Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world - a horrible mess!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2017
It would seem clear to me that Trump is justifying the ban not only by citing terrorist attacks here in America but also attacks against Christians in the Middle East.Christians in the Middle-East have been executed in large numbers. We cannot allow this horror to continue!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2017
And while the killing of Christians based on their religious beliefs is indeed disgusting and inhuman, it is also true that in the Middle East Muslims kill their fellow Muslims due to differing religious beliefs in far, far greater numbers.
The way the tweet is worded it makes is sound as if Trump is using the ban to keep the evil Muslims from killing the saintly Christians in this country, which is a pitfall that even the clumsy Bush administration was able to avoid.
Which is once again quite ironic considering that it is this so-called Christian nation that has been dropping tons of bombs on predominately Muslim countries for the last 16 years.
Trump is also ramping up the "War on Terror" which surely means American troops on the ground in Islamic countries, and an increase in civilian causalities.
In other words, Trump has just openly started a very public religious war in the name of Christianity on a number of Muslim countries.
And this is how he is responding to those criticizing him for it.
The joint statement of former presidential candidates John McCain & Lindsey Graham is wrong - they are sadly weak on immigration. The two...— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2017
Yeah, I don't think THEY'RE the ones looking to start World War III....Senators should focus their energies on ISIS, illegal immigration and border security instead of always looking to start World War III.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 29, 2017
Of course all of this only gives even more credibility to this Twitter account:
There is a reason why you only put smart sane people into the White House.Attempts to get POTUS to work on policy failed. Retreats to residence, skulking over McCain/Lindsey announcement and public protests.— Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) January 29, 2017

Look at the time stamps on those tweets. Makes me think Trump has both accounts and is trolling us. Plus he is typo prone.
ReplyDeleteRead all the roguepotusstaff tweets. Trump would have to have far greater self-awareness than he's ever shown in his entire public life. And if it WERE Trump, how much bigger than Hillary's "pls print" emails would this be? Jared or Ivanka...maybe.

DeleteMy neighbor is deathly afraid the Muslims are coming to get us. I don't know what she bases this on.....she watches Fox news and voted for Trump. Now could I assume that Fox pushes and instills fear into peoples minds? Trump gleefully exploited immigration. Kinda sad.........
ReplyDeleteYears ago my one Republican friend said that the muslims wanted to take over and when they did all the women would be wearing burkas (she lives in Tenn.), and she lives in fear of Sharia Law. I am not very learned on what that entails, but she seems to apply it to women's rights most of all.
DeleteShe was one of the smartest people I ever worked with -- field of marketing research. She ran her own company. Lifelong Republican who watches only Fox News, believes the NYTimes and Washington Post are screaming liberal papers.
So, she sounds like your neighbor.
Yet, to me the evil Republicans of this country are much more likely to get their restrictive laws against women in place than would ever happen with Muslims. Makes no sense at all to me.
@7:00 PM. Projection. And if T is accusing others of wanting to start WWIII...
DeleteTrump is such a numbskull! Immigrants have been vetted in depth by all prior administrations before being allowed to enter the USA!
ReplyDeleteHe's spreading crud and fear as usual! I wish President Obama would come out and counter him on this matter! Someone needs to provide the facts as to the vetting of each individual. Where are the Democrats in this matter?
I know to hear him they have been giving out visas like candy.

