Sarah Palin News Roundup. Updated.

So on this Friday let's just go ahead a and dive into the multiple Sarah Palin stories bouncing around the blogoshpere right now.

First up we have the news that Palin's approval ratings are at an all time low, having now settled at a not very impressive 40%, according to the most recent Gallup Poll.

I have to admit that I am still pretty stunned that her approval rating is still this high. Enjoy it while you can Sarah.

This is not the best news for Sarah however when it comes to hopes of making that fortune off of sales of her book "Going Rogue". Now that Wal-Mart is cutting prices of popular books to around $10 to compete more effectively with Amazon, Palin now needs as many crazed followers as possible to actually purchase the book.

Sarah you might want to halt construction on that Airplane hangar/Todd man-cave/Bristol blackmail payoff you currently have being constructed on your property. You know just until our secret Muslim, terrorist loving, President can repair the damage done to our economy for the last eight years by YOUR party.

It also looks like bat-shit crazy Michele Bachman is rapidly replacing Palin as the Republican party's hard-on inducing pin-up girl. Does it call into question my sexuality if both of these women make me throw up in my mouth a little?

But hey, on the "good news" front somebody has finally become so desperate that they are willing to have Sarah Palin come to their state and stump for their re-election. Yep Rick "Secessionist and proud of it" Perry has asked our own Alaskan Albatross to come down and help him fight against fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison for his party's nomination.

This is good news for Sarah after she was publicly humiliated by Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill McDonnell, after he said "Thanks, but no thanks" to having Sarah give him her still untested "Palin bump".

Will she show up in Texas? Hell I don't know, but it sounds like the start of a very interesting betting pool.

Update: Palin takes credit for ghostwriter's work in National Review about need for more drilling. Apparently electric cars will simply not work in Alaska. Damn, and I was all set to buy me one.

Palin campaigning for Perry? Maybe the slogan can be "Kill, Baby, Kill" per Perry's situation with the Texas execution review board? Should be interesting.

The GOP has been overtaken by Crazy "Christian" Ex-Beauty Queens. As a progressive, I can only wonder why the far right-fringe faction of the GOP is so in need of political Viagra. It sure make them look impotent.

  3. Gryphen, there is onely one n in Hutchison. Keep an eye on the coverup of the execution of an innocent man story. Governor Hair is up to his ears in that one, and I, for one, hope the story has legs, for many reasons!

Don't you mean Rick "I Executed an Innocent Man and Am Now Trying Really Hard to Cover It Up" Perry?

This could be Kay's chance to get back at Sarah. A lot of people thought that if McCain wanted a woman, he should've gone for Hutchison. Anyway, I remember how Perry treated Palin at the Repub Governors conference last November. If she campaigns for him, she is nothing but an attention monger. Oh, wait.... Texas, here she comes!

  6. Thing about Perry oking Palin to campaign for him -- sounds like she's campaigning for him vs KBH, another Republican. Which is logical, since in a GOP primary she can can out-crazy the opponent and actually expect to gain votes, whereas in a general election, out-crazying the opponent will *lose* votes.

    Weird math:
    1) 2R may be > 1D;
    2) 1R + Palin > 2R;
    3) 1R + Palin is always < 1D

Gotta worry: Obama is in Texas today. I fear for him. The right wing nuts are rabid down here. Just crazy.

Augh! No no no no no! I so need to get out of Texas. And I will be one of those crossing the lines to vote for Kay Bailey in th eprimary so hopefully she can get Gov Goodhair outta here for good. And my husband and i were two that thought yes, Hutchison would have been a far better - and less insulting - choice for McCain to make than Polly Poutypants

This is going to be rich.

    Boy is Perry desperate.

    She's desperate campaigning for Perry.
I read that she committed some time ago, for early next year.

Maybe they'll have to rush the book some more. They must be concerned that people may cancel before the book is shipped.

“Does it call into question my sexuality if both of these women make me throw up in my mouth a little?”

    Gryphen,

Relax. You’re not alone on this one. I can’t even look at Michele Bachmann without hearing the music (in my head) from the shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s original “Psycho.”

