Police in Philadelphia say a 3-year-old is in critical condition after being shot in the head by his 6-year-old brother.
Authorities say the younger boy suffered a gunshot wound to the left side of his forehead just after 3pm Saturday at the home on the 3600 block of North 18th Street.
Three boys - aged three, six and 12 - were on the second floor of their north Philadelphia home, alone, when the shooting happened.
The six-year-old grabbed the gun and began shooting, hitting his little brother on the left side of his forehead, according to police.

The father of two young boys has been charged after police say one of his sons shot the other inside their Tioga-Nicetown home.
Action News has learned the father, identified as 36-year-old male Sirhaven Williams, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, even though, police said the gun belonged to the children's uncle who lived at the home.
Of course he's black which might help to explain why the cops are holding him accountable.
If it had been a white father I am sure they would have simply seen it as an unavoidable accident.
When will people finally understand that guns kill, that is their only purpose.
And having one in the house does not protect anybody, instead it puts every member of the household in danger.
I think even if we had a Sandy Hook copycat situation where 80-100 Republican kids were killed would still not keep the NRA and the ammosexuals from supporting sensible gun control legislation.
ReplyDeleteNorth Phila is the saddest part of Phila. Low income, minority and immigrant, drug infested because these people's lives truly suck.Drugs is their economy and their escape. My hospital gives free healthcare to the kids in clinics here . Our nurses are always safe and respected and not hurt by the people, even when doing homecare. They know we are trying to help..

Not fair to blanket the whole section of North Philly, there's sections that's not dirt poor after all some of our elected politicians live in NP. Tell that to the people who get up and work every day and their kids grow up and move out the neighborhood, they took pockets of NP and renamed with other neighborhood, Fairmount, Temple Town, Spring Garden, Center City
