So now we are all living in an episode of the Simpsons?

I have said before that Donald Trump is a cartoonist's dream.

And the Simpsons animators were not the only ones to predict a Trump candidacy.

He is incredible easy to parody and his oddly shaped head and bizarre spider web hair have to be a joy for illustrators to tackle. 

But now we know that not only does Trump inspire cartoonists, he also apparently takes his inspiration from THEM as well.

Unfortunately the mistakes HE will make reverberate far beyond our television screens or the page of a newspaper.

Black pastors scheduled to meet with Donald Trump on Monday make it clear they're NOT with stupid.

The majority of a group of prominent African American ministers scheduled to meet with Donald Trump Monday are making clear that they have made no commitments to endorse the real estate magnate. Their public declarations of non-endorsement come after a press release from the Trump campaign announced a coalition of 100 African American religious leaders will appear with the real estate mogul shortly after the meeting to endorse him. 

Bishop Clarence McClendon, a Los Angeles-based minister who was invited to the Monday meeting with clergy, posted to Facebook after the Trump campaign announced the coming endorsements. 

“I am not officially endorsing ANY candidate and when I do you will NOT need to hear it from pulpitting courtjesters who suffer from intellectual and spiritual myopia,” he wrote. 

Bishop Corletta Vaughn, the Senior Pastor of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of Faith in Detroit, posted a message on Facebook after she said her inbox was “blowing up with inquiries” after her name was included on a list of pastors meeting Trump. 

“Let me be clear,” she wrote. “I was invited to attend a gathering of clergy to listen to Mr. Trump on Monday November 30. I respectively (Sic.) declined as I do not support nor will endorse Donald Trump.” 

“I was asked 2 meet with Mr Trump too but I refused because until he learns how to respect people you can’t represent me thru my endorsement,” Bishop Paul Morton, a prominent pastor in Atlanta tweeted on Friday.

"Hey I have an idea to help with that whole racism thing, I'll invite a bunch of black pastors to meet with me. What? They're telling everybody they DON'T endorse me? Well what can you expect from a bunch of........?"

You know as much fun as it was to watch the Donald Trump candidacy run roughshod through the Republican party, watching it fall apart is fairly entertaining as well.

GOP in panic over Donald Trump's candidacy, however polls show that the honeymoon might be ending.

The Republican establishment is nearing full-blown panic about Donald Trump. The demise of Trump’s candidacy has been predicted by centrist Republicans and the media alike virtually since the day it began. But there is no empirical evidence at all to suggest it is happening. 

Last month, the liberal Think Progress collated more than 30 predictions of the business mogul’s imminent demise. One typical example was The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, who discerned “the beginning of the end of Trump” in mid-July, soon after the mogul criticized the Vietnam War record of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) 

Despite all that, Trump has led the Real Clear Politics (RCP) polling average in a virtually unbroken spell for four months. The only person to briefly wrest the lead away from him, Dr. Ben Carson, appears to be fading. And numerous polls show Trump drawing double the support of his closest establishment-friendly rival, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) 

Add to all this the fact that Trump’s lead over the rest of the GOP field has expanded since the terrorist attacks in Paris, and it becomes clear why anxiety among his many Republican critics is reaching new heights.

Interestingly enough on the same day that this article was written another one from Reuters stated that Trump's poll numbers are starting to dip for the first time since he announced his candidacy: 

U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll. 

Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22. 

The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more. 

Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.

A quick look at Real Clear Politics shows that Trump is definitely losing ground, but the frightening thing is that those breathing down his neck such as Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio are really not any better.

In fact is some ways they are even worse.

So if the Republican party wants to be in a panic, they should panic over the fact that ALL of the candidates most likely to win the nomination represent a sideshow of ill prepared, mentally unbalanced, egomaniacs who will no doubt continue leading the country down the path of destruction first laid out by our LAST Republican president.

Personally if I was not convinced that Hillary Clinton could beat any of these losers with both hands tied behind her back I might do a little panicking myself.

