I am not entirely sure what point they were trying to make with this tweet, as there were a WHOLE LOT of questions that James Comey answered in a similar fashion.FBI Director Comey refuses to deny he briefed President Obama on calls made by Michael Flynn to Russia. pic.twitter.com/cUZ5KgBSYP— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
This one on the other hand was pretty obvious as the White House was clearly hoping this would stop people from suggesting that the Russians stole the election for Trump. The NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence electoral process. pic.twitter.com/d9HqkxYBt5— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
However as Wonkette points out this tweet was actually refuted during the still ongoing hearing:
In this clip, Nunes is asking whether there is any clear evidence that Russian interference literally flipped vote tallies (like on voting machines) in specific states. Comey and Rogers say no. That is VERY DIFFERENT from saying “Russia did not influence [the] electoral process.” This is simply a #FakeNews lie from the White House, and as such, it can fuck right off.
For the record, JUST NOW, a Democrat asked Comey to respond to this tweet, and he said he did NOT intend to give the impression the Trump White House is giving, with its lie tweet. JUST FYI.
Also fairly clear why the WH likes this answer because if somebody had not leaked the fact that Mike Flynn was drunk dialing Russia Trump would not have had to fire his ass.NSA Director Rogers tells Congress unmasking individuals endangers national security. pic.twitter.com/jTwjPINvNh— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
And then would we ever have learned that he was working as a foreign agent for Turkey?
Yeah, no shit!FBI Director Comey says classified leaks to the media have been “unusually active” recently. pic.twitter.com/WumDJSqaFA— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
People are worried about the future of our country. Of course they are leaking!
Here the WH is hinting that perhaps the Obama folks are the source of all the leaks.FBI Director Comey admits Obama’s White House had ability to “unmask” American citizens. https://t.co/gIo6it9NcQ— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
Wow, so subtle.
To be clear this is only saying that in the intelligence report from January of this year there was no evidence of collusion.FBI Director Comey: fmr. DNI Clapper "right" to say no evidence of collusion between Russia and Trump Campaign. #ComeyHearing pic.twitter.com/MqBG2xd4s7— President Trump (@POTUS) March 20, 2017
However neither Comey nor NSA Director Rogers would comment on what they have learned since that report.
All in all these tweets smell of desperation.
What we DID learn definitely today is that there is NO evidence that the Obama Administration wiretapped Trump Tower, and that there IS an ongoing FBI investigation into Trump's campaign ties to Russia.
You will notice that the WH did not tweet about either of those facts.
So to be clear Trump was once again shown to be a liar, and is currently being investigated for possible collusion with the foreign government that hacked our election.
I wonder what Trump's blood pressure is right now. His little fingers are certainly going into overdrive on Twitter. If he were smart, he'd keep those fingers "quiet."
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
I don’t think that is him on twitter, it is the POTUS account and little fingers donnie usually uses the @ real donnie account. Besides he can’t golf and twitter at the same time.
DeleteIt maybe president bannon on the POTUS acct :)
Shhhhh. Let's hope he tweets himself right out of the White House and into an appropriate orange suit to match his hair.
Delete@2:01, he uses both accounts. He thought it was so important to tweet about Ivanka's poor treatment by Nordstrom, that after he tweeted from his own account, he tweeted it again from the potus account.
DeleteKept expecting Trey Gowdy to tell the FBI that they need to stop with the Russia investigation and start investigating real problems like Clinton's connection to Comet Pizza.
ReplyDeleteExactly! I'm awaiting the day when Goudy’s head does a 360 and it is all over for him. He, like Trump, is insane.
DeleteI hate Trey Gowdy so much. I wish he would go down with Trump, Pence and the rest of these bastards.
DeleteBanjo Boy in Deliverance
DeleteAnd supposedly he is throwing himself (another) rally tonight in Kentucky. Could you imagine how Sarah, Foxnews, Breitbart, ect. would react if Obama continually threw himself rallies AFTER the inauguration?
ReplyDeleteHe has to make sure all those poor folks in Appalachia don't hear the truth about trumpcare.
Delete.
DeleteWaste taxpayers money....is what the fat old delusional ugly faced guy is doing..
It would be funny if they started chanting, lock him up!!!!
DeleteHe is a Narcissist. He Needs to hear the people yelling his name and giving him the adulation he has to have. They can never get enough of this. Narcissists are a bottomless well of needy that can never be filled.
DeleteRight. It's like worrying abut the asteroid strike compared to one's chances of a car accident on an icy Appalachian road.
DeleteThey are soooo grateful T.Rump is protecting them from the Russki/commies, but they'll be starved, frozen, cancer and other disease riddled corpses becuase of T.rump's policies before the Kremlin moves beyond Moscow.
@2:08
DeleteIt's too late, Bernie's 'town hall' was aired(Chris Hayes), in trumpville W. Va, and he got a standing ovation when he said health care should be one of our rights in this country. This was in a coal mining county tht went totally red for dRumpf.
Flop sweat stinks even in $10,000 suits.
ReplyDelete100 secret service for what?? Also did they charge the airfare/lodging to the taxpayers?
ReplyDeleteEnough of this crap, meanwhile daddy dearest is cutting Sesame Street . One weekend of the trumps in Aspen would have covered the yearly budget!!!
============================
Trump golfs (again) and the rest of the family jets off for a costly vacation ski weekend in Aspen
While Donald Trump spent his weekend playing golf for the tenth time in eight weeks, the rest of the family reportedly jetted off to Aspen, Colorado. From The Aspen Times:
The Trump family is expected to arrive in Aspen late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, along with about 100 Secret Service agents, a source said.
"It's a big gathering," the source said.
Another Aspen area law enforcement source said the Trump visitors to Aspen will include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump and their families. That source, however, said the number of agents in town will likely be quite a bit less than 100.
One hundred agents? That can’t be cheap. Sounds like a lovely U.S. taxpayer-funded family weekend. Ivanka’s had a busy week of meeting with world leaders like German Chancellor Angela Merkel in her role as …? As of yet she has no official role, but she keeps finding her way to meetings. Now she’ll relax and meet her brothers, who are running Trump’s companies now, and they will most definitely not talk business. Pinky swear!
Whether it is 100 agents or 50 agents, we seem to have endless money to fly Trump and his family, along with a high security contingent, to vacation spots and Trump-branded properties around the world. Ivanka Trump, one of those adult children, is married to Jared Kushner, an actual billionaire. Couldn’t the family be picking up their own security tab? Reimbursing the working class voters they claim to represent? Of course, it should be noted that somehow we can afford all of this travel and protection, but we cannot afford to deliver food and smiles to millions of elderly homebound citizens. When will taxpayers say “enough!”?

