PPP’s newest national poll finds a record level of support for impeaching Donald Trump. 49% of voters support impeaching him, to 41% who are opposed to doing so. This marks the 6th month in a row we’ve found a plurality of voters in favor of impeaching Trump, and it’s the closest we’ve found to a majority.
Trump’s approval rating has declined by a net 7 points in the last month. In September we found him at a -11 spread with 42% of voters approving of him to 53% who disapproved. Now he’s at -18 with 38% of voters approving of him to 56% who disapprove.
Trump claimed last week that he had accomplished more in 9 months than any President in American History, but only 25% of voters believe that claim to 66% who do not, although it’s a notable measure of the ‘Trump cult’ that 55% of those who voted for him do believe he’s the most accomplished to 32% who disagree. Voters actually put his first 9 months in a very different historical context- 49% already say they think he’s the worst President in American History, to 43% who dispute that notion. By a 54/40 margin voters wish Barack Obama was still President instead of Trump, and by a 48/42 spread they wish Hillary Clinton was in the White House rather than Trump.
I really think that as this Mueller investigation continues forward the momentum building toward impeaching Donald Trump may prove irreversible.
Even though it would likely mean allowing Mike Pence, a terrible choice for a variety of reasons, to take over the presidency, it still feels as if that is not enough to make people choose to allow Trump to stay in office.
I think that Trump will fight an impeachment every step of the way, and in the end the damage that he will do to the Republican party could fracture it for all time.
At this point I am not certain if that is a good thing, or a bad thing.
Lol.
ReplyDelete"Public Policy Polling (PPP) is a U.S. Democratic polling firm based in Raleigh, North Carolina. PPP was founded in 2001 by businessman Dean Debnam, the firm's current president and chief executive officer.
In addition to political issues, the company has polled the public on topics such as the approval rating of God, whether Republican voters believe President Obama would be eligible to enter heaven in the event of the Rapture, whether hipsters should be subjected to a special tax for being annoying, and whether Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer."
Lolololololol. Did Bill Palmer send you this all important poll?
Nate Silver gives them a B+ for accuracy.

Its the lol fool.
DeleteHa, and how did Nate do last election Gryph? It seems he offers more opinion than statistics these days since that embarrassment. Not to mention he is liberal and left leaning himself.
DeleteMoving along, putting aside the fact that this is a poll from an obviously biased source.... the accuracy really wouldn't matter anyways would it? As impeachment requires charges, not polls lol.
I'll wager that President Obama will enter the gates of Heaven where Trump will not enter the Gates of Hell!
DeleteJust look at his life which reflects being a very bad boy his entire life! He's way too old to change now and alter his course!
Oh, but he's a 'baby Christian' who has never sinned. And Pat Robertson told him God is on his side and forgives those little indiscretions he finally admitted two. (Not so sure about the mistresses, multiple wives, grabbing women, walking in on undressed teenagers.) I guess old Pat and the rest of the Trump supporters think Trump is far more "christian' than a good woman I can think of who has never cheated on anyone, doesn't lie, and could whip the government into shape in a month.
DeleteSarah? Is this Who are you today?
DeleteWhere is your babysitter at? Quit?
You must be such a joy to be around.
Lol. Only at the IM club, for some totally unknown reason, can one turn a discussion about useless polling into something about christianity and President Obama going to heaven.
DeleteYes 5:37, this is obviously Sarah, I'm eating a crunchwrap.
You're an a$$h@le and an idiot, 447/635p. Nate Silver had much higher odds of a tRump win than any other legit poll because he was the only one who considered the consequences of correlated uncertainties. But "correlated uncertainties" is two SAT words put together & so I'm sure lost on the likes of you. So run along little doggie & go find that crunchwrap.
DeleteThis is just for you 7:21 (and by the way, I don't feel the need to call you any names):
Delete"Just hours before polls open on the East Coast on Tuesday, celebrity pollster Nate Silver’s final — or very nearly final — analysis of a throng of presidential polls shows Democrat Hillary Clinton holding a national lead between 3 and 4 points over Republican Donald Trump.
As of Monday evening, Silver’s ever-shifting prediction model at the website FiveThirtyEight says Clinton currently has a 70 percent chance to beat Trump in Tuesday’s election."
“Clinton is the favorite, and perhaps has a slight wind at her back for Election Day,” Silver writes.
BTW 7:21.... Silver does not do 'polling' or 'polls' as you said he does. No polling for Nate Silver. Did you not know that? Glad I could help you out friend, don't want you to come across as ignorant or anything.
DeleteHere deplorable,is this better for you?

President Donald Trump's approval rating reached the lowest mark it has been in any Fox News poll, 38 percent.
In Fox News' latest poll released Wednesday, the percentage of voters who approve of the president dropped 4 percentage points from September and a full 10 points since the poll's first post-inaugural results in February, while the number of those who disapprove — 57 percent — rose to a new high under his administration. The findings highlight a continued erosion of national support for the president, who received low mark across several major policy areas."

ReplyDeletePro-Trump network wants to put accused sexual predator Bill O’Reilly back on TV
...The idea of bringing O’Reilly back on the air is as outrageous as it revealing. In recent weeks, Newsmax, along with Fox News and other right-wing media outlets, have used the sexual misconduct scandal surrounding Harvey Weinstein as an opportunity for virtue signaling and finger-pointing. The same networks that excused Trump’s admission of sexual misconduct gleefully used the Weinstein scandal to attack liberals, ignoring their own complicity in similar cases.
Getting O’Reilly off the air was a hard won triumph for both his victims and for women more broadly. But GOP media figures have fought since then to drag O’Reilly back into national relevance, with Sean Hannity bringing him onto his show for an interview.
Ruddy’s willingness to give a whole new show to an accused serial sexual predator is symptomatic of a larger problem.
When the accused can be connected to liberals or the Democratic Party, Republicans and right-wing media say the pervasive problem of sexual assault should be taken seriously. But when it involves one of their own, they not only stay silent — they actually advocate for the accused.