So is the Ben Carson sideshow finally coming to an end?

Last week’s terror attacks in Paris — combined with a number of missteps on international issues — imperil Carson’s status as a leading candidate, according to the insiders, who said the retired pediatric neurosurgeon has failed to articulate coherent foreign policy or shown command of the issues. A resounding 71 percent of Republicans said Carson was the most vulnerable among the 14 GOP hopefuls on foreign policy — far more than any other candidate. 

“He clearly has no idea what he’s talking about,” said one South Carolina Republican. 

“Ben Carson's complete ineptitude makes you long for the days of ‘Uz-beki-beki-stan-stan,’” added an Iowa Republican, referring to a disastrous Herman Cain interview four years ago. 

Foreign affairs were never Carson’s strength but the issue took on new resonance after the terror attacks in Paris last week. Since then, Carson has faltered in interviews, and a New York Times story earlier this week quoted an 83-year-old Carson adviser who described the candidate as needing intense coaching “to make him smart.” 

“Carson is so clueless,” said an Iowa GOP insider. “He thinks the Kurds are a special kind of Wisconsin cheese.” 

Well it looks like finally the Republicans are coming to their senses. Well somewhat, after all they're still supporting Trump, Cruz, and Rubio.

But this guy......hell I don't even know where to begin to explain the popularity of this guy.

I just NEVER got it. And I mean NEVER.

So it looks as if the lasting impression left from Carson's ill conceived, and ill fated candidacy is that never again can somebody say "Well he's no brain surgeon" to indicate the level of a person's intellect.

Establishment Republicans starting to panic at thought of Trump or Carson winning nomination. Did somebody say Romney?

Less than three months before the kickoff Iowa caucuses, there is growing anxiety bordering on panic among Republican elites about the dominance and durability of Donald Trump and Ben Carson and widespread bewilderment over how to defeat them. 

Party leaders and donors fear that nominating either man would have negative ramifications for the GOP ticket up and down the ballot, virtually ensuring a Hillary Rodham Clinton presidency and increasing the odds that the Senate falls into Democratic hands. 

The party establishment is paralyzed. Big money is still on the sidelines. No consensus alternative to the outsiders has emerged from the pack of governors and senators running, and there is disagreement about how to prosecute the case against them. Recent focus groups of Trump supporters in Iowa and New Hampshire commissioned by rival campaigns revealed no silver bullet.

Can't really blame the Republicans for wanting to curl up in the fetal position and pray that Ben Carson finally loses his battle with his narcolepsy and passes out in the middle of a press conference or Donald Trump's hair goes rogue and strangles him in his sleep. But barring some fortuitous outcome like that what other options do they really have?

I mean you don't think they're desperate enough to....

They wouldn't actually consider......

According to other Republicans, some in the party establishment are so desperate to change the dynamic that they are talking anew about drafting Romney — despite his insistence that he will not run again. Friends have mapped out a strategy for a late entry to pick up delegates and vie for the nomination in a convention fight, according to the Republicans who were briefed on the talks, though Romney has shown no indication of reviving his interest.

Really? the "binders full of women" guy running against the first female presidential nominee?

Hell why not? Bring him on.

After all it really does not matter at this point just WHO Hillary defeats, and by choosing Romney the Republicans would essentially be signalling that they realize that as well.

Jim Webb announces decision to run for President. Or as he is better known, "Jim Who?"

Former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb announced Thursday that "after many months of thought, deliberation and discussion" he has decided to run for president of the United States. 

In an over 2,000-word blog post, Webb writes that he decided to run because the United States needs "proven, experienced leadership that can be trusted to move us forward from a new President's first days in office." 

Highlighting his experience as a senator, decorated soldier and and secretary of the navy under Ronald Reagan, Webb cast himself as someone willing to fight on issues he cares about, including criminal justice reform, education and economic fairness. 

Webb becomes the fifth Democrat to join the primary contest. 

