I don't usually watch Hardball anymore, but here Chris Matthews is speaking the gospel.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

This is why I started this blog back in 2004.  It was to talk about the Bush administration and the lies they told to trick this country into fighting these illegal wars.  I had hoped to someday see George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Don Rumsfeld charged as war criminals, and for me that dream is still alive.

Mathews has thrown down the gauntlet, do we have the guts to pick it up?

For my fellow Alaskans the e-mail address for Senator Begich is here, while Senator Murkowski's is here.

Don't we owe it to our fallen warriors to get to the bottom of the lies that sent them to their premature deaths, and to make sure no President will EVER be allowed to mislead the American people into supporting an illegal war ever again?

I stopped watching when he was praising W about how "manly" he looked in the flight suit. I sent him the photo, told him to blow it up poster size for the backdrop on his set. This man changes his mind about as much as McCain. One week he is for Palin, next week against. I am wondering if he drinks with Boehner? If someone CREDIBLE would call for hearings, it might gain legs.

Go to the Neil Young website here:

Listen to song # 759 - "War Crimes W" - which is a parody of the Roy Orbison song (he didn't write it) Crying.

There are over 3372 songs here all inspired by W!

ideally yes they should be charged as criminals. I've been around long enough to know it will never happen.

The real culprits and the liars just keep on giving.

    SP is proof of that.

Congrats on your exceptional work here. One will learn quite a bit about Bush and their wars in the new book "Family of Secrets" by Russ Baker. Will also learn about all the other lies that got them both elected to the White House.

One wonders if he can have The Daily Show effect, does he have the pull to sway The Hill?

Iraq hearings? Probably not under the House leadership. . .Senate has oversight too. Hmmmm. Don't really see it happening. They were all so complicit, rubber stamping Bush's actions.

  7. "Sarah Palin Speaking Before Long Island Association Luncheon".

The Association president will ask Palin questions on national and international issues for one hour, with the media present! Nothing was said about Palin being provided a list of the questions in advance so this could be interesting. The luncheon is today, I can't wait to see this.

The truthful inner-belly of the U.S. Trojan Horse is we are fueled by Corporate capitalistic imperialism's constant need to plunder other country's resources to maintain our own obscene standard of living.
Wonder why Obama can't live up to our hope's of just ending Middle East tragedies and bring the troops home? Our economy is so lop-sided dependent on our own war machine it would collapse within a month.
K Street knows this. They won't cut off the legs that prop themselves up. And they won't bring legal charges against the primary operatives: Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal... ever.
That's just a pipe dream we all maintain for our own mental salve as we live the good life with all our cool stuff.

I remember the vote right before the midterm elections when Democrats said we should wait until we know more before authorizing this war and Bush and team came out screaming, calling them "unpatriotic" if they didn't authorize the war before November. They used it as a hammer saying if you don't vote to authorize the war, we will tell voters they need to elect "real patriots" that will "protect America" from Iraq.

Yes there should be hearings. And we should make Republicans explain their real definition of what a patriot is.

Note to Deebee: If you read Howard Zinn's "History of the United States", you'll see that pretty much sums up the history of the United States from the beginning and that means our right wing's beloved founding fathers also too. Unfortunately, this stuff is nothing new.

And, Gryphen, much as I would like to try, I can't watch Chris Matthews either. He's much too obnoxious, loud and rude. I'll just have to go with what you are saying.

  13. Okay, I watched, and Chris Matthews is right.

It's a little bit late to talk about a president never again sending soldiers to fight in a phony and illegal war. Obama needed to at least take the position that the war in Iraq must end immediately he became president. Even though we all know that is not his intention. He too knows that something must be salvaged out of that war in order to maintain a strong US presense on the Arabian peninsula.

It transcends partisan politics Gryphen. Are any American really capable of doing that? Is anyone here capable of doing that by being truthful?

And furthermore, the issue is a lot bigger than a few thousand American deaths. If there was any sincerity felt it would be pity for the Iraqi mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters who lost their loved ones in the hundreds of thousands to American bullets and bombs.

  16. I'm writing my Senators today too. Why has our nation been dragging its feet here? Anyone know how many other nations have already issued arrest warrants for Bush, et al? It seems our leaders are the last to be concerned about the needless loss of our blood and treasure in a war based on trumped-up "evidence". Thanks for posting this. Now all of us let's get busy correcting that oversight.

I know you admire Obama, Gryphen. But maybe you should tone down that admiration a little. His administration will never allow the Bush war criminals to be prosecuted.

Obama said right after the election that he wouldn't look back. Since then, he spends hours recounting the Bush economic disasters, never once criticizing these wars that are the true debt makers. In fact, he went right along with the military and spent even more money and lost even more lives. Unless he is backed into a corner, he will never do this. I pray that he does.
