There is no longer any hiding the fact that Bristol has had some very obvious cosmetic surgery done, and since she flaunted her new look last night at the White House Correspondents Dinner, I believe that now is reasonable time to address it.
Look it is one thing to get a glaring flaw fixed, or to straighten out a broken nose, or even for a flat chested woman to want to get SOMETHING she can put into a bathing suit top. I am certainly not going to be judgemental about a woman's right to choose, even if that choice is a little plastic surgery
But the amount that Bristol has obviously had done seems to me an indication of a problem far more troubling than a simple dissatisfaction with a facial flaw.
One of the reasons that women, especially very young women, get a large amount of plastic surgery done is because they suffer from BDD, or Body Dysmorphic Disorder. This can occur for a variety of reasons, including Brain chemical differences, Structural brain differences, Genes, or impact from their Environment (Such as constantly being compared to a particularly attractive relative or suffering teasing by friends or family.)
According to Mercede, Bristol was ALWAYS very insecure, and was indeed the victim of teasing from her family and friends. However since her mother seems fixated on her appearance as well, genetics could also be a factor.
Add to that the fact that Bristol seems to now want to fit in with the Hollywood set, and it is fairly easy to see how small fixations on perceived imperfections can suddenly become all consuming. And once you fix one thing you hate about yourself, why stop there?
I am absolutely NOT writing this to pick on Bristol. In fact when it comes to this topic I feel very badly for her.
I was in a long term relationship with a woman who suffered from BDD and I can tell you first hand that it can be debilitating and all consuming. The constant diets, the insecurities, and the self loathing, make it virtually impossible to have a healthy relationship with somebody like this. Believe me I tried for fifteen years.
Ultimately they will question why you love them, and doubt that you do, because they themselves cannot find reason to love themselves. Everything is externalized and they believe if only they could change themselves physically they would finally achieve happiness. And deserve to be loved.
Personally I hope that someday Bristol gets some therapeutic help and learns to love herself for WHO she is, and not WHAT she looks like. Because youth and beauty are only temporary, but kindness and compassion will make you a gorgeous person on the inside for a lifetime.
P.S. And before the Palin-bots start running over here blaming US for driving her to get the surgery due to our discussion about her weight on DWTS, let me point out we were talking about a potential pregnancy, NOT a normal weight gain. And besides THAT would certainly not explain the chin implant now would it?
I think she was at her prettiest when she was herself, before any surgery. She looked fresh and natural and normal then. I wish her well. She has a long road to travel.

ReplyDeleteBristol has made hundreds of thousands of dollars the same way Kate Gosselin has...public speaking, posing for tabloid covers, and being on reality tee vee. as such, she is subject to the same media scrutiny as Kate. And just like Kate, she's had multiple plastic surgeries, hair weaves, etc.

I think it goes beyond and of the reasons you stated. I think Bristol was brought up to be ashamed of her Native heritage and she, because of that self loathing, has removed any vestige of that out of her looks.
ReplyDeleteBut if she thinks this will get her onto TV or the movies, she is very mistaken. Rarely is anyone hired that is overweight and Hollywood is becoming less enchanted with "enhanced" looks all the time and is moving towards for more unique features all the time.
Unfortunately Bristol ruined her natural look and now looks like a 40 yr old with too much work done already.
What mother would let her daughter do that.

ReplyDeleteI will say one thing though--she at least learned to stand up straight due to her stint on DWTS. If she can just keep her mouth shut, she may actually turn out to be the lady her Mama never will.
Bristle's been missing for a while. I wonder with the chin if they had to basically break the jaw in order to do the work. Makes me wonder if anyone saw her as doing work on chin and nose causes bruising and if jaw had to be broken (sawed/cut), I would think it would have to be wired shut for a few months.
ReplyDeleteHaving had jaw surgery (not cosmetic), it required being wired for 10 weeks.
It then raises a question as she still has her gutt and I know by experience being wired, you don't eat solid food and there is weight loss. Just like DWTS, Bristle would be the only one to gain or retain weight wired shut. She gained on DWTS. Look at Kirstey Alley - she's lost over 30 pounds - Bristle -- gain all that!!!
Do I feel sorry for her because of mental meltdown on her looks. No - in fact HELL NO. For someone to be as hateful as she is, the last think is I would have any feelings of feeling sorry for that whore bitch.
Sad thing for Bristol is that she won't be able to go Christmas shopping this year.

