Roger Ailes: "I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings." Seriously, who does this surprise?

Courtesy of the Yahoo News:

From the start, Ailes has steadfastly denied any such political bias or agenda on the part of his network. Politics, schmolitics: "I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings," he declares.

Well he certainly did not hire her for her intelligence or ability to add anything important to the political debate now did he?

And let's face it who else does Ailes have on his staff besides the embarrassingly incompetent Mama Grizzly who gets to preview her questions and have her responses written on a TELEPROMPTER for her?

And now that she is no longer the draw that she once was, Ailes will simply kick her to the curb, just like she has done to SO many of those that SHE has used up and cast aside.

"Uh Ms. Palin, there is Karma holding on line two for you. Says it is pretty important that you take the call."

Gee I wonder how the Palin-bots will spin THIS one?

Yeah, so Sarah's no longer hot, and her ratings and polls are in the toilet. Now what?

It seems like Sarah is down to 2 appearances per week lately. For $1 mill a year that is nice work if you can get it. When is Grandma's contract up, BTW?

That's about the best picture I've ever seen of Sarah. She certainly was very pretty.

So much hatred, conniving, lies, and stress has totally destroyed her looks. Now she looks like an old shrew.

It is a cynical comment by a cynical man.

Is Ailes finally admitting Faux News is essentially not news and his political pundits are not pundits?

This man is beyond pointless and obviously does not have an ethical bone in his body.

The grifter is buying a new case of cans today.

Didn't GirlCrush VanSustren practically rip the head off of some right winger for calling Granny a "MILF" and for having the nerve to print what Mike Tyson said about her on his blog?

Wonder what she's gonna say about Grampa Ailes confirming that the only reason he hired Palin was because of her (gag) hotness?

Seems the bloom is off the rose for Ailes. Maybe
GVS can hire her BFF as her personal assistant.
Looks like Granny's gonna need a job soon.

I did notice the so-called rumor about an unidentified attorney making inquiries into Presidential campaign information originated at see of pee.

Makes you wonder if Sarapac is running low on contributions?

She's added three speeches this month alone.

Some would say that's presidential warmups

I'm thinking the gravy train is slowing and her burn rate continues unabated.

With all the new revelations she's going to have to expand her payroll of payoffs or sweeten the pot of those already on the take. That's not cheap.

Once she can't afford to buy silence that leaves it up to Toad to do some enforcement work and sadly, there's just so many he can threaten or bludgeon before he gets busted.

Don't forget your fishing license Toad. And maybe check with BP to see if you can get your old gig back on the slopes.

This is great news and will continue her decline. I still think she will declare as a third party/Tea Party candidate because she is so arrogant she cannot resist the label "PRESIDENTIAL candidate Sarah Palin". VP wasn't good enough ya know.

But damn it anyway, I don't want people to just peck her to death. Her skeletons and the complicit MSN need to come out as well !!!! Not just this pecking and Nicole Wallace's backhanded disclosures in her new book.

P.S. And I'm sorry, but Shailey's posts come off as quite random and as one commenter asked this morning -- if she has degrees and training and is a writer or something why can't she get a real job versus what she was doing with Todd? I really hope she has dirt on Sarah, but she is doing herself no favors with the wierd posts that don't make much sense. Please help her organize if you can. Thanks.

The charade that Ailes has perpetuated using Sarah as a "news" pundit, is cynical at best, criminal at worst. To prop her up like Gryphen detailed is unconscionable.

But when you swim with the sharks, you get ripped to shreds by them eventually, and I'd say that Ailes ain't pullin' any punches on the little chick from Wasilla these days. It won't be long before he totally cuts her loose, that's for sure.

As it is now, Blowhard Bill won't even talk to her, Suckup Sean has lost the sparkle in his eye over her, Grimacing Greta has had about enough of her...even her mainstays are rolling their eyes and gritting their teeth when she opens her yap for another round of 'rill Americans', 'common sense conservative', 'mavericky unshackled' soundbites.

