"Brexit is an abbreviation for "British exit," which refers to the June 23, 2016, referendum whereby British citizens voted to exit the European Union."They will soon be calling me MR. BREXIT!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 18, 2016
So does this mean that Donald Trump is leaving the EU?
Or does it mean, as Time Magazine suggests, that he is going to suddenly turn things around and surprise people by overcoming the odds and attracting the most votes as the Brexit referendum did in United Kingdom?
Or does it mean he has had enough and is leaving the presidential race?
If it is the third one that means that this recent Michael Moore article suggesting that Trump never wanted to win the presidency and is looking to drop out is dead on.
Could this mean that our long national nightmare is about to end?
Or that it is only about to get worse?
Beats the hell out of me.
But if he drops out, does this mean Pence is the GOP presidential candidate?
ReplyDeleteUgh.
I don't think Pence would be the 'automatic' candidate for POTUS should Trump quit!
DeleteThe RNC can either host a new convention with all delegates present or the RNC leadership could vote on a candidate to replace Trump.
DeletePence will not automatically become the candidate, the RNC has a committee of 168 people that would chose the next candidate. Problem is it maybe too late to get him on the ballot.
Delete1:16PM Timing msy be too late so on your ballot, should you wish to vote for a Republican President, just write in "Whoever".
DeleteIt wouldn't be automatic.
DeleteBut it would be likely.
They'll want stability on the ticket and moving Pence up to P and adding a new VP is less disruptive than just nominating a new P.
Neither option is good and changing now will guarantee they lose in November. No matter who they choose. And whoever they put on that ticket will be poisoned for future chances so they won't waste anyone that might have a shot in the future. That's why Mike Pence is on it. He's about to be replaced as governor of his own state and would never have a shot as a nominee in the future. So he's a placeholder. Their primary identified many placeholders they could use.
There are some looming points of no return, like deadlines for printing ballots & such. If Drumpf does pull a pull a Drexit, it might tend to support one thought I've had for a long time, that the point (or one point) of the entire bizarre journey has been to give a HUGE middle finger to the GOP establishment. He's certainly doing a marvelous job of it, whether or not he's been trying.
DeletePence wishes!!!
DeleteFrom my porch, I can see the day when Trump is considered an American hero for saving the country from the GOP.
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong, but I can't see Trump dropping out. I think he has gotten a good taste of the power and attention he's received from this race and he really enjoys it. We all know he is a narcissistic bully who enjoys controlling others so I suspect he'll stick around until everyone has had enough. Who knows though?!
ReplyDeleteDropping out would ruin his post-election plans for a new alt-right media outlet.
DeleteAll dumpster all the time.

DeleteI thought he would find a way to drop out when it became clear he could never win.
DeleteNow I'm thinking he is so delusional he doesn't realize he can't win.
Maybe there is a bit of both.
He is making excuses and pointing in other directions to lay blame. So on some level he must realize he is so far down he'll never win. But I still wonder if on the surface, his ego is convincing him to stay in because he doesn't quit, which is in conflict with he doesn't lose.
Of course, I didn't think he'd do the debates either so we'll see.
Don't forget, he and Sarah have people on their fb pages egging them on. This is what keeps them thinking they are the King and Queen. Some of the comments are nauseating. These are people who like to worship, and love a savior.