O/T: Gaslighting: Know It and Identify It
ReplyDeletehttps://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/here-there-and-everywhere/201701/gaslighting-know-it-and-identify-it-protect-yourself
Gaslighting is a tactic of behavior in which a person or entity, in order to gain more power, makes a victim question their reality. It works a lot better than you may think. Anyone is susceptible to gaslighting. It is a common technique of abusers, dictators, narcissists, and cult leaders. It is done slowly, so the victim doesn't realize how much they've been brainwashed. In the movie Gaslight (1944), a man manipulates his wife to the point where she thinks she is losing her mind.
People that gaslight use the following techniques:
1. They tell you blatant lies. …
2. They deny they ever said something, even though you have proof. …
3. They use what is near and dear to you as ammunition. …
4. They wear you down over time. …
5. Their actions do not match their words. …
6. They throw in positive reinforcement to confuse you. …
7. They know confusion weakens people. …
8. They project. …
9. They try to align people against you. …
10. They tell you or others that you are crazy. …
11. They tell you everyone else is a liar. …
Follow the link for the details.
yeah fox nation has been using this for years now. And trump came in using on steroids 18 months ago. Russian tactics. pos lousy actors. LOCK UM UP
DeleteTed Powell: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the copied information and the link. The list summarizes and includes what I and others experienced by my ex husband intensely after I decided it was necessary to divorce him. The tactics and behaviors I learned to recognize for survival have been alarming observing Trump acting them out. Today they are claiming Saturday was a huge success. I guarantee no hell hath the fury of malignant narcissists when they can not convince someone of an opposing reality such as Trump's inaugeral crowd size.
DeleteBeware any person who claims everyone else is a liar and run for your life.
Trump doesn't know or care if anything he claims is true.

ReplyDeletethe base - just a means to an end.
be careful who you build alliances with because if you become so focused on one issue and are willing to burn the house down to get it -- eventually someone will take you up on it.
we get to chase all the fires to save our country.
It's been 9 days...first two were spent on Russian ties, which got too close to the truth for comfort. Then they pivoted to 'crowd size,' and "election fraud' for three days. Then Bannon wrote this God-awful immigration order to make Trump and the rest of us forget that he wants 'a full investigation of the election fraud.' I do too! Let's recount everything!! NOW!
DeleteAnd to cause hate, fear and disruption!
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the Christian pedestal that Trump, who of course isn't religious, is now so into (for example, he and Pence were so into that pro-life march last week, something they associate with true Xians) that they see as being shared with Israel. At once, they are promoting both Xianity and Judaism (yes, even with the Holocaust flub) and tearing down the other religion. Trump had to pull back, for now, on the US embassy being moved to Jerusalem, but that will emerge again later. If the US moves their embassy there, it will surely mean others will follow. Pasted below is a list of consulates and embassies in Israel and where they are located. Right now there are two very religious places listed in Jerusalem and the US consulate but not embassy. Why the need to try that move to Jerusalem in week one when so many countries' offices are stationed in Tel Aviv? It's all about Netanyahu teaming up with Trump to get what Bibi wants.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.science.co.il/Embassies.php
Do they know that abortion is a covered procedure in Israel, and that Israel gets billions from us?
DeleteAnd Bibi is the one putting the bug about going into Iran in the Pissident's ears...
DeleteMore wasted taxpayer money to build an embassy in Jerusalem. They will need a fortress.
DeleteBy the way, why doesn’t Bibi move all the Israeli government offices there first, then will talk about moving the embassy?
Is he setting trump up to take the blame when the Middle East blows up? Cuz I think he already has figured out trump isn’t all that bright and is very impulsive.
7:58pm
DeleteBibi is an asshole. How is it that a Jew finds New Hitler to be such an ally? I think history might come back to bite that one in the ass, again. Hopefully he doesn't take 6 million of his compatriots down with him ;-)
Let's do the math.
ReplyDeleteTo issue a Bill of Impeachment by the House of Representatives requires only a simple majority vote: 435 members, majority = 218. Currently there are 188 Democrats in the House. Need only 30 Republicans to recognize that Trump is a danger to their party and we have the votes.
The Senate requires a 2/3 majority to convict -- 67 votes. 46 Democrats. McCain and Graham are pissed = 50. Count in Rubio and Cruz = 52. Then there are the moderate Senators -- figure 10 or so. We need only 5 more votes.
Will we have the numbers by Spring?
What exactly are your articles of impeachment boy genius?

