The Trump Administration's incompetence is destroying Obamacare's stability, while having no real plan to replace it.

Here let me wave this pamphlet around so it looks like we are actually trying to do something.
Courtesy of LA Times:

Health insurers across the country are making plans to dramatically raise Obamacare premiums or exit marketplaces amid growing exasperation with the Trump administration’s erratic management, inconsistent guidance and seeming lack of understanding of basic healthcare issues.

The growing frustration with the Trump administration’s management — reflected in letters to state regulators and in interviews with more than two dozen senior industry and government officials nationwide — undercuts a key White House claim that Obamacare insurance marketplaces are collapsing on their own.

Instead, according to many officials, it is the Trump administration that is driving much of the current instability by refusing to commit to steps to keep markets running, such as funding aid for low-income consumers or enforcing penalties for people who go without insurance.

“All this uncertainty is not helpful,” warned Blue Shield of California Chief Executive Paul Markovich, who said health plans were being forced to make plans to raise premiums to account for the turmoil, jeopardizing Americans’ coverage.

So essentially this will force health insurance prices to rise, which the Republicans will try to blame on the Democratic health plan, while in fact it is THEIR mismanagement that is the source of the problem.

The Republicans are also not interested in actually replacing the Affordable Care Act with their own health care plan because then they own all of the problems that will ultimately result from it.

And sadly their constituents are nowhere near smart enough to figure this out anytime soon.

That is why it is important to remind these knuckle draggers that the Democrats had plans in place to make the ACA work well for everybody, and to keep insurance prices affordable.

Every problem that has arisen since its implementation was NOT due to the actual bill, but instead to GOP obstructionism.

"A White House official said in a statement that the administration had made a commitment to Congress to make the payments only for the month of May. “No final decisions have been made at this time, and all options are on the table,”
he would end the payments, that doing so would bring Democrats to the negotiating table as Republicans attempt to repeal Obamacare.
According to the Politico report, many in the Trump administration are skeptical of this argument, fearing it would backfire politically "

  2. I'll never understand how someone can garner so much glee and joy from the pending catastrophes they have set in motion for others. Diabolical poops.

I'm 51 and just retired but still do some contract work for supplemental income. I just found out that the Medicaid ceiling next year in AK is nearly 22 grand annual income so I plan to make myself "poor enough" next year to get onto Medicaid since it seems that my ACA through Premera might take a hit.

Sucks to end up as "part of the system" but I guess at my age I shouldn't be too proud to do that if it ends up being the best option.

I'd prefer to not go broke paying for a terrible policy when there is always the Medicaid option; spending all of your income on healthcare kind of ruins the "golden years", especially when I have at least 15 more years to opt into the Medicare I paid into for the last 30 years, and the Social Security that will doubtful be solvent by the time I age into it.

Age 50-65 is definitely a gray area regarding health care.

Be aware Medicaid in AK is greatly reducing services. Physicians are limited too. Giving up pursuing healhcare at 51, when you reasonably have thirty years plus left of active life is a tremendous gamble.

It appears that the bald guy on the right, Greg Walden R-Oregon (Hood River, Oregon) will see challengers in his next race. He is the only Republican congressman from Oregon. That a guy who lives in Hood River asserts that he represents Oregonians in the rural farming areas of Oregon is laughable. But he is an R so that might be all the farmers, etc. want.

These Republican fuckers in Congress could give a shit less for the poor amongst us! They could give a rats ass if someone gets sick, can't get their required care and die.

I deplore them and will do everything in my power to get them voted out of office next time each of them comes up for reelection - IF they actually run again.

May every one of them experience the most painful death that can occur in our world today. Hell truly does await every one of their souls! What is wrong with these white, middle-aged and elderly men sitting in Congress? The truly are sick of mind!