I had a beautiful mom whom everyone admired and I could see in their (and her) eyes that I didn't measure up to her level of attractiveness. My mom used to shame me, nag me and joke about me to make me want to be as narcissistic as she was. She thought she was helping me, I think. It does wreak havoc on your self-esteem and I suspect some of that has happened in Bristol's life.
ReplyDeleteI've got to chime in here with an opposing viewpoint, as much as it galls me to. I don't think there was a chin implant. She has the same chin, it's just not surrounded by a fat neck and cheeks. If anything, she had some lipo sculpture done on the cheeks and neck and now her chin looks longer and narrower. I'm not sure she's had anything else done. Those pictures just look like she had her make-up professionally done. She has pretty good skin so make-up can get her looking a little plastic when it's put on heavily.

the saddest and most glaring of this cosmetic surgery FAIL is that she and her hag mother shoved her down our throats as the voice for teens in trouble with pregnancy - so tell me how this surgical change is setting a good example for ANY young girl? If anything, you have a very confusing message brisdull...and that is to practise abstinence when you didn't and still don't and now you've given them even more confusion with being ok with who they are without sexual relations but you morphed yourself into a sexual object, now didn't you? When I look at this mess of a unmarried Mom, I see a very troubled and horrible example to set for anybody - no matter what the age. I would not want my daughter to share any of your hypocritical behavior. Get some therapy and a mirror.

As a mother, my heart aches for Bristol. She must be a very troubled young woman to go to such extremes for acceptance. Sadly, I think that in the not too distant future, Bristol will regret what she's done - but it's already too late. Her new face just doesn't look natural and it will not bring her the happiness and acceptance that she feels she's lacking.

Honestly, from what I know, what you described doesn't really sound like what I know about Bristol. Her friends constantly compliment her. Obviously we have no proof of her reasoning on anything. I will say that I have a similar faceshape to her natural face and if I had the money, I'd lose the roundness at the bottom. I also wouldn't call Bristol insecure. True shy and insecure people don't wear the things she wears. We know nothing about her and I certainly don't trust her enemy (since the beginning) to give insight. (esp since said enemy purchased a couple of new ornaments not too long ago)
ReplyDeleteGiven that Bristol has several projects coming up keeping her in the public eye, she's acting as a hollywood type would. Her face is her livelihood so to speak. It's a sad fact. I'd only be worried if she were being neglected or unloved. She is neither.
Sarah on the other hand was not aging that gracefully. In 05, she looked about 50.
I have to dissent. She was an unattractive girl originally. Probably a bitch to be the homely daughter of a pretty woman -- maybe that is why she got herself knocked up a time or two. Insecurity.
ReplyDeleteShe looks better after all the plastic surgery. Not pretty, mind you, because plastic surgery can only do so much, but better. Unfortunately, her chin is still not so nice. The surgeon basically took someeone with no chin and gave her one, but it is too sharp. Still an improvement over no chin. She looks less like her grandfather Chuckles now.
Poor thing. Good thing she got herself knocked up to get the money to pay for all her plastic surgery. Tripp is her little moneymaker.
Thanks for the education today. I've never heard of BDD. But with your description I now have a lable that explains exactly my own mother's terrible self-image. For her, a woman who danced professionally most of her young life and then after she married and had kids, lives for excercise class; she cannot see herself objectively and with pleasure -never. Her mother was Borderline Personality Disorder and made my mother's life miserable up to the day she died - and perhaps beyond because my mother can't get her own mother's deragatory view out of her mind. She's 76 and when she looks in the mirror, instead of seeing a fantastic, fit, beautiful person (at an age when most of her peers are in wheelchairs), she sees the fun house mirror image.

ReplyDeleteI am of Cherokee descent and have never been a "looker" by any means. A BIG nose has followed me all of my 53 years, and I have been teased mercilessly throughout my life. Did I make changes? No, I learned to laugh and accept my imperfections. Who you are comes from within.
At such a young age to go this route is, indeed, saddening. At a mere 20 she had not fully blossomed yet. She will just need more and more.
If Bristol thinks the new face will help her in Hollywood, she is dumber than her mother.