Make NO mistake, Roger Ailes is telegraphing to the world that he is DONE with Palin. He's also giving the red light to others in his 'stable' that it is OPEN SEASON on Griftitia the Grand Witch of Wasilla.

    Ain't life grand?

Notice that he said 'she WAS hot'! Tain't any longer...her looks have faded considerably in the past three years - diet, stress, unhappy, mean, nasty, liar, fraud...it's all catching up w/her there is no doubt.

HuffPo is on the verge of becoming a caricature of itself with headlines like that. Or maybe they crossed that line long ago...

MeAgain wrote that Sarah has a massive inferiority complex about her intelligence, adding that Sarah did not get a college degree. Add that to the Roger Ailes comment.

We knew from the moment that Sarah batted her lashes at Charles Gibson, and said, "In what respect, Charlie?" Sarah did not know what the Bush doctrine was-- the only reason that they could think of to go to war in Iraq.

Katie did not ask Sarah gotcha questions. Sarah thought that it would be a fluffy interview and she wasn't prepared. And, she didn't read any or all of them, either.

I'm sorry to say this to you, Alaska, but Sarah has been faking you guys for years and you fell for it. Sarah couldn't fool the everyone in the lower 48, just those who remain loyal to the Pee Pond. Ailes knew what he was getting. Is Sarah dumb enough to think that she was hired for her political insights and her outstanding communication skills?

"Hot and got ratings". That is soooo presidential.

That must make Sarah smile that a man who looks like a sad baby thinks she's hot. So basically Roger is saying that he would have hired a Kardashian if they didn't already have their own reality show.

    C'mon Sarah---it's a compliment.

There are a lot of people on the internet hoping she runs so that the media hounds can unleash the stuff on her that they weren't able to before.

Sarah- for the good of you and your family, quit pretending you are a politician. You should have opted for a talk-show instead of letting your ego tell you that you were Queen Esther and a kingmaker. You did this to yourself and your family. Ailes is tired of Sarah and expects her to quit soon, anyway.
Also, he's telling the Palin cult not to expect preferential treatment from Fox if she's running for prez.
By saying he only hired Palin for her looks, Ailes is throwing cold water on any future Palin campaign- guy knows how the game is played.

do you really think the media will handle coverage of her any different if she declares a run for president than they did when she was VP candidate? I have no faith in the MSM at all. They will continue to just report what she says, without doing any investigative work on whether she is telling the truth or not. They are afraid of her and her mean girl attitude. Why would she change and not act like a mean girl. It protects her from the media actually vetting her. They are a bunch of chickens, and if she does not attack them, she can send out messages to have her followers do it. None of this will change if she declares she is running. That is how it is with Mean girls and that is why they always get their way and they never change.

Roger Ailes is only the latest individual to admit exactly what those who wanted Palin to be VP or a "commentator" on FOX NOISE saw in her. It's obvious that the men were thinking with their nether parts, which led them to contribute to dumbing down both the political process and serious reporting of news. Just like John McCain, Nicole Wallace, and Steven Schmidt, he has a whole lot to answer for. These people are ethically challenged, cynical excuses for human beings who deserve to be severely censured for allowing such an ill-informed, ill-mannered, incendiary, and narcissistic banshee to be unleashed onto America's political scene.

Roger is letting Sarah know that he is PISSED that she didn't shut the hell up and did that whole BLOOD LIBEL fiasco against his advice. Her ratings just went down from there, and therefore cost him ratings and that's money and money is the GOD for Ailes, so he is making her squirm and humiliating her in the eyes of the world by diminishing her to a sex object for his viewers, feeding into her extreme insecurity of how stupid she really is.

He is gutting her like she likes to gut fish and animals, only he's doing it metaphorically and publicly. This guy knows exactly what he is doing and this has been way too long in coming. Sarah is old news, a has been that will be tossed to the curb sooner than later. She's got too much dirt attached to her and old Rog is starting to be infected by the stench she's kicked up. He'll continue to telegraph his thoughts, through interviews and his troop of pundits, until Sarah is so diminished that out of panic she'll do something so egregious that he can let her go without a huge backlash from the Flying Monkeys.