Ivanka is another family member getting security clearance! WTF?
DeleteShe will be adviser to her lying, ignorant sperm donater. An office on 2nd floor of West Wing awaits her!
How many on taxpayer paid salaries now? Jared, Ivanka and? New position salaries for advisers like Bannon? All add up to ongoing payment including the trips!
Pensions anyone?
We cannot afford these selfish, self-serving idiots - out with ALL the Drumpf family - NOW!
Run the Trumps out of the White House before they make our country fail completely as well as having more wars around the world.
DeleteThey are evil folks - every damn one of them! Rich, white people that have no method in relating to the medium income and poor Americans throughout our country.
The fat, white blob needs to be impeached. He is not qualified to run our country. Plus, he is a known liar and fraud! The boy/man utterly repulses me!
And Spicey said this:
ReplyDelete“There’s a point at which you continue to search for something that everybody who has been briefed hasn’t seen or found. ... So you can continue to look for something, but continuing to look for something that doesn’t exist, doesn’t matter,” Spicer said, without any hint of irony.
Emails. Wiretapping of T.Rump Tower. .. and Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi.
Ask crypt keeper Gowdy, Seany.
How long can someone keep this bs up, without having themselves committed to the loony bin, or losing their last grip on sanity in some spectacular way. And I mean Spicy, not T.Rump. Making an assumption here that Spicey was sane, before he took this job. T.Rump has always been a megalomaniac, narcissistic lost cause for being humane or sane.
What can you expect from someone that plays the Easter Bunny on the white house lawn?
DeleteOn that first tweet, well uh, gee, he was PRESIDENT Obama at the time. Why wouldn't the FBI brief hi on a foreign enemies attacks on US democratic processes? Just another weak T.Rump attempt to undermine President Obama's legitimacy.
ReplyDeleteThe more they try, the stronger President Obama's legacy gets. "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."
DeleteThe Russians did not have to mess with the ballots. They didn't have to.

WOW! So, a POTUS has nothing better to do than sit and watch TV and tweet about it...
ReplyDeleteSMHID
I see, by his twitter, that Trump is back in a manic state of his mental illness. That is not surprising with a person with a BPD when they get caught up in all of their lies.
ReplyDeleteI've tracked Russia's global disinformation network for 2 decades. Putin's lie machine now includes the White House.

Fox News pulls Judge Napolitano over his Trump wiretap claims
ReplyDeletex News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano is being kept off the air indefinitely amid the controversy over his unverified claims that British intelligence wiretapped Drumpf Tower at the behest of former President Obama.
Fox News did not respond to inquiries about Napolitano’s status Monday. Napolitano was conspicuously missing from the network’s coverage of the confirmation hearings on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch — an event in which he typically would have played a significant role. He has not been on the air since Thursday.
People familiar with the situation who could speak only on the condition of anonymity said Napolitano is not expected to be on Fox News Channel any time in the near future. Napolitano was not available for comment.

