Seriously what in the hell is wrong with people?
And don't forget these people raise children, and vote in elections.
Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Glenn Beck fears for Carol Costello's humanity, after she mocks Bristol Palin's lies to police. Seriously?
Courtesy of Mediaite:
Arguably the biggest media story in the last few days has been CNN anchor Carol Costello‘s inappropriately lighthearted tease of audio about that now-infamous fight involving the Palins. Glenn Beck today expressed his disgust with how Costello was “reveling in the abuse” of Bristol Palin.
Beck found it striking that CNN and Costello “took such pride” in scolding the NFL over domestic abuse and yet she presented this case of a woman being assaulted an in unserious manner.
Beck called it “really despicable” and said rather than pressuring Costello to resign, he just wants to appeal to her humanity. Beck said that Costello’s clearly “become so politicized” when it comes to the Palins, “she’s lost the humanity of this family.”
At one point Beck says that she was "dragged by the feet across the law, with her dress coming off of her." No, no she wasn't ever dragged by the homeowner.
She was carried away, in a full nelson, by her father's good friend Mark McKenna, who admits to that fact on the audio. (Go to "Police interview the Palin family and Mark McKenna" and fast forward to 18:30 on the audio.)
Now according to McKenna Bristol was knocked down by "some girls" who were coming to Korey Kingenmeyer's aid. But that was totally appropriate in response to Bristol's drunken, assaultive behavior.
So if Glenn Beck wants to waste his time worrying about anybody's "humanity" then he needs to direct his concerns to this white trash family, and their inherent need to constantly play the victim and attempt to destroy anybody who dares to defy them in any way.

RNC Chairman, Reince Prebus, tells Morning Joe that he ONLY wants moderators that are "actually interested in the Republican Party and our nominees." Also considers doing debates on talk radio.
Courtesy of Mediaite:
After Priebus claimed that there was a porous division at best between NBC Entertainment, which is producing the Hillary miniseries, and NBC News/MSNBC, Brzezinski pointed out that he had no problem appearing on her MSNBC show. “My point is you expected an honest and fair conversation here, even though we’re a part of NBC,” she said. “You understand there’s a difference.
“But I’m not going to have you moderate the Republican debate,” Priebus said. When Nicole Wallace asked why not, he continued, “Because you’re not actually interested in the future of the Republican Party and our nominees. That’s not a slam on you, Mika, but I have to choose moderators that are actually interested in the Republican Party and our nominees. It’s not going to be NBC, if they continue to go forward with this miniseries.”
So to be clear, Prebus only wants moderators who are Republicans. Which begs the question "What kind of Republicans?"
Because let's face it, there are extreme differences within the Republican party. And a moderator who would be very understanding and sympathies toward Ted Cruz, is going to be muhc less so toward Chris Christie or Marco Rubio.
So if Prebus is really trying to find moderators who would be fair to all participants he would in fact be better served by members of the press who take their jobs seriously, and remain ABOVE partisanship, rather than members of Fox news or Breitbart's necrophiliac fan site.
Which by the way is what we have always expected from our moderators.
And by the way what happens to the eventual candidate when he reaches the general election and has to debateHillary the Democratic candidate? After being treated with kid gloves, and having their ass kissed, how will they deal with a REAL journalist asking real questions?
And just in case you think that "Rinse Twice and Prebus" is merely upset about the Hillary documentary and will back off of this point eventually, here is where he said might be an appropriate venue for the GOP debates:
“Chairman, what do you think about a talk radio debate, where maybe I get together with my buddy Sean Hannity and maybe a Mark Levin, and we interview some of the candidates?” Tantaros asked. “Because the base I think would like that.”
“I actually think that’s a very good idea,” Priebus agreed. “I mean, there’s a lot of good people out there that can actually understand the base of the Republican Party, the primary voters.”
Talk radio? THIS is the place where Prebus thinks his candidates will be protected from undue scrutiny?
Let's face it, this is NOT about the Hillary movie. This is clearly telegraphing conservative fear that once America gets a look at the clown car of candidates this year they will launch them off the stage.
Talk radio, the next thing he will suggest is that reporters send their questions via telegraph and then they will answered by carrier pigeon.

