In a video posted by ABC News, several NFL fans are shown burning season tickets and NFL licensed gear in relation for teams or individual players kneeling (or stay in the locker room) during the national anthem on Sunday.
"I'm a season-ticket holder, love the NFL, always have, always been a huge fan," Rodney Heard from Indiana said on a video shared on Facebook. "Wish I could have played in the NFL, if I'd have the athletic ability. Instead I went into the Marine Corps, I served my country, my grandfathers served our country, both of them fought in World War II. There are a lot of people who fought and died for that flag and to disrespect it like you did yesterday, I'm done."
Damn Trump supporters are ignorant.
But I guess if they weren't they would not be Trump supporters.
I don't think there is any way to explain to these idiots that taking a knee before the game is not to protest the military veterans or the flag, any more than you could explain to them that BLM is not a racist group attempting to suggest that ONLY black lives matter.
Simply put they are unreachable.
But I can guarantee you that once this whole thing blows over that they will rush right out and replace those tickets, pendants, and jerseys again.
Until then I guess they can always watch NASCAR.
Jim Wright today:
ReplyDeleteMaking someone salute the flag with your boot on their throat is not patriotism. It's fascism.
Repeat this until you understand it.
Nobody has any boots to the throats stopping them from protesting.
Delete4:27 PM -
Delete"I'm burning everything!"
Sure they do.
There are places where it is acceptable to shoot anyone that is not patriotic according to Trump. A boot on their throat would be better.
DeleteDeplorables have shown right along how stupid they are. Burning their money like that is just another step in their idiocy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good thing for collectors of these products.
Delete21 hOURs: "started kneeling at 7 AM on Monday of this week, and his protest on the Diag attracted nearly 100 teachers and students to take a knee with him. He was also accompanied by hundreds more who gathered around him in solidarity,"