Joe's book seemed to be the tipping point. Although every drop until then, the Alaskan bloggers, the books from Dunne and Bailey and even Levi, Laura and Brad's chats, Business Insider carrying articles, her own flubs and fails and Bristol's media faux pas, all added to the eventual moment of overflow.

Pretty soon it's gonna be a gusher!

That's all great and stuff but she will never be president anyway so it doesn't really matter. As much as I would love to see her destroyed by President Obama in the general election, its just never gonna happen unfortunately. The GOP will not allow her to be the nominee. They will sit her down and shut her up real quick if they think she's even close to becoming the nominee. And besides, she's just not good enough to be president of our wonderful country. Think about it. We elect winners, not losers like sarah. Remember she's a coward and a quitter; two things that are looked down upon by Americans and make her a big loser in their eyes.

Nicolle Wallace: Mentally Ill Character Is Based on Palin

In her new novel, "It’s Classified," former McCain campaign adviser Nicolle Wallace freely admits that she based her protagonist, a mentally unfit vice president, on former GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin.

In an interview with Time, Wallace states: "She was often withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain’s running mate."

Wallace goes on to say that there were discussions about whether, if McCain were to win the election, "it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in."

Why is this a surprise? Originally, Fox was going to feature Sarah as the star of her own show, Sarah Palin's America. She couldn't get past the first hour of set up interviews. It looked awful. No wonder it never turned out to be a show.

The only way that Sarah could perform is if they sent her the questions and answers in advance. Even then, she does not stick to the script. She really can't. Nobody throws their name in a hat (unless there is a door prize involved). Sarah meant to say that she might throw her hat in the ring. It's not an important slip, but she makes them all the time.

Now Sarah will tell her fans, or what's left of them, that she would run but look at how the terrible media-and-Ailes are beating up on her. Another commenter pointed out that there is no outrage over a really sexist remark. She can't respond. What Roger said was true.

I live in Cold Spring NY. A beautiful gem set in the Hudson River Highlands, an hour north of NYC. About six years ago Ol' Rog and his wife Beth, bought an estate here. Bought the friendly local weekly and, poof!, turned it into a reich-wing rag. Also, snatched up the two other local papers and, well, you get the drift. This bozo brings his ass-hole politics home with him: bullying the mostly democratic village council and democratic town supervisor, and doin' his damndest to turn our blue/red town pure red. A glutton to boot, fits right into Alfred Hitchcock's silhouette. Wonder how many times "hot" $cara had to lick his stamps?

MeAgain has a few more words for us. She's responding to some troll saying she is RAM and to Bristol's post about Track and Trig:

    ---
'Did anyone else watch "Friends" in the 90s?

I'll handle this Chandler Bing style:

Could I BE any less RAM?

I am not someone you would recognize. I have only met Sarah twice and Todd once. I myself am not part of the "inner circle". My source is, reluctantly. I can't explain right now but after 2011 is over I will be able to explain why my source is "stuck" dealing with Sarah and why Sarah doesn't/can't give her the boot. I know it is frustrating that I can't explain right now but once I CAN, it will be crystal clear why I had to protect her identity at this time.

Bristol, I have to give you credit! You are heeding your mother's raging mandate to not be so obvious when you're posting! And the "Trig is out of sight because Sarah wants to prove to TRACK she can do it"? Serious?

I hope you two didn't spend a ton of time on that.

I know your mother tried to force and then bribe Track and Britta to tell the world (and unbelievably, Britta's parents) they had "eloped" in a fit of youthful passion last December and then had a "honeymoon baby". Track shot her down and the only reason those "wedding" photos exist is because your mother tricked everyone and then forced the staged scene.

Track hates her for how she SOLD him as a "combat vet" and did the same to Trig as a special needs child.

It's well known that last year Track was at a certain Anchorage bar/restaurant almost weekly--laughing it up about how paranoid and deranged his mother was. Once he even took out a wad of cash and waved it around asking who wanted a drink "on the great Sarah Palin's dime".

