Palin's recent bizarre behavior has once again attracted the attention of Keith Olbermann. That is never a good thing for the Grizzled Mama.

I think Kofinis nailed it when he said, "She is gonna run--she can't help herself." And I hope he's right that it's a godsend for the Democrats. Regardless of the outcome on Tuesday, it's gonna be interesting to see how the next two years shape up and whether/how quickly and effectively the Republicans neutralize the threat she represents to their chances in 2012.

This entire thing, except for saying the diplomat was partly using satire (it was Ahmed's birthday, there is precedent for pardons, the State Dept is not interested in jeopardizing the hikers' lives with careless remarks), is SPOT ON. I love Keith so much.

The GOP gets everything it deserves for having created this monster Sarah Palin. They put a person like that two steps from the nuclear button and they think they can get away with it? No.... It makes me absolutely nauseous to say this, but even GW at least had experienced and intelligent people around him - evil people, perhaps, but still.

Eventually what goes around, comes around, and now Karl Rove has to deal with the mess he helped to make in the first place. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

I bet the narrative on Tuesday night will be about how much better the GOP could have done in this unpopular period for the Dems, if they didn't have this whacko Tea Party movement corrupting their general brand. Not saying they won't do well, but it's not a clearcut victory. And as my 82-year-old mothers says, "these completely unqualified people will find themselves on committees and needing to do the nuts and bolts of legislative work, and be totally overwhelmed!"

I also think there may be some merit to the idea that we need the GOP to have a chance to screw up royally, and publicly, in the next two years so we will have clear villains to run against in 2012. John Boehner makes the perfect foil to Obama in that sense.

What more can be said? Even Chris Mathews, who used to "talk her up" for her spunk, is beginning to see the light. She has been on the scene long enough to show her ugly side. Matthews talked about the hate and acting out that is getting worse and worse in her wake. He even related it to the activities that took place with the brown shirts in germany in the 30's before the take over of the government by the thugs. He blames her and other tea party leaders for not denouncing such violence.

How is it that SarahPac is running an ad on your site?

Is it some kind of a joke? Yikes! I hope you can get it taken off. Immediately!

As always, thank you for posting the clips from Keith's show.

We know Palin doesn't get irony, or sarcasm. and literary allusions are simply in another universe for her.
    However.
You'd think, since she makes her living at it, that she would recognize snark when she meets it.

I bet she can't do puns either.

My understanding is that the ads are provided by an ad service that supplies ads according to content in the blog post and the tags behind the blog itself. If Gryphen blogged about softball questions disguised as reporting, the ad service would scramble to find an ad for a sports complex.

However, the people who pay more for ad placement get placed more often. SarahPAC pays a lot for advertising (look at their filings). So every ad on a liberal blog is less money to hand over to puppets such as Miller or Angle or O'Donnell.

Furthermore, clicking on the ad is supposed to direct a few pennies from SarahPAC (or whatever) into the blog's account. If Ann Coulter or Sarah Palin end up paying a few bucks to support the liberal blogs, that is a Good Thing.

I can't view anything embedded on your site, only videos you leave in youtube format. Oh well.

In any case, I'll believe she's running when I see it with my own eyes. She stated on fluff tv that she'll run if no one else does. And she frankly didn't sound very excited, she sounded a little scared, if you ask me. Of course Romney and Gingrich and others will run, so according to her theory, she's in the clear.

I just saw O'Reilly on tv and he says she's not running, because as he pointed out, you can't run with 25 percent of the vote. He said she'd be unable to shave off many votes from moderates, because she's polarizing and everyone in America has already made up their mind about her, you either love her or hate her. Plus, he said, she's making too much money with cushy gigs set up by Fox. I mean, he outright said it, with no doubt or hesitation at all. And I completely agree.

Everything Sarah has done recently has helped Brand Palin, and all that DWTS stuff, and reality tv, and fluff mainstream media pieces, that's all for her, for her brand. Its purpose is to continue to improve her image and make her marketable. People are not going to buy things from someone they don't like, are bored with or has jumped the shark. So she continually has to try to improve her image so the gigs will be there. This "will I run" controversy is good, because EVERY controversy is good for the Palins. But she won't take it very far, and certainly not any farther than the GOP will allow her.

She is not independent, she is not rogue, she is mainstream and she is republican. Every move from here on out is stamped with approval from the grand old party.

The only wildcard here, the absolutely only one, is the fact that the odds are great that Obama will be reelected in 2012. So that may create a weird atmosphere in the GOP like it did last time, when they threw old man McCain to the wolves when they knew he'd lose. So under those conditions, they may let people run in the primaries a while to serve other purposes.

    @ 9:05:

Those google ads are generated by the keywords in the posts, so unfortunately we have to endure them. Gryphen, again unfortunately, has no control over them. Hope that helps. :))

Since Palin's appearance on the national scene in 2008, I can't think of any occasion when her behavior was anything but bizarre. From her wildly inaccurate comments on just about anything to her diva behavior and her endorsement of folks even nuttier than she is, she has been a walking train wreck. I have zero sympathy for Rove or any other Republicans because in their bid to win at any cost, they first elevated her in 2008 to a place from which she had the potential to be voted to national power.
In 2009 and 2010, abetted by Simple Sarah, they pushed this phony populist group, the Tea Partiers. The Tea Partiers they are pushing are so clueless and hateful it's embarassing. Maybe it's too much to hope for, but I hope the GOP ends up with egg on its collective face on Tuesday.

  13. Miller has dropped to third place behind Murkowski and McAdams? When did that happen?

    BTW love the "Wasilliness".

Hope O'Donnell, Angle and the others lose big time, also too.
