I was such a good boy this year that I already received my copy of Geoffrey Dunn's book "The Lies of Sarah Palin: The Untold Story Behind Her Relentless Quest for Power."

It just arrived today, and I am only on page 40 of a 423 page book. (Not counting the Acknowledgements, Bibliography, and Index of course.)

So far it is an EXCELLENT read and I am already captivated by the story, even though I already know much of it.

I will not be posting any big bombshells or heretofore unknown tidbits, since Geoff is a friend, and I am not an asshole.  However I will gladly give you my opinion of this, the first of the explosive Palin centric books headed our way this year, once I have finished it.

Now if you will excuse me I have some reading to do.

(P.S. Have you ordered YOUR Geoffrey Dunn book yet?  Well what are you waiting for?  Click here.)

Yes, I have pre-ordered the trilogy and will do the same for Levi if he gets it together and does something worthwhile. I don't know if I can handle that many SP books, but I sure will support the authors. You betcha!

    I've pre-ordered this too.

Does it mean that the Palins will more than likely have access to a copy and be ready to counter on the day it is published? Or, allow them time to try and get out in front of it?

Just wondering and thinking I'm more than likely correct?

Appreciate hearing if you think she has a copy too, Gryph.

OK, call me petty, but that photo does her no favors, showing a middle aged woman well past her prime, with the fully softened jaw line and telltale sagging fold of skin that tells her story. I say that as a woman who rounded that bend a dozen years ago!

Hey, a little OT but Bristol is now almost unrecognizable, doing her little DWTS commentary. Her face looks very, um, shall I say different?

Sadly these are just prerecorded snippets that only show her from the neck up.

Whoever did her plastic surgery should be sued.

I am SOOOOO jealous!!! I'm counting down the days until my book arrives (it's my birthday present to myself). I just wish Paylin's mug wasn't on the cover; seeing her face on my night stand is probably going to provoke some nasty nightmares.

BTW...as this book has been advanced to several people, what do you think the mood is at La Casa de la Crazy?

I have my doubts on many things. I just found out that at least 2 of Sarah's former classmates blatantly lied to Dunn.

Look for a movie to come out about Sarah's childhood for the truth. It was NOT dysfunctional as Dunn claims.

Personally I found Dunn an extremely boring read but I'm disappointed that it's true that Alaskans have no problems lying to journalists.

Oh, wow! If Palin had been successful in her attempt at a Fundie abortion of Trig with the "wild ride" nonsense she could have served 15 years in prison for infanticide. Just heard this on TRMS.
Is this the country that I grew up in, as the teatards say? When will these religious righties leave the rest of us alone? They need to move to one of those countries in the Middle East where all the men try to control their women's lives.

When that batch of e-mails was released, that had exchanges between Todd & Sarah before Trig's "alleged" birth, there were references to picking up a puppy. Why would they get a puppy a few weeks before Sarah was going to give birth to a special needs baby? That does not make sense. Unless "puppy" was code for the baby they would soon "pick up" and soon adopt. Me thinks it is code for baby Trig who was photographed in a little hat that said "my puppy" in a very early picture. Does anyone know if they actually adopted a dog around that time.

I've been looking at the 3000 already-released emails and learned a few interesting things.

1)SP appears to have been taking BOSU exercise classes based on the email message she received on 4/21/08 from possibly her exercise instructor. BOSU are exercises with a half a ball - go online to read about it.

    MESSAGE:
Congratulations on your new little treasure, Governor Palin! We'll miss you this weekend at the
Sunday JRC BOSU class. I hope you and little Trig are feeling great.
    Take care,

2)From Lisa Demer's interview with CBJ: "This was going to be her last flight anyway, her doctor said." This is FALSE - she had two other flights planned. At 8+ months pregnant she had two flights lined up!!! One on April 20th and the other on April 26th to DC.

Todd Palin was given a seat in the exit row to fly to Dallas. They added him late to travel with Sarah (instead of security) and those were the best seats available (extra leg room). She was flying first class and, if possible, he would be moved up if something came available. So, the question remains, where did they sit? Did they sit together? Exit rows are a NO NO for pregnant women.

    http://www.adn.com/2008/03/23/353552/alaska-ear.html

However, there are new developments. Agia the dog, a gift from Curt Menard, is gone. It was badly behaved and got sent to doggie reform school. The trainer, a family friend, offered to keep Agia, and apparently everyone liked the idea.

