Cartoonist Daryl Cagle is angling for his own Van Flein letter.

Maybe that fish can get Sarah's ring back for her.

Before "splitsville" went viral, thanks to Meg Stapleton and ThomasVon Flein, it was said Palin was closeted with lawyers to formulate a plan to go after bloggers?

It is a fact that divorce stories about celebrities, including real politicians, are a dime a dozen and no one makes waves with them. Why does Palin want to bring negative attention to her life, as she knows a rapid response to something she found laughable would do?

Now a former governor has outed an anonymous blogger days after quitting because she didn't need the title to progress for Alaska. This whole thing is a head spinner.

I've tried to read the co-blog team of Stacy McCain and Dan Riehl. I wish they could calm down. If you want a text book example of "unhinged' try that crap hole. Juju, I do appreciate your demeanor here.

Stacy McCain wrote a book with Lynn Vincent, who is Palin's ghost writer for her religious bio. Stacy says he talked to Palin and got a sound bite quote. Stacy and Riehl are also in touch with Von Flein, who was Todd Palin's lawyer when Todd was in contempt of court. Von Flein calls it standard procedure to email a threat and instead of saying place of employment, his client wanted him to be more precise. It is incomprehensible they would in anyway bring young children into this in any way. I'm grateful they were exposed.

Stacy's claim to fame is because he is a part of the Moon-bat empire of Rev Moon, Washington Times? Where did Riehl come from? Why do they write like they are doing a parody if they want people other then moon-bats to take them serious? They seem to think 5 yr olds search the internet to read adult blogs? Where are those parents? What a stretch all that was. Not sure I get them except they are intentionally trying to help Palin to get a blogger fired. They are intentionally stirring up other moon-bats to take actions. Are they now hacking into sites? It can't be legal to cyber stalk and call up an army of any kind of batty people. It all leads back to Sarah Palin.

Just trying to understand the madness. It is no coincidence that Palin-Flein-McCain-Vincent-Riehl are attached and working together.
Palin must have lied to all her supporters about being a PC twitterer when she was free (since July 26), not a word by August 4. Where is the countdown clock? I know the enablers have excuses and love the abuses from a big liar like Palin. Well, it is all about the money. Trust Levi on that one.

    Funny cartoon.

  18. Gryphen, I am so depressed. I just (don't ask me why) surfed around and found some slanderous stuff from the wing nuts on "Texas for Sarah Palin" (right- two secessionist groups!) about you. I can hardly believe that there are people who buy into her so much, and buy into everything the right is doing. I am petrified of Obama not being able to get health reform done. If he can't no one can. And these ridiculous fake protests at democratic rallies of state law makers. Ugh. The country is going to hell in a hand basket. I'm having a bad night. Sorry guys.

I am sorry, I could not listen. I suspect this "VICIOUS ATTACK" is Gryphen saying that sources told him the Palins are splitsville.
WTF? VICIOUS ATTACK? Unless there was an accident with a REAL pitbull today, the "victim" meme goes on. Yeah, soooo Presidential, boo hoo hoo little lady ATTACKED - Our warrior soldiers need to defend her. 22. Hey guys - forgive me please but I have to go Off Topic here.

I assume you are all watching the tea baggers disrupt all the TownHall meetings? First of all, look at these people - look carefully and tell me if they even have health insurance and please decide rationally if you want these people speaking for you.

Because let me tell you what is going to happen - people with "gold plated" health care and access will CONTINUE to have that health care. The screamers will be about $10 richer and have gotten a free trip to Hoboken.

Going out on a huge limb here.... we have great health care and we don't even need it because we have access to hubs hospital and the entire group. In a pinch, I can see a physician the same day I need to - and frequently do not receive a bill (professional courtesy for families).

If you really truly believe the hooligans who are shouting down health care debate care about you or our family, stop and think about what they are doing to YOU. Even people with legitimate questions are not allowed to speak.

Please everyone - debate must be allowed. This is YOUR life and YOUR health care. Why are you allowing "bus people" to shriek at your representative?

This is seriously of importance and everyone needs to get out there and shut these morons down.

Sorry to go off topic - but if they are allowed to succeed, YOU will all be the losers and it is not fair. All Americans should have the same access and availability. The losers will be the people who let the screamers shut the debate down.

Gryphen - I apologize but I care passionately about this issue.

  24. Gryphen, Basheert, I am very angry over the town hall meeting protesters - the bus people. It is now my understanding from what I am reading that these "protesters" are actually hired by lobbyist groups - no doubt from the insurance companies - to go and disrupt these meetings, so that no one is able to speak. I feel like Obama, or his spokesperson (the nice southern guy) or SOMEONE high up needs to expose these people, and call for an end to the disruption of the democratic process. Who to turn to?