they burned their tickets. expensive protest. we are disrespecting our flag, our anthem, our vets, or our country. we don't like what the child in office and his followers are doing and we have the right to a peaceful protest. see any guns here? and for you missing teeth, driving a rusted out pickup.eating possums kind of folk-yes fascism is a big word. it's what nazis in Germany were-you know ww2- and i't is what nazis and alt right people are today. i'm white.
ReplyDeleteI'm white as well, 4:20. And NOT proud of it because that makes me a LITTLE bit like Humpty Trumpty.
DeleteAnd I am also a veteran!
Oh you poor thing suffering from liberal white guilt disease.
Delete4:52?
DeleteSTUFF IT! Just because you can't recognize empathy and/or an agreement with the legalities of a problem does not help your cause any.
4:52 PM -
DeleteLiberal white guilt. hahaha
Read the Sermon On The Mount.
Geez.
I'm white, and OK with it. I know my ancestors had slaves, in fact we still own our family planation and operate it as tourist property with the slave sheds intact and the breeding records of the slaves on view for people to see in a museum type setting.
DeleteIt was a time in history, a time where white people had black slaves. We weren't the only country that did it and for anyone to feel shame because of being white is just so misguided because it changes nothing.
Our family no longer holds slaves, (duh) but we can't change the fact that we did and when people tour the family plantation they learn about the harsh realities of what slavery meant. Hint: a lot of it wasn't good for the slaves but the tour guides don't "whitewash" it for the guests.
White guilt changes nothing.
@ 7:10
DeleteWho said anything about "guilt"?
You clearly suffer from liberal white guilt disease Leland.
Delete"I don't think there is any way to explain to these idiots that taking a knee before the game is not to protest the military veterans or the flag,"
ReplyDeleteWell if that's the case, why do are they always coincidentally doing it during the national anthem as people pay their respects with their hand over their hearts for what the flag represents and the sacrifices that have been made lol?
Ever knelt in church?
DeleteWhat is your point 4:29? Seems awfully irrelevant with regards to the anthem and the flag.
DeleteTell you what 4:23. Recite the anthem and think about EVERY SINGLE LINE. And when you get to the part that says "and justice for all" Think REALLY hard. THAT'S the line being protested because it is JUST NOT TRUE!
DeleteAnd if you believe it to BE true, you are part of the problem. Just like Humpty Trumpty.
Leland, people have every right to dislike and vocalize that they feel this is a disrespectful display, and think it is the wrong venue for a protest- even if they support the general cause. Deal with it. Free speech is a two way street.
Delete4:48, you are most certainly correct - until one looks closely at what is being said by those who claim it is an attack on the flag. Just because the ones claiming it believe Humpty Trumpty and his
Deletetypical facist twisting of a question, does NOT mean I have to NOT deny them their argument when it is drastically wrong.
That kneeling practice was ALWAYS about police brutality. It was that way before Humpty Trumpty took office. Claiming it as an insult to the flag and veterans is Humpty's way of trying to stop it.
That is NOT something I should be silent about - because you're right. Free speech IS a two way street.
Why do you think the flag is about just the military? That's just weird. It's supposed to symbolize the country - and right now, this country, the USA isn't living up to its ideals or even its own laws. THere's a Russian installed dotard orange shitgibbon occupyign the WH, and teh police are practicing uncehceked brutality and murdering innocent black people, and harrassing brown people just becuase they are brown people. Most of us don't want to be complicit in that immorality. As a matter of fact, we seek to protest and then right injustice. You know, the morally praiseworthy thing to do. But it seems you have a problem with doing the right thing.
Delete@4:23
DeleteThat flag represents the country -
and things like its Constitution the first of amendment of which is... freedom of speech. Nowhere does it say the flag represents the military. You might want to try a little reading, educating yourself and a little logic. ALas, your are blind in the "he who doesn't read sense," too old to educate yourself and too stupid to be logical.
Funny 4:48, we'r enot saying you can't speak abotu it - but we are showing your argument to be fallacious. Difference! We also aren't claiming your boss shoudl fire you for that speech. You, and the dotard shitgibbon, are. Also difference.
DeleteYou really are dumb.
5:37, 5:40 and 5:42. Liberal nutjobs lol. Well the ratings eventually will show who wins this battle.
DeleteBTW Leland. This whole thing started because Kaepernick realized his career was going down the tubes and he needed to draw attention to himself. His American hating girlfriend helped him with the scheme. Now he is unemployed, mostly because he just isn't starter material in the NFL.
What happened over the weekend had nothing to do with Kaepernick or the cause, and everything to do with the Presidents speech and hating on Trump. The owners of the teams are caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.
My guess is because all anyone with any skin in the game really cares about is money and ratings, is that you will see much less of this on TV or even discussed during the games. It is doubtful you will see the owners repeat kneeling on the field with their teams much longer. They feel they have done their part to satisfy both sides, but they know where the money is.
It is likely that dumbass Kaepernick will never play in the NFL again. That is the funniest part. He probably could have picked up another five years as a well paid NFL second string if he hadn't pulled his immature shenanigans.
"lol"! Drink!!
Delete@6:15
DeleteSo, reads like your principles would be 'for sale'. No wonder you support DJT.

I need to make a correction. In my posting timed at 5:26 I typed facist. I am wrong in that. The word I should have used is Fascist.
DeleteWhat Humpty Trumpty is trying to do is reframe the argument to better suit HIS ideas and plans. To incite hatred and abuse on a perfectly legal protest. Exactly what Hitler and the Fascist did. Only in their case, they blamed everything on the Jews. The POS can CLAIM it isn't about racism all he wants, but that is how it is interpreted by his "true believers" and he sits back and chuckles.
@ 6:15.
DeleteDespite what YOU think was the reason for it happening the first time, it has grown into a legitimate protest method utilized by many in the NFL. And it is accurate. There is no justice for all in this country.
This method of protest is exactly like the right to NOT stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. A lot of people think it is totally wrong to not stand and repeat it and many people pay the illegal price for living up to their convictions.
@6:15 Truth about >"mostly because he just isn't starter material in the NFL." YOUR SO SURE?

Hey @615, how do you feel about the Tiki Torch guys never working again?
DeleteJust wondering.
I do however agree with you on one point: the ratings will show just what kind of legs the boycott has, although it might be tricky to separate the effect of growing awareness of CTE. In any case, I trust you will check back in in a few months to see how your little cause is going. In the meantime, btw, how are those Starbucks and Disney boycotts working out for you?
10:03, if he was starter material in the NFL he would have a job. Your link is to a PBS podcast of a sports writer/ACTIVIST lol!
DeleteIf Kaepernick was good enough, he would have a job. It is that simple. As many of you said, the NFL allows criminals and wife/girlfriend beaters to return. Do you know why? They are that good. Football is entertainment, modern day gladiators.

