Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano is being kept off the air indefinitely amid the controversy over his unverified claims that British intelligence wiretapped Trump Tower at the behest of former President Obama.
Fox News did not respond to inquiries about Napolitano’s status Monday. Napolitano was conspicuously missing from the network’s coverage of the confirmation hearings on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch — an event in which he typically would have played a significant role. He has not been on the air since Thursday.
People familiar with the situation who could speak only on the condition of anonymity said Napolitano is not expected to be on Fox News Channel any time in the near future. Napolitano was not available for comment.
Wow, when you are too full of shit for Fox News, you know you are REALLY full of shit.
But here's the thing, Fox News is the source for MANY of Donald Trump's false statements.
As the Daily Show pointed out last night, not only is Fox News virtually the only cable news outlet that can interview Trump these days, but they also the ONLY news outlet he seems to think is not "fake news."
Which is hysterical since most of us know that Fox News is often ground zero for fake news.
However, like Trump, they are in complete denial that they are essentially the bullshit network. (Except of course for Shepard Smith who seems inoculated against the bullshit.)
And that makes statements like this seem to be dripping with irony.
Yes, Donald Trump certainly needs to "embrace the facts."O'Reilly: Trump Would Be Wise to 'Embrace Only Facts' in the Future https://t.co/yA7gLPp0cA (VIDEO) pic.twitter.com/yMqEqwHbcl— Mediaite (@Mediaite) March 21, 2017
But do you know what might help with that?
If his go to news outlet did it first.
Sure firing Judge Napolitano is a good start, but what about Sean Hannity? Jeanne Pirro? Everybody on Fox and Friends? And yes Bill O'Reilly himself?
The facts are that there are rarely actual verifiable facts on Fox News. And when there are they are twisted to fit their conservative agenda.
Personally I would fire the whole crew, with the exception of Shepard Smith who actually seems to have journalistic integrity.
How can the higher ups at Faux know when someone is actually lying? Their whole network

DeleteTrump Is Defining the Presidency Down
ReplyDeleteThe president may not realize it, but his conduct is making his office less powerful, less relevant and less influential.
...Early on in the presidential primary season, Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart cited Moynihan declared that candidate Trump’s embrace of “nativist, racist, misogynistic slop” was defining deviancy down in the presidential campaign—mainstreaming coarse rhetoric and prejudicial views. Today, with President Trump continuing to exhibit deeply unpresidential behavior in the White House, he isn’t just defining deviancy down for political campaigns; whether intentionally or not, he is defining the presidency itself down.

Republicans In Total Free Fall As Trump Doesn’t Have The Votes To Pass Health Care Bill

Panic Sweeps The GOP As House Republican Warns Democrats Will Win Congress If Trumpcare Fails
...There is a growing consensus that voter backlash to both Trump and the unpopular health care bill could cost Republicans mightily in the 2018 midterm elections. An election map that should have been favorable to Republicans is running headfirst into a country that dislikes the Republican president, and a motivated opposition that appears ready to come out and vote.
House Republicans have seen the angry town hall crowds. They know what Democrats faced when they passed the Affordable Care Act. Congressional Republicans are deeply divided on what to do and scared out of their minds.
The entire health care bill crisis was a self-inflicted wound caused by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan trying to speed rush an ACA replacement bill through Congress.

Trumpcare 2.0 Still Isn’t Cruel Enough to Satisfy Conservatives
DeleteAfter conservatives in the House threatened to block the GOP's plan to repeal and replace Obamacare, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) released an amendment Monday night aimed at cutting even more benefits for the poor. The Republican plan would now make enrolling in Medicaid even more difficult, with states encouraged to add a work requirement for adults who want to get insurance. States would also now be allowed to accept Medicaid as a block grant—a system that would allow state governments to offer fewer health insurance benefits.
Ryan's changes have the support of President Donald Trump, but they apparently don't go far enough to appease right-wing activists.
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/03/ahca-heritage-action-trumpcare-paul-ryan
It seems more and more that the "ideal" GOP health care plan would be lots and lots of "death panels." They seem to think that the only good poor person is a dead poor person. Remember how obsessed Republicans (and especially Sarah Palin) were with the phantom death panels in the original ACA?

Somebody had to take the bullet. There is no way I'd believe that the higher ups at FOX didn't know what Napolitano was going to "report" on his segment.
ReplyDeleteCNN’s Jake Tapper Blasts Fox News For False Statement About Comey Testimony
ReplyDeleteReporting on the Comey testimony was a good test of media credibility. Any network or outlet that tried to downplay the fact that FBI Director admitted that the campaign of the now president is under federal investigation lacks credibility. Any network that doesn’t acknowledge that FBI Director debunked a Trump’s conspiracy theory that Obama wiretapped him can’t be trusted to provide accurate information.
Jake Tapper was correct. What Fox and Friends tweeted was false. Fox News is trying to downplay Comey’s testimony because they want viewers to ignore the Russia scandal. The way Fox is handling the Russia story illustrates how serious and potentially damaging the scandal is for Republicans and Trump.
Fox News can try, but real journalists aren’t going let them mislead America about the Trump/Russia scandal.