ReplyDeleteI think we're overexagerrating the work she's had done. She was photographed, albeit privately, in mid March. then a couple pics turned up from early April. Fixing a chin she doesn't like isn't a longterm problem. Bristol's always been wellliked without a care. I don't think she was ready for weight changes childbearing brings. She referenced earlier she wants to be back to her May 09 size. Yet that summer, she had gained a little weight. There was really only 1-2 months where she was tiny, post birth.
Given that Bristol is used to seeing family members struggle with weight, I think they all support each other. That makes sense to me.
Her surgery did nothing to address her weight problem. Good lord Palin's - you are rolling in dough, hire a stylist already! You women don't have the sense to dress. Hoodies or athletic jackets and the (inexplicable) Star of David just don't cut it (or it does, they are still laughing all the way to the bank and wrangling guest invitations to enviable events.)

ReplyDeleteShe could probably have gotten up off her ass and worked out an hour a day and improved her face that way. I did it in my 40s (and not in a gym) and it took 15 yrs off my body and face w/no plastic surgery or anything else--just exercise, and it cost me nothing but time. No one thought I was in my 40s with adult children--no one.
Money can't buy everything, but healthy living can keep you young and full of vigor.
I would have more sympathy for Bristol if she and Willow had not savaged a class mate on their twitter or facebook or which ever. Especially since it was probably not a one time type of attack.
ReplyDeleteThere is obviously great dysfunction in the Palin household from top down, the sooner the younger Palin's get therapy the better. And Bristol now has that responsibility not only to her self but to her son.
Next time she asks momma's Atilla like hordes to cheat for her on some something like DWTS or, God forbid, public office, let's hope she has learned that unearned glory is hollow glory, and indeed can increase a sense of inadequacy.
Let's also hope and pray that Bristol will soon realize that her problems will be passed to her child and cause him great harm if she does not take the opportunity now, while she has the money, and do for her psyche what she thinks she is doing by raping her face.
Remember where Michael Jackson's face ended up from too much plastic surgery, Bristol. At this point in your life you are way ahead of his downward spiral.

it's pretty obvious now why that shit was put out about brisdull 'banning her mother' from her home - 1st - she was going to a dinner with a bunch of liberals and they had to put something out there to suggest that brisdull might like liberals so that they didn't snub her, and 2nd - now that she's all plastic-ed out it's obvious that she wants a hollywood career, so it's best to give the impression that she might like liberals. I agree completely. And isn't that part of a total self loathing that is inflicted by the parents?
Publicly discussing someone's personal issues is NOT the way to help. Young girls will always have body issues, has they aren't physically mature. Growing up with a "trophy mom" certainly doesn't help them. Trust me, I've been there. Honestly, I think most people abhor real round faces and weak chins. She's not Heidi Montag who is completely different. Bristol still looks the same. But to call her insecure when you don't know her isn't too bright. She's proud of herself. Look at how she strutted before now and now. No difference. She was confident last Sept and confident now.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like she got both chin and cheek implants, a well as a nose job (with perhaps more added to the tip to make it pointer, or shaved from the sides of the tip to make it more sculpted), plus it's very likely she had an eyelid lift which is why her eyes seem to have that surprised look now.
ReplyDeleteThe chin implants don't require breaking the jaw, they are silicone pieces that are stuck to the bone (not sure how) and same with the cheeks. The chin implants are often done in conjunction with nose jobs if a person has a recessive chin so their profile looks more balanced. However in this case they went way beyond improving her profile and used such a huge implant that her jaw sticks out and looks super long and pointy (like Jay Leno's as someone said which I"m fairly certain is natural!).
Oh and the neck liposuction to get rid of her jowl--that is often part of the chin implant procedure

