Courtesy of CNN:
FBI agents have tried to meet a pair of self-styled "sex coaches" detained in a Bangkok jail who claim to have evidence of Russian meddling in the 2016 US election, a senior Thai official told CNN.
Belarussian citizens Anastasia Vashukevich and Alexander Kirillov sent a handwritten letter last month to the US Embassy in Bangkok asking for help in getting them released in exchange for information on alleged meddling in the US presidential election.
The FBI agents contacted Thailand's Immigration bureau last week to try to organize the meeting, the highly placed source in the department said.
The request was refused by Thai officials because only legal representatives and family members of the detainees are permitted access to the detainees, added the source, who is not authorized to speak to media.
As I reported before this Anastasia Vashukevich claims to have taped evidence that Russian oligarch Oleg V. Deripaska participated in the meddling. Deripaska also has close ties to Paul Manafort.
A number of people have tried to dismiss these women out of hand as simply saying anything to get out of that Thai prison, but it appears that the FBI might be taking their claims seriously.
We shall see.

ReplyDeleteThe porn star suing President Donald Trump is using a crowdfunding effort to cover her legal fees and other related expenses.
ReplyDeleteStephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, has filed a complaint against the President over a non-disclosure agreement she claims is void regarding an alleged affair she had with Trump in 2006.
Clifford's plea on crowdjustice.com was confirmed by her attorney on Wednesday.
"I need funds to pay for: attorneys' fees; out-of-pocket costs associated with the lawsuit, arbitration, and my right to speak openly; security expenses; and damages that may be awarded against me if I speak out and ultimately lose to Mr. Trump and Mr. Cohen," the page reads.
With 29 days remaining, Clifford's effort had raised more than $122,000 as of Thursday morning, according to the fundraising page.

DeleteCan Team Trump Stop Stormy Daniels’ ‘60 Minutes’ Interview?
DeleteTrump and his lawyers have not yet filed a lawsuit against CBS over its Stormy Daniels interview. Leading lawyers say it would be pointless, and counterproductive, to do so.

Delete"New documents show a second lawyer with ties to President Donald Trump was involved in legal efforts to keep adult film star Stormy Daniels from talking about her alleged affair with Trump.
Attorney Jill A. Martin signed the documents, which were filed Feb. 22 as part of confidential arbitration proceedings. She's referenced in the filing as counsel for "EC LLC," though the address she lists is that of Trump's Los Angeles golf club.
EC appears to be a reference to a company formed by Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, to facilitate a $130,000 payment to silence Daniels in the closing days of the 2016 presidential campaign. Cohen has acknowledged making the payment, but said he was not reimbursed and denied the campaign and the Trump Organization were involved in the transaction.
Daniels' attorney, Michael Avenatti, confirmed the authenticity of the new documents to The Associated Press. The documents were first reported by CNN and the Wall Street Journal.
Avenatti said the documents show that "contrary to Mr. Cohen's representations, there is little to no difference between EC LLC and The Trump Organization/Donald Trump.""

Dylann Roof's sister arrested for carrying weapons to school on day of national walkout
Delete...Anger over what was called the National Student Walkout sparked a post from a Snapchat account associated with Morgan Roof that was shared around social media Wednesday.
The post read: "Your (sic) walking out for the allowed time of 17min, They are letting you do this, nothing is going to change what (the expletive) you think it’s gonna do? I hope it’s a trap and y’all get shot we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walkin out anyway."
Teachers searched Roof following the Snapchat post and found the weapons and marijuana, Richland County Sheriff spokesman Curtis Wilson said.

BREAKING: Trump, through Sessions, is trying to exact punishment against a 21-year FBI veteran he knows will be a witness against him in a criminal case by trying to have him fired days before his pension vests—a decision that may cost McCabe untold hundreds of thousands or more.

There were no legal consequences when Gina Haspel oversaw the torture of two men at a secret CIA prison in Thailand 16 years ago. There were no legal consequences 13 years ago when Haspel aided in the destruction of 92 videotapes showing Abu Zubaydah and Abdul Rahim Nashiri’s torture. But now that Haspel is two Senate votes away from running the CIA, a coalition of civil liberties groups is gearing up to ensure that she will at least face political consequences.

North Korea:OT?
ReplyDelete"The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in Monterey, California published on Saturday photographs taken by satellites showing a monument being built at the site of the Hwasong-15 ICBM launch in November of last year. The existence of the monuments was also being reported by Sputnik News and The Diplomat, a journal of Asia diplomacy.
At the same time these monuments are being built, Donald Trump is bragging about his great diplomatic achievement of becoming (maybe) the first sitting U.S. president to meet a North Korean supreme leader. Trump and his supporters have attributed his great achievement to what is called Trump’s “maximum pressure” campaign on North Korea. They are crowing about how Trump’s tough talk has worked to bring the North Korean leader to his knees in submission."

8. VIPs looking for extreme debauchery were steered to sex cubicles in the basement, or "the rubber room" in the balcony.
Once you found yourself inside the hallowed grounds of Studio 54, the next place you wanted to go was the fabled basement; a cavernous, dingy, decidedly unglamorous space decorated with damaged banquets, pillars of rolled carpet and set pieces from past parties. It was down here that the privileged few were invited to indulge in their wildest desires. "Celebrities headed for the basement. Getting high low-down," Grace Jones wrote in her 2016 memoir. "Not even those who got inside the club could all make it into the basement. You'd stumble into half-hidden rooms filled with a few people who seemed to be sweating because of something they had just done, or were about to do." Security men brandishing walkie-talkies discreetly patrolled the area, removing any uninvited gawkers. The secluded corners furnished with mattresses quickly became a popular feature.
Less exclusive was the balcony area, upholstered in rubber because it was deemed easy to clean. Exactly what needed to be cleaned is best left to the imagination. "Up high in the seats above the stalls, you could disappear into the shadows and get up to whatever," "Up above the balcony, there was the rubber room, with thick rubber walls that could be easily wiped down after all the powdery activity that went on. There was even something above the rubber room, beyond secretive, up where the gods of the club could engage in their chosen vice high up above the relentless dancers. It was a place of secrets and secretions, the in-crowd and inhalations, sucking and snorting.""<Rolling Stone Mag.

ReplyDelete"WASHINGTON (AP) — The Russian government says it’s preparing to retaliate after new U.S. sanctions against Moscow for allegedly interfering in the 2016 American presidential election.
Russia’s deputy foreign minister, Sergei Ryabkov, says the Kremlin is responding calmly to the new sanctions and — in his words — “taking this in our stride.” But he says Russia has “begun preparing retaliatory measures.”
Ryabkov suggests the Trump administration timed the sanctions to come ahead of this weekend’s presidential election in Russia.
The official is quoted by the Russian state news agency Tass as saying that the U.S. action is “tied to U.S. internal disorder, tied of course to our electoral calendar.”"TPM
