According to Reuters Trump said this while being asked about dealing with Kim Jong Un:
With North Korea persisting as the major global challenge facing Trump this year, the president cast doubt on whether talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un would be useful. In the past he has not ruled out direct talks with Kim.
“I’d sit down, but I‘m not sure that sitting down will solve the problem,” he said, noting that past negotiations with the North Koreans by his predecessors had failed to rein in North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.
He blamed his three immediate predecessors, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, for failing to resolve the crisis and, a day after his doctor gave him a perfect score on a cognitive test, suggested he had the mental acuity to solve it.
“I guess they all realized they’re going to have to leave it to a president that scored the highest on tests,” he joked.
First off, he wasn't joking. The reporter from Reuters is just giving him the benefit of the doubt here.
And secondly Trump is ALWAYS bragging about his intellect, and I imagine truly believes he is more capable than Bill Clinton, a Rhodes Scholar, or Barack Obama, who became the first African American editor of the Harvard Law Review, and may have the highest IQ of any president in modern history.
Keep in mind that Trump's cognitive test consisted of remembering a sequence of numbers, simple subtraction, drawing a clock, and identifying animals by name.
It is a ten minute test that his doctor claimed took him thirty minutes to complete, and THIS suggests that he has good cognitive abilities?
Just the fact that he made the statement above, demonstrates the falsity of that claim.
It should also be mentioned that later in the Reuters article when asked Trump did not rule out a military solution to the North Korean problem.
Such sharp cognitive skills this one.
What an egotistical ass!
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, it only took him 30 minutes because he kept trying to color in the pictures of the animals...
DeleteYou cannot be a stable genius, if you are unable to identify a picture of a camel.
ReplyDeleteYou're just being a dirty libtard.
DeleteHe also proved he can draw a clock.
And a cube.

11:43 AM - HAHA And that why rwnjs are all for the dumbing down of America.
DeleteI still think of that woman outside the $arah book signing, "she's just like me!" It's not an attribute, lady, and she couldn't name one thing that the dingbat stood for.
Seems like it is taking him a very long time to figure out that America DID NOT ELECT him and he is spending our money and OCCUPYING our building ILLEGALLY and he must resign NOW!!! What part does he not get? He blew it... time is UP!! resign, get out, leave, you are fired, bye, be gone, bon voyage, you name it! Just beat it. Thank you, The American People and World Population.
ReplyDeleteAnd he knows it.
DeleteI think it best for us to IGNORE the “stable genius” and his flakey doctor. They DO have something in common:l both men are enchanted by the sound of their motor mouths.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what kind of spell Trump casts on these people who willingly lie for him but it must be a doozy. Why the White House doctor would jeopardize his reputation for the Oval Office idiot is a mystery. For that matter, why would anyone put their credibility on the line for him?
DeleteWhat is next? Hmmmm Let me guess, trump is holding America hostage until he gets a cut from the movies about to be made over the crime of this century. The rump sh*thole is dripping and don johns outhouse is full.
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump Isn’t the First Leader With a Personality Cult
ReplyDelete...Trump World’s acclaim for its hero suggests a personality cult in which a regime creates an over-the-top image of its leader that is plainly at odds with reality. While this leader cult has existed since the first organized state in Mesopotamia, its modern historical template is Joseph Stalin.
The cult of Stalin (hailed as the “universal genius” rather than Trump’s mere “stable genius”) went to extravagant lengths, but we hear semantic similarities—despite the stylistic differences—between the flatteries by the president’s staff and outpourings like this:

There’s No More Hedging About Whether Trump Is a Racist
For too long, the press has avoided stating what has been obvious for years.
...We are now witnessing another moment worth celebrating after the president, meeting with congressional leaders, decried immigrants from Haiti and Africa as coming from “shithole countries.” The news broke early evening Thursday, and I thought this would be reported as more of the same, but I awoke to a wonderful and constructive occurrence: there’s now a consensus. The president of the United States is a racist.
https://washingtonmonthly.com/2018/01/16/theres-no-more-hedging-about-whether-trump-is-a-racist/
They Only Want White Immigrants
...Of course, the problem driving this call for reduced immigration is that most immigrants these days are not white. If, as President Trump has suggested, we could convince more people from white countries like Norway to immigrate, then we wouldn’t see this resistance to reasonable immigration levels. Unfortunately for people like Trump, Perdue, and Cotton, there just aren’t that many Europeans who want to immigrate to the United States. And, that being the case, they’d rather cause a deficit in labor than permit the browning of America to continue apace.
The president is willing to say this until he decides he wants to deny having said it. But the outrage his comments sparked shows just how unpopular these sentiments are to most Americans. That’s why the policy proposals are always disguised. They’re about preventing terrorism. They’re about reducing crime. They’re about combatting drug addiction. They’re about protecting the taxpayer. They’re about preferring high-skilled labor or “the best people” over a bunch of losers who just looking for a handout.
What you’re never supposed to say is that it’s about making America white again.