  6. wasn't an ACA fan, but this atrocity the GOP has put out is entirely unacceptable... Federal Mandated Insurance or a FINE is UNACCEPTABLE. PERIOD.
NONE of this has anything to do with ACTUAL Healthcare... it is a forced movement to line insurance companies pockets.... if we could AFFORD to go the doctor or hospital we WOULDN'T NEED FUCKING INSURANCE... Doctors & hospitals are the ROOT of UNAFFORDABLE care

    2. No. Doctors and hospitals aren't.

      Insurance companies are.

And the uninsured that use emergency rooms like it was a routine doctor's visit.

Then there is malpractice, that rises insurance that is passed on it higher costs.

And Big Pharma, that is lining their pockets by using rules and regulations to charge all the market can bear and beyond. (Shkreli ring a bell?) It has nothing to do with research costs and everything to do with avarice and greed.

I think the bottom line that is shared among all of this is the for profit component that puts paying dividends and investors above everything else.

The only thing that is going to solve this problem is Universal Healthcare.

Everything you imply that you hate about the current ACA is a result of obstruction by and appeasement directed at the REPUBLICANS. Not content, they are now out to sabotage it all and just leave the U.S. citizens out to dry.

You want a look at those "death panels"? Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, Reince Priebus and don't forget almost every REPUBLICAN in Congress.

Trump Told Russians That Comey Was a "Nut Job," as FBI Investigation Inches Closer to the White House

The two big stories came as Trump departed for his first overseas trip as president

.....Moments later, the Washington Post reported that a current White House official in Trump's inner circle is now under scrutiny in the Russia investigation:

The law enforcement investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign has identified a current White House official as a significant person of interest, showing that the probe is reaching into the highest levels of government, according to people familiar with the matter.

The senior White House adviser under scrutiny by investigators is someone close to the president, according to these people, who would not further identify the official.
The White House did not dispute this report either. Both reports came out shortly after Trump departed for his first overseas trip as president.

Venezuelan leader to Trump: 'Get your pig hands out of here

By JOSHUA GOODMAN and CHRISTINE ARMARIO - The Associated Press

BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro is delivering his most scathing critique of U.S. President Donald Trump yet, telling him to "get your pig hands out of here."

Maduro's comments come a day after the Trump administration slapped sanctions against eight members of Venezuela's Supreme Court, accusing them of damaging the nation's democracy.

Speaking Friday, Maduro told supporters Trump should stop intervening in Venezuela's affairs.
"Go home, Donald Trump!" he yelled in English......

I'm 55yrs old. Was offered insurance by my current employer. It was $180/mo for single coverage. $5000 deductible and 60/40 coverage. Thank God for ACA so I could decline that pile of shit.

Hey I try not to be a fuddy duddy. But healthcare for profit is not the answer. We must eliminate the insurance and go straight universal healthcare. Keep medicare for 65 plus and everyone under on universal healthcare owned by the people. Everyone pays in one way or another. All healthcare is owned by the people. All this switch and bait shell game is wrong. Insurance does not manage healthcare cost. They are profiting not curing or managing. Same thing with schools, prisons and so called religion for profit. It must stop. It is a money seeking fu*k fest.

Time to identify the major society problems.
If we want our children stable and our country sound we must identify the major problems.
Of course we know money is the root of all evil.
So where is the money? Where is the cost? Where is the problem?
Lets start with Alcohol. Our society is media influenced to drink. It is cool to drink on every holiday, every game day, every reason. Stop that. Do people realize that they can enjoy a sports event or any event without booze?
Next is Environment, when do we stop and regulate the toxic everything in air water soil and food?
And when do we adjust back to the consumer instead of greedy citizen united free for all? When do we stop the flood of military style weapons on our streets?
When will we acknowledge that cell phones are hazard to health causing a generation of brain tumors, cancers and new mental type issues.
If we worked on those issues healthcare cost would drop. Kids would grow up with some respect and manners. And the greedy would refocus on luxury items to sell instead of fleecing consumers and destroying the environment for a quick buck.
It makes me think of corporations and billionaires such as Apple, Gates, Facebook, and the likes.

The Anti-Health Care Act sure does have a shiny cover and it's short too, so no real substance. Two things that will attract GOP votes in Congress!
