Patrick Fitzgerald obtains Cheney's handwritten notes concerning outing Valerie Plame. Do you think they will let Dick and Karl be cellmates?

The role of Vice President Dick Cheney in the criminal case stemming from the outing of White House critic Joseph Wilson's CIA wife is likely to get fresh attention as a result of newly disclosed notes showing that Cheney personally asked whether Wilson had been sent by his wife on a "junket" to Africa.

Cheney's notes, written on the margins of a July 6, 2003 New York Times op-ed column by former ambassador Joseph Wilson, were included as part of a filing Friday night by prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the perjury and obstruction case against ex-Cheney chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

In the margins of the op-ed, Cheney jotted out a series of questions that seemed to challenge many of Wilson's assertions as well as the legitimacy of his CIA sponsored trip to Africa: "Have they done this sort of thing before? Send an Amb. [sic] to answer a question? Do we ordinarily send people out pro bono to work for us? Or did his wife send him on a junket?"

Sooo Dick knew that Wilson's wife was a CIA operative how soon after the article came out? And why did he want to know what his wife did for a living? The only reason to investigate the wife is to discredit the husband. And how many man hours were used to do this investigation? Was the CIA forced to investigate itself? This powerful organization was used to perform a character assassination. All of this at the bidding of the Vice President, and quite possibly the President, of the United States.

And the thing that keeps getting ignored in this whole thing is that Wilson was right! He went to Niger and came back with the truth! They destroyed his wife's career to protect the lie! By a show of hands how many of you believe that the administration did not know that the Hussein-Niger story was a lie. See how much smarter you are then the average American?

The other part that really pisses me off is that the administration used the Freedom of the Press to hide behind while they destroyed their political enemy. So when it serves their needs they support the Freedom of the Press, but when it interferes with their illegal activities they attack the press and atttempt to suppress it.

Hypocritical bastards!