She had to use this old photo for her book; what were the alternatives: 1) Pregnant; 2) some guy laying on her at DWTS; 3) pregnant again; or 4) mouth wired shut from plastic surgery?
ReplyDeleteas many of us have stated before, thrusting bristol out in on the public stage and then pushing her into a candies spokesmodel position at a very sensitive time and for a person with such low self esteem must have been very traumatic for her. michael jackson was most likely a sufferer of bdd, and we all know how that went. all the surgery never made him happy and he came to regret it, especially when he looked older than he should have by the mid-nineties. he too was teased and made fun of, and had an overbearing parent who tried to force him to be what said parent wanted him to be. but money allowed him to do what he wanted to, whether or not his family approved, and no matter how attractive and talented he already was without rearranging his looks. who knows if sarah "approves" of this, but i can't imagine the sadness of seeing my precious child totally change the face you so love on her for a new one that is a hodgepodge of features.
ReplyDeletechelsea clinton also had plastic surgery after being in the public eye - she was often the target of jokes from right-wingers, most famously john mccain himself - look up that gem if you don't know what i'm referring to. she had a little work done on features i am guessing she felt very insecure about. i think she was lovely before, but she does still look like chelsea now, and hasn't continued getting surgery obsessively. i can understand a balanced approach like this, if it makes life easier for her and isn't drastic. but chelsea didn't choose to be in the spotlight and doesn't continue to. bristol keeps going for it like a moth to light, and it seems to harm her and warp her more and more the longer she aspires to it. shame. i hope she gets some help.

Bristol was a very beautiful young lady. Why on God's green earth would she even WANT to do that to her face? That chin is not even funny. She looks like an offspring of Jay Leno. Sarah Palin continues to show what a pathetic and non-existent mother she is. I shudder to think what is going to come of Willow and Pipe. And as soon as it is proven that Sarah is NOT Trig's mother, I hope he is adopted out to a coule who will really love him. Sarah Palin is not capable of loving anybody but herself.
ReplyDeleteIf one has the money, why is this bad? Bristol is not an unhappy person. She's driven, lively and lives for her son. If you'd peer at her using an objective eye and not one that believes all the lies about her family, you'd see this. Because she now earns a living, that provides for her son, by marketing herself (as actors and public figures do), she maintains herself however she can. It's her business. If you disagree, don't get PS and tell your kids your feelings. Obviously Bristol doesn't feel the same way. Millions of these procedures occur every year for various reasons. If someone wants a completely new face, why talk them down? It's not like she got a new face. she chiseled away her round face and fixed the one thing she's always complained about. She looks the same essentially.

Obviously, $arah didn't follow that up with wise counsel on how to handle it or how to invest her new-found money. Bristol should really be putting that money towards education and investing for the future, not cosmetic surgery. She was a cute girl before all this alteration. Diet and exercise would have helped the chin. If not she could have just had a little liposuction done in the chin area. But instead, she looks like a different person, and an artificial one at that.

Thank you for focusing on some probable psychological causes of this choice - maybe someone in the family will intervene and get that girl some help. She has the money and therefore the opportunity to break away from her mentally ill mother. I don't appreciate the folks calling her fat etc. on here - thanks to her mother & father, she doesn't have the tools to lead life as a good person & therefore her behavior makes us all dislike her - quit picking on her looks.

ReplyDeleteShe DID address her confidence issues last fall in some magazine (during dwts) and posed for pics looking quite confident. She may have been like most teen girls and felt weird (prior to growing into herself).

When you see someone living a life you desire, you're going to say hurtful and dishonest things to bring them down. Ring a bell? Bristol recently posted a picture on facebook of herself driving. she also posted a pic of a girl in the exact same pose driving with the same comment as Bristol made of her own picture. Bristol remarked to a friend, "this girl is still trying to be me, she has since high school" or something like that.
THAT is the type of person small towns raise. There are people who make it out and people who don't. There are people who build their lives on someone else's back and those who don't

I won't give you any flack for this Gryp. I think it's valid. It's not only a worrying trend, if this is what young women are doing, but also in Bristol's case it's just as much an expression of loneliness and low self esteem as her pregnancy was. (What teen with high self esteem purposely has a baby?) This is just part II of that same mindset of hers.
ReplyDeleteFor Bristol to go through this extremely radical surgery, she must have really hated her body. So who knows, maybe now she looks in the mirror and doesn't hate what she sees. Maybe that will make her less combative with the world (I don't dare say nicer). She seems to be wanting a personal new start, a change, so good luck to her with that. Change is good, unless that change is in the form of "running" from yourself or your problems. If it's what you describe, Gryp, then she'll have a long road ahead.
I can relate to what you said about "ultimately they will question why you love them, and doubt that you do, because they themselves cannot find reason to love themselves." I used to live with a survivor of sexual abuse, and it was exactly the same. No amount of love was enough.
I'm not sure what Bristol's deal is, but as far as her looks, it doesn't matter. What matters is what's on the inside. Hopefully she's working to become a better person.

