The Alabama Court of the Judiciary has suspended Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore without pay for the remainder of his term in office.
The court ruled Friday morning to suspend Moore without pay for the remainder of his term in office. He will also have to pay for court costs.
Moore was found guilty on all six charges, that he failed to respect and comply with the law for telling probate judges not to allow same sex marriages. The same panel removed Moore in 2003 after he refused to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the state judicial building. He was later re-elected as chief justice after losing a race for governor.
Roy Moore of course is an outspoken opponent of same sex marriage, and anti-government zealot, and of course a Right Wing hero.
I imagine that now he will be considered a martyr to their cause and embark on a speaking tour during which he vilifies President Obama and the liberals to crowds at Alt-Right political rallies and Evangelical tent revivals.
He will be a civil war general, sending in the stupid and gullible into battle, clinging to their guns and bibles.
ReplyDeleteI wish all people like him would be brought to task. First time I've heard where pay was lost. Think they should be fired too if at all possible!
ReplyDeleteI live in Alabama. Our Speaker of the House has been found guilty of 12 felony counts of basically using his position for self-profit, Judge Roy Moore has been suspended, and meetings are currently being held to look at impeaching Governor Bentley and investigating his girlfriend and her husband. Moore's son has been arrested about three times for drug charges that seem to never result in any jail time, and he has a foundation with his wife and son serving as officers. We are a state with very low college educated people. Fox News is the gospel here; no need for other sources. Trump will be voted in here, no questions asked. However, I see glimmers of hope whenever these state officials are removed from office. People here love to claim the Bible as the book they live by and churches are on every corner, but the number of divorces, rampant drug use, and violence against one another say otherwise for these nominal Christians. With all these being said, Alabama is a state of great beauty with very serious literary claims. It's just that, as always, the National Enquirer types garner the national news notice.
ReplyDeleteDon't take it. Fight. Get some education in the state school system, organize.

ReplyDeleteMaybe that's why they think more with their brains than their gonads.
DeleteThat big giant rump has lots of bar flies hanging on that pile of chit of a man.
ReplyDeleteskanks love smelly rump
ReplyDeleteI bet he loves gay porn.
ReplyDeleteI think, people, we need to draw the bigger circle and keep Trumpian kinds of remarks to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI love how they see the asshole that has drawn a government paycheck his entire bigoted career as "anti government." No. He is a bigot who has tried to push HIS religion on the rest of us. The 2nd Amendment is sacrosanct; the 1st Amendment ... not so much.

ReplyDeleteHonestly as a conservative, he deserves this. The Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is the law of the land and this jerk needs to accept it. He doesn't get to pick and choose which laws he wants to abide by.
ReplyDeleteA chief justice defying the law finally gets a taste of what happens when people are fired. Will there be a review of some kind on every lgbt case he's had before him and the outcome?
