Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Fla.) reportedly did not return to Washington this week due to threats she's received since her comments about President Trump's call to the widow of a fallen soldier.
“She’s home,” Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) told the Miami Herald.
“I have not spoken with her about it, but I’ve heard that she’s received substantial death threats and I think she is doing everything she can to ratchet down and let some of us, including me, take over.”
The last time Wilson voted was on Oct. 12.
A source told the newspaper that "nothing else would keep her from voting," adding that there are investigations into the threats she has faced.
Apparently these ramped up after General Kelly falsely accused Wilson of grandstanding during the dedication of an FBI building, and then attempted to shame her for overhearing a phone call that was broadcast on speaker phone while she was in the car on the way to retrieve the body of Sgt. La David Johnson.
So we now live in a country where the White House Chief of Staff activates the Right Wing flying monkeys to go after critics of his boss.
Of course Rep. Wilson is also a black woman so she was probably already seen as a vulnerable target.
Violence and insanity rode into our country with this false government with the lying, in charge, sick bastard that needs to be ousted as soon as possible.

Killing, guns, cheating, hating, stealing, ignorance, murdering, war, maligning any but white males, and money grubbing are the foundation of Drumpf and his followers and administrative staff and cabinet members. Rip the citizens off for all you can steal before you get caught is their goal.
That this woman should have to endure these attacks for a phone conversation is outrageous! Jail those threatening her. She is a public servant and deserves decent treatment and respect. Recall how silent all the weak Rethugs were when Drumpf was calling Obama an illegitimate citizen. One sided liars who care nothing about the right wing citizens who voted them into office.

ReplyDeleteMany have come forward to accuse, including the then 13-year old that said he assaulted her in the 80's, but all of them have retracted their suits both in civil and criminal court so I guess if they aren't willing to go the full course then why should we care?

I have to believe there is nowhere more safe for her to be than in Washington where there is massive security at the Capital. For that person to announce that she is home in Florida is probably not a good idea as she most likely doesn't have much security there.

This is a disgrace! Rep. Frederica Wilson did nothing wrong. She simply told the unvarnished truth. Despite her sequined hats, her stylish clothes, her impeccably applied makeup, her engaging personality, she is no naive ingenue who doesn't know water is wet! She is a 74-year old distinguished public servant who formerly served as school principal, school board member, community leader, and as regional dire actor of the oldest African American sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Trump & Kelly are blatant racists and liars. Neither of them have honor or integrity. Their consciences are dormant if not dead and gone for good. The good person has to hide away, while the wicked walk unfettered by decency or morality. What a shame. What a damn shame!
