California Superior judge tosses out High School exit exam. California rocks!

A California judge struck down the state's controversial high school exit exam Friday, potentially clearing the way for thousands of seniors who have failed the test to graduate with their class next month.

I think this exam is completely unnecessary and causes a lot of undue stress for these kids. If they get the credits needed to graduate they should be allowed to graduate.

Just being able to pass this test before leaving school is not an indication that you learned more then a teen who did not pass this test, nor does it mean that you will necessarily be any more capable in college or the workforce. But what it does is to take a child's focus off of getting his credits and his grade point average up, and keeps the teenager thinking only of getting past the exit exams. It serves as a distraction from, and not an enhancement to, their education.
