The AP calls Sarah Palin out on her lies about Barack Obama.

John McCain and Sarah Palin criticized Democrat Barack Obama over the amount of money he has requested for his home state of Illinois, even though Alaska under Palin's leadership has asked Washington for 10 times more money per citizen for pet projects.

"Just the other day our opponent brought up earmarks — and frankly I was surprised that he would even raise the subject at all," Palin said. "I thought he wouldn't want to go there."

Obama hasn't asked for any earmarks this year. Last year, he asked for $311 million worth, about $25 for every Illinois resident. Alaska asked this year for earmarks totaling $198 million, about $295 for every Alaska citizen.

It is painfully clear that this McCain /Palin ticket is going to run using the same attack philosophy that Bush/Cheney used to smear John McCain in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004.

John McCain has learned his lessons well; lie big, lie often, and never admit you are wrong.

And he reinforces this message by picking a woman who seems unable to tell the truth in any circumstance. She has lied about her reason for firing Walt Moneghan, she lied about her selling of the plane on e-bay, she lied about her support of the "bridge to nowhere", and as most Alaskans know she lied about the parentage of her youngest child.

What a great ticket the Republicans assembled to run against a man who is the very symbol of hope.

  1. Imagine that, Gryphen. I deleted the AP module news module off of my homepage a few weeks ago after reading stories analyzing their pro-Republican bias. This was unexpected.

Palin is a liar. I can understand why you don't want her back in AK.

  2. I am glad that someone in the media decided to grow a spine and challenge Sarah Palin on her regurgitation of McCain lies.

From the time McCain announced her as his VP choice, she has played her role as attack dog with eager relish and played fast and loose with facts about Obama's policies as well as his history of being a community organizer.

What is even more ridiculous is the fact that the Republicans label any questioning or criticism of her as "sexist." No, the sexist thing is not holding her accountable for her words and actions, especially when she is campaigning to be half of the most powerful team in this country.