I'm with Ivers, an incurable google-junkie. It's amazing what's out there if you just keep looking. Trying to read the postings of McCain and Riehl is a descent into the lower levels of politcal rhetoric, nasty language, petty name calling, I just could read more than a paragrah or two and I was done. But, I did also wonder, like Ivers, who writes this stuff?

According to a lengthy biography at Wikipedia, Robert Stacy McCain and his wife, Lou Ann live in Maryland and have 6 children. Her name often appears in her church bulletin, collecting donations for a yard sale, for example, and they print her phone number. So, the McCains are in the phone book.

Dan Riehl is much more of an inigma. If you want to read a biography of him, http://tinyurl.com/mr5sqy at Politics Online. He lives in New Jersey, and has often blogged about New Jersey politics.

The saddest story that popped up in Google about Dan Riehl is contained in an interview he gave that dates back to 2006, http://tinyurl.com/n9ylnw The topic is homophobia, and the paragraph that caught my eye was:

"Robert Leroy Riehl Born: 05 Jan 1048 Died: 21 June 2004 (Dan writes or speaks): That was an older brother of mine, John. He's dead, and yes, he was Gay. You want to know how he died? He died alone, probably of aids for all I know and probably in a San Francisco flop house living on the government's dime. I say probably because it was the last address I ever had for him from letters exchanged, not having seen the boy/man since I was about 15." The writer even mentions the fact that Riehl capitalizes the word "gay."

The sad part is that when I googled Dan's older brother, one of the first hits in Google was the listing in Ancestry.com, stating that Robert's death certificate was issued in Napa, CA, not San Francisco. There are people in my family who no longer speak to me, so this estrangement of brothers resonates with me in a sad way.

The other element of sadness is this. McCain and Riehl revealed far too much information about Gryphen. They made it personal, and following the Palin-instigate-the-mob tactics, they incited the same inflamatory comments from their readers. It's the same garbage that we see interupting Health Care Information meetings. It's the same nasty, unthinking rhetoric of the "Birthers." I feel a little guilty sinking to their level, but writing this is in the interest of trying to understand what kind of people are relentlessly attacking Gryphen.

Someone else wondered what the psychology is that makes these people so mad about a divorce-rumor. There was no outrage over suggestions that Sarah might not have give birth to Trig. There was no outrage over the ethics violations she committed (or was charged with committing) while governor. No outrage over the National Enquirer's story about Sarah's alleged affair.
When I started looking into these people, I had no idea how many websites were dedicated to the spreading of pure hatred. It's scary out there! Keep up the good work, Gryphen.

Ivers and Anon, I did a lot of research on McCain and Riehl. I live in the metro DC area. I'm not sure if your supposed to give your location in blogging, but I am so upset about these guys and their comments. There is some information in one of the other blogs that I've seen that give these guys a lot criticism about their prejudice against gays and lesbians. As news journalists, they probably like to keep a low profile on this topic, but their attitudes seep out.

McCain is known to be totally against gay marriage and the inference is that he feels stronger aboutgays in general. My take on some of what he says is that a man Gryphens age should be taken in marriage or something.

His comment about wife and six children left me cold. Our MD community here is generally very liberal and open, although there are some "redneck" pockets. I imagine him as this overly chauvinistic type. I could be wrong, but his tone, attitude and statements are pretty outrageous. If he outed a local here, he would have someone at his door. But I think he feels that AK is far enough away and nothing can be done.

But heck, those far right folks throw slings, arrows, sticks and stones all the time. They think the louder they holler, the bigger and better they are.

I could never imagine either one of them teaching any children in a classroom. If they ranted like that around here, the police would escort them out the door or arrest them.

BTW, I found SP facebook page. It's still there.

Also, I found some comments about the photoshopped pictures of Trig on Wonkette. Some one tied these nutty picture to very low based gay humor.

Because Gryphen is Snarky in his humor and comments about Palin, they put him in the same bracket.

Interesting comments about Wonkette. When I saw the photos on Wonkette, I attributed them to younger college students, always bored and always gaming. Never though of the other tie in.

But this may also be a common attitude held by the conservatives who follow Frued and his mother problem fixations. This gives a reason to call gays mentally ill. Frued has been disproven on many of his theories, but many don't want to let go. If it fits their thinking they hang on to is instead of trying to change.

Sorry to get heavy, but I believe some of this thinking was on one of the sites and talked about McCain and his religious conversative beliefs.

