Alan Grayson is showing other Democrats how to take the fight to the Republicans. The only question is will they follow his example?

Now dammit, THAT is how you fight these bastards!

Alan Grayson is the man! I follow your blog all of the time. I love what you do. I've been reading this book called American Fascists and it really made me want to join in your mission.

The ad I would like to see is one where the anti-choicers are asked what their plan is for women if the 'no abortion under any circumstances' crowd get their wish and get abortion laws repealed.

I, for one, would like to hear specifics on that one.

I think the bottom line is that the anti-choice people (mostly men I've noticed) really want to punish women for having sex that is not under their control (and probably more to the point...not with them). It's not like they care about these babies once they are born. It is unquestionably a control issue...submit to me...yeah, right.

I live in Florida and I'm glad we actually have someone with intelligence to represent our state. We recieve a lot of negitive press for some of the stupid people we have down here, and we do have more than our fair share of idiots, but he puts us in a better light, at least for liberals and I hope he continues. I'm sure he will win his re-election and continue to speak factually and truthfully in front of Congress, like Franken. Politians like these two seem rare in todays political climate and I hope they're around for a long time.

"These trials likely would be the most high-profile prosecutions of U.S. war crimes to result from the nearly 9-year-old conflict in Afghanistan."

Oh yeah! That's a good reason to have a media black out on that story. As I understand there are dead bodies, innocent people and premeditated murder. Fine time for another media black out.

  10. anon 6:55 Quote from article in rawstory:

According to the New York Times, Benjamin K. Grimes, a senior counsel for the defense, was "inadvertently" sent images last week that show, among other things, "three dead Afghans with three different soldiers posing, holding up the decedent’s head. (Each photo was one Afghan, one soldier.)”

I myself think that a picture is worth a thousand words. Someone made sure that the defense lawyer took a good look at the deed these soldiers are accused of.

According to my husband who was drafted and spent 1 year in Viet Nam, that it all comes down to what a man is made of. Following military orders yes, but losing control of ones senses is on you.

To really take the fight to the TeaBaggers and the Right Wing GOP you would have to do what they do: misquote the opposition at every turn. (As in "death panels" etc). I hope we don't stoop to that.

For example, deliberate twisting going on at C4P today, misquoting Obama:

On the campaign trail in 2008,Governor Palin embraced the idea of being a "bitter clinger"--one who clings "bitterly" to guns and religion--a reference to a remark by then candidate Obama.

What he really said, which is far more compassionate and actually bi-partisan:

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," Obama said. "And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
