In a court filing on Tuesday, the White House announced that it had not uncovered any preliminary findings of voter fraud in the 2016 election and that it would be destroying confidential voter data initially collected for President Trump’s controversial voter fraud commission, which was disbanded on January 3.
The revelation stands in stark contrast to previous comments made by both Trump and former commission vice chair and Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who claimed in an interview with right-wing outlet Breitbart one week ago that all investigation work would be “handed off” to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), implying that Democrats were becoming “uncomfortable” with how much Republicans had discovered thus far.
Trump also claimed previously that the commission — created in May 2017 and charged with identifying “vulnerabilities in voting systems” that could lead to fraud — had uncovered “substantial” findings which would be handed over to DHS.
Tuesday’s court filing contradicted those claims.
“The Commission did not create any preliminary findings,” White House Director of Information Technology Charles C. Herndon said. “In any event, no Commission records or data will be transferred to the DHS or another agency, except to NARA [the National Archives and Records Administration] if required, in accordance with federal law.”
He added that “no Commission member was provided access to the state voter data prior to the Commission’s termination and none has access now.”
"Had not uncovered any preliminary findings of voter fraud in the 2016 election."
No kidding.
Gee, yet another bullshit waste of taxpayer money based on the lies that Donald Trump told during his campaign.
And now they want to destroy all evidence of this embarrassing failure.
Next up, burning all the prototypes for the border wall that will never be built.
I have a problem with them destroying evidence, who is to say in a couple hours trump will come out yakking about voter fraud and there the evidence is gone. Then they will throw together another panel costing us more money.
ReplyDeleteHe's a fraud, liar, cheat, has committed treason and should be hung from the rafters or put in jail for the rest of his life. He does not represent the majority of Americans and never will. And, I do not think he has a chance of being reelected. He's a friggin' disaster!!
ReplyDeleteLie number 947, or have we lost count by now?
ReplyDelete“GET HIM OUTA THERE!!!!”
What do you mean lie 947? He already past 2000 a couple of days ago.
DeleteWHAT DA FU@K HAVE THEY BEEN DOING THE WHOLE TIME?
ReplyDelete“no Commission member was provided access to the state voter data prior to the Commission’s termination and none has access now.”
Well that answers that. Nobody can take them to court now demanding to see what they have been doing. They got rid of all the evidence.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you whose voter's information the Trump Commission had in their possession and had to destroy:
ReplyDelete1. Hillary Rodham Clinton
2. Barack Hussein Obama
3. Oprah Winfrey
4. Mitt Romney

Trump said 'pretty Korean' analyst should negotiate with North Korea based on her ethnicity: NBC
• President Donald Trump suggested in the Oval Office that a "pretty Korean" analyst's ethnicity should qualify her for negotiating with North Korea on behalf of the United States , NBC News reported Friday.
• The woman, an intelligence analyst who had visited the White House to brief Trump on an impending hostage situation in Pakistan, was asked where "your people" were from by the president after multiple attempts to learn her ethnicity, sources told NBC.
• The story comes amid accounts that the president referred to some developing nations as "s---hole countries" in an immigration meeting.
President Donald Trump suggested in the Oval Office that a "pretty Korean" analyst's ethnicity should qualify her for negotiating with North Korea on behalf of the United States, NBC News reported Friday.
The woman, an intelligence analyst who had visited the White House to brief Trump on an impending hostage situation in Pakistan, was asked where "your people" were from by the president after multiple attempts to learn her ethnicity, sources told NBC.

ReplyDeleteSen. Lindsey Graham: 'I said my piece' to Trump following his immigration comments
Sen. Lindsey Graham did not deny Friday that President Donald Trump called certain nations "s---hole" countries, adding that he "said [his] piece" in response to the president's "comments" at a meeting with lawmakers.
The South Carolina Republican did not rebut an account from Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., of a Thursday meeting on bipartisan immigration legislation that both attended. On Friday, Durbin said that Trump "repeatedly" said "hate-filled things" at the meeting and called African nations "s---hole" countries.
Durbin added that Graham spoke up in response to Trump's comments and said it took courage to do so....

Bunch of wimps!
People who insist Trump is evil yet support gossip sites and the blogosphere are massive hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteOf course this means extreme evidence was found pertaining to reupblican voter fraud, so they are wiping the data willy nilly. And their insistance that voter info is being whiped tells me that's being kept.
ReplyDeleteSecret Money: How Trump Made Millions Selling Condos To Unknown Buyers
ReplyDeleteA BuzzFeed News review of every sale of a Trump-branded condominium in the United States provides the first comprehensive look at how many went to unidentified buyers who paid cash, an indication of possible money laundering.
https://www.buzzfeed.com/thomasfrank/secret-money-how-trump-made-millions-selling-condos-to
This morning BuzzFeed published a lengthy expose into Trump’s money laundering operations, which included this passage near the end: “The Haitian government claimed in the 1980s that ousted dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier laundered stolen treasury funds when he bought Trump Tower apartment 54-K for $446,875 in August 1983. Duvalier used a Panama shell company called Lasa Trade and Finance to buy the apartment in cash. Trump signed the deed of sale.” (link). It’s likely that BuzzFeed would have called Trump’s White House before publishing this story to get him to comment on it.
Of course there is nothing new about this accusation; Haiti asserted it decades ago. But it’s difficult to look past the timing here. Trump finds out that a major U.S. news outlet is about to publish a story about Haiti having accused him of money laundering, and immediately thereafter, he calls Haiti a “shithole.”