Karl Rove takes his cues from the ScyFy network in newest attack on Obamacare.
Courtesy of Political Ticker:
Karl Rove-backed Crossroads GPS has a new online attack video criticizing Obamacare in a howling, chomping mass of fury and destruction that shall forever terrify the shark/tornado/health care-phobics of the world.
Parodying the SyFy network's phenomenon "Sharknado," the anti-Obamacare version is called "ObamaCareNado."
"Just when you thought it was safe to go to the doctor," the schlock-stick narrator tells viewers, "a rising tide of health care costs."
Tornadoes rip through scenery and people in the 47-second 'trailer,' bearing the faces of prime Crossroads targets like House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, and of course the president.
"Nobody is safe from its wrath," the video says of "ObamaCareNado." "Leaving a path of destruction through our economy."
Sharknado for those of you who had the good taste to hear nothing about it was a ridiculously over the top low. budget cable, film that took advantage of the Discovery Channel's Shark Week by combining a natural disaster with sharks.
References to it exploded all over Twitter and other social media outlets, and apparently that was all it took to get Karl Rove's attention.
After all combining actual problems with the imaginary ones inside of his own head is a Karl Rove point of pride.
Interestingly enough this comes while news of the incredible savings enjoyed in New York due to the Affordable Care Act are all over the news, and on the same day that President Obama gave a speech touting its many positive impacts on the lives of the American people.
You know at this point it is becoming almost impossible to miss the fact that the Republicans are living in abject fear that Obamacare will be a huge success and they will forever be the party of obstructionism that did everything in their power to keep the American people from receiving better healthcare and lower insurance premiums.
At some point you would think that some GOP politicians might start jumping off from this Republican version of the Titanic and start swimming to safety before the waters of public opinion pull the party into the inky blackness of obscurity and irrelevance.
But instead they simply keep steaming ahead as if completely oblivious to the monstrous icebergs rising up out of the fog before them. And yet no such clarity seems to be asserting itself.
Well as a Democrat I do not feel compelled to point out the obvious, however once all the dust has settled I do plan to dance on a couple of partisan graves. Just letting everybody know.

Sarah and Todd Palin demonstrate why there will be NO fitness book coming for the Palins.
The above picture was posted on Brancy's blog earlier today.
I think this is a great time for a caption contest.
Here let me start.
"Remember as soon as you hear the click you get your ugly ass as far from me a possible!"
"Hey I think I accidentally found where you keep your actual boob!"
"This close I can literally hear the wind whistling through your head."
"Don't jostle them, the sloshing makes me have to pee."
"What IS that smell?"
Now you see why real Alaskans are unafraid of the Toad. With those pipe cleaners dangling from his shoulders he would be hard pressed to kick anybody's ass up here. Hell I have seen a number of women out in the Valley who could easily snap him in half like a Popsicle stick.

