On Monday night, President Donald Trump welcomed Seb Gorka back into the White House—not for a job, but for a meal. 

The president was joined for dinner in the White House residence by Fox News personalities, including host Jesse Watters and Gorka, a former White House official and aide to former chief strategist Steve Bannon. According to a White House official and two other sources familiar with the meeting, President Trump invited Gorka and Watters because “he couldn’t get enough of them on TV,” as one source put it, and wanted to confab with them about what he’d seen on Fox News, politics, gossip, and his administration. 

On Thursday night, Watters tweeted out an image of a menu—which includes a dessert of milk chocolate mousse—signed by Donald J. Trump, reading, “To Jesse[,] You are great!” 

“It was so lit,” another source added, referring to the Trump-Gorka-Watters summit. The source said the president joked that he “missed” Gorka.

Now if you have been unfortunate enough to have ever seen either Watters or Gorka on cable news you would realize that these are two of the most egregious examples of the infamous "fake news" that you could find.

Watters is an arrogant little prick who seems to be competing with Martin Skrelli for the most punchable face on TV, while Gorka is a seething cauldron of racist bullshit.

Now that alone could explain why Trump is such a fan boy, however in the case of Wattters there is a added quality that Trump probably admires.

Adultery.

The network’s prominent host Jesse Watters — who dined on Monday with President Trump — is in the midst of divorce due to an affair with a 25-year-old associate producer. 

Watters’ wife, Noelle Watters, filed for divorce in October. The couple has twin girls. 

Sources said the 39-year-old host informed the network of his adulterous relationship with Emma DiGiovine shortly after Noelle filed divorce papers.

DiGiovine was transferred to “The Ingraham Angle.” 

DiGiovine and Watters are still dating, sources said. A woman at DiGiovine’s home in Cranford, N.J., declined to comment.

Omarosa may have taped conversations inside the Trump White House and now fears being pulled into the Mueller investigation.

Manigault-Newman has met with Harvey Weinstein’s former attorney Lisa Bloom and former Bill Cosby lawyer Monique Pressley, among others.

It is not immediately clear why the former “Apprentice” star is seeking legal help, but those with knowledge of her unceremonious removal from the White House say she is “very concerned” that trouble is on the horizon. 

The 43-year-old apparently believes she may become a fixture in Mueller’s investigation into possible connections between the Trump campaign and Russia’s election meddling.

“Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone,” a source disclosed. “Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.” 

A recent ban on personal cell phones in the West Wing, which followed the release of Michael Wolff’s explosive White House tell-all was related to Manigault-Newman’s track record of recording conversations, the source added. 

The White House of course poo poos the idea that Omarosa may have recorded conversations, but let's face it they deny essentially everything these days.

By the way I actually think my headline is misleading (I wrote it to reflect the reporting from the New York Daily News.), as I am positive that Omarosa would LOVE to be subpoenaed by the Mueller team and get all of that sweet sweet press attention.

As for whether or not she recorded conversations in the White House, I certainly think it is possible, but it is also possible that this was a story that she planted herself in order to drum up interest in her book.

Somebody left an unidentified package on Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin's driveway. But don't worry according to the LAPD bomb squad its just good old American horse manure.

Los Angeles police got a whiff of horse manure intended for Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin at his Bel-Air home Saturday night. 

A neighbor discovered the Christmas-themed package on the driveway of the Trump cabinet member around 5:30 p.m. local time and called police, a Los Angeles Police Department official said. 

The bomb squad opened the gift-wrapped surprise and found a “pretty good quantity” of horse manure inside, LAPD Sgt. Briggs said.

Local authorities wrapped up their investigation at the Bel-Air home a short time later and Briggs said the Secret Service would be picking up the box of feces on Sunday.

I typically do not like gags like this, as I find them childish and immature.

Having said that this is a pretty good childish and immature gag.

And they gift wrapped it, which is such a nice touch.

Perhaps Mnuchin can start following EPA Director Scott Pruitt's example and start having his office, and driveway, swept for unwelcome packages of feces.

Just a thought.

Donald Trump fires Omarosa. Update!

The White House said Wednesday that Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former “The Apprentice” contestant turned political neophyte, is leaving the administration next month. 

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told The Associated Press that Manigault Newman’s resignation is effective Jan. 20, one year since Trump’s inauguration. 