So, no...back to the drawing board, Bristol and Sarah. Even if you WERE trying to keep Trig out of the spotlight, he'd have been spotted at SOME point in the last six months since Sarah has had TLC cameras with her constantly and Bristol has had Bio cameras with HER constantly.

Toddlers need constant care and supervision. When you are highly visible yet your small child is NEVER seen with you or in your home...it's pretty easy to get from A to B.

I've started reading It's Classified. It is so about Sarah. And here's part of an article about Nicole Wallace saying as much in Time magazine:

Nicolle Wallace knows her politics. She served as White House communications chief under George W. Bush and also worked as a senior advisor on the McCain-Palin 2008 campaign. Her second novel, It's Classified, explores what would happen if a woman were plucked from relative obscurity and elected Vice President of the United States — only to find herself completely unprepared for the job. Wallace talked to TIME about the problem with likable politicians, why everyone in the White House eats constantly and her character's obvious similarity to Sarah Palin.

This novel reads like a lighthearted novel for people interested in politics, but it's also a pretty big indictment of how the political process works. Where were you going for with this book?

I was very much inspired by the things that I'd seen and done in politics, but I was also desperate for a complete departure from the reality of my political experience. It's Classified and my previous book Eighteen Acres are both works of fiction, but if they do seem realistic, it's by design.(Read "Music Monday: The Quiet Melodies of Feist's 'Metals.'")

In the book, the vice presidential character, Tara Meyers, is completely unfit for her job.

The idea of a mentally ill vice president who suffers in complete isolation was obviously sparked by the behaviors I witnessed by Sarah Palin. What if somebody who was ill-equipped for the office were to ascend to the presidency or vice presidency? What would they do? How long would it take for people to figure it out? I became consumed by this question.

When you were working on the McCain campaign, what about Sarah Palin alarmed you so much?

Well, first let me just say that the novel is by no means meant to build a case against Sarah Palin. However, to the extent that the people around [the fictional vice president] Tara watched in this troubled state of confusion, despair and helplessness as she flailed around — that was something I experienced. Palin vacillated between extraordinary highs on the campaign stage — she ignited more enthusiasm than our side had seen at any other point — to debilitating lows. She was often withdrawn, uncommunicative and incapable of performing even the most basic tasks required of her job as McCain's running mate.

(See the top 10 fiction books of 2010.)

The decision to relocate debate prep from the campaign trail, which is where McCain did his prep, to Sedona, was to isolate her and help her overcome the shock of becoming an overnight celebrity. There certainly were discussions — not for long because of the arc the campaign took — but certainly there were discussions about whether, if they were to win, it would be appropriate for her to be sworn in.

    Ozymandias Or, Queen of Mean
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear --
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: or, Queen of Mean!
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.'

Why is this person hijacking a dead thread and using it for his or her own purposes? Quite frankly if I was the blog owner I'd be a little pissed that people are reading this old thread and not reading and commenting on the current ones.

If this person has something to say, make a blog; it can be anonymous, just make your own and stop using this old comment section for airing your "news" that's not really news.

Man up (or woman up) and either post on current threads or stop hijacking the blog.

Maybe Ailes is trying to head off another "blood libel" fiasco with Sarah Palin whining about attacks on her children.

Maybe Ailes is hoping to piss off Sarah Palin so she'll break the contract and let Ailes off the the hook.

Maybe Ailes is headed for an intervention... his "hot" "babe" is costing him dollars (which he loves more than his own mother).

Maybe Sarah Palin puppet masters have turned her loose, to twist slowly in the wind.

An abundance of delightful scenarios to choose. October might turn out to be a better month than September, Palin-wise.

(Note: G, any word on the progress of Fred's book?)

  93. Roger has become tired of his pet monkey. She is not house trained and she has embarrassed the network and the ratings too many times. Blood Libelgate and dissing FOX commentators was just too much. When Ailes hired Glenn Beck, his rating were high. When Beck outlived his usefulness and caused problems for FOX, he was axed. Sarah has just been given notice. I think she received a stern warning after Blood Libelgate which she did not listen to. Her erratic and crazy behavior has brought about her end at FOX. There will either be a outraged resignation or her contract will not be renewed.