ReplyDeleteVery O/T, but NPR just aired a segment on potential Pres. candidates and covered SP in the context of Wasilla city council and mayor. They interviewed former Mayor Stein and an AIP-type guy (if I got that right, or he was an anti-tax guy) and one of them said "you don't want to piss her off." Initially, she was recruited to run for city council and had a pro-government growth agenda.

ReplyDeleteShe used to be a pretty girl. Now she is a very unattractive young woman. There is nothing that a plastic surgeon has to offer that can compete with beauty that comes from within. There are countless examples of women out there, many of them very much in the public eye, that points to the damage that bad plastic surgery does to a person's psyche & life.
If she wants to be a "star" she has only to look at Meg Ryan, Barbara Hershey, Melanie Griffith and many of the others who found themselves on the outside looking in after going to excessive lengths to be "beautiful" or to look "younger." Jennifer Grey, who was on the dancing show with her, is another great example -- she rushed out and got a nose job and then found there were no "jobs" for her in the industry. Heidi Montag anyone?
Bristol now has nothing to offer as a "star" that zillions of other girls willing to go to the same lengths can offer -- plastic fake face.
As the mother of two girls, one of them Bristol's age, I have to say that no loving mother would ever ever encourage her daughter to do the horrible things to her face that Bristol has had done to hers. Perhaps she did it against the evil lady's wishes? I'll give the evil lady the benefit of the doubt because I cannot stand the thought of a mother so twisted and unloving as to encourage that destructive -- FOREVER -- behavior. It makes me sick to think about it.

I know Bristol revels in being native. Her friends also compliment her "indian hair". It's interesting to note that now her chin resembles Todd's. Sarah has no chin. I think Bristol, like anyone without a strong chin, felt relief when she finally had the money to rectify the situation.
ReplyDeleteFor everyone who says we're judging people we don't know, most of us know far more than we would like about the Palins. Sarah and Bristol can't have it both ways. If they want privacy, then they need to stop putting every detail of their lives on display (eg Bristol's tabloid cover with Levi, DWTS and SPA, SP telling everyone intimate details of Trig's alleged birth). As long as they are putting their lives out there, trying to shape the national discourse, and presenting themselves as role models, they should expect and even welcome scrutiny. And nothing we have seen of their public faces communicates that either Sarah or Bristol is secure, well-adjusted, kind, or happy.

I think Bristol was a fine looking young woman. I can only think she was marginalized by her mom to the point of no return. I think the surgeon who did that to her should be sued. It's easy and even at the salon, an affordable way to take a good 10 years off the age-meter. I now she's trying to prove a point with her grays, but they just age a person so much. Why bother staying slim and having a youthful body only to ruin it with a head full of grays?
AS others have pointed out, the sad or jarring part of this is that she has altered her face to the point that she no longer looks like the same person, which means she erased herself from existence, and it gives me a really strange feeling. Why would someone that pretty do this?

Last year an employee of a plastic surgery office wrote here that Bristol came in wanting all this work and the doctor refused. She made a scene and argued. They told her they could not do what she wanted so she stomped off saying she would find a doctor who would do what she wanted! I'm not sure if this is true, just pointing out the person posted here.

