Hackers may have stopped the Christmas release of "The Interview" but human rights activists are going to make sure that North Koreans still get a chance to see it. Using balloons even.

 Whether or not North Korea is behind the Sony hack, Kim Jong Un better brace himself because The Interview is headed to his country. Human rights activists are planning to airlift DVDs of the Seth Rogen comedy into the country via hydrogen balloons. 

Fighters for a Free North Korea, run by Park Sang Hak, a former government propagandist who escaped to South Korea, has for years used balloons to get transistor radios, DVDs and other items into North Korea — not to entertain the deprived masses, but to introduce them to the outside world.

Of course at this point there is no telling when the DVD will be released, but I have a feeling that once it has been that this will be the most popular item on the North Koreans "gifts from the sky" wish list.

Today cable news, newspapers, and websites are all over this news about the Sony hack and the decision to pull The Interview from theaters. In fact it has even knocked the Senate torture report off of the front pages.

I personally do not think this is quite as important, but it IS very important and potentially problematic moving forward.

The idea that a bunch of hackers sitting on their couch eating Cheetos can frighten a wealthy movie studio into stopping the release of a major motion picture  should give all of us pause.

And whether you thought the movie should have been made or not, or that it went too far, is really beside the point. After all how many world leaders, and racial stereotypes, have we killed in American movies over the years.

In the James Bod film "Die Another Day" the bad guys were North Koreans, The same is true for the remake of "Red Dawn," Angelina Jolie's "Salt," and "Olympus Has Fallen."

In that last film by the way the filmmakers also shot the White House full of holes.

Hell in "Independence Day" the filmmakers blew up the White House altogether, as well as most of the rest of the world, and (Spoiler alert.) even killed the President's wife. (There even exists a "fakeumentary" about the killing of George W. Bush, made in 2006.)

If a movie goes too far, or is in bad taste, that should be reflected in poor sales and bad reviews. And it should not result in threats of terrorist attack or the hacking computers and releasing private information to the public.

Bowing to this kind of pressure is setting a very, very dangerous precedent.

For those who have wondered what all of the fuss is about, here is the scene where Kim Jong-Un is killed.

Sarah Palin has a movie, so of course Michele Bachmann needs a movie too.

Conservative organization Citizens United will hit Iowa airwaves next week with advertisements touting its film about Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), who’s already sitting toward the top of most polls in the first-caucus state.

Citizens United president David Bossie said the ad — a $75,000 buy — is not a political message or an independent expenditure in support of Bachmann because it promotes a movie, not a candidate. The ad won’t feature a political disclaimer — Bossie noted that Citizens United, which last year prompted the Supreme Court case that upended long-standing federal campaign finance laws in the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision, has a media exemption for such communications.

Though there was a national ad buy to promote the DVD-only “Fire from the Heartland: The Awakening of the Conservative Woman,” when it was released last fall, this is the first advertising during the general election and the first targeted at a state crucial to the presidential election. And though Citizens United has produced films on other conservative figures, including fellow presidential contender Newt Gingrich, the new ad buy is their first and so far only promotion featuring any of the 2012 hopefuls.

“With this ad, we are drafting off a leader, and we’re very lucky because we happen to have a wonderful product and have a front-runner starring in our film,” Bossie said. “We want to place these ads where people are paying attention.”

The 30-spot pictures Bachmann speaking about Americans losing their rights — life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As she speaks, images of President Barack Obama, burning money and angry crowds of people flash on screen.

“Government is treading on very dangerous ground,” Bachmann says. “The sense is coming over us that something is terribly wrong.”

Here let me help the Palin-bots over at the Sea O'Pee write their dismissal of this particular piece of propaganda:

"Yeah, but HER movie is not being shown in actual movie theaters!  And she is only doing this to steal the thunder from our beloved Sarah Palin whose eternal light shall shine on this blessed land like a giant sunbed browning our souls with freedom and Christian values."

Of course what might NOT be so easy to explain away is why Citizens United, an uber conservative, somewhat frightening group of neo-Nazi propagandists, are throwing their weight (And sacks of money) behind, chronic migraine sufferer, Michele Bachmann, and not Sister Sarah?

Why can Palin only find one, rather sweaty MILF loving, propaganda film maker to finance her opus while Bachmann seems to have the bottomless pockets of Citizens United standing firmly behind her?

In other words does this mean that the lunatic fringe of the Conservative party have now all washed their hands of Klondike Kardashian, leaving only the MOST deranged inmates still clamoring for a Palin Presidency?

Interesting question no?

By the way perhaps we could all take a moment to give a giant middle finger to the conservatives on the Supreme Court for allowing groups like Citizens United to spend unlimited amounts of money promoting their candidate, or criticizing their political opponents, while clogging the crap out of our airwaves.

New tool to convince suspected terrorists to confess will be out in April. "Sarah Palin sees Alaska for the very first time" to be made available on DVD.

TLC’s hit series “Sarah Palin's Alaska - Season 1” will be coming out on DVD on April 5.

The 2-disc set (all 387 minutes of it) will sell for a suggested retail price of $19.98. But if you want more, Discovery's online store is selling a 3-disc “special edition” version for $10 more that will be available a month earlier. That disc features additional documentaries about the 49th State — but they do not involve the Palin family.

Can you imagine?

How much would you have to hate somebody to give them this is a gift?  Hell I don't even dislike Sarah Palin enough to make her watch this mooseshit.

Wait! I thought of somebody. John McCain!

John McCain should be forced to sit through this entire series, "Clockwork Orange" style, while somebody whispers in his wrinkled old ear "Do you SEE what you inflicted upon America?"

Now THAT would be justice!