Can you imagine what it is like to be around Trump tonight? He is so used to getting his way. But there is no way around his treason. It will take some time, but he will be impeached. Of this, I have no doubt.
ReplyDeleteJust like GWB's yellowcake in Africa, Russiagate is now becoming about leaked info. Comey's strings are easy to pull.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/RoguePOTUSStaff
The fact that this tweeting occurred is way more horrifying than the fact that it contains the usual lies and schoolyard gotcha taunts. It's a nightmare for our country and while I obviously am all for commenting on blogs we all also need to get out and organize for the next election and keep on beating the crap out of our elected representatives. This shit ain't funny.

ReplyDeleteThe president’s official Twitter account is spreading falsehoods about the Comey hearing
He’s peddling blatantly misleading claims about Russia’s involvement in the election.
...If you’re generally predisposed to give the Kremlin a pass, the exchange superficially appears to back Trump’s repeated insistence that Russian interference in the election had no effect on the outcome of the race.
But Comey and Rogers were actually answering a very specific question — whether or not Russian hackers changed actual vote tallies in the crucial battleground states that decided the election. They were clearly not saying what Trump claims they were.
“Do you have any evidence that Russian cyber actors changed vote tallies in the state of Michigan?” House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chair Devin Nunes asked Rogers.
“No, I do not, but I would highlight we are a foreign intelligence organization, not a domestic intelligence organization, so it would be fair to say we are probably not the best organization to provide a more complete answer,” Rogers replied.
“How about the state of Pennsylvania?”
“No, sir.”
Nunes proceeded to ask the same question regarding Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, to which Rogers provided the same exact response.
Then Nunes turned to Comey and asked the same question.
“Comey, do you have any evidence at the FBI that any votes were changed in the states that I mentioned to Adm. Rogers?” Nunes asked.
“No,” Comey said.
Contrary to Trump’s tweet, Comey and Rogers are not denying that Russia interfered with the election. They’re instead saying they don’t have any evidence that hackers actually changed the vote counts by manipulating the machines doing the tallying or somehow casting fraudulent ballots.
The Trump tweet is not only making a false claim about the matter being discussed in the clip; it’s also at odds with an already established fact: There’s a consensus in the intelligence community that Russia interfered with the election to help Trump win the White House.

Comey’s testimony humiliates Trump
ReplyDelete...That testimony is not “fake.” Trump cannot change the fact that his own national intelligence team is attempting to determine whether a foreign power tried to manipulate our election. Try as he might, there is no way for Trump to discount or conceal that reality. The stone-faced Comey crisply providing definitive, unemotional testimony that was compelling, as was that of National Security Agency chief Michael S. Rogers, who, with furrowed brow, often answered with a simple yes or no.
Comey’s statement was not surprising, but it was nevertheless devastating. To hear the head of the FBI in essence call the president a liar or wide-eyed conspiratorialist is bracing, if not humiliating, for the chief executive. And reflecting on the morning tweet, Trump now seems desperate, childish and vulnerable. He’s been tripped up by his own grandiose lies. At some level he must know it.
Perhaps now Republicans can stop treating the president’s outbursts seriously. They need to call them what they are: Wild lies and accusations designed to distract from the very real investigation into Russian attempts to throw the election his way. In just a few brief lines, Comey eviscerated whatever credibility Trump still had. Whether the intelligence agency will find evidence of collusion remains to be seen. But what we do know is that Trump will not be able to lie his way through this nor distract the public.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/right-turn/wp/2017/03/20/comeys-testimony-humiliates-trump/
FBI Director James Comey dealt President Donald Trump a stinging rebuke on Monday at a time of acute political vulnerability for the White House.
ReplyDeleteIn his opening statement before the House Intelligence Committee, Comey confirmed that the FBI is investigating Russia’s interference in the presidential election, and whether any of Trump’s associates collaborated with Vladimir Putin’s government.
On another day, in another time, that would be the bombshell. But Comey said more, establishing that the president’s charge his predecessor had wiretapped him was false. Working systematically, tweet by explosive tweet, under questioning from lawmakers Comey repeatedly insisted there was “no evidence” to substantiate Trump’s March 4 claims.
Nothing to prove Barack Obama had ordered phones tapped at Trump Tower. Nothing to indicate Obama had somehow subverted Nixon-era safeguards enacted to prevent abuses of power and protect Americans from top-secret foreign electronic surveillance programs. No reason to conclude Obama had violated the rules of a decades-old intelligence alliance and solicited a foreign ally to carry out the spying.
“I’m not going to try and characterize the tweets themselves,” Comey said. “All I can tell you is we have no information that supports them.”
Taken in sum, the same FBI director who boosted Trump’s political fortunes in the closing days of the presidential campaign by acknowledging his agency had reopened an investigation into rival Hillary Clinton’s use of private email dealt the president one of the worst political blows of his young administration. The damage comes at perhaps the worst possible time.