Has he 8:35? Or do you just say it even though it holds no water.
DeletePlease provide the exact articles of impeachment if he can be impeached. Just saying 'he has broken the oath several times' does not cut it as articles of impeachment. Try harder.
@ 8:35 better watch out there is constitutional expert @ 9:47 :)
Delete"arguments principally on the English experience and The Federalist No. 64, claimed that a President could be removed for any misconduct that indicated that he did not possess the requisite honor, integrity, and character to be trusted to carry out his functions in a manner free from corruption. Article 4 of the 25th Amendment is what I'm reading about from different sources. No impeachment needed. He can just be removed by Congress for a number of reasons. At this pace, it could happen sooner than later. He's nuts, and Bannon is an asshole. Also a Nazi.

Trump just put a target on our country and citizens here and abroad for terrorist attacks. Thanks mr. trump
ReplyDeleteOne problem with his approach is the terrorist are already here, sleeper cells, just waiting for the right time to attack.
"the terrorist are already here, sleeper cells,"
DeleteSo the best option is to keep bringing over people from islamic terrorist infested countries and roll the dice?
Exactly. We already do have the sleeper cells, but on top of it all, this last edict also awakens more potential DOMESTIC terrorists!
DeleteSo the best option is to keep bringing over people from islamic terrorist infested countries and roll the dice?

of course because are Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen are the only countries that harbor terrorist.
What about Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Lebanon, Pakistan, Indonesia and on and on.
My point was, with his impulsive screw up, he has added to the problem instead of solving it.
He could have consulted Homeland Security and set up a timeline to implement his Muslim ban. Instead he signs a dubious E.O. with no procedures/guidelines in place.
And it blows up in his face, boo hoo
Every time I go to Vegas there is his tacky shit show a a building, all alone at the dead end of the strip and I always ask myself why no one has done us all a favor and run a plane into that monstrosity. Perhaps this will happen now...it's the least someone could do.
DeleteThe seven countries on the ban have never sent us a terrorist. The countries that have are places where Fat Donald has business ties. So, of course, he doesn't want to piss them off-Muslim or not. Also, any home grown terrorist from Europe can still come here. Bannon apparently went over the head of Homeland Security to install the Green Card ban. That one is the one to look out for.
Deletehttps://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/jihadist-groups-hail-trumps-travel-ban-as-a-victory/2017/01/29/50908986-e66d-11e6-b82f-687d6e6a3e7c_story.html?utm_campaign=pubexchange&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=huffingtonpost.com&utm_term=.916cf75a2481
Delete"Jihadist groups on Sunday celebrated the Trump administration’s ban on travel from seven Muslim-majority countries, saying the new policy validates their claim that the United States is at war with Islam.
Comments posted to pro-Islamic State social media accounts predicted that President Trump’s executive order would persuade American Muslims to side with the extremists. One posting hailed the U.S. president as “the best caller to Islam,” while others predicted that Trump would soon launch a new war in the Middle East.
Several postings suggested that Trump was fulfilling the predictions of Anwar al-Awlaki, the American born al-Qaeda leader and preacher who famously said that the “West would eventually turn against its Muslim citizens.” Awlaki was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in 2011."
And his 8 year old daughter was just killed in the recent raid in Yemen. Bullet to the neck. Took her 2 hours to die.
You better believe they'll be using that to recruit a whole new generation of terrorists. All thanks to TRUMP, the fucking assholes and all of the fucking assholes that made it possible: Russia, Comey, the RNC, the Media and the asshole voters so full of hate they couldn't bother to see beyond their own selfish, narrowminded bigotry.
"The reaction to the ban from Islamic State sympathizers came as current and former U.S. officials also expressed concern that the temporary ban would undermine the global fight against violent Islamic militants. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he worried about the ban’s impact on Muslim troops fighting alongside Americans to destroy the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
“The effect will probably in some areas give ISIS some more propaganda,” McCain told CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, using an acronym for the Islamic State.
Robert Richer, a 35-year CIA veteran and former chief of the agency’s Near East division, said the ban was a “strategic mistake” that could undermine future efforts to recruit spies and collect vital information about terrorists and their plans. How, he asked, can CIA officers persuade Iraqi and Syrian nationals to risk their lives to help the United States?
“This was a win for jihadists and other anti-U.S. forces,” said Richer, the deputy chief of the agency’s Operations Directorate during the George W. Bush administration. “It fuels the belief out there that Americans are anti-Islam. Otherwise, it accomplishes nothing, because the ones we are most concerned about can still get to the United States.”"
@ mialuppa. Trump WAS the poster child for ISIS, now he is their top recruiter as they sit back and watch him destroy 8 years of reason in 8 days of madness. Carpe diem, people.
DeleteFrom the Washington Post (also pay-per-view) this needs to be noted: "Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he worried about the ban’s impact on Muslim troops fighting alongside Americans to destroy the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria."
But would McCain vote to impeach him? He has caved in the past.
So trump talks on his unsecured android phone to pooty on Saturday. Says they talked about defeating terrorist. Trump sends in navy seal team 6, they are attacked 1 dead 3 injured. The attack also killed a innocent little girl and others. Did pooty set trump and team 6 up?

