Happy 55th, Barack! A brother to me, a best friend forever. pic.twitter.com/uNsxouTKOO— Vice President Biden (@VP) August 4, 2016
Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI will miss this president. I still remember election night in 2008 when he and his family came out to greet the throngs of supporters at his headquarters in Chicago. Oprah Winfrey was in the audience peeking around another supporter. I literally watched on TV while on the phone with my son and we were both holding back tears. Tears of joy, tears of pride. And then, the same thing in 2012! My son and I on the phone to each other, after midnight laughing at Karl Rove's meltdown on Fox News and I remember my son said "I am so proud of my fellow Americans who voted for Obama again." I was too, still am.
ReplyDeleteI have the same memories and you expressed them so well.
DeleteThey are simply the loveliest couple to ever grace the White House. The Bidens aren't too shabby, either!
ReplyDeleteI love dearly both the Obamas and the Bidens. Their open love for each, their mutual respect, their awesome intellect impresses me each and every day. Glad our nation's youth see such sterling examples of political leaders.
DeleteIn Sammy Hagar's words, "I can't drive 55" was never in your vocabulary the eight years you have served us, my President!
ReplyDeleteBest of my lifetime. Happy Birthday!
Love vs hate Palin and the republicans spew always
ReplyDeleteOT but pretty damn cool none the less ..

How Elegant a couple, and what fantastic choices of presents, especially Joe, love his sense of humor. Happy fifty fifth, and many more!!!!
ReplyDeleteJoe and he are so cute! We will never have another duo like these two. They respect and love each other and have done an excellent job in governing our country these near past eight years.
DeleteLove them both and want to send Happy Birthday greetings to President Obama! And, want to say thank you, thank you for being YOU and guiding us with your easy and calm manner!
Just lovely . . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you G for this post. I will miss President Obama & his family, grace, dignity, humor. DECENCY. I lived oversea during Watergate & remember weeping as I read Time while riding public transportation. I was angry & ashamed about our government. I will never be able to adequately express my admiration &gratitude to President Obama for all he has done. I remain angry & ashamed with Republican obstruction, hate & disregard for our country's better angels.
ReplyDeleteYwc2
Happy BD to our best president!
ReplyDeleteHappy 55th Birthday, President Obama!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures say it all...

Who can't forget his Marvin Gaye, ♫ "I...I'm so in love with you" ♫ singing to her? There's a marriage under stress I couldn't even dream of. I absolutely adore them!
ReplyDeleteAl Green, "Let's stay together"
DeleteLove them! First time in my life I've had actual affection for the president and family...and I'm 60 years old!
ReplyDeleteRight? Them and the Palins are such nice people, nastily attacked and slandered by the hypocritical opposing side for no reason. Dear haters, your lies won't change the fact that Obama and Palin know how to raise strong, independent adults who began working at 15/16 and don't stop because they value the right things.
DeleteGryph, cannot you let one day go by without the likes of 6:35 PM? It IS our President's birthday. "Them and the Palins." Good lord.
DeleteValue the right things Palin tribe? Oh honey, please do go sit down but you got noticed! Does it make your heart soar?
DeleteBWAHAHAHAHA, the Palins work? You must be overdosed on your psychotic drugs, Alicia. The Palins work just like you do, trolling the internet.
DeleteSo, Bristles "worked hard" at 15? At what, getting pregnant? 6:35 must be a PayMe family member, full of poop. The Obamas have grace, dignity, intelligence, class. Not one single PayMe family member has any of those qualities. If 6:35 is Bristles, let me speak to her in language she fully understands, Go F**K YOURSELF. Duh should be prepared at all times when at the family gatherings, watch out for "friendly fire" Duh.
DeleteI so agree with you, 5:47 PM and I'm in my 70's. He and his family are the absolute best and I love them to pieces!
ReplyDeleteOur country is so lucky to have had them during these near eight years that President Obama has served our country in such a superlative way as POTUS!
I say thank you every day!
Especially when you compare him to Donald Trump! OMG! Truly no comparison! Donald doesn't measure up to President Obama in any way, shape or form!
@6:35--HAHAHAHAHA! I cannot BELIEVE you actually had the nerve to put that bitch's name in that post. What a maroon you are.
ReplyDeleteROFLOL
Yeah, after eight years here, I'm tiring of what Gryph lets through.
DeleteSpecial, special people who have made us proud every day they have been in the White House. I am always aware, in the back of my mind, that Michelle's Mother is there with them. What a wonderful bunch of troopers.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sasha has a job at Martha's Vineyard! They are a one of a kind first family and I cherish the fact that it was in my lifetime so I could see such grace, caring, calmness, sincerity and ENERGY the likes of which may never happen again. He who reads, reviews etc. for 2-3 hours at the end of every day to stay abreast of everything demonstrates phenomenal strength - and I just saw that tidbit somewhere this week about him.
Obamas and Palins, bullied by opponents, stronger and more pure hearted than ever. Great parenting from both sides and all the kids have amazing futures much to the dismay of haters past their prime. Love how the Palins are humble and don't act like they're better than anyone. No one's more real.
ReplyDelete'Love how the Palins are humble and don't act like they're better than anyone. No one's more real.'
DeleteAre you F*****g with us??!!??
Perhaps all you Palinistas should read this and ponder:

@9:00 PM Are you drunk? The Palins don't have one child who has excelled at anything in life, from schoolwork to everyday life. They are all failures, drug addicts, alcoholics, and criminals. You can shove your Palin adoration up your stupid ass.
DeleteHow did you get through the butterfly net, Alicia Mangelsdorf? You should be locked in a secure facility away from decent people, you filthy psychopath. You're disgusting.
DeleteOn "Maury Povich" show yesterday, there was a woman who looked like $carah, only heavier. They were testing the 8th guy, trying to find out who the father of her two kids was. Seems she slept with every guy in town. Both guys failed to be the father. Two beautiful kids, a girl and a boy. I kept wondering who the woman reminded me of, then suddenly I realized, she looked just like PayME!! With the morals and reputation of Bristles.
DeleteIt was so disappointing when Al Gore had the election taken from him. He was the one who made sense as the first president of the new century. Not Bush. We went backwards, not forwards. Then came Pres Obama and he brought us forward. I love the Obamas!

...and yet...our President is an American Truth Speeker~
On His Birthday, President Obama Gives A Gift To Every American Woman And Girl - President Barack Obama, the president who has done more for women than any previous president in recent history, penned a beautiful ode to feminism in Glamour Magazine.

Palin needs to rush to Trump Tower to save her hero.
ReplyDeleteThe Obamas will live long in our memory as a singularly loving couple. It's possible that nobody else could even comprehend what they have gone through these last seven and a half years- yet here they are, stronger and closer than ever.
ReplyDeleteOT, but it's about another great man, Harry Reid, who will be retiring. Just watched this Huffpo-produced video, an interview of HR by his son. It's excellent. And you may tear up:

G, don't know if you've seen it, but you might want to see Barack Obama, Couch Commander.
ReplyDeleteI saw on face book, can't provide link now.