The Story of an Erratic President and His Nativist Chief of Staff
ReplyDelete...The second take-away is something we’ve been watching develop. Obviously Stephen Miller isn’t the only remaining staff in the White House that harbors nativist views. He is joined in that by the former DHS Secretary and current Chief of Staff. Here is John Kelly’s developing case:

Hey, President Obama must come back tonight and hold the fort down until we get order in the house and a quick fast REAL election happens. ALL paper numbered ballots. History. Back to politics is right!! He did not pass the USA Presidency and White House over to a legal candidate. Back it up and correction please.

My husband "passes" the MOCA easily, yet he is VA-rated permanently and totally disabled by vascular dementia due to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam. The MOCA is a brief, simple screening tool, not an in-depth "test."
ReplyDeleteSince 2005, my husband has been severely impaired, unable to drive, manage his medications, prepare his own food, bathe or get dressed without assistance. He can't read with any real comprehension, can't address an envelope, make a sandwich, use a TV remote, or find a number in a phone book. He's completely incontinent. Yet he can still count backward by 7s faster than the average person.
He scores in the normal range on the MoCA test because he has what his neurologist calls cognitive reserves. He was a member of Mensa and InterTel, and he earned a master's degree in political science. He was a world class bridge player. Even adjusting for these advantages, his score is still well within the normal range.
I think Trump's doctor was trying to use a positive spin here, representing the screening tool as conclusive evidence that the President's cognitive health is fine.
We've all heard Trump speak, we've observed his behavior, we're aware of his actions and his attitudes, and we can arrive at our own conclusions. I don't pretend to know what is wrong with Trump, but what I see is not a man who's playing with a full deck. (That's a medical term.)
How interesting. I think the WH doctor's report to the press was truly bizarre, almost as full of superlatives when describing Trump as Trump would be himself. He didn't sound like a medical doctor at all. And, yes, we have all seen Trump dodder about, turn red with anger in an instant, speak in complete "word salad" nonsense. I wish one of the reporters had asked the good doctor why Trump has to grasp a glass or water bottle with both hands - always.

Trump is driving young Republicans away from the GOP
ReplyDeleteNow, as few as a quarter of voters under the age of 30 approve of Trump’s job performance. And among young Republicans, Trump’s approval rating has plummeted 12 percentage points since the spring, according to Harvard’s Institute of Politics poll released last month, down to 66 percent. That’s certainly robust, but well below Trump’s overall GOP approval rating that hovers around 80 percent.
“In a sentence, they are certainly not doing well,” said John Della Volpe, the polling director at the Institute of Politics. “That would be an understatement.”
It’s not that young Republicans are suddenly turning into progressives. To the contrary, those who choose to stay involved on college campuses often rally around Trump, and there is widespread conservative distaste for the protest-happy “resistance” movement.
But interviews with more than a dozen young Republican activists around the country reveal that one year into the Trump era, the party’s longstanding challenges with the next generation of voters are, in many cases, only getting worse.

DeleteIt's amazing the doctor isn't being brought up on charges. I want to know how Trump and his 'group' convinced the doctor to speak the untruths that he did.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone writing the doctor and expressing their thoughts and concerns? Might be a good idea to do so. Let him know he's not getting away w/the crap he put out to the nation and world for such an inept and mentally off leader of our country.
Hell awaits him!
I'd like to see, side by side, this doctor's reports on President Obama and Donald Trump. I'm sure he didn't flow with superlatives when describing President Obama's health the way he did with Trump. There was something so fake about his presentation.

ReplyDeleteI bet he was "practicing" for the test for at least a month. He probably also had a cheat sheet with him.

JEFF SESSIONS’S WAR ON POT GOES TO COURT, ATTORNEY GENERAL WILL FIGHT 12-YEAR-OLD WITH EPILEPSY
ReplyDeleteA 12-year-old suing the federal government may have a whiff of adorableness. But for Alexis Bortell, who filed a lawsuit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions last fall, it's a choice she had to make to save her life. Alexis has epilepsy, and Sessions has made it his mission to make it impossible for her to access the only drug that has kept her seizures at bay: cannabis.
Alexis doesn’t remember her first seizure. But her father, Dean Bortell, does.
“We were literally folding clothes, and Alexis was sleeping on the couch,” Bortell told Newsweek. “All of a sudden, I heard her make this shriek—I mean, it was a scream of terror,” he said. “I look over, and Alexis is stiff as a board, on her back, spasming.”
At first, Bortell suspected his daughter had a brain-eating amoeba on account of headlines about them that summer and took her to the hospital. Within hours, it became clear something else was wrong. Alexis was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2013.
Three years ago, Alexis began taking medical marijuana, and her seizures disappeared. But that treatment option is threatened by an aggressive federal crackdown on medicinal cannabis led by Sessions, who is also the acting director of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Vote non gop! Only a few more months so they can make right all crap legislation.
ReplyDeleteThe man (and I am being VERY generous with that term ) is a case study in Dunning-Kruger effect. The next President (if, indeed, we are allowed to elect one ) should immediately relieve that physician of his duties. Although, in his defense, he obviously made his statements in duress. I wonder what threats were made...