Recognizing the strewn wreckage that is left of Sarah Palin's once promising political career.
Courtesy of The Voice:
Claiming she did not want to be part of the “political blood sport” that is Alaska and pleading for the understanding of the constituents she was abandoning, she decided she liked the spotlight of the national stage and jumped ship.
That moment was the quintessential branding of a candidate. She was already seen as a rank amateur in the scope of national politics, a walking hair-do posing as a serious candidate and an overall dim bulb who could not keep her own foot out of her own mouth.
Add the fact she did not want to finish out her first term in high office under the cloud of being a “lame duck,” saying “that’s not how I am wired,” she added quitter to her already featherweight resume.
Rebranding yourself in politics is a feat as attainable as climbing Mt. Everest with only a scarf and gloves to protect you from the elements. Changing a political image is possible but is a glacial process that most do not have the patience or the fortitude for simply based on their career of choice.
Lay back, stay out of the headlines, pick your spots carefully, make a speech or two and work behind the scenes to change a tarnished image is just the START of what you need to do to change your brand in American politics.
Sarah Palin was the antithesis of that. (Gee, ya think?)
She continued to put her foot in her mouth, go on ego driven, useless bus tours, string her supporters along about a Presidential run, all the while eagerly taking their money and jumped on every bandwagon that rolled in front of her.
Palin joined the ranks of punditry at Fox News, fired up a reality show and never shut her mouth.
She went from Tea Party darling to blabbering mouthpiece. She went from possible Republican stalwart to being a joke in her own party. She went from politician to pseudo-celebrity in the span of less than five years.
Palin squandered her chance and breezed past her window of opportunity to even make a half-hearted showing in a primary or two in the 2012 election. Now the GOP will roll out a field in 2016 that she will get trampled by if she even thought of campaigning in New Hampshire.
She has morphed into a caricature and a rock thrower with zero credibility outside of the few “mama bear” zealots who still think she is viable in the political arena. She is a sideshow of her own creation.
Overlooking the “we’ve obviously got to stand with our North Korean allies” and “I can see Russia from my backyard” nuggets of insight from the former governor, a serious look at her tactics and actions over the past five years show an egotist and a pretender.
The author of this editorial, Matthew Fahr, goes on to state that Palin has one last chance for a political resurgence, and that would entail winning Begich's Senate seat in Alaska.
I am happy to inform Mr. Fahr that if THAT is her only hope, and I would agree that it undoubtedly is, then she has NO hope whatsoever, because Alaskans would rather rather shoot grizzly bear repellent directly into their eyes before EVER letting that crazed lunatic represent them ever again.
Living up here may indicate to some that we are suckers for punishment, but even WE are not that masochistic!
Other than that I found myself in total agreement with every thing that he said.

Sarah Palin a visiting scholar at Harvard? Is such a thing possible? No, no it's not.
![]() |
| "Me a professor? Who in their right mind would try to learn anything from me?" |
This is how the humor site started off their article:
Former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has joined Harvard University as a visiting scholar.
According to an official press release, the conservative pundit and reality television star will teach four courses over three years at Harvard's prestigious Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Mass., beginning in fall 2013.
The transition to academia comes just weeks after Palin was unceremoniously released form her contract at Fox News, which had served as her primary source of income since 2009.
The former Alaskan governor will focus her classes on topics close to her heart, including the war on terror, welfare reform, U.S. evangelicals, and oil and gas development.
Sarah Palin teaching a class in U.S. Evangelicals or welfare reform? How could ANYBODY not know that was ridiculous?
Well as Mediaite reports there have already been a few that rose to he bait:
This story has already tricked TIME Magazine writer/editor Bobby Ghosh, who sent out the link via his Twitter account noting “No, this NOT from The Onion.”
It sure isn’t Mr. Ghosh – it’s Daily Currant! Ghosh has since deleted the tweet, but one of his 5,000+ followers immortalized it in a retweet:
You know the problem with Sarah Palin is that she is such a walking and talking parody of herself that it makes it almost impossible to tell where the incidental humor ends and the purposeful humor begins.