As for Sarah Palin’s ability to seduce ALL mortal men with just a *wink,* whenever I look at her powerfully built salmon jaw, and that funny “thing” she does with it all the time, it reminds me of a steel trap that could snap shut without notice on anything that’s near it. Get my meaning?...

It would be awfully hard (no pun intended) to get excited knowing that, without warning, or without reason, you could leave the party not having everything you came with still attached.

She'll be a no show. Perry must be desperate to even have considered her. Probably thinks it will be a distraction. I remember Perry stepping in front of Palin at the Repub conference. She was on pilot during the election...key phrase...palling around with terrorists.....lord have mercy she must have said it a thousand times. I hope her star is fading....goodbye grifter.

No no no no no. You see, I'm in Austin. If that witch comes to my city again, I just might have to hurl on her shoes. We don't want her, either!!

  16. If SP goes out stumping, will she take questions from the populace? Or, from the press? No, I can't see it. She'll still be hiding under her rock and ghostwriters who post for her on Facebook.
Besides, won't there will be an explosive scandal before she has a chance to go to Texas?

  18. I don't know whether to cheer or not, because I know some who follow Perry in TX are crazy ... but you know, he may have just stamped his exit papers if she does show. And yes, this does look like he is desperate. I think that if the story of him condemning a possibly innocent man had not come to light, he wouldn't have asked her. Now he is up against it. My daughter and her friends live in Austin too. They are so opposed to Perry! In fact, if he were to have TX secede from the Union, Austin would probably have to secede then from Texas! Liberal, music-loving, gay-loving Austin rocks. This will be interesting to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am fairly certain that Perry will NOT, under ANY circumstances, allow her to answer questions - too risky. He will allow her to prance, wink, and "excite" the redneck base - might work, I have NO faith in the teabaggers in TX.

I think Palin gets paid for these campaign appearances - just like paid speech.

It's always about the money with $P.

  22. "She will be coming here to campaign sometime after the first of the year once she is done with her book tour," said Perry spokesman Mark Miner.

Palin's spokesman Meg Stapleton did not respond to inquiries seeking to confirm the visit.

What's going on with Levi's book. He was supposed to be writing one wasn't he? There are way too many underachievers in this group. Levi taking his clothes off for money, Sarah practically panhandling for money. Todd joining the ranks of the unemployed. Doesn't anyone in that household work? Have any of the kids considered higher education as a way out of Wasilla. I just bet the money from the Alaska Trust Fund gets funneled into Stand Up For Our Nation. I'm thinking of starting a fund for myself. I haven't come up with a ridiculous enough name yet, but it will be patriotic & it will be for me.

Warning! Warning! Warning! Never, never underestimate Stupid! She is brainless, she is a Quitter, she has only been seen in public twice since she quit. SHE STILL HAS A 40% APPROVAL RATING. Americans need to be very concerned.

it will be hilarious if perry is the only candidate in the country who has her help his campaign, and then he ends up losing. oh, that would be RICH! she will be seen as the kiss of death and no one will ever ask for her "campaign assistance" again. exactly what her ego needs.

  27. Anonymous2:16 PM

Great post, again, Gryphen! I saw those figures on MSNBC, too. I was surprised, so high. I watched an interview with a guy on MSNBC the other day, he was from the South. He was saying that she would make a great president using that 80% approval rating by her constituents during the campaign. I have seen nothing in her record that would make her worthy of such admiration. Folks were dying and folks were hungry during her term; how could that happen in such a rich land, State of Alaska?

As far as helping RPerry, I don't know if she'd show up. But they are birds of a feather, MBachmann, too. No doubt he would benefit, SP's a pro at reading hate speeches with flair at rallies; that's her niche.

  29. Gryphen...noooooo! McDonnell is not our governor yet, still just the Republican candidate for now, and Attorney General. McDonnell has been polling ahead of Creigh Deeds, the democratic candidate, and I fear for our commonwealth if McDonnell is elected. I know you keep up on politics, and I's sure you've read McDonnell's Regent (Pat Robertson U) University Masters Thesis. If not, go to bobmcdonnellblueprint.com. I can't imagine this was written in the 20th century, much less 20 years ago.