Personally I don't think that many Democrats are really going to pay much attention to a Jim Webb candidacy.  Not with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders sucking up all of the oxygen in the room at least.

Besides not only did Webb serve as Secretary of the Navy under Reagan, but he also recently came out in support of the Confederate Battle flag, which puts him at odds with virtually every other Democrat in the country.

I think that Jim Webb could be a valuable asset in a cabinet position, but I doubt he will receive serious consideration for the job of Commander-in-Chief.

However let me just add, Webb is still head and shoulders above any presidential choice on the Republican side of the aisle.

As literally EVERYONE mocks Donald Trump's "candidacy" for being ridiculous,. His seemingly sole supporter is the also ridiculous Sarah Palin.

Of course I wrote yesterday about Palin's Facebook post welcoming Trump to the 2016 race, but MSNBC noticed that it seemed she was Trump's only real supporter.

When real estate mogul Donald Trump announced his bid for the 2016 presidential race on Tuesday, he faced fast-flying ridicule from the likes of comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Stewart even thanked Trump for providing comedy gold for his final six weeks as host of “The Daily Show.” 

However, Trump does have one staunch, high-profile supporter — everyone’s favorite Alaskan, Sarah Palin.

Okay let me stop everybody right here to say that if Sarah Palin is your favorite Alaskan, you do not understand Sarah Palin, and you certainly do not understand Alaska. 

The former Alaska governor offered Trump words of encouragement in a Facebook post published on Wednesday. She congratulated the businessman for making “the malcontents go ballistic in the press” and backed Trump’s assertion that he will be “the greatest jobs president that God ever created.”

“His own success is testament to the job-creating achievements made possible when one applies the courageous and tenacious pro-private sector precepts we need to fire up the economy,” she said.

Yep, she's pretty much the only idiot besides Trump himself who would say all of that. The article then goes on to  mention that while Palin was stroking Trump's enormous ego she was also took shots at Hillary Clinton and the media.

They then mentioned Trump's invitation to once again join him for a slice of pizza on paper plates.

This got me thinking that Trump may be the ONLY political candidate who is immune to the Palin curse. Because let's face it, NOBODY could possibly damage Donald Trump's reputation more than Donald Trump.

Which of course includes the fact that it is now proven that he paid actors 50 dollars a piece to stand in the audience during his announcement and act like they gave a shit. 

Personally I hope Palin takes him up on that offer, after all what else does she have to do?

Perhaps a little more interesting considering the fact that currently there is a deadly fire, which has already destroyed 12 square miles of forest and displaced 275 Alaskans, burning less than thirty miles from her house in Wasilla.

But hey who can be bothered with all of that when there are Facebook posts to write, candidate asses to kiss, and cars to pose next to?

Jeb Bush names his brother George W. as one of his top advisers. Oh, I thought he wanted to win the presidency in 2016. Guess not.

After spending months distancing himself from his family’s political legacy, Jeb Bush surprised a group of Manhattan financiers this week by naming his brother, former president George W. Bush, as his most influential counselor on U.S.-Israel policy. 

“If you want to know who I listen to for advice, it’s him,” Bush said Tuesday, speaking to a crowd of high-powered investors at the Metropolitan Club, according to four people present. 

Embracing George W. Bush as a foreign-policy confidant is a risky and unexpected move for the former Florida governor as he readies for a likely presidential bid. While the former president’s approval ratings have improved since he left office in 2009, his foreign-policy legacy — particularly the long war in Iraq — remains deeply unpopular. He has also become anathema to some conservative activists for presiding over an increase in the federal debt, among other policies.

Having George W. Bush associated with your candidacy as an adviser is akin to having Sarah Palin endorse you for office in Alaska. That is a non-starter. 

George W. Bush is the man that the entire country recognizes as having caused almost irreparable harm to the country. Having his last name is bad enough, but actually eliciting advise from him?

Seriously?

Jebbie just handed his opponents all of the ammunition that they will need to undermine his candidacy.

Hillary must be smiling from ear to ear today.