Is this how the NRA and pro-gun politicians want us to protect our children?
![]() |
| Bullet Blocker |
"Basically, there's three models," says Derek Williams. "A SwissGear that's made for teens, and we've got an Avengers and a Disney Princess backpack for little kids."
Williams is the president of Amendment II, a Salt Lake City-based company that manufactures lightweight body armor for law enforcement and military use. But lately they've moved into a different market: body armor for kids. Six months ago, Amendment II introduced a new line of backpacks, built with the company's signature carbon nanotube armor, designed to keep kids safe in the event of school shootings. Since Friday's massacre at a Newtown, Connecticut, elementary school, sales have gone through the roof. "I can't go into exact sales numbers, but basically we tripled our sales volume of backpacks that we typically do in a month—in one week," Williams says.
With thoughts of defenseless children seared into the national consciousness, the company doesn't plan on letting the crisis go to waste. "We want to be sensitive to how we do that, but we are gonna try to get the word out that this product does exist that there are ways to at least provide our children with some protection," Williams says.
Armed teachers, metal detectors at school entrances, and now bullet proof backpacks?
These are the suggestions of people who simply do NOT want to address the real problem.
If we pass laws that dramatically reduce the number of weapons in our country. If we create legislation that makes it harder to get guns in this country. And if we pass laws severely punishing those who illegally sell guns in this country. Then we DON'T have to send our children to schools set up like high security prisons while toting around heavy armored backpacks in this country.
How hard is that to figure out?
This is supposed to be the country that promotes and protects our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
How happy is a parent who has to spend the day worrying about the safety of her little girl?
How much liberty do our children enjoy if they have to pass through a metal detector and have their backpacks checked for possible firearms as they enter their public schools?
And how much is our ability to live a long life improved when at any given time we are surrounded by an unknown number of death dealing weaponry?
Does this appear to be a viable solution to our gun problem?
And how do reasonable people communicate and negotiate with those that think it is?

To save face Fox News claims that journalist who outed them during interview as a "wing of the Republican party" apologized afterward. Journalist: "I don't remember any such apology."
Courtesy of TPM:
Fox News Channel executive vice president Michael Clemente on Monday responded to the much-discussed interview with Tom Ricks, claiming that the Pulitizer Prize winner apologized privately for criticizing the network's coverage of the September attack in Benghazi, Libya. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Clemente accused Ricks of using the interview to generate publicity for his new book, The Generals. Clemente also seemed to take exception to the lack of public contrition from Ricks.
“When Mr. Ricks ignored the anchor’s question, it became clear that his goal was to bring attention to himself -- and his book," Clemente told THR via email. "He apologized in our offices afterward but doesn’t have the strength of character to do that publicly."
But that's news to Ricks, who told THR in his own email that he never offered an apology to Fox — privately or publicly.
"Please ask Mr. Clemente what the words of my supposed apology were. I'd be interested to know," Ricks said. "Frankly, I don't remember any such apology."
Oh, snap! That is going to leave mark!
Update: Mr. Ricks provided more information to Politico:
“Clemente is making it up, and it is sloppy of Hollywood Reporter to not ask him for specifics — what exactly am I alleged to have said? — and also to seek a response from me,” Ricks wrote in an e-mail. “Why are they doing this? Because their MO is that when the facts aren’t on their side, they attack the person.”
However don't think this clearly coordinated attack against Susan Rice is over. Just a little while ago Ambassador Rice met with Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and Kelly Ayotte.
This was their response afterward:Three Republican senators who met Tuesday with U.N.
Ambassador Susan Rice say they are more troubled now over her initial explanations about the deadly Sept. 11 raid in Libya.
Let's face it these people are still butt hurt that Obama won the election, and THEIR candidate and policies were rejected. The only hope they have left, considering how squeaky clean Obama has been during his first term, is to manufacture some distracting scandal they can use to turn the public's attention away from their own failures and inability to compromise for the benefit of the American people.
Personally I believe that the ONLY way you would still consider this Benghazi thing to be a scandal is that all of your information comes solely from Fox News and Right Wing radio.