Koch brothers signal opposition to Muslim ban and border tax
The billionaire Koch brothers, Charles and David, have signalled their opposition to two of Donald Trump’s most controversial policies.
The brothers’ campaign group Americans for Prosperity have launched a bid to sink the Trump border tax plan which aims to raise millions from import duty to pay for a wall along the Mexican border.
On Sunday the group also challenged Trump’s intention to stop the movement of people from countries with large Muslim populations from traveling to the United States.
“The travel ban is the wrong approach and will likely be counterproductive,” said an official of the Koch network, which refused to endorse Trump during his presidential campaign.

Food for thought: when radical Christians were roaming the country burning down and bombing abortion clinics or threatening or killing care providers we never once blamed Christianity and radical clergy. We never limited access to churches or the ability to pray. America today is not the America I want or will put up with.

Deletehttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-courts-constitutional-crisis_us_588ea5bfe4b0176377953710?
ReplyDelete"It took little more than a week in office for President Donald Trump to thrust the nation to the brink of a constitutional crisis.
When federal judges rule, government officials — up to and including the president — are supposed to obey or risk being held in contempt of court. A government that ignored the courts would be able to violate the law and the Constitution at will. So for more than two centuries, the nation’s courts have had the last word on what’s legal and constitutional — and what is not. “We are and will remain in compliance with judicial orders,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement Sunday evening.
But there was little indication that the Trump administration has fully complied with the court orders — or that Trump’s inner circle even believed the administration had to do so.
CBP officials refused throughout the weekend to obey the Virginia judge’s order to allow lawyers access to detainees at Dulles. “It’s not going to happen,” they told attorneys who hoped to represent the detained people. When Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) showed up at the airport shortly before midnight Saturday, CBP officials refused to meet with him, according to reporting by The Daily Beast’s Betsy Woodruff.
The next morning, four Democratic members of the House of Representatives went to the airport and tried and failed to convince CBP to obey the order.
On Sunday night, Sens. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) and Richard Durbin (Ill.), the second-highest-ranking Democrat in the Senate, sent a letter to the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general requesting an investigation into the agency’s handling of Trump’s executive order and response to the court rulings. The senators asked the IG to figure out whether any CBP officers disobeyed court orders, what they did, and who ordered them to do it.
“The United States Constitution means little if law enforcement agents disregard it,” Duckworth and Durbin wrote. “The American people are relying on your independent investigators to serve as a check against a powerful law enforcement agency that may be ... operating in violation of the law.”
The weekend’s events had all the makings of a constitutional crisis, two law professors told HuffPost.
Disobeying a court order “is a big deal for any government official — federal, state, local, executive, legislative, whatever,” said Abner Greene, a law professor at Fordham University. “Obedience to specific court orders is what keeps us from being a banana republic or fascist dictatorship. That’s a really big deal.”"
CBP = US Customs and Border Protection.