DeleteThey missed on his o mouth, but the rest is DOWN LOW >"pat on".
DeleteAs with most Trump speech statements or Tweets, what he means is open to interpretation.
ReplyDeleteBut one response Tweet told Trump "We BREXITED in 1776". I doubt Trump has a clue about the Declaration of Independence any more than he does about the Constitution.
KaJo, he probably believes the Constitution was written and signed in 1776.
DeleteYou'd be surprised how many people believe that.
DeleteHow bout if he is leaving FOR the EU.
ReplyDeleteExcept they probably don't want him.
How about if he is leaving FOR Russia? He and Putin are BFFs.
DeleteHis EGO is to HUGE to leave the race, he doesn't care if he destroys the GOP either. It is & has been always about him!
ReplyDeleteBut has the POINT been to destroy the GOP?
DeleteIt would explain a lot.
I took it as he can trash the US economy as fast as BREXIT trashed Britain's.
ReplyDeleteHe might be pointing to something he learned yesterday in his national security briefing, and say that, if he becomes Prez (cough, cough), he will get the US out of Nato and UN and whatever other agreements we have with other nations.
ReplyDeleteRemember, he hinted at that earlier already.
MOre like (barf, barf)
DeleteHe is behind the times. He has been Mr. Brexit for a long time. Poor guy can't keep up with anything.
ReplyDeleteI hope they gave him the security info from World War 1. That may be too modern of times for him but better than other security.
I think he means NATO exit.
ReplyDeleteRio 2016 Olympics: US swimmers 'invented robbery story
ReplyDeleteUS Olympic swimmers in Rio de Janeiro invented a story about a robbery in an effort to disguise a dispute over a damaged petrol station door, police sources have told the BBC.
One of the athletes broke the door to the bathroom and a row ensued when attendants asked the Americans to pay for the damage, they said.
After security guards were called in, the Americans reportedly paid and left.
Three of the swimmers remain in Brazil and are due to be questioned by police.
The fourth, gold medallist Ryan Lochte, returned to the US on Monday...
What is said to have happened?
The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro told the BBC's Wyre Davies that about 06:00 (09:00 GMT) on Sunday, the four men arrived by taxi at a petrol station in Barra da Tijuca, 16km from the Olympic Park.
One of the the athletes broke the door to the bathroom, the police said, and petrol station attendants asked the Americans to pay for the damage.
A verbal dispute is said to have ensued with the attendants, and security guards were called to contain the incident. The police were also called.
While police were on their way, another customer at the gas station served as interpreter for the athletes and helped agree payment for the damage.
When police arrived, the athletes had already gone after paying for the broken door, and they returned to the Olympic Village....

Yeah, he intends to make sure the U.S. loses a few trillion dollars and that old people who might vote for him destroys their grandchildren's futures, while encouraging white supremacists to take back the stupid and hateful.

Off subject just a tiny bit, but have the readers of this blog seen the statues (nude) that have been erected in different areas of the U.S. of Donald Trump?
ReplyDeleteDonald is NOT going to be happy! The statues refect his obesity - fat gutt, veins, tiny pee pee and his general being out of shape appearance!
The artist was not disclosed because they know the Trump machine would come after him or her!
The nude statute can be found on the web and it's a site for sore eyes!
Trump is going to be pissed!
So, if that is true, why didn't you post a url. The fact that you didn't makes me believe you are trying to start something.

ReplyDeleteAnd yet for all that Jared has helped Trump, there is a sense among Jared's friends and business associates that he sees the gold-plated vision of a Trump White House as the ultimate step in a carefully plotted ascent to redemption, one that began when his father's scandal tarnished the family name. In this respect, it seems more than usually significant that both Kushner brothers have photographs of John F. Kennedy prominently displayed in their offices. Just as Kennedy's father was forced to yield his ambitions to his sons' generation after uttering controversial remarks during World War II, so too did the scandal that sent Charles Kushner to prison open the door for his sons—and especially for Jared—to launch their charm offensive on society at a very early age.

White Men Are Dumping Trump As Election Spirals Out Of Control For The GOP

No wonder Trump tweeted out that he is gonna be Mr. Brexit. He and his surrogates obviously believe he’s going to make an epic comeback to beat Hillary by a surprising margin.

