Yawn. Is it just me or is this show getting boring? As much as I like Shannon this show is not interesting to watch.

I'm sure these fine union folks do their very best. But note - Shannyn didn't look into the 'sweetheart deals' at all.

Anchorage police officers can drive their taken-home cars - our cars - to their homes in Wasilla and Knik Road now. The contract used to require them to park their patrol car in Eagle River and take their personal car the rest of the way but the secret Begich contract changed that. Now they drive their 'take-home' cars all the way to the Valley fueled by gas we buy, maintained and insured by us.

I enjoyed and listened to this show thoroughly. Thank you for posting it. I try and catch Shannyn's show via the tubes every Sunday. Some weeks I miss them. This was a great one to NOT miss!

"Compensated very well" Yes I would say so.

Begich negotiated/gave away big raises and committed to spending millions that the city doesn't have. Then the unions rallied around him and found enough votes to push him past Stevens.

Then the incoming mayor discovered he'd been lying to the Assembly about how much money there was to pay for all this.

Shannyn Moore's shows are great. I wish we had someone like her in our neck of the woods down here in the lower 48.

BTW, here's an update on the boycott the Discovery Channel and its sponsors petition: they have over 5,000 signers now! A lot of people are venting about their dislike of Sarah Palin and the way she has treated Alaskan wildlife and the environment! Hurrah.

114 million TVs in the US. I think TLC can lose 5,000 and do just fine.

I thought this week's show was great. Shannyn is a terrific talent. As for the commenter saying Shannyn never looked into the "sweetheart deals" I have heard her talk about them on the radio. I attended the assembly meetings when the contracts were dissected in the open. There ARE NO SWEETHEART DEALS!

As a taxpayer, We don't pay the cops ENOUGH money for putting their lives on the line day in and day out. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM having them drive their patrol cars all the way to the Mat Su Valley. Even though they are out of their jurisdiction, it is always a deterrent to crime when a police car is around.

IS THAT ALL YOU GOT ANON 8:36am??? Private sector companies allow their employees to drive the company paid car home and the police ought to have the same deal.

THAT'S THE SWEETHEART DEAL??? Give me a break.

Great show Shannyn. Thanks for AGAIN exposing the lies of the RIGHT!!!