Manigault Newman’s departure was rumored back in September following a number of controversies. 

A month earlier, the 43-year-old endured a chaotic trip to the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in New Orleans. 

Her appearance at an event during the convention was described as confrontational and hectic as she aggressively insisted reporters “Ask me a question about me,” while sidestepping inquiries about the administration. 

The two-time “Apprentice” villain turned senior White House official also ruffled feathers when she reportedly brought members of her 39-person bridal party to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for an extended wedding photo shoot. 

The unannounced April visit to the White House in her bridal attire caught fellow senior aides and some security officials by surprise.

"Ask me about me." That right there was probably enough to get a megalomaniac like Trump to fire her.

Omarosa is just one more of Trump's closest confidants who is now being ushered out the door.

That leaves this unhinged and volatile lunatic even more isolated and alone than before.

I certainly hope that somebody is keeping those nuclear codes well hidden.

New York man who shot and killed woman he mistook for a deer charged with manslaughter.

A hunter in western New York who mistook a 43-year-old woman for a deer was charged with manslaughter on Thursday. 

Rosemary Billquist was walking her dogs the day before Thanksgiving in the town of Sherman when she was shot once by Thomas Jadlowski. 

Jadlowski called 911 and stayed with Billquist until help arrived, but she was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital in Pennsylvania. 

The 43-year-old Billquist was shot at about 5:30 p.m. It is illegal to hunt big game after sunset or before dawn in New York state.

"Today, Mr. Jadlowski is being held accountable for his dangerous and reckless conduct when he shot his neighbor in the dark," Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos said.

Jadlowski was charged with hunting after hours and second degree manslaughter.

Of course if this had happened in Texas they probably would have charged the woman's corpse with wandering carelessly into the path of a bullet.

That's Professor Hillary Clinton if you please.

Hillary Clinton is testing the waters on a return to academia. 

The former U.S. Secretary of State and presidential nominee is in talks with Columbia University to take on a formal role at the Ivy League — and potentially house her archives there, multiple sources told the Daily News. 

One option under discussion is an esteemed “University Professor” role that would allow Clinton to lecture across a range of schools and departments without the requirement of a strict course load, one source said. 

A former law professor, Clinton could maintain the vaunted but vague role indefinitely or decide at a later date she wants to settle at Columbia's celebrated law school or maybe the School of International and Public Affairs, the source said.

"It's all fluid. It could be a number of things. No decisions have been made, but there are talks,” a different source with knowledge of Clinton's thinking told The News.

"Professor Hillary Clinton," yeah I could see that. 

A lot of former government officials have already taken a similar path into academia, and she certainly has a wealth of knowledge to share.

I actually think that her husband, who President Obama once named "The Explainer-in-Chief," might be better suited to such a profession, but Hillary would be far more than competent.

I think I would personally enjoy taking a class from a woman with her vast experience, and I can only imagine how empowering it would be for young college age women to hear about her life and the lessons she has learned.

Estranged husband in Texas murders his wife and seven of her friends with handgun. Update!

The mother of a woman who was shot dead by her estranged husband in a mass shooting in Texas said he was upset that she was moving on after she filed for divorce. 

Meredith Hight, 27, was hosting a cookout for her friends and colleagues at her home in Plano on Sunday when Spencer James Hight crashed the party and opened fire, killing a total of eight people, police said. Meredith Hight filed for divorce in July and while her husband had moved out months ago, he collected his belongings from the home just days before the shooting, her mother Debbie Lane told WFAA. 

"I think he saw our comfort, ease and happiness and her embracing new life and resented it to the maximum and responded the way he did,” Lane told the local news station.

Hight was killed by the police officer who responded to the call of a shooting.

As you can probably guess Hight had been violent toward his former ex-wife, though she did not report this to the police, and he had a problem with alcohol.

The argument can be made that this man could have killed his wife with a number of weapons that would not have included a gun, but to kill eight people, five of them grown men, that requires an instrument specifically designed to take multiple lives.

Once again these weapons are advertised as tools with which to protect yourself and your family, but in the vast majority of the cases, if used at all it is to cause harm to yourself, your family, or other innocent people.

Update: Almost missed this. There was also a school shooting in Washington yesterday with one fatality.