For Conservative Press, The Post-Trump Reckoning Can’t Come Soon Enough
ReplyDeleteBreitbart “is the tip of the spear for lunatic anti-Clinton pseudo-scandals and conspiracy theories, [and] has perfected the style of writing propaganda under the guise of ‘reporting’ like an electronic Arkansas Project,” he said. But whereas his old haunt respected some traditional boundaries, he couldn’t say the same of the current incarnation.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/conservative-press-trump_us_57b506f5e4b034dc7325a2d7?section=&
Trump tweeted this just hours after a campaign surrogate made a fool of himself on CNN by repeatedly denying the existence of polls showing Trump was losing to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Michael Cohen, the Trump surrogate, kept asking, “Says who?” and finally, “Which polls?” until Brianna Keilar was forced to tell him, “All of them.”
ReplyDeleteTrump is down by an average of 6 points and he’s losing several swing states to Clinton right now. The path to victory for Trump is looking very slim.
So now that “says who” was trending yesterday, we wake up this morning to Mr. Brexit.
Trump supported Brexit, which won in a referendum 52% to 48%.
But this isn’t a referendum and this isn’t the U.K. Furthermore, while early polling can be off and indeed all polling can be off for actual reasons, like pollsters who pretend African Americans won’t turn out for Obama and now for Clinton, polls when done well are an indication of where the race is heading.
There’s also the problem that all of the polls say the same thing.
Donald Trump looks at the polls that say he’s losing and announces that he’s winning. He’s Mr. Brexit!
http://www.politicususa.com/2016/08/18/donald-trumps-bizarre-mr-brexit-tweet.html
Each poll can have it's own bias and errors, but I think the key here is that so many of them indicate the same thing. Trump is so far back he'll never catch up. Short of Hillary dropping dead I don't see her losing. And even if she did, there is no guarantee that Trump would win. At this point I think there are so many voting against Trump that they could put anyone on the Democratic ticket and they'd still win.
DeleteI just read men with higher voices have higher sperm counts. That's interesting.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Sarah had been pregnant 7 times. (6 if you don't think trig is hers)
Sorry but no. Pitch is determined by the length of the vocal folds. Size is determined by heredity. Once you go through puberty that's it.

Personally I want Trump to hang in there.Hillary will beat the shit out of him.And thereby save the world.
ReplyDeleteHow long will this turd stay in the race? The longer Trump stays in the worst his image becomes.
ReplyDeleteIf Trump is exiting the race, the deadline is August 20 to get another candidate's name on the state's ballots. Two more days....

I think Trump means to pull the US out of every treaty obligation it has. Under Trump the US would become a rogue nation, not something that a country should aspire to, but Trump wouldn't understand.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Well there goes his security policy for defeating ISIS.
DeleteHe said a couple of days ago he would use NATO to defeat ISIS, he probable doesn't remember saying it and it seems to me, he can't USE NATO for anything, they have to want to participate. Small details are too much for little donnie.

Trump is nothing more than an ugly, deceitful, evil man as to his thoughts and appalling verbal techniques!
ReplyDeleteNo one could pay me enough to ever favorably acknowledge his presence upon this earth and country!
Truly feel sorry for his kids! Just think what they've learned about him since he began this 'supposed' race for POTUS! They must be so embarrassed by, and for, him.
It's no wonder two of his sons got the Hell out of Dodge and went on a wildlife killing trip outside of the USA and that Ivanka joined a girlfriend and went overseas!
They will NEVER be able to get far enough away from the plight of their father! There is no reason in Hell to be proud of carrying the Trump name!
I think you are giving his children more credit than they deserve. They are on board with the circus, especially his sons that have been interviewed on klan radio programs.
DeleteLike father like children.
Bannon is on the trump train for a reason. Ailes is there also, too. This really is coming together on the idea of a new alt-right media network. To that end, gop support or not, he is in to the end - there will be no dropping out.
ReplyDeleteYa know, it would be really nice if T.Rump had bothered to learn to speak English before he entered the country ...er... race for President.
ReplyDeleteThe Mr. Brexit refers to the theory most Brits voted for the exit from the EU because of immigration and distant regulation (not UK centered). Trump obviously sees his strengths in ginning up immigration anxieties among middle class workers and turning away from treaties (TPP, that the Obama administration entirely supports and Clinton waffles on). Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with Trump exiting the race. I am frankly amazed he had the nerve to go to the UK in any capacity anymore. He is absolutely hated there.
ReplyDeleteThey will soon be calling me MR. BREXIT!
ReplyDelete--------------
Not exactly something to brag about, ruined economy.
However the supporters have something in common with his. Most of the people that voted for Brexit, didn’t understand what the consequences were.
Or could be he is just running out of stupid ideas to twitter.
It doesn't mean any of those things.
ReplyDeleteIt means Trump wants to isolate the U.S. for the world like the U.K. is doing. He wants the U.S. to control it's own destiny and he thinks the U.S. leaving NATO and isolating from the rest of the world will do that.
When Brexit causes problems for the U.K he is going to regret that statement. But no worries. He will deny ever having said it. He will say the media created it and it's all their fault.
Donald, this country is not yours or your cohorts. We don't want wall, and doors. We don't want to be like Melania, your stepford wife, locked in a tower. We want to be free. Don't lock us down Donald. Don't. We want to be free!!!!
