Damn Sarah Palin is simply not going to let this Bill Nye thing go!

Palin's Facebook post links to a Salon article written on February 14th, 2014 about a then upcoming debate between Nye and the climate science denying Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn on Meet the Press.

The point of the article was that MTP was being lazy in not getting an ACTUAL climate scientist to come on debate Blackburn who is, insanely enough, the Vice Chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

However if Palin had bothered to read the article more carefully she might have noticed this portion:  

But Bill Nye is not actually a climate scientist. He is a former mechanical engineer turned television entertainer, and now professional edu-tainer. He’s clearly well-informed on the subject of climate science, and he has done quite a lot to popularize and explain the research. Against very well-funded opponents, he has long been a prominent voice for scientific literacy. I have no doubt that Bill Nye could out-debate Marsha Blackburn — or indeed pretty much any Republican elected official — on the subject of humanity’s responsibility for climate change and its probably catastrophic effects. What’s insulting (and insane) is that there is to be a “debate” at all, on one of America’s supposed premier news talk shows. 

What’s scary is that the side of this debate that is wrong, and that is wrong in a way that will very probably lead to worldwide disaster in a few generations, is taken seriously because it is the side taken by one of America’s two dominant political parties.

In other words Salon in no way is suggesting that Nye is ill equipped to debate Blackburn on this topic, but rather lamenting the fact that news programs such as Meet the Press are still acting as if there is a debate left to have on the subject.

However those are simply facts and in the world occupied by the likes of Marsha Blackburn and Sarah Palin, facts are not allowed.

Despite being completely exonerated by a Texas grand jury, Republicans have no intention of ending their witch hunt against Planned Parenthood.

"I'm in the middle of an investigation, stop trying to distract me with facts."

Republicans are determined to push on with their investigation of Planned Parenthood, even after a Texas grand jury cleared the organization of wrongdoing on Monday and instead indicted two anti-abortion activists who targeted the family planning provider in a series of undercover videos. 

The grand jury’s decision hasn’t affected Republicans' plans to continue investigating Planned Parenthood, however. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), who is chairing a select investigative committee that purports to be investigating “big abortion providers" -- but for all intents and purposes is only scrutinizing Planned Parenthood -- said in a statement Tuesday that “the mission of our investigation has not changed.” 

“We will continue to gather information and get the facts about medical practices of abortion service providers and the business practices of the procurement organizations who sell baby body parts,” Blackburn said. “These are issues of importance to the American people. We will study the laws on the books and follow the facts to defend life." 

Blackburn's committee was created even as other Republicans, like Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), said they didn’t find any evidence of wrongdoing on the provider’s part. Multiple state investigations have come to similar conclusions. 

Those are your tax dollars at work folks.

 Just to provide a little context, the Republicans are also still investigating Benghazi.

Republicans, if there is a dead horse around, you can bet they all busy beating it. 

John Boehner announces the House members who will be embarrassing themselves, and their constituents, while investigating Planned Parenthood in response to those doctored videos.

Speaker John A. Boehner announced Friday that Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., will chair the investigative panel created following a string of hidden camera videos showing Planned Parenthood employees talking about the sale of fetal tissue. 

“Recent videos exposing the abortion-for-baby parts business have shocked the nation, and demanded action,” Boehner said Friday in a statement. “At my request, three House committees have been investigating the abortion business, but we still don’t have the full truth.” 

Boehner said Blackburn will have “the resources and the subpoena power to get to the bottom of these horrific practices, and build on our work to protect the sanctity of all human life.”

Oh man that is like a who's who of pro-choice opponents. This could be a bigger joke than the Benghazi hearings.

Apparently when Bill Nye gives a lecture, these are the people he mocks.

MSNBC's Thomas Roberts tees off on disingenuous Republican lawmaker: "Do you hate Obamacare more than you love your country?"

"Let me ask you, when it comes to Obamacare, do you hate Obamacare more than you love your country?" 

As expected, that set off Blackburn: "I've got to tell you something. I think that comments like that, that you are making, are just incredibly inappropriate." 

Roberts volleyed back with a fiery response: 

"You don't think it's incredibly inappropriate to shut down our government and take all the hostages of Americans that you've taken? No, it's not inappropriate because you took the government hostage through the shutdown and all the American people, you're now walking them to a cliff, the economy, and you're going to push them over one by one based on the fact that you don't like the ACA. That's all it is. You don't like the Affordable Care Act." 

"Listen to yourself!" Blackburn replied. "Just listen to the way you're sounding. My goodness! We didn't want a government shutdown. We don't want a government default." 

Roberts read off a recent quote from Blackburn praising Sen. Ted Cruz for his efforts in defunding Obamacare, because accusing: "So you have been planning a shutdown since August." 

"Not at all," Blackburn shot back. "What you are doing is so inappropriate. We didn't want a shutdown. What we want to do is solve problems."

No they could care less about solving problems, ALL they want to do is destroy the President's signature piece of legislation and are willing to shut down the governemtn and bankrupt the country to do it, and we have seen reams of evidence to support those conclusions. 

You know I gotta tell you that Thomas Roberts guy is rapidly becoming one of my new favorites on MSNBC. He will soon join the ranks of Alex Wagner, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O'Donnell as my one of my "must watch" MSNBC hosts.