Is it possible that Bristol Palin is not yet finished embarrassing herself and her family on television?
I have no idea if this is accurate, and there are some who doubt that it is:
It’s roughly seven weeks until the first rehearsals, assuming the September 24 start date rumor is for real. I would have to go back and look, but I don’t think we got legit-sounding rumors until 3 weeks or so before rehearsals the last couple seasons.
So, as I told my friends on Twitter, it is much too early for legitimate cast leaks coming out of DWTS. Of course, that said, this isn’t a normal season, is it? While I’m still inclined to think Ted’s got it wrong, you do have to admit that some things may not follow normal patterns this season. So….real or not real? I think that Bristol would do it in a heart beat. Despite her claims of missing her beloved Alaska and acting oh so superior to all those low class Hollywood types, she’s hardly been shunning the spotlight, what with her lawsuit causing reality show and all. So sure, Bristol would do it. But have they actually signed her or did they just talk to her? I would bet the latter – it’s all stars, they are probably talking to everyone. But I think they will wait to sign the tops of their list before going for people like Bristol. After all, the Palin stock has dropped rather precipitously since she was last on the show. I don’t think she’s a big “get” any longer.
So yes we understand that, just like her mother, Bristol is a an emotionally vacuous fame whore, but seriously WHY would ABC even consider letting this no talent moron back on TV after her last two shame filled appearances?
Is it just to mock her? Because, even though I am usually down with that, at this point isn't it time to turn our backs and simply let the Palin family slip into obscurity with as little attention as possible?

Mitt Romney is jealous of President Obama's celebrity friends, like George Clooney, so he comes up with a celebrity of his own, Donald Trump. You're doing it wrong!
I know that picture looks like a parody from the Onion, but I swear that it is exactly the picture that you will find by clicking MittRomney.com.
There you will be provided the following offer:
Donate today and you are eligible for a chance to win:
• Airport transportation in the Trump vehicle.
• Stay at the Trump International Hotel & Tower New York.
• Tour of Trump Tower.
• Dine with Donald Trump and Mitt Romney.
I know right?
How could anybody pass this up?
Just think, by donating to this Mormon millionaire's campaign fund you could win the opportunity to fly coach to New York city, where a gaudy gold encrusted Trump golf cart will pick you up at the airport, transport you to the most pretentious piece of real estate on the planet, so you can have your face rubbed in an ostentatious display of wealth accumulated by one of the most arrogant assholes in history. After which you can sit down to a meal with a man who makes watching paint dry seem exciting and a man with orange skin and the scariest hair on the planet.
Seriously how is this offer even remotely as compelling as what Clooney provided Obama?
George Clooney's fund-raiser for President Obama on Thursday night was a Hollywood hit, with the event delivering a whopping -- and record-breaking-- $15 million into the commander-in-chief's campaign coffers.
About 150 A-Listers forked over $40,000 a piece to attend the dinner at Clooney's Los Angeles mansion, including singer Barbra Stresiand, actors Robert Downey Jr., Tobey Maguire, Eddie Murphy, Billy Crystal, Salma Hayek and Jack Black, and designer Diane Von Furstenberg.
Yeah that's comparable!

The sneak preview of "Life's a Tripp," or as we refer to it in Alaska, "America's Least Wanted."
Oh this looks craptastic!
Apparently they simply cobbled together all of the unusable footage from every failed attempt to package a watchable show that they had, threw it at an editor and told them to make something reasonably coherent in order to get that Wasilla banshee off of their backs.
I noticed that there is no sign of Gino as previously reported, there is constant whining about the fame that she so actively seeking, that her body and face change so much during the footage that it is hard to remember that this is the same girl, and that the sneak peek starts off with the only reason anybody might watch this wasted use of TV airtime, her mother.
I also noted that they edited the hell out of that confrontation in the Saddle Ranch to make her seem much more reasonable. I wonder if they removed her homosexual remarks?
My impression is that this is marketed toward the man hating single moms, who want to have their own poor parenting techniques reinforced by a demi-celebrity. (I mean who teaches their toddler to stick his tongue out at people like that?)

Picture of President Obama terrified over debate challenge from Sarah Palin.
Oh yeah, I am going to have a LOT of fun with this picture.
The idea of Palin debating Obama actually did make ME laugh so hard that I was wiping tears away as I read her Facebook challenge the other day.
If ever anybody had ANY doubt that she was suffering from a mental illness, THAT should have put those doubts to rest.