One of the federal prosecutors that Trump tried to get rid of refused to go gentle into that good night. So he got fired.

Preet Bharara, the crusading U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York who was asked to submit his resignation letter Friday, along with the 45 other U.S. Attorneys held over from the Obama administration, has yet to do so, a federal law enforcement official tells The Daily Beast.

Since receiving the letter demanding his resignation Friday afternoon, Bharara has yet to speak to the press or to his full office. Friday evening, the law enforcement official said, Bharara told his section chiefs that he’d yet to submit the requested letter and may instead challenge Sessions to fire him.

Hey we may have another Sally Yates on our hands.

As it turned out Bharara did indeed refuse to hand in his resignation, so Trump did what Trump does best.

To be clear Trump just had his Attorney General fire a federal prsoecutor who was in the middle of investigating his potentially illegal ties to Russia.

The feds are conducting an “ongoing criminal investigation” of Fox News Channel and whether Rupert Murdoch’s company hid from investors the payments it made to employees who alleged they were sexually harassed, an attorney alleged in court Wednesday. 

Attorney Judd Burstein — who is representing former Fox News host Andrea Tantaros in a suit against the cable news network and its ex-chairman Roger Ailes — said one of his other clients had received a subpoena on Monday to testify before a federal grand jury. 

“I was told by the U.S. attorney’s office there is an ongoing criminal investigation, relating to these allegations, all of these allegations,” Burstein said, referring to the avalanche of sexual harassment claims that resulted in Ailes’ departure from the network he built.

Wait for it......

The subpoena, issued by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara’s office, noted “alleged violations of criminal law by Fox,” Burstein said. 

BANG!

That's right folks the same federal prosecutor that was likely investigating Trump's ties with Russia was also investigating criminal charges against Fox News.

And now he has been shitcanned. 

Not in a million years would all of this be a believable piece of fiction writing, and yet it is happening right now in real life.

Donald Trump can't shut down his so-called "charity" while there is a lawsuit pending so he decides to defend it instead.

Donald Trump might have jumped the gun on calling it quits for his namesake foundation. 

The President-elect announced late Saturday afternoon that he would dissolve the Donald J. Trump Foundation "to avoid even the appearance of any conflict with my role as President," adding he intends to "continue to pursue my strong interest in philanthropy in other ways." 

But Amy Spitalnick, the press secretary for New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, told the Daily News in a statement Monday evening that Trump can't simply fold his controversy-embroiled foundation when he pleases. 

"The Trump Foundation is still under investigation by this office and cannot legally dissolve until that investigation is complete," Spitalnick said, declining to reveal any details about the probe. "The Foundation's fundraising activities remain suspended following the AG's notice of violation earlier this year."

Oops.

So since he cannot rid himself of the stench of his non-charity, Trump instead decides to lie about it on Twitter.

In fact we already know that Trump has used his charity as a kind of personal piggy bank, using it to settle a lawsuit, and to buy himself a picture. Of himself.

Actually the economy has been improving steadily for most of Obama's eight years.

We will probably not see what impact his presidency has for almost a year into it.

At which time I am confident he will blame any bad news on the previous administration. 

The AP and USA Today combine forces to study just how any children are dying from gun violence in this country every year.

Here is what the study found as reported by the New York Daily News:  

The findings: During the first six months of this year, minors died from accidental shootings — at their own hands, or at the hands of other children or adults — at a pace of one every other day, far more than limited federal statistics indicate.

Using information collected by the Gun Violence Archive, a nonpartisan research group, news reports and public sources, the media outlets spent six months analyzing the circumstances of every death and injury from accidental shootings involving children ages 17 and younger from Jan. 1, 2014, to June 30 of this year — more than 1,000 incidents in all. Among the findings: 

— Deaths and injuries spike for children under 5, with 3-year-olds the most common shooters and victims among young children. Nearly 90 3-year-olds were killed or injured in the shootings, the vast majority of which were self-inflicted. 

— Accidental shootings spike again for ages 15-17, when victims are most often fatally shot by other children but typically survive self-inflicted gunshots. 

— They most often happen at the children's homes, with handguns legally owned by adults for self-protection. They are more likely to occur on weekends or around holidays such as Christmas. 