GOP lawmaker who brags of “conservative values” quits as sex abuse investigation launches
ReplyDeleteIdaho state Rep. Brandon Hixon abruptly resigned his position, just as reports emerged that he was under investigation for allegations of sexual abuse. Hixon argued that “traditional family values are the foundation of our nation” while campaigning for his seat.
A legal document regarding the jurisdiction of Hixon’s case by the state attorney general indicated that “sexual abuse allegations” are involved.
The Associated Press also obtained records that show Hixson was under investigation in 2014 after he was accused of inappropriate touching while babysitting someone. Police records show that at the time of the allegations, Hixon was concerned about how his political career would be affected.
On his campaign website, which has now been scrubbed from the internet, Hixon bragged about his conservative credentials.
He wrote that had been “fighting for, and upholding our conservative values for over 7 years now,” highlighting his experience “holding various leadership positions within the Republican Party.”
Like many other Republicans, Hixon touted his support for cutting taxes, fighting against “federal orverreach,” and sponsoring “critical 2nd Amendment gun rights protection legislation.” He earned an “A” rating from the NRA.
Hixson called himself “a voice in the fight against abortion” and opposed marriage equality.
He even highlighted that he “fought for food stamp reform.” The topic has been hot button issue among conservative media like Fox News, which has often sought to demonize food stamp recipients while pushing Republicans to restrict that form of help.
Hixon echoed many national conservatives, tying his local race to national politics. He proclaimed, “If you do not want Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid politics in this State, vote Brandon Hixon.”

ReplyDeleteI was feeling a sense of surrealism at that point. It's like out of a dark comedy some of this is happening.
Isn't that the kind of tv Russia and North Korea does? Praising their evil dictators. I mean that woman in her pink flowered kimino and 1950 coiffed hairstyle gleefully announcing that they launched another missile. What kind of world do we live in when leaders have to be bolstered by fake news. Obviously, Donnie wants a piece of that action. I think Putin is mentoring him on all of this. How to take over people and the government. Are we going to be strong enough to withstand the storm? I mean Putin and his bots have already sowed discord in the heart of America. If he is that cunning to trick people what else does he have up his sleeve for us trusting and unwitting souls?
Oh. There is money stashed like seeds in trees all over the world. Birds chirp and a stash spot is found. They THINK they fooled the masses. Well Russia and conspirators did for awhile. Until now.

Hours after Trump calls US justice system 'a laughingstock,' White House denies he ever did
😄 The White House on Wednesday flatly denied that President Donald Trump had ever called the American criminal justice system "a joke and a laughingstock."
😂 The denial came just hours after Trump said precisely that during a televised Cabinet meeting.
🤣 Reporters were stunned that the press secretary would deny the president's own words so soon after the president said them.

why is it taking so long??
ReplyDeleteMueller can’t indict Trump until he is out of office. But he can seal the indictment until Trump is removed from office one way or another, then it is unsealed and Trump is indicted.
ReplyDeleteMy Mother doesn’t think Trump will be impeached. She thinks he’ll be assassinated first. BTW she is a lifelong Republican and disgusted by all of this. Personally, I’m not surprised. I’ve seen this coming for a long time.
If Trump is impeached successfully, I think the investigation will then continue with Pence a focus with perhaps his own sealed indictment. So our fear should be what unelected piece of shit VP is Pence going to nominate and Ryan and McConnell rubber stamp? Our next fear should be what are we going to do until 2020 with this Republican majority in both houses with no change in sight. (Because the DNC isn’t doing squat and you can’t just assume people will vote against all this corruption. No guarantees Democrats will gain any seats let along keep the ones they have.)
Perhaps your mother should be investigated by the Secret Service. You have made threats against the office of the President and it sounds like your mother may have also.
DeletePrissy Pence is compromised in the Russia rubles scandal, also.

ReplyDelete"As we approach the one-year anniversary of Donald Trump’s election to the presidency, pundits and historians will judge his job performance so far. That’s what they do. But some of the president’s grades are obvious, especially for those who care about keeping the environment and our children healthy, keeping our people safe from weather disasters, living in a time when the nation is at peace, and salvaging America’s reputation overseas.
On the bright side, Trump deserves an excellent grade for his entertainment value. He has been a godsend for impressionists, comedians and wig makers.
He has been a blessing for the legal profession, too. He has inspired so much litigation that it may be boosting our GDP. In addition to the battery of lawyers on both sides of the Russia investigation, legions of attorneys are benefitting from the lawsuits filed to challenge the Trump Administration’s actions. As of August, Trump had been sued in federal courts 134 times over topics ranging from sanctuary cities to transgender soldiers.
It is when we get to his policies, behaviors, ethics and judgments that Trump’s grades plunge into “F” territory. For example, his stated reason for dismissing climate change (he says it’s a Chinese plot) is obviously absurd, but that’s his story and he’s sticking to it, even while unimaginable and unprecedented hurricanes, floods and fires are taking lives and property. The impacts of climate change are not only overwhelming entire regions of the United States, they are quickly overwhelming the federal government’s ability to respond to and help communities recover from these horrific events."
