And here I thought that Sarah Palin could not care for former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt any less. But I bet she does after this!

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

That was very enjoyable, but THIS will forever be my favorite Steve Schmidt interview.

This is very tough to admit, but it appears that there was more to the Christy case than we knew...

The three-hour Anchorage court hearing, with Palin and her antagonists testifying by telephone, ended with the judge renewing a previous restraining order against Shawn Christy, 19, and issuing a similar order against his father, Craig.

Shawn Christy admitted in court to having threatened to rape Palin but has denied her allegations he menaced her daughters. He also admitted sending Palin numerous e-mails and gifts, and to traveling to Anchorage earlier this year.

Craig Christy admitted to making more than two dozen early morning phone calls to Palin's parents over a two-day period in March. He also acknowledged organizing a support group for his son to stage protests at events attended by Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, and he maintains a Facebook page with numerous anti-Palin messages.

State Superior Court Magistrate Jonathon Lack said he found the repeated telephone calls to Palin's parents, some of them recorded and played at the hearing, to be "very disturbing."

No wonder Steve's a behind the scenes guy, he is wooden and not very charismatic on the camera. That said, he must have wanted to kick Sarah and Todd's colossally stupid hillbilly asses every single day after her brilliant but fictional speech to the RNC accepting the VP slot on John McCain's ticket.

McCain's camp is forever tainted for bringing her on, they are doomed to defend her, they are doomed to criticize her - either position damages their credibility in being willing to risk the integrity of the POTUS by lowering the bar for such an ethically challenged and unqualified psycho like Sarah Palin.

There are thousands of sensational, educated, worldly and good-hearted Alaskan women in our State who don't have to wear their patriotism and faith on their sleeves to beef up their accomplishments.

It's mind-boggling that such a unequipped pretender was given a one in a billion platform to rip the American people off ever since.

You know how Sarah Palin likes to attack 'anonymous' sources as a basis for a storyline? She's no better with people willing to put a name and face to their criticism.

Anyone with any kind of critique of this joke of a quasi-political character is public enemy number one to her and her niche demographic.

I like how Steve brought up questioning the Americanness of anyone here, it was a dirty tactic I'm sure he helped along, but it's wrong and irresponsible for people with pull like Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump and George Allen (of Macaca fame) to pull McCarthyism tactics against their opponents and the electorate that doesn't want them. If we don't support them we aren't American?

Go to hell Sarah, and Steve also too, you still went along with her as a conservative brand despite her glaring deficiencies. She's spilt milk and we are all still crying over it.

  7. I am so busy reading but must say that I bet someone has a dictionary by her side as she reads this book.
I am so enjoying the book. It is brilliantly and intelligently written and so enlightening.

@5:04, uh.... Are you slow? He works in politics. I don't think he is under the impression that everybody is part of his fan club. Least of all members of Sarah's (like you).

Do you call Steve Schmidt "a proven mysogynistic asshole" because he was a meanie towards the half term governor or do you have other reasons? By using the big word "mysogynistic" you must not be Bristol, The Chin, even though the use of "asshole" fits with her vocabulary.

I'm glad to hear him acknowledge Obama's leadership abilities, and dismiss Trump as the clown he is.

Yet, two years ago, he was doing his best to secure a high office for an insane woman, who he knew would abuse her power.

Perhaps, like Frank Bailey, having marched through the valley of death, he is now determined to stick to the high ground, and raise the level of political discourse in this country.

The Republicans have gone so far off the deep end, it is strange to find someone I agree with on a regular basis. It *almost* makes me feel like I am an Independent again.

Sarah will not like this article by Joshua Green of the Atlantic (this is just a snippet. The whole article is worth a read:

    http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/06/the-tragedy-of-sarah-palin/8492

    The Tragedy of Sarah Palin

From the moment Sarah Palin’s acceptance speech electrified the Republican convention, she was seen as an unbending, hard-charging, red-meat ideologue—to which soon was added “thin-skinned” and “vindictive.” But a look at what Palin did while in office in Alaska—the only record she has—shows a very different politician: one who worked with Democrats to tame Big Oil and solve the great problem at the heart of the state’s politics. That Sarah Palin might have set the nation on a different course. What went wrong?

"Mysogynistic" is one of Sarah's favorite words. My guess is she learned what it meant sometime during or since the VP campaign and loves to throw it out whenever she can.

He tells the truth AFTER the fact. He's no better than Mccain and whomever else responsible for putting Palin out there. They knew way back then what they had on their hands.

Speaking of hands, she's got blood on hers, and so do they. Six dead, many wounded. This is what she hoped for Barack Obama durning the campaign.

She's a privileged, ungrateful bitch. She's acheived the American dream. Yet, she's still hateful, bitter, and ignorant. Now her offspring get's to cash in too.

I remember him. Reminded me of a skinhead.

I'm sorry, I appreciate that he has regrets, but he didn't vocalize them until after they lost. What if they hadn't?

To his credit, though, better late than never. Unlike McCain who actually had her campaign for him again in 2010, even after knowing what she really is.

Isn't he the one that called out Palin while involved w/the McCain campaign?

Steve Schmidt is just as Sarah described him in "Going Rogue": A fat, sweaty, bald man who wore sunglasses atop his head at night, and used the "F" word in front of children.

Steve is talking like MANY in the GOP who are discusted with folks like Trump and Palin and Huckabee who just can't accept that President Obama can do stuff right. Does not mean we want him as president for another 4. BUT, if the choice is between Palin, huck or trump vs. Obama, Obama has my vote again.

Here's the big difference between Schmidt and the folks here who are calling him names: he actually had to work with Palin. He knows what she's really like. And, even though he dislikes her, after working with her and seeing what she's really like, ya don't hear him name calling.

It's called class. He has it. She doesn't.

I shudder to think how hard he worked to foist that unbalanced woman on the political scene.

Schmidt was an force in the decision to select Palin. He campaigned to get her as VPOTUS.

There aren't words to express how I feel about that. He has had 2 years to shout from the rooftops that she's an unqualified, unbalanced, lying imbecile. Besides a few interviews we've heard nothing from him.
FU Schmidt. You can Sniff sulfur for eternity with McCain.