If a girl has a mother who is well-known for her beauty, and the mother flaunts it endlessly on magazine covers and tv, it's going to have an effect on the young girl. She's going to compare herself to her mother, no ifs or no buts about it.
ReplyDeleteNow, if she looks like her dad's side of the family, or has inherited a grandparents looks, and it doesn't compare as well as mom's, she's going to harbor worry that people will think she's less appealing than mom or siblings who look more like mom.
Add to this scenario a narcissistic mom who only cares about her own feelings, and it's
a recipe for disaster. Resentments, jealousy, and panic ensues in the girl especially when she has her friends over and the young guys think her mom is HOT!
Not to mention the mom who also thinks she's HOT and is flirtatious, wears shorter skirts, and hooker high heel pumps, wears a boatload of makeup, tousles her hair to look sexy, and is slim and fit. If the young daughter has a weight problem and didn't inherit mom's slender build, again it's a recipe for future therapy. Of course, unless mom is sensitive and caring and explains to her daughter that looks aren't as important as character, and if mom decides to downplay her own beauty so daughter can feel more attractive......but who are we talking about here? I don't think that's about to happen.

Remember the picture of Bristol with hair parted on the side and straight with maybe a sweater on and a jacket. She was standing in front of some people and there was a good looking man next to her that was a little bald on top. That picture was I guess right after dwts and she looked just like a picture for an ad for an all American Girl. Hard to believe she looked like that when you look at these pictures.

ReplyDeleteThat says it all. Focus on the looks and you can get the things you want. What's between the ears isn't worth spending time on cultivating. Too much effort and not much fun.
Didn't she have a previous nose job at some point, maybe while a teen? Her nose, while unchanged in the photos listed, looks strangely "perfect". If she did, her whole face is different that the one God gave her (for someone so religious, why mess with God's creation?).
ReplyDeleteI understand her wanting the chin implant and the lypo, because she had a receding chin and double chins, but why did she have the eyelift? Who has an eyelift at 20? Exercise could have helped with the fat because she didn't have the double chin back in 2009. She was much prettier before all the surgeries.
All that money that she could use for an education and instead she gets surgery to "fix" herself for Hollywood. She's not even old enough to know that money and looks don't buy happiness.
Sarah, the next time Bristol says she'll be back in a couple of weeks, she's going to the store to get some milk, maybe you can take that as a sign that Bristol is about to go under the knife again.
ReplyDeletei have a friend who sort of did this same thing when she inherited money after her mother died. but she was in her 40s. and she NEEDED some of it done -- for instance she had missing teeth and she got implants. she had some face surgery, too, got her hair dyed and styled and started wearing nicer clothes. she looks like an entirely different person and at first it was odd. now i'm used to it and she does look better. i think the main problem for bristol is that by starting this so young she is going to have to keep having maintenance surgery as time goes on and god knows what that's going to look like by the time she is 50. not wise to do this at such a young age. although i've read that more and more teenage and early 20's girls are doing this.

ReplyDeleteWhat's really something is that this young woman was just as pretty, if not prettier, than her famous mother. If she did this in a quest to be "just as pretty as Sarah"...it was not necessary.

First of all, she didn't seem distinctive in that way, but more importantly, so what if she did resemble people with that background??? Beautiful culture, beautiful people. There would be nothing to fix!
It's really very sad. I think Gryphen's discussion of body image disorder is unfortunately what is at work here with Bristol.
And yes, the vast, vast majority of comments made about Bristol on DWTS were only about whether or not she looked pregnant. I can't recall anyone saying anything mean about Bristol's appearance, otherwise. She was very pretty on the show, if overly made up like the other contestants.

I am always amazed at the Trolls that come here defending these silly people. I can understand feeling sorry for them but trying to defend their actions? Why bother? WHo are you trying to kid? They love the attention positive or negative it matters not as long as people are talking.

ReplyDeleteActually, Bristol looks like a caricature of her former self. Her mother should be ashamed she didn't help Bristol out of that pregnancy and show her the way to her full potential. She was apparently a good student and it makes me just sad when she said if not for her pregnancy she would be attending school somewhere outside Alaska. This weird life she is engaging in is just a cheap replacement for lost potential. And to all you pro-life idiots: Get a life.

ReplyDeleteWhile there have been many indications that she has a rather ugly streak in her personality, I've always thought that, physically, she was a pretty girl. Now she looks like a page from a plastic surgeon's catalogue labelled "Generic Brunette #35".
I can't imagine looking in the mirror and seeing a face that doesn't belong to me.
If she's done this much work to herself at this young age, she's got a long and painful life ahead of her, both emotionally and physically. And her child(ren) will have a very distorted perception of what are acceptable physical attributes.

