Courtesy of CBS News:
Hillary Clinton only learned about the now-infamous "Trump dossier" after BuzzFeed News posted it, despite the fact that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped fund it, a source confirmed to CBS News.
A former British spy, Christopher Steele, complied the explosive allegations in the 35-page dossier for Fusion GPS during the 2016 campaign. In January 2017, BuzzFeed News published the full dossier, though it contained unsubstantiated allegations.
That Clinton was unaware of the Trump dossier was first reported by The New York Times.
Law firm Perkins Coie, which represented both the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, and Clinton campaign lawyer Marc E. Elias confirmed Wednesday it had retained the firm Fusion GPS in April 2016 to "perform a variety of research services."
I think that the fact that much of the dossier has still not been confirmed is why Elias did not notify Hillary about what it contained.
And if he HAD informed her there is no way that such a careful candidate would have allowed it do be used in campaign ads or mentioned by her surrogates.
To be honest. considering what we know now, it is unlikely that having it out there would have changed the outcome of the election anyhow.
If the "grab them by the pussy" tape was not enough to turn these people off to that pig, it is highly unlikely that mention of the pee pee tape would have done the job either.
Hillary is the gosh darned luckiest politician in the world. She never knows anything that could reflect poorly on her, happening right under her nose. She is often shocked and appalled. Yet at the same time is also the most intelligent, experienced, qualified, and knowledgeable candidate evers....
ReplyDeleteYeah how dare she not be clairvoyant.
DeleteNo wonder she didn't win.

DeleteYou are full of hyperbolic nonsense.
Gryphen, she didn't win because she didn't campaign in those 5 states that could've won her the electoral college, she wasn't present, she took for granted they'd go blue, and guess what, they didn't.
DeleteEven Obama told her how important Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and even Florida were but she spent more time fighting with Bernie and hanging out in her echo chamber blue-for-sure states than she did in the questionable ones.
Nate Silver saw it happening and he's rarely wrong, hell Obama saw it happening but hey it wasn't his campaign to win and a shitty as she and Bill treated him during the 2008 primary I'm pretty sure he was happy to let her find defeat on her own terms.
She didn't win because Trump voters are a bunch of racist, starstruck assholes and Bernies babies are a bunch of crybaby spoilsports. There,I said it.

"Baskaev fingered Putin pal Yevgeny Prigozhin as his former “boss,” or “our guy who gives us money.” But the real head of the American department, he said, was the Azerbaijani-born Dzheykhun Aslanov—known simply as “Jay.”“All six months that I worked there it all looked like farce and clownery,” aka ~IT~

ReplyDelete1 YEAR AGO>"Steele was worried. He had spent several months, as the world now knows, researching connections between Donald Trump and Russia, and he had unearthed information (which was then unconfirmed) indicating that Russia had been trying to co-opt and cultivate Trump for years, that the Trump camp had been trading information with the Russians, and that Vladimir Putin’s regime had gathered compromising material on Trump. (Yes, including the infamous supposed “pee tape.”)
"I have total confidence that @wikileaks and my hero Julian Assange will educate the American people soon #LockHerUp"<Roger Stone tweeted
"Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard examined media references during the campaign and found nearly 70,000 references to Clinton and emails—an important story, to be sure—but just over 5,000 to Trump and Russia. Mentions of “Trump” and “women,” including reporting on his history of sexual harassment and assault, registered just 10,000."
"What we do know—as I’ve written elsewhere—is that Trump and his campaign aides did aid and abet Putin’s plot."At the first presidential debate, he famously said,
“It could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, okay?”
"Steele’s fear, back when he agreed to talk to me—that the United States was not seriously confronting the Russian threat to American democracy—still resonates."

Yeah. Trump is a cult leader. Anything he says and does, his rabid followers foam at the mouth and follow. He knows it too.

Trump’s massive Twitter following is a sham
ReplyDeletePresident Donald Trump and his administration have repeatedly bragged about the size of his following on social media, but Trump’s audience on Twitter—clearly his favorite method of communicating with the public—is inflated with even more fake or inactive accounts than previously believed.
It’s no secret that Trump’s Twitter following is flooded with fake accounts, but new insights into @realDonaldTrump’s Twitter following show just how heavily the president’s social media presence is propped up by a fake foundation of questionable followers.

ReplyDeleteFox News revenues plummet as Trump’s pathetic attempts to prop it up fail miserably
Has Madison Avenue finally had enough of the toxic Fox News brand?
News that a Thursday night guest on Fox, who worked in Donald Trump’s White House until recently, called for the execution of Hillary Clinton might scare off more skittish advertisers about being associated with the network’s dangerous and unseemly programming.
Trump’s constant efforts to prop up the network by praising it on Twitter and in interviews and insisting that Fox is the only media outlet that is not “fake news” does not seem to be helping either.
The fact that the bottom is falling out at Fox News unfolds against a larger backdrop of other conservative media outlets also watching their business tank this year.
Industry traffic estimates suggest sites such as Drudge, Breitbart, IJR, and The Daily Caller are way down compared to last year, Axios recently reported. This, while traffic at several mainstream news and left-leaning sites has surged in 2017.

I think what everyone is saying here is that the "dossier" is a bunch of hooey and not worth the money that whoever paid for it because it if was "a thing" it would have paid off during the election, and it didn't so if it didn't play during the actual election it's doubtful that it will impact anything afterwards.
ReplyDeleteIt did lend some intrigue following the election, but it seems like that is all it did and will ever do.
I think you are trying to say that. Most people are trying to say "let's let Mueller finish his investigation"
Delete"I didn't vote for Hillary because of her emails!"