I'm glad I don't go there. One of my old bosses/colleagues was one of the psychiatrists who got homosexuality thrown out of the DSM years ago. He was not gay, and felt this was a major coup for his group.

Time to say goodnight and sweet dreams.

Some "people" (important ones) are collecting far more information then you might ever imagine about McCain and Diehl. A) they have gone too far-calling someone a pedophile and inciting hatred and violent action are NOT the same as Gryphen repeating what people have told him. B) don't forget the Homeland security report that right wing extremism is the worst threat to Americas stability.it is a top priority now. So save their comments and tweets that specifically ask people to do something hateful, make copies and send them to the the right place/people (authorities) C) these guys forget that their associatons (and income sources?) can be easily verified. They have an incentive for getting Gryphen and others to shut up.
Gryphen has zero financial incentive. They say there is one but there isn't therefore there is no proof. D) Palin's connection to them can also be proven.

McCain and Diehl think they are smart but they aren't. Watch them make one mistake after another. Document and report it not to their jobs but to those who care about right wing extremism-ya know who?? Sarah is a BIG UGLY BULLY who thinks she has the power to stop people from talking about her. This is another flagrant example of how she works. It's time to stand up to her and say stop lying!! It's all about money you know and someone protecting their investment. 47. APOC is giving Palin until Aug. 17 to make public “information related to the dollar amount of the discounts from Arctic Cat,” as well as any gifts received in 2008 that she has not reported, said Holly Hill, the agency’s director. Hill found that the state law Palin cited in arguing for an exemption from the Arctic Cat disclosure “only protects information submitted under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act, and does not apply in this matter.”

the Alaska Public Offices Commission has refused Palin’s request to keep secret the discounts that come from her husband’s Arctic Cat sponsorship. APOC also said Palin needs to disclose all the gifts she received last year, rejecting her interpretation that she doesn’t need to until after she gets around to actually opening the gifts.

Palin has told APOC “there are boxes of unopened mail at this point, even mail that was delivered in 2008.”

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous7:11 AM

Information about Arctic Cat and Undisclosed Unopened Gifts needs to be reported to the IRS. She has to declare this stuff as income. Unlike your powerless, toothless Alaska Commission, the IRS does not like to be stalled, stiffed or lied to. Any benefits received in 2008 should have been on the tax form filed in April 2009. Let the Feds get her. (Maybe she needed to "retire" so she could get all her complaints in order). I think that the IRS offers a finders fee, up to 10%, for someone who can turn in the tax-cheat and prove it.

  49. Chill everyone - a couple of things.

If you trust Gryphen, then you have to believe he has the plan to hold tight until the truth comes out and confirms his story.

RE: APOC and the IRS. That is where the power lies - because the IRS does not care WHO $P is, they just want to make certain that the Palins have paid their taxes and if not, the fines are HUGE (I can swear to that). You can't bribe them- and you can't make them go away. Unfortunately we also won't know if an investigation is taking place.

IF she could make a nickle a body, they'd be piled up like cord wood. Let's get this straight - this is high school idol worship. Remember The Beatles (of course THEY had talent)!!! High school idol worship - immature right. But when you are 15 you actually KNOW that the Beatles do not KNOW you in reality.

RE: Newsmax - big deal. I blast them into my spam- they are NOT a news organization. They are opposing Media Matters. They are a Moonie organization - ignore what they say.

Please - friends - don't go down the RabbitHole? This will pass - and getting drawn into a screaming match is not going to help.

Hang tough Gryphen - not sure what is going on but I'm hoping the IRS will act on the unreported income if it's there. As an Alaskan, you or an alaskan reader can file an incident report with the local office in Anchorage and it WILL be confidential (that's how they operate). Remember, Al Capone finally went to jail for tax fraud.

  51. Just seen on MSNBC: Tamyrn Hall and David Shuster had the Politico journalist on to whom $P gave her "brief telephone interview" last night.

Turns out Palin's staff called the reporter at 10:45 pm Eastern time, waking him up to ask if he wanted to interview Palin on the condition he would be allowed to ask just two questions.

Palin was calling from ritzy Michael's restaurant in Manhattan. Reporter said yes to the two question limit, and that's when Palin came on the line and said she was in New York talking to her publisher, and that she and Toad are busy planning the rest of their lives together.

So, $P hungry for publicity much? I'll bet she is missing that tweeting, but had to settle for two questions to Politico that said essentially nothing. The new plan must be to keep up the mystique. Poor little bots not getting the personal tweets they were hoping for...