— States in the South, including Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia, are among those with the highest per capita rates of accidental shootings involving minors. 

In all, more than 320 minors age 17 and under and more than 30 adults were killed in accidental shootings involving minors. Nearly 700 other children and 78 adults were injured. 

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 74 minors died from accidental discharges of firearms in 2014, the latest year for which comparable data are available. The AP and USA TODAY analysis counted 113 for that year, suggesting the federal government missed a third of the cases.

Great, so now we know that the information that we had which horrified us concerning the number of children dying due to gun violence, is actually watered down and the REAL numbers are even more horrific.

And all it does is to reinforce the knowledge that the guns people buy to protect their families actually put their families at greater risk.

Just try to imagine how many more children would be alive today without the 2nd Amendment to protect us in this country.

A bigoted Brooklyn woman launched a sickening attack on two Muslim women pushing their babies in strollers — punching them in the face and trying to pull off their hijabs, prosecutors said Friday. 

Emirjeta Xhelili, 32, hurled Islamophobic insults as she pounced on the two victims near her Bath Beach home about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, authorities said. 

“Get the f--k out of here,” Xhelili, 32, allegedly yelled at the pair, according to prosecutors. “Get the f--k out of America, b-----s.” 

As she punched the 23-year-old women in the face and kicked them in their legs, she tried to rip the traditional Muslim veils off their heads at Bay 20th St. and Cropsey Aves., police sources said.

“This is America — you shouldn’t be different from us,” she yelled, prosecutors said.

The woman also has a rather repugnant presence on social media: 

Xhelili has no previous arrests and works at Noi Due, a kosher Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side, her lawyer said. Her vile social media musings include several bizarre tweets cheering the candidacy of Donald Trump. 

“America is the ark of Noah,” one reads. “Trump’s gonna win.”

Gee, can you even imagine what this country will be like if this woman's candidate actually wins?

I am just going to move my refrigerator, computer, and TV's into my bedroom now, because if that happens I am never getting out of bed again.

George Zimmerman brags about shooting Trayvon Martin, gets punched in the face. Finally, some justice.

George Zimmerman was punched in the face at a Florida bar after bragging about killing Trayvon Martin, officials and witnesses said. 

The former neighborhood watchman said he was clocked by a drunken diner who mistook him for someone else at the Gators Riverside Grille in Sanford around 5:00 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report obtained by the Daily News. 

“This man just punched me in the face,” Zimmerman told a 911 dispatcher. “He said he was going to kill me. You need to send three or four cops.” 

But staff at the restaurant and witnesses countered the acquitted murderer’s account and said the incident was nothing more than a shoving match that stemmed from Zimmerman bragging about his notorious past. 

According to the article the guy who hit Zimmerman left on a motorcycle leaving Zimmerman to weave his own tale of the incident, in which he insisted that the guy did not hit him because he was George Zimmerman but because he mistook him for Matthew Apperson the man who shot at Zimmerman during a traffic altercation.

You know, because George Zimmerman's face is not one of the most recognizable faces in America right now.

Personally I think that anybody who believes Zimmerman's version of the events that happened the night he shot and killed Trayvon Martin is an idiot. He has shown himself over and over again to be a habitual liar who pisses people off and then cries like a bitch when they respond.

As for punching him in the face, I personally have no idea why that does not happen every day of his life.

Is anybody not mocking Bernie Sanders right now?

After fighting it for five decades Mississippi school district finally forced to end segregation. Wait, what?

A Mississippi school district has been ordered to desegregate its schools after what the Justice Department called a five-decade-long legal battle. 

The Cleveland School District, about two hours northwest of Jackson, was told that it must consolidate its schools in order to provide real desegregation for students in the city of about 12,000. 

Residents first filed suit against the Bolivar County of Education in July 1965, according to an opinion handed down on Friday.

Holy crap! They fought allowing black students into their schools for fifty years? 

Gee I wonder how long it will be before they let them use their drinking fountains?

Hillary Clinton sat down for an interview with the New York Daily News just like the one that caused Bernie Sanders so much difficulty. Guess how it went.

One word would describe Hillary Clinton’s Saturday sit-down with the New York Daily News editorial board: Boring! And that’s a good thing. 