Rather than throwing away $100s of dollars in season tickets why not donate them to veterans groups so others less advantaged can have a few hours of entertainment .. as to NFL gear/wear, again, donate it to youth groups so those who can't afford it can enjoy the items .. so shortsighted and deplorable. Oh, and also it's not about disrespecting the flag duhhhhh
ReplyDeleteJunk Yard Dog complex.
DeleteThey don't want it and they don't want anyone else to have it either.
Which is pretty stupid considering how many hundreds of dollars they spent and that the NFL has their money, whether they show up to the game or not.
The athletes, like anyone, have the right to know and say what and why they are doing something. Now Yrump has made an issue that it is something different. He can take anything g and twist it to turn people against others. The fools who burned their tickets and gear got played by Trump.
ReplyDeleteHilarious to see these idiots burning their tickets! What will they do with their sundays, monday nights, and Thursday nights?? Go pray in church? Volunteer at a veterans hospital? I sincerely doubt it.
ReplyDeletePray? Volunteer? hahaha.
DeleteBut it's a big country out there: if one or two idjits (or their wives) burn their tickets, it's national news. One or two idjits do not an effective boycott make.

DeleteFOAD, @542p, and take your racist BS with you.
DeleteYou're imagining other countries don't have other professional athletes who get rich?
Or suggesting that only some people have the right to protest inequality?
The truth is, people like you just can't stand the idea that there are African-Americans -- be they politicians or athletes or whatever -- who have more success, more recognition, and more of a public platform than people like you ever will.
Suck it up, buttercup.

ReplyDeleteCNN Money:
Trump intends to sign executive order on health care next week
By Tami Luhby September 27, 2017: 7:19 PM ET
President Trump is taking the future of health insurance into his own hands.
A day after Congress' last-ditch attempt to repeal Obamacare failed, Trump said he may soon sign an executive order on health care that would affect millions of people.
"I'll probably be signing a very major executive order where people can go out, cross state lines, do lots of things and buy their own health care, and that will be probably signed next week," he told reporters Wednesday. "It's being finished now. It's going to cover a lot of territory and a lot of people. Millions of people."
Read more at
http://money.cnn.com/2017/09/27/news/economy/trump-executive-order-health-care/index.html?category=economy
And it will end up in court and he'll lose just like so many of his executive orders before.
DeleteThe man is a very dangerous imbecile with his stubby little fingers way too close to the nuclear launch codes.
As usual he is hedging his bets with the words PROBABLY.
DeleteACA is a law, isn't it unconstitutional for him to override it with an executive order.
Probably? Sure Jan.
DeleteHe can't legally override a law with an executive order.
DeleteBut all he knows how to do is sign executive orders since Congress hasn't actually passed any laws, except the Russian sanction one.
So executive orders make him feel presidential.
This one, whatever it is, is doomed to go down in court, just like so many of them before.
Poor Donnie, he *wishes* he were Kim Jong Un so he could just disappear people and his tweets were instand law.
Trump fans/ republican base are no different than the idiots over in the Middle East whose first instinct is to use violence as an answer.
ReplyDelete@5:42
ReplyDeleteWell, then you're an idiot. Don't know much about professional football? They do a lot more than "throwing a fucking pigskin". BTW, it's not pigskin anymore.
"ACTIVISM needs to come from people who aren't reaping rewards of privilege".
LOL. Most professional football players did not come from privilege-they earned it. And they pay for it physically.
Activism has not one goddamn thing to do with privilege. Activism comes from seeing a wrong and attempting to rectify it.
Did you see where rapper Pitbull sent his private jet to Puerto Rico to fly out cancer patients? That's activism and showing the fuck up.
Keep telling yourself how unprivileged and ACTIVIST you are. Bet you couldn't 'throw a fucking pigskin'.
Sorry, stupidity pisses me off.