Now the family has a new puppy, a Pomeranian-poodle mix. "A tiny puppy, it can fit in your hand," cooed press aide Sharon Leighow. Its name is Indie. Ear immediately flashed on the Indy 500 -- Todd and all that. But no. We're told it's short for "Independence."

The Lies of Sarah Palin: The Untold Story Behind Her Relentless Quest for Power

    Geoffrey Dunn

In The Lies of Sarah Palin,Geoffrey Dunnprovides the first full-scale and in-depth political biography of the controversial Republican vice-presidential candidate and former governor of Alaska. Based on more than two-hundred interviews---many of them with Republican colleagues and one-time political allies of Palin's---and more than forty-thousand pages of uncovered documents, Dunn chronicles Palin's troubling penchant for duplicity in grim detail, from her dysfunctional childhood in Wasilla through her contentious run for mayor and her failed governorship of Alaska. He also provides the shocking inside story of her betrayal of running mate John McCain during the 2008 presidential campaign and her self-serving resignation as governor in July of the following year. Dunn deftly places Palin in the American tradition of right-wing demagogues---from Huey Long to Joe McCarthy---and details her troubling obsession with Barack Obama as it fuels her own political ambitions and a potential run for the presidency in 2012. The Lies of Sarah Palinis a journalistic tour de force that vividly reveals the Queen of the Tea Party movement as a vengeful and manipulative empress without clothes. This is the definitive book on Sarah Palin.More »

5:03 left that same post on some other websites that are dedicated to exposing the truth about Palin. What 5:03 doesn't realize is that Dunn or any other responsible journalist will do is talk to lots of people, not just two classmates. If everyone tells pretty much the same story, except for the two friends of Sarah-- or vice verse, they are capable of sorting it out.

Think of a journalist collecting information like attending a trial, only more than two advocates. Each person will tell their story to make themselves look good, or help a friend, betray and enemy. When the writer collects hundreds of interviews, he is capable of finding consistency or contradiction. Two lying classmates don't matter, unless they have photos or some other interesting evidence.

A special note to Gryphen: I know that you can't post any quotes from the advance copy (you lucky guy!) However, please don't keep us in suspense. Be sure to let us know if his book will sink Palin or just do some small damage. Can't wait!

Saw Palin on Greta. She was talking so fast she could barely keep up with herself.

She really needs to learn about NATO, the President's role and the troops before she makes comments like she did. I believe she doesn't know what is, or has, gone on in Libya--only what Becky tells her and she doesn't retain it. There is something wrong with her speeding through that interview.

Off the book topic. But this is bad timing on Sarah's part.

Sarah confirms teh stoopid still burns brightly. Also, too, the petty vindictiveness so frequently on display is still there. Because it's NEVER her fault for screwing up. She's never forgotten a grudge.

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0411/53774.html

Asked by host Greta Van Susteren about the news of Couric’s departure, Palin said: “Yea, I think I read that in a newspaper” — elongating her pronunciation of “newspaper” — “one of many newspapers that I read, online.” Her inability to answer Couric’s question in 2008 about what newspapers she reads was widely mocked.

What she said then got even worse, with the word salad.

Stupid woman, the clue wasn't that you couldn't name anything you read, it was that you showed no evidence that you had ever read anything other than talking points.

    "The Bush Doctrine?!?!!"

Just gonna say, for those of you worried about the book cover, get a kindle!!! I got mine about a month ago; I just pre-ordered Dunn's book, no shipping charges and it will be automatically delivered on May 10.

I got my Kindle because my husband was tired of books cluttering up the study, the bedroom, the kitchen, etc. And I do even purge them from time to time. So, he urged me to get a Kindle. I love it. Easy to read (you can change the font size), you can read in direct sunlight, and when you want a book, no trip to the bookstore, no waiting for the UPS guy to deliver it.

Last month, for the first time, ebooks outsold regular books. It's the wave of the future, or the present, and you will love it. And you don't have to worry about unpleasant book covers!