The 80-minute wonkfest with the two-term former senator from the Empire State was notably different from the editorial board meeting with Sen. Bernie Sanders a week earlier. That gathering was gasp-worthy for the Vermont Independent’s seeming inability to talk beyond his stump speech. Clinton had the opposite issue. She could talk — and talk and talk — about anything in thoughtful paragraphs stuffed with details.

Jonathon Capehart then goes on to lay out some of the questions that Clinton effortlessly knocked out of the park, which you can read for yourself by clicking that link at the top.

At the end Capehart sums it all up thusly: 

Clinton talked about the broader economy, the U.S. relationship with Israel, mass incarceration and other issues during her Saturday visit at the Daily News. But I highlight her responses on the banks and college affordability to show that even on Sanders’s turf, Clinton has ideas, plans, something to say. When Sanders was asked about foreign policy, Clinton’s domain as a former secretary of state, he more than disappointed. “I don’t know the answer to that,” Sanders said when asked whether President Obama had “the right policy” in dealing with the Islamic State. 

Daily News columnist Linda Stasi wrote over the weekend that Clinton was “as totally well informed as you expect her to be.” That’s not nearly as exciting as listening to a presidential candidate walk through policy like one walks on thin ice. But at this stage in the nomination contest, I’ll take “totally well informed” and the boredom that goes with it than the worrisome alternative.

Boring, well informed, confident, I'll take those attributes as positives for our next President.

Paul Krugman accuses Bernie Sanders himself of becoming a "Bernie Bro."

Mr. Sanders is starting to sound like his worst followers. Bernie is becoming a Bernie Bro. 

Let me illustrate the point about issues by talking about bank reform. 

The easy slogan here is “Break up the big banks.” It’s obvious why this slogan is appealing from a political point of view: Wall Street supplies an excellent cast of villains. But were big banks really at the heart of the financial crisis, and would breaking them up protect us from future crises? 

Many analysts concluded years ago that the answers to both questions were no. Predatory lending was largely carried out by smaller, non-Wall Street institutions like Countrywide Financial; the crisis itself was centered not on big banks but on “shadow banks” like Lehman Brothers that weren’t necessarily that big. And the financial reform that President Obama signed in 2010 made a real effort to address these problems. It could and should be made stronger, but pounding the table about big banks misses the point. 

Yet going on about big banks is pretty much all Mr. Sanders has done. On the rare occasions on which he was asked for more detail, he didn’t seem to have anything more to offer. And this absence of substance beyond the slogans seems to be true of his positions across the board.

I think Krugman has a point here.

Sanders likes to use bumper sticker ready slogans to make his arguments, which sound good when shouted out at rallies, but are much trickier to rationalize when confronted with just how they would translate into actual policy, and who he would find to support him in creating those policies.

And as we learned by reading that New York Daily News interview Sanders does not have a clear idea himself of how to accomplish what he promises, if elected, to accomplish.

Remember if your only tool is a hammer then every problem you see is a nail.

But what happens if your hammer is non-existent?

Speaking of non-existent that seems to be the definition for Sanders' invitation from the Vatican as well.

Sanders earlier on Friday had said the Vatican had invited him to attend a conference on social and economic issues to be held on April 15, just days before the New York primary. 

The Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences is hosting the event. "It was an invitation from the Vatican," Sanders said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "I was very moved by the invitation."

Invitation from the Vatican, during a contentious American election season? Why would the Pope interfere like that?

The short answer is that he wouldn't.

This from US News: 

Margaret Archer, president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, blasted the Vermont senator for "monumental discourtesy," suggesting he wrangled a back-door invitation that kept her in the dark, according to Bloomberg Politics.

"Sanders made the first move, for the obvious reasons," Archer said. "I think in a sense he may be going for the Catholic vote but this is not the Catholic vote and he should remember that and act accordingly – not that he will."

This was further corroborated by the Pope's spokesperson:

Father Federico Lombardi, the Pope's spokesman told the Italian news agency Ansa that the Academy of Social Sciences invited Sanders, not Pope Francis, and that His Holiness doesn't plan to give the senator an audience. 

"For the moment there is no expectation that there will also be a meeting with the pope," Lombardi said.

You know when your brand is that of a truth teller you might want to make sure that the truth is what you are telling. 

