I thought we might class the place up a little bit.

This is from the Kennedy Center Honors reception at the White House.

You can learn more about it at the Obama Diary.

I really appreciate that the Obama's brought class and dignity back to the White House. Those last eight years were reminiscent of the Clampett's moving to Beverly Hills.

The President seems to be to having an especially good time.

He must have seen my post on Mitt Romney.

I'm starting to wonder if its not going to turn out to be the Newt, instead.

Boy, talk about the bottom of the freaking barrel.

I'm so relieved to think that if my retirement money runs out, Newt is likely to be hiring children and seniors for positions such as mowing the lawn or cleaning the toilets at one of his mansions.

What a starke difference to what IMO would be a majority of those 'family values spewers'!!! No comparison!!

It's also December and the Obama Christmas in Hawaii is booked!!

I only know this as I've seen the 'bitching' comments surfacing on articles having nothing to do with the subject. The old bitchfest accusing them of taxpayers paying for the Obama vacation has been rolled out.

If they had brain capacity to retain info, they might recall Bushes huge amount of days at the ranch, Camp David, etc. Oh dear me -- I'm thinking logically again!!!! Delete, delete, damm I can't delete 'logic' from my brain!!

    G.
I take serious issue with the comparison of GWB to the Clampets of Beverly Hills.
Well doggie now.... the Clampets had way more class than all of the Bushies put together!

Sometimes, Gryphen, you are just too much of a smartass. I totally and completely disagreed with our last president and I even disliked listening to the rare comments made by his wife and kids about politics.
But, I think Barbara is a lovely lady and she was a good first lady. I hate to see her or any first lady spoken badly of. First ladies support their husbands and in many cases bring out the best in them.

  7. One of my co-workers has voted Repub all her life and voted for McCain despite her fears that he had chosen a running mate who appeared to be too immature and untested for the job. She has since fallen under the spell of the Obamas, especially the First Lady who she feels is very concerned about others and handles herself with class and dignity even when her detractors criticize for the most petty reasons.

Guess who is pledging to vote for Obama's re-election and feels her husband is leaning that way now too? They have been embarrassed by the constant sniping from the right and feel that much of that is a result of Palin's hard edges and inability to accept defeat with grace.

I have a feeling the current crop of candidates will be influencing many like this couple to take a hard look at where their party has gone.

The Clampets were actually decent people with a quiet dignity.

I'd say it's just nice to have decency back in the White House.

    Good News
    Bad News

Bad news is Sarah Palin is going to complain about the Obamas getting dressed up.

Good news is does anybody actually gives a fuck what Sarah Boys Will Be Boys Palin really thinks?

Sarah needs to get Willow's dumb uneducated ass back into school so she can stop playing house with her uneducated no job boyfriend (no not you Tawd).

Sarah, one cosmotologist in the family is enough. Oh well with two cosmotologists, dumbshit Willow can do retard Bristol's hair and Bristol the hoe can do skanky Willow's hair.

  10. VernD, I agree with you about the Clampetts - they had class, but the Bushes not so much. In addition, the Clampetts were kind and considerate of others. Laura might be, but not the rest of the Bushes.

The First Lady is a knockout. That might be one reason the President's smiling.

i love that you highlight the wonderful classiness of Mr. and Mrs. Obama, but your snark at the past president seems petty.
The Obamas are good enough; they don't need to take down the Bushes to stand tall.
just leave it at the Obamas are a classy couple.

Laura Bush is very classy. Why she married George, I'll never know, as she is way too good for him.

My mother valued class, culture, education and manners. She declared "class is not synonymous with money". I realize the older I get how resentful people are toward people who even value education available to the majority.
Personalities like Palin ridicule what they do not have and apparently chose to pull their offspring down to their level. The sense of entitlement put me off.

I believe America is best served having a leader who represents the dream. Times change and for some getting rich quick and celebrity status in scripted reality shows translates to rich and famous for some. I would chose school attendance over yuks slamming faces in cakes and lies so big almost not to be believed.

Thank you so much for your positiveness (?) towards our President. I listen to alot of progressive talk radio, and there is so much of negative Obama talk and I'm sick of it. I come here, and you show him in a beautiful light. Thank you.

Class to spare. Anyone on the repub. ticket at the present time would be a step WAY down. Too bad the repubs. have no use for intelligent people. It could be that they do realise they are out classed, and they just can not compete so they sent out the bottom of the barrel candidates. All the used up has beens like Newt.

I loved and adored GWBush and his lovely wife Laura. He said he would restore grace and dignity to the Office, after all the bad bad naughty Clinton stuff.
Then he took us to war, put us in the worse shape ever, almost choked on a prezel while Laura sat pretty, smiled glassy eyed on the Sofa in the White House or The Ranch. Just lovely.

The Obama's are pure class, they cleaned up the Bush's mess and actually restored grace, dignity, and respect to the Office.

I think he DID read your post on Romney.

Can anyone picture Calista or Anita as First Lady? lol

My thoughts exactly, had to wait and read all the posts before I mentioned it.

Can anyone, anywhere, imagine Calista (#3 wife) she of the tightly stretched face, plastic hairstyle, and moronic, fixed grin, representing the U.S. as First Lady?

The face, the grin, the hair....never changes a bit.

I think she is some kind of scary robot, and I'm repulsed by the thought of her even being near the WH.