REVEALED: FBI wiretapped Trump Tower in 2013 to bust Russian mobsters headquartered inside
ReplyDeleteIt turns out that the FBI did once place a wiretap inside Trump Tower — but it happened back in 2013, and it wasn’t targeted at President Donald Trump or any member of his family.
Via Daily Kos, ABC News reports that the FBI obtained a warrant to eavesdrop on “a sophisticated Russian organized crime money laundering network that operated out of unit 63A in Trump Tower” starting in 2011 and ending in 2013.
ABC News notes that the FBI’s investigation into the mobsters led “to a federal grand jury indictment of more than 30 people, including one of the world’s most notorious Russian mafia bosses, Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov.” Despite the fact that the scheme was being run out of Trump Tower, Trump himself was not implicated in the FBI’s indictment.
Although Tokhtakhounov evaded arrest in the early part of 2013, he did manage to publicly resurface later that year when he appeared at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow in November — where he was spotted near Donald Trump in the VIP section.
Trump in 2013 took to Twitter to express excitement about attending the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow that year, and even wondered if Russian President Vladimir Putin would become his “new best friend.”
http://www.rawstory.com/2017/03/revealed-fbi-wiretapped-trump-tower-in-2013-to-bust-russian-mobsters-headquartered-inside/
The only reason he got canned is because Trump got caught and publicly called out on it.
ReplyDeletePeriod.
It was like a decomposed corpse washing up on the river bank during a massive flood. It came in the form of a brief, cryptic tweet in the whoosh of running online commentary on FBI Director James Comey’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee: “After my sister visited Paul Manafort's hometown as part of her investigation: attempted home break-in, her phone/comp. Hacked, car trashed 2x.”
ReplyDeleteYou had to be at least a part-time detective on the Trump-Russia beat to get the clues. The name of the tweeter, Andrea Chalupa, rang a bell. I looked her up. The sister she referenced was Alexandra, an operative for the Democratic National Committee who in 2015 had begun digging into the affairs of Donald Trump’s campaign chairman at the time, Paul Manafort.
Since the bigtime D.C. lobbyist for developing world kleptocracies was close to pro-Russia elements in Ukraine, Chalupa began to suspect Moscow would have some sort of connection to the Trump campaign. She didn’t pay much attention at first, because Trump’s campaign was just a clown show. But then he got traction and she looked again. And then came the suspected Russian hacks of the DNC, including her own email account. Even stranger things began to happen, as her sister’s tweeted shorthand reminded everyone on Monday afternoon.
Yes, there had been an “attempted home break-in” last year, in her leafy, virtually crime-free neighborhood of northwest Washington, D.C., as Politico’s Kenneth P. Vogel and David Stern reported in January. Her iPhone was hacked, too, and a death-metal track popular in Russia appeared on her playlist. Her car was broken into and trashed twice, with nothing stolen. The second time, the burglar left a red, traditional Ukrainian blouse draped across the back seat. She reported the incidents to the D.C. police and FBI, which by then had opened a counterintelligence investigation into Russian subversion. No arrests have been made.
More strange things have happened since, to her and some of her friends, that she’s not ready to go public about. But she did say that, like virtually everyone else in official Washington, she was glued to the TV Monday for the House Intelligence Committee hearing on Moscow’s campaign to destroy Hillary Clinton, put Donald Trump in the White House and rattle Americans’ faith in their core institutions. Over five and a half hours, the star witness of the astonishing event, FBI Director James Comey, absolutely obliterated the credibility of the increasingly unhinged president of the United States.

‘There’s a Smell of Treason in the Air’
ReplyDeleteFBI and NSA chiefs verify a Russia probe and refute the president's claims as Republicans scramble to pretend the "drip, drip, drip" hasn't started.
...And yet, as presidential historian Douglas Brinkley told The Washington Post, “There’s a smell of treason in the air. Imagine if J. Edgar Hoover or any other FBI director would have testified against a sitting president? It would have been a mindboggling event.”
But here we are, adrift in a Cloud Cuckoo Land of prevarication and incompetence in which little seems capable of boggling or driving our minds agog these days and where the truth shall not set you free but subject you to ridicule from the rabid trolls of the right.
And still there is hope.

Nunes should be investigated for treason.
Nunes must keep his head in the sand too. For someone in his position, head of the House Intelligence Committee, he should have know quite a bit about the complete cast of characters. Their names have been bandied about now for almost a year. But, maybe like many of his GOP colleagues, he just lies a lot. It seems to be the most common GOP feature of the year.

Eric Trump's winery is hiring foreign workers because U.S.-born workers don't want the job
Donald Trump vowed to "buy American and hire American,” but like everything coming out of his mouth, it was a bunch of bullshit. The Denver Post reports that Eric Trump’s winery has asked his dad’s government for permission to hire dozens of foreign workers because—get this—U.S.-born workers don’t want the jobs:
Trump Vineyard Estates, better known as Trump Winery, has asked to bring in 29 workers this season through the federal H-2A visa program, The Daily Progress reported.
The Charlottesville-area winery is owned by Eric Trump, whose father has called on businesses to hire Americans.......
As for Eric Trump, applying for foreign workers as his dad says he’ll bring back jobs seems to be a regular thing:
Trump Vineyard Estates had initially applied for six foreign workers in December. Two months later, the company applied for 23 more.
Donald Trump himself has done the same, bringing in dozens of workers to his Mar-a-Lago resort (not “Winter White House”) last year. Cumulatively, “Trump's Mar-a-Lago property company has applied for more than 500 visas for foreign workers since 2010.”
That right there takes some major gall: hiring foreign laborers as you also demonize them for supposedly stealing American jobs in order to win the presidency.

Trump has a history of hiring foreigners. They're cheaper and it's a lot easier not to treat them properly (for example, longer work hours, etc.). During the campaign there were reports about the Polish workers brought in for one of his construction jobs. And then there are two of his three wives.

ReplyDeleteAnd I pointed out... five-to-one?
Is that Fox News' idea of "fair" and/or "balanced"?
This is a simple story. Trump owes money, has mental problems, sexual problems, drug problems, and now global mob problems. Just think old trump the businessman would be building that trump tower in Moscow if he did not take that elevator down to hell. He would just be lying and dealing with his rape cases and land take overs. Now he will be charged with treason and espionage instead.