McDonnell claims to be Catholic, but he is about as close to being an evangelical fundamentalist as it gets...he has close to ties to Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell. He is more dangerous than Sarah Palin because he is actually intelligent (hence the reason he can actually read a poll, and knows Sarah is political poison). His campaign bus features a huge picture of him and his family on it, and many of his ads features all his kids earlier on in the campaign. He's tried reinventing himself as a moderate, and apparently had foolled many Virginians into believing him.

Guaranteed if Bob McD gets elected, the Republican party will try to be touting him as their next presidential candidate. He is known in some circles as Backwards Burka Bob.

Sarah didn't even make the 2010 calendar of Conservative Women. Beauty Queen Preejean was there, but not the aged beauty queen from Wasilla.

  33. Don't forget, Sarah Palin actually ENDORSED Rick Perry already! So, I was hoping Rick Perry would be the one politician coming up for re-election who'd actually ask for Sarah Palin to come stump for him.

With his death penalty innocent man scandal, and the strength of the Kay Bailey Hutchison campaign, this ought to tank Perry's career, hopefully permanently.

According to Rachel, RPerry camp has confirmed that SP will be campaigning for him.

  35. Sarah is hoping if she prays hard enough and all of those witches who are blocking her efforts are struck down she can run for president. Remember GWB got elected and then re-elected, that is just as crazy as SP getting elected.

  36. That salmon jaw comment is hysterical! And that thing she does with her mouth- where she smirks and flattens her lips into a tight staight line??That angry pucker could never sell lipstick. When she makes that face, which is often, she is ugly and scary.

Well, she WAS in 'labor' when she was in texas! Mabye Toddy MADE them hightail it out of there, and used the 'baby' as cover?

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Speaking of working and/or school-going Palins, I wonder if Bristol is still studying her butt off in college."

I've been wondering the same thing. After all, she had the last baby ten months ago (supposedly); she should have started the nursing program at some university- wasn't that her career choice? I remember thinking that she majored in partying in high school and probably didn't have the grades to get into a nursing program. Then we heard vaguely about her doing real estate, but she'd need to pass exams for that too, wouldn't she? I doubt if Bristol's gonna dig in and do anything with her life, career-wise.

Frankly, I don't think she has her high school diploma. I think her parents talked the school district into letting her walk the graduation as a social event- I was on a school board for years, and every year we'd have a handful of parents pleading with us to let their failed little darlings "walk the platform" and get the graduation folder sans diploma- because Grandma didn't know that Little Darling was a dumbass who partied for four years despite all attempts to connect with parents and get the kid back on track. I thought at the time, the Palin family has no use or respect for education.

Still waiting to hear Willow's pregnant. I have it on my 2010 "watch this space" list- a news story I expect to hear.

Anon 9:44, you are mistaken in assuming that there's any sexual hanky panky between Palin and Perry. Let's just say that Sarah isn't equipped in the way that Closet Rick likes.

  43. "Does it call into question my sexuality if both of these women make me throw up in my mouth a little?"

Not really. Bachmann's creepy, and if she keeps getting plastic surgery, Sarah will look like her soon enough.

I may be getting into TMI territory here (and hit me over the head with a pan if I start sounding like a Palinbot), but Sarah's looks are the ONLY thing she has going for her. For example, Bachmann always has this creepyfake smile plastered on her face; Palin's smile can simulate actual warmth! Most men and quite a few women fall for it, even though Sarah is a soulless, life-and-$$-sucking vampire.

In short Gryphen, there's nothing wrong with you, you're just not shallow!

Salmon Jaw! Love it. I guess it is a wait and see situation with "salmon jaw" campaigning for Perry. So much can happen between now and then. I mean they could both be looking at the world from behind bars by then. Ah yes, hope truly does spring eternal.

On another note, Megamouth has certainly been silent lately. What happened here? Remember when she commented, responded on e v e r y t h i n g Palin? Now, nothing. Oh, the suspense of it all!