I'm getting kinda tired of reading a particular quote over and over in this thread, concerning Nicolle Wallace:

"There were discussions about whether, if they were to win, it would be appropriate for [Palin] to be sworn in."

Guess what? Once the election was over, McCain wouldn't have gotten a "do-over." Palin was on the ballot and, if they'd gotten the most votes, would have been duly elected to office. There's no provision in the Constitution for the President-elect to have a change of heart.

Wallace, who apparently knew better, and her boss, McCain, are despicable human beings for foisting upon us the harebrained joke of a politician who is the subject of this blog. I resent Wallace trying to have her cake and eat it too, vis-a-vis Palin. No amount of post-election "discussions" would have kept Palin out of office. Only the wisdom of the American people did.

    Read Palin’s letter here:

    October 5, 2011
    Wasilla, Alaska
After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

    God bless America.

    – Sarah Palin

Gryph, this just in (via the Mudflats) Palin is NOT running for President. She just posted a letter to her
(sap)porters telling them how she can help get other people elected, after careful consideration, blah, blah, blah bullshit...

Hats off to you, sir. You were right! You knew it all along. I thought she was crazy enough to go for it.
But apparently she can't stand to lose one dollar she's bilked out of her blithering moron p-bots.

You are the expert on all things Palin. ;)

IS ANYBODY REALLY SURPRISED THAT FOX IS DUMPING SARAH PALIN?

Todd is getting ready to dump cheating skanky Sarah because she screwed several people including his friends.

Track dumped Sarah for being a terrible mother.

Underage and uneducated Willow dropped out of high school and dumped Sarah and ran off to Los Angeles.

Todd's parents and family dumped Sarah and had nothing to do with her RNC appearance, book signings, Alaskan reality show, SarahPac family vacations, did not appear at Trig's birth or any Palin birth, did not appear at any governor or mayor functions, Todd's family was not at Sarah's governor resignation, and any other Sarah event.

So Sarah, what does this say about your sorry ass fucking life?

You dragged Piper around because she did not have a choice and she hated going on vacations with you and the world witnessed that.

Track never went any where with you.

You dragged Trig around until he wasn't cute anymore.

You dragged Todd around because you had him under contract and if he wanted prostitute money he had to make appearances with you.

Your SarahPac sponsored family vacation was another fuck up, your entire family dropped out and you were left to cancel the rest of the trip because you would of looked like a dumbass going by yourself.

What does all this have to say about your sorry ass life?

Sarah you thought you were so cute and went with Bristol to the mall in Minnesota thinking your name would draw a crowd at Bristol's book signing and nobody fucking showed up! Then what happened? You abandoned the rest of Bristol's book signings like your family abandoned you!

As a mother you had anybody and everybody take care of your kids for you.

Like the song says, "What are you good for, absolutely nothing!"

From Politico: "Asked if she will support the GOP nominee, Palin told Levin: “I have confidence in that. I look forward to supporting our nominee. … Palin will be appearing on Greta Van Susteren’s Fox News show on Wednesday evening to elaborate on her decision....Palin did not explicitly rule out a third-party run for the White House during her interview with Levin, though she said, “I would assume that a third party would guarantee” President Barack Obama’s re-election."

Today is a good day. Everything else is just gravy.

Sarah Palin, former Alaska governor and tea party favorite, announces that she is not running for president, saying, "My family comes first.

Congrats Gryphen and all the other AK bloggers for keeping after this monstrosity and exposing her. I know the blogs were instrumental in her decision to not run.

Sarah was going to lose her Fox show gig and probably thinks this will save it. GOP candidates now have to fear her bus showing up at their appearances.
The bloggers and SNL will have still have plenty of material as SP tries to stay relevant and rich.

Saying she's not running doesn't mean she's not running. She's never told the truth before & I don't expect it now.

She's waiting until the other candidates & their supporters eat each other & is banking on the fact that since she's "GAWD's anointed", when the bloodbath is over, they'll come crawling on hands & knees to BEG her to run and ON the Republican ticket.