In fact, my children are still a work in progress in their early twenties. Part of their progress is determining who they are, what they value and what they want to become. Bristol has never had the opportunity for self discovery and independence. She was the daughter of a governor who decided to rebel in a big way by getting pregnant. She was then thrust onto the national stage as a pregnant teen and forced to be the VP candidate's daughter. She was then forced into the tabloid spotlight through magazine covers, reality shows, and public gigs.

Very few people here said anything disparaging about Bristol's weight, only speculating about it in relation to the fact that she has most pokey NOT been abstinent since giving birth to Tripp. And I can't recall anyone saying she had an ugly face. Personally, I always found her to be prettier than her mother. I find it quite sad that she felt driven to change her looks to the degree she did. The fact that Sarah's reality show/political advertisement showed Bristol being teased by her sister in relation to something Bristol obviously hated about herself (while being filmed for a national audience) reveals a lot about the family.
ReplyDeleteBristol really is representative of the fame-obsessed segment of her generation. She gained notoriety, basically for having sex, became famous and well-paid despite having achieved nothing and having no talent, sold herself and her son over and over again to the tabloids, transformed herself into some plastic version of a "star," and seems hellbent on maintaining the spotlight in whatever way possible.
It's pathetic, really.
I just seen Aunt Molly with Bristol at the Washington DC dinner and the only thing I have to say is Todd married the wrong sister! OMG wowwweee... Aunt Molly's girls came out to play!

And sure, I say this as one who loathes her, and noticed and commented negatively on her inexplicable pregnancy-like weight gain while she was on DWTS. Bristol was fat, but she wasn't ugly - just ugly on the *inside*.
Her new face looks fake, fake, fake... she looks like she's wearing a plastic Halloween mask. Even worse, she looks so proud of her new face. Sorry, Bristol, this isn't going to change a thing.
It's a lousy stinkin' shame that Keith Olbermann wasn't at the MSNBC shindig to intimidate Palin just by standing there and staring at her with a 'I know what you really are' expression on his face.

ReplyDeleteI'm not convinced it's her. Just a little "too" confident looking. She's never had that sincere of a smile in her posed pictures. Plus, not talking to the media? She's about to have a book come out and she's not talking about it? Remember the questions about a body double at a speaking event? I think it was post-DWTS. The purple dress during her speech didn't have a pattern, but the one mixing with after the crowd did.

she does look different, older than before. kind of a homogenous, hollywood, generic look. i think she was prettier before. and i think as she ages the changes and scar tissue will affect her too. kind of sad.
ReplyDeleteBDD is a fierce cycle of self mutilation, I had a dear friend in College who never felt "good enough", she was stunningly beautiful and just didn't see it. She hated the attention men gave her, went out of her way at great expense and risk to her health, and ended up attracting exactly the same type of attention she loathed. The last time I saw her, she looked hideous. Her face was so tight that her lips didn't meet.

Unlike others, I feel Sarah does have some blame, but Bristol is a grown woman with a child(ren), and she's ultimately to blame. The poor girl can't seem to say "no" to anything.

ReplyDeleteSeriously, we all saw her brief bit on that teen show and then that PSA with The Situation. Bristol was simply not talented. And on DWTS, well, all one has to do is watch Mark and this season's partner to realize that it was Mark doing all work. Poor guy had to drag Bristol around the floor. His current partner works harder and adds as much to the dance as Mark does. I haven't seen him feel compelled to put her in monkey suit.
The "Bristol is super-confident and happy" trolls are fooling no one. If what you write is true, you wouldn't be here. And if Bristol really were so "sweet" she wouldn't have such nasty friends.

ReplyDeleteChelsea, like Bristol, had surgery fairly young. If you looked at Chelsea's wedding pictures, you probably thought they were beautiful.
Some women choose to change their looks. I hope Bristol takes an example from Chelsea and let's this "round" of work stand for a few years before contemplating anything else.
Both of these young ladies improved their "chins".

And she seems to like herself more, dressing as sexy (although like her mother inappropriately) for such an event when others are in black tie. Sarah must not be happy. It only reinforces once again what an OLD HAG is becoming.