Haitian government claims ousted dictator ‘Baby Doc’ Duvalier laundered stolen money through Trump Tower
ReplyDelete...According to the Buzzfeed News report, the Haitian government complained in the 1980s that former dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier laundered money stolen from the Caribbean nation’s treasury by purchasing an apartment in Trump Tower.
Duvalier, nicknamed “Baby Doc,” was overthrown in 1986, but three years earlier used a Panamanian shell company called Lasa Trade and Finance to buy apartment 54-K in Trump’s Manhattan tower for $446,875 cash.
Trump, the future U.S. president, signed the deed of sale.

GOP leaders’ silence on Trump’s racism grows more awkward as rank and file speak out
ReplyDelete...Through all of this, Republican leadership, and most Republicans in Congress, have proudly stood by Trump. Nothing he has said has caused Republican leadership any hesitation or misgivings about Trump’s role as leader of the United States.
And the silence about the most recent insult to more than 50 countries shows that no matter what racist filth Trump spews from his perch in the Oval Office, Republican leadership will line up behind him.

White nationalists praise Trump for ‘sh*thole’ comment
...“You have white supremacists like Andrew Anglin calling Trump’s words ‘encouraging and refreshing,’” Segal said, referring to the editor of Daily Stormer, a fringe, anti-Semitic conspiracy website that serves as a homepage for young, disaffected white men. Segal said that when Trump makes racially charged remarks, it gives a signal to isolated and hateful people that their views are normal and are “gaining a foothold in this country,” even if that might not be the case.

Trump called intel analyst a ‘pretty Korean lady’ — and asked why she wasn’t negotiating with Kim Jong Un: report
ReplyDelete...In fact, sources tell NBC News that Trump made a career U.S. intelligence officer uncomfortable last year when he grilled her on her Korean heritage and demanded to know why she wasn’t being used to negotiate with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
According to NBC News, Trump first asked the officer where she was from after she had finished delivering an intelligence briefing. She replied that she originally hailed from New York City, but Trump pushed her by asking where “your people” originally came from.
At that point, she admitted that both of her parents were from Korea — at which point Trump turned to an adviser and asked them why the “pretty Korean lady” wasn’t being used as an asset to negotiate with North Korea over its nuclear arsenal.

Few Republicans Acknowledged Trump’s ‘Shithole’ Slur
ReplyDelete...Most Republicans, on the other hand, were notably silent on the president’s shockingly vulgar remark, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and GOP chair Ronna McDaniel.
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) called Trump’s comments “very unfortunate” and Sen. Marco Rubio posted a long Twitter thread about the many ways Haitians have made an impact in the U.S.
But by Friday morning, long after Trump reportedly asked, “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here,” most GOP lawmakers had still not said anything publicly about the president’s racially charged remark. He was said to have made the comment when lawmakers pressed to restore protections for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and multiple African nations.
In a series of early morning tweets, Trump denied using such language, while continuing to denigrate some nations. But Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) ― who was in the room at the time ― swiftly contradicted him, saying that the president had in fact “said these hate-filled things and he said them repeatedly.”

DeleteFeinstein on Trump Statements
ReplyDeleteJan 12 2018
Washington—Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement on President Trump’s comments:
“President Trump’s vile comments about Africa and Haiti are despicable and beneath the dignity of the presidency. They unquestionably diminish our country’s standing in the world.
“America’s greatness is enshrined in the words written on the Statue of Liberty: ‘Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’ It’s been said that America is an idea. That idea is rooted in the belief that people from all over the world could come here, whether they were fleeing persecution, poverty, or war, or simply looking for a better life for themselves and their families.
“The president’s expressed desire to see more immigrants from countries like Norway must be called out for what it is: an effort to set this country back generations by promoting a homogenous, white society.
“The president’s words make the jobs of Americans stationed all over the world harder—soldiers, diplomats and businesses. Hate crimes against Muslims, Jews, LGBT individuals and other minorities have increased over the past two years. White nationalism, which led to the death of a peaceful protestor in August, is on the rise.
“We all need to stop pretending that there are no consequences when the most powerful person in the world espouses racist views and gives a wink and a nod to the darkest elements in our society.
“If the president can’t control himself and lead this country with the authority, dignity and leadership it requires, then he shouldn’t be the president. There’s no room for racism in the Oval Office.”

They're destroying their records because the data they got from the states proved useless for Kobach's purpose- which was to go after individual voters BY NAME to take their voting rights away. The states refused to break their own disclosure rules for Kobach, so he and his criminal outfit were fucked from the beginning.