Palin teases the paint chip eaters yet again.
Here is the video excerpt from Palin's appearance on Fox Business yesterday where she pulled out the political stripper pole and once again mounted it in order to tease the simpletons into believing she might actually reenter the race.
In this video you can see that the question of whether there was still time for her to jump back into the race was actually posed by Eric "How did I get stuck Greta's castoffs?" Bolling.
Her response: "You know it's NOT too late for...folks to jump in. And I dunno, you know it..it..it who knows what will happen in the future."
I think mostly out of force of habit Palin simply cannot let one of these chances to titillate the paint chip eaters go by without flashing her metaphorical cootchie at them in the hopes they will throw more loose change her way.
However even though you can see how excited Palin appears to be asked this question again (Her eyes light up and her hands start flailing), it seems she then suddenly remembers that she is a political has been, and immediately changes the subject to talk about working with Bolling on a debate.
Could ANY of you actually picture what a debate moderated by Palin would look like?
"What is your favorite way to prepare moose meat?"
"Hey Michele have YOU ever combined Red Bull with diet pills? It's awesome! I thought maybe that was how you got your eyes to do that."
"I like you Newt. Compared to the skeletons you have in your closet I seem almost angelic!"
I am also beginning to think that Palin is no longer able to choose which wig she wants to wear, so she just says "All of 'em, any of 'em," which would explain that giant helmet of hair that she is hiding under in this interview. (I think the Muslim scarf is there to hide the chin strap.)
Of course, as odd as that looks, it won't bother her supporters one little bit, after all you know what they say, "The higher the hair, the closer to God."
That looks like it might be just about high enough to tickle God's testicles.
(Here is a question for you theologians: Does God HAVE testicles?)

Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann refuse to humiliate themselves by appearing on Trump's "Debate-apalooza."
Courtesy of ABC News:
Another one bites the dust.
Michele Bachmann has officially said “no” to the Donald Trump-moderated Newsmax debate scheduled for later this month.
“We have confirmed that we are not participating,” Bachmann spokeswoman Alice Stewart told ABC News on Thursday.
Bachmann has been especially aggressive in her courting of the real estate and reality television mogul, paying several personal visits to Trump Tower over the past few months in search of an endorsement.
So, this leaves just two candidates — Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum — who plan to show up at the Dec. 27 event in Des Moines.
Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, Rick Perry, Ron Paul have all declined to attend.
Perry became the latest to decline Trump’s invitation on Thursday.
Donald Trump, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich? That is not a debate, that is the least sexy menage-a-trois in history!
Essentially this is going to be a HUGE embarrassment to Donald Trump, as well as both Gingrich and Santorum for lowering themselves to the level of a political phony, and opportunist like Trump.
All any of us need to know about this so-called debate, is that it was too crazy for Michele Bachmann, too stupid for Rick Perry, but just right to earn an endorsement from Sarah Palin.

The President gave a real barn burner of a speech yesterday which impressed everybody! Okay well not EVERYBODY.
As I am sure many of you already know President Obama hit a home run in at Osawatomie High School, in Kansas yesterday talking about Republican obstructionism and calling them out for putting politics ahead of progress.
Most of the political pundits were more than just a little impressed.
However it was not the content of the speech, the calling out of the Republicans, nor the crowd response that caught the attention of the Sarah Palin supporters.
It was this:
So in a 55 minute speech, that covered a number of topics, invoked the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt as well as the OWS movement, and called on Americans to work together across party lines, to help this country live up to its potential, ALL the Sarah Palin paint chip eaters could focus on is a moment of confusion at the very beginning of the speech?
Really?
Could you imagine if they had EVER held the Grizzled Mama up to such a high standard? Well let's face it, if they had they would never even have considered BECOMING Sarah Palin supporters, now would they?