You must get really pissed off every time you pass a mirror.
DeleteMe too.
Delete7:01pm
DeleteHa! You obviously haven't spent any time around privileged high school or college athletes.
Guess what, they have everything handed to them, including grades. My best friend in college lived in the "football" dorm and every weekend the team would pass a few drunk girls around from room to room, before leaving them passed out in the hallway. The RA and campus security turned a blind eye to their weekend rape fests because that team won championships and in turn brought lots of bucks to our school.
There are different rules for star athletes and that certainly smells like privilege to me.
Enough of this crap of turning professional players into some kind of heroes. They are not, they are not contributing to the betterment of society "playing" a game.
DeleteThey are overpaid, it is obscene the amount of money they make, we should be paying teachers what football players earn.
1:24am, what does any of this have to do with peaceful protest? I'm sorry you weren't good enough to make the team, but that doesn't make their activism less valid.
DeleteExactly 1:24... most these athletes are privileged and have been ever since they were acknowledged as having the athletic skills to for college level sports, and way more so if they are good enough to compete at a pro level. 7:01 is clueless. It is a generalization, as some are actually quite smart and educated, but by and large- most get a big pass with lots of tutors just to get them thru the easiest of majors.
DeleteI responded to the same idjit post further up. But one more comment: among the 3 major spectator sports, care to guess which one has the higher average player IQ? Yup, football. Almost all pro players have at least some college; many have degrees. That puts them one up on Sarah Palin and her brood, wouldn'tcha say?
DeleteJill Stein has berserk meltdown after it’s revealed Russia was buying Facebook ads for her during election
ReplyDelete...Jill Stein posted a series of increasingly hyperbolic and dishonest tweets: “Clintonites now trying to convince themselves that a corny Facebook ad is the reason their candidate with a 30% approval rating lost. Wait, so the “democratic” party has been attacking Greens for years… because we inspire non-voters to vote? Dems still trying to blame everyone else for Trump, when the whole world knows DNC got their media cronies to help Trump & sabotage Sanders. Once the ruling elite have lost all credibility, all they can do is censor their critics and smear them as traitors. Why are we under constant attack by the political establishment, the media and Hollywood? Because the elites feel threatened. Keep it up!”
Wait a minute here. Not only does Jill Stein’s rant sound like the kind of unhinged nonsense Donald Trump might tweet, it also touches squarely on the key conservative tactics of attacking the “elites” and “Hollywood.” This further underscores what many of us have long suspected: Stein is a conservative who pretends to hold certain leftist positions as an excuse to enter the race on the far left and take enough votes away from mainstream liberal candidates so as to hand power to the conservatives.
In any case, Jill Stein continues to make herself look more guilty each time she opens her mouth. She had dinner with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump adviser Michael Flynn in Moscow during the election, which she’s never been willing to explain. Now it turns out Russia was buying Facebook ads that promoted her campaign...

ReplyDeleteTrump: NFL owners 'afraid' to take action against kneeling players

ReplyDelete"Trump says the white owners of the NFL are “afraid” of its black players. That’s not “racist dog-whistling.” It’s a “racist public rant.”
2/ When you suggest that accomplished, politically astute black men engaged in peaceful protest are scary, you’re a racist and nothing more.
3/ Today’s headlines should read, “President Goes on Racist Rant on Fox News, Says Peacefully Protesting Black NFL Players Scare People.”
4/ The ledes should read: “Today Trump cast himself as whites’ savior—noting that, unlike NFL owners, he’s not afraid of black NFL players.”
5/ Fox News—trying to cover for Trump—*misreports* him as saying owners are afraid to “take action against” rather than “afraid of” players.
6/ “I think they’re afraid of their players” is what Trump *actually* said, Fox News. You can’t clean it up by misreporting it. It’s racist.
7/ America’s white supremacists aren’t unclear on Trump being a racist—they celebrate the fact he is—so why should the rest of us doubt it?
8/ Of course, we also have decades of Trump’s business, personal, and political history to work from in drawing this rather easy conclusion.
9/ A man who doesn’t want to be publicly acknowledged as an unrepentant racist doesn’t speak like this—so let’s just give him what he wants.
10/ If we’d just accept he’s a racist, we could better understand his willingness to let the “shipping industry” control PR relief for days."
