Today when somebody wants to insult a politician they compare them to George Bush. To insult George Bush who do you compare him to? Sarah Palin!

Lawrence Wilkerson, top aide and later chief of staff to former Secretary of State Colin Powell, said that as a new president, Bush was like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee whom critics said lacked knowledge about foreign affairs. When Bush first came into office, he was surrounded by experienced advisers like Vice President Dick Cheney and Powell, who Wilkerson said ended up playing damage control for the president.

"It allowed everybody to believe that this Sarah Palin-like president — because, let's face it, that's what he was — was going to be protected by this national-security elite, tested in the cauldrons of fire," Wilkerson said, adding that he considered Cheney probably the "most astute, bureaucratic entrepreneur" he'd ever met.

I have received some comments lately asking why I still keep talking about Sarah Palin.

"She is yesterday's news". "Nobody cares about her anymore", "Aren't there more important things for you to focus on?".

Most of these comments come from people who DO NOT LIVE IN ALASKA.

You see though I want desperately to move on to other scandals, and other stories, I cannot.

Sarah Palin is still my Governor!

She is still making policy, deciding where our money is to be spent, and representing my state to the rest of the world. And she is still planning to run in 2012, don't think for a moment she is not.

When George Bush ran for President in 2000, he presented himself as moral, ethical, and bi-partisan. Would anybody describe George Bush in those terms today? Of course not!

Sarah Palin is also presenting herself as honest, ethical, and transparent. Do people still believe that ? Yes, they do. Unless of course Alaskans can reveal the truth before she fools the nation the same way that George Bush did in 2000.

Sarah Palin, is essentially George Bush with boobs. She is an empty vessel that can be shaped to fit any ideal the GOP wants her to fit. That is what makes her so dangerous.

On her own Palin is an uncultured, unsophisticated, embarrassment. But after the Republican machine has had a chance to tweak and shape her she may be able to fool enough people some day to actually become a Senator, or heaven help us, the President.

It is my duty, as an Alaskan and an American, to do everything I can to keep that from happening.

I agree. Alaska bloggers have to keep putting the word out. She is obviously not going away quietly. When 2012 nears people outside Alaska will start looking for what she has done. People need to see that while people in the Bush are moving in together because they can't afford to heat their own house, she is charging the state to live in her own house in Wasilla. You almost got it right when you said she was Bush with boobs. I think she is more like Bush without a Dick!

  2. Oh, I thought she was Dick without a Bush...

Keep up the good work Gryphen. That's why I keep reading and writing too, to stay up on what is happening with everything. Can't let the guard down, because I truly believe she is just laying low to run again. Either for senate or for re-election next year.

It's up to you in the north if she does that, it's up to all of us in 2012 when she makes that run, but then we will have all the repubs help, cause I think they will attack her...I call it the Racists against the Mormans...lol Palin as the Racist against Romney... can't you see that happening???

It sounds delicious. The Repubs have become the gift that keeps on giving. Between Chip Saltzman and his exposure as an unadulterated racist, Michelle Bachman congresswomen from Minnesota and Sarah queen ignoramous we should be able to retain the 53% long enough to get some decent public policy going in the right direction. She's the perfect poster girl of a bankrupt ideology.

No offense, but I glad Alaska gets to keep her for another 4 years.

  5. Definitely, don't let up on her! Sarah shares with Bush his belief that he is ordained by God to do His will, yet she is far more ignorant and unaware than he ever was--at least he went to Harvard and Yale (even if he was drunk most of the time) and grew up in a political family. She's uneducated and clueless, and too stupid to even realize it. She's also something Bush never was, and that's mean and vicious and corrupt.

Keep the scrutiny on her, and tell the world what she's up to!

Perfect comparison. No misunderstanding with that likeness.

Agreed...I had commented right after the election, that IF Sarah was smart she would fly under the radar for the next year or two and get in some book learnin' she is sorely lacking. Apparently she isn't so smart...

I don't think a week has gone by since the election that she hasn't been in the national news. Her interviews, speeches, church fire, and various other scandals have graced us with more Sarah Palin than we can handle in the lower 48, so I can only imagine how bad it is for Alaskans.

You should not let up on her for a minute. After Bush, she is the LAST person this country needs in any kind of national office. Even Pat Buchanan agreed that she is not a viable candidate for 2012 yesterday on MSNBC, and her was her biggest fan.

  8. I am about as far from Alaska as I can be, and still remain in the states. The thought of her possibly being elected to the Senate or someday the White House is the stuff of nightmares!

Thank you for keeping on her trail!