Update: To be fair it appears that Vatican politics are playing a role in this little drama, and in fact Bernie may not be the one who is failing to tell the truth.

It is still accurate to say that Sanders was not invited by the Pope, but not accurate to say he was not invited by the Vatican.

Bernie Sanders comes under fire for remarks concerning suing gun manufacturers.

Presidential populist Bernie Sanders came under blistering fire Tuesday for opposing efforts by families of Sandy Hook shooting victims to sue gun manufacturers. 

Sanders, in an exclusive interview with the Daily News last week, said, “No, I don’t,” when asked if victims of a crime with a gun should be able to sue the manufacturer.

This of course elicited a response from Hillary Clinton who said:

“I was against it, and he was for it, to give immunity from liability to gunmakers and sellers,” front-runner Hillary Clinton told supporters at a campaign event at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. “We can reverse this, and 92% of Americans and 85% of gun owners agree that we should.”

However she was not the only one to have sharp words for Sanders over his response.

Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy said the public doesn’t need “apologists for the NRA.” “He is just wrong,” Malloy, criticizing Sanders, told The News. 

“He is dead wrong on guns. He had an opportunity to educate the people of Vermont about guns. Vermont is small enough that he could have gone house to house to educate people about guns.” 

Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy took to Twitter to shoot down Sanders’ gun stance, saying the presidential candidate is out of line. 

“For Sanders to say that the Sandy Hook families should be barred from court, even if the weapon was negligently made, is wrong,” Murphy tweeted. 

“Bernie is a friend, but this is really bad. Dems can’t nominate a candidate who supports gun manufacturer immunity.

As you know I am not a single issue voter, and I think single issue voters are idiots, however dealing with the shocking number of shooting deaths that we have in America, and the overwhelming number of guns in the hands of people who should never have even one in their possession, is a priority that I think most liberals have in common.

Personally after reading that New York Daily News interview with Sanders I cannot for the life of me understand why anybody still supports him in this race.

I guess cognitive dissonance is not only a trait to be found among the conservatives in this country.

Pro-gun mom shot in the back by four year old son with gun left in the backseat of her car.

A proud, pro-gun mom was accidentally shot by her 4-year-old son — just a day after the Second Amendment-loving woman boasted about her tot’s shooting skills. 

The Florida boy found the loaded weapon in mom Jamie Gilt’s car Tuesday and shot her as they cruised down a Putnam County road, officials said. The 31-year-old mother survived the mid-drive attack and is in stable condition. 

“Even my 4 year old gets jacked up to target shoot with the .22,” Gilt wrote on Facebook Monday during a fiery online debate about guns as a means of self-defense. The Jacksonville mom maintained she has the right to shoot anyone who threatens her and her family — and she's teaching her kids to do the same.

Not sure if that was the "toy" that put the hole in her body, but it is clear she does not respect the deadliness of firearms.

I would like to think that this woman will have learned her lesson, especially since both she and her child survived what could have been a fatal incident for one or both of them, but if this post from her Facebook page is any indication she might be one of those slow learner types.

New York Daily News comes out hard against the NRA for blocking laws that would keep high powered guns out of the hands of terrorists.

A New York City tabloid is continuing its battle with the National Rifle Association, calling NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre “Jihadi Wayne” on the cover of Monday morning’s edition for opposing sensible gun laws that could prevent terrorists from purchasing high-powered weapons. 

The New York Daily News screaming headline “Nowhere To Hide, Jihadhi Wayne” on Monday morning comes on the heels of a similar headline last Wednesday reading: “NRA’s Sick Jihad.” 

At issue is the NRA using their overwhelming influence with lawmakers to block a law that would ban anyone on the terrorist watch list from purchasing a gun. 

The bill, known as the Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act, was proposed in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris that left 129 people in Paris dead and hundreds more injured. Gun control advocates say that a legal loophole allows suspects on the terrorist watch list to purchase guns while the same list prevents them from flying on U.S. airlines. 

The bill was originally proposed in 2007, but has been blocked by conservative lawmakers who are heavily backed by the NRA.

Well good for the New York Daily News. Which is not something I get to say very often.

So I guess the next time Americans are gunned down in the streets by terrorists, most likely NOT Muslim terrorists, we will know exactly where to lay the blame.

Not that I did not know that already of course.
