How dare the LGBT community practice religious intolerance.

There was a time when giving women the right to vote, and doing away with segregation, were looked upon in a similar fashion.

Change is always hard for those who believe the old rules were set in stone and written by One whose will must not be questioned.

    I guess Beyonce's pregancy wasn't fake.

You seemed to use that when it was convenient and then ignore the actual outcome when it didn't suit.

    Sounds about right.

What frightens me is that my own mother (RC) is starting to spread the same nonsense of "christians being oppressed" in Europe. She never told me anything like that under John Paul II. Misunderstood, yes ; oppressed, no.

I think this current Pope we have is very bad news... Fundie rhetorics flourish everywhere. Another one who'd love to do away with the separation of Church ans State. He may come with soft gloves in Europe, but I'm sure he's behind the horrible Frothy Mix (not the best place to be).

When will religious people mind what happens in their own churches, and stop invading our lives ?

When you believe, facts don't matter.

I am a Mormon, and a Mormon just believes.

Lest I need remind you, it is the social justice liberal pains in the ass like me that have been calling for absolute GLBT rights and equality for many years. I'm still waiting for President Obama on this one.

Rick Santorum was recently asked about the pedophilia scandal that rocked the Catholic church

    Guess who he blamed?

You got it, he blamed the LIBERALS in Boston Mass for creating a climate of permissiveness.

    Damn, that's convenient isn't it.?

EVen the hard right Boston Herald
had some nasty things to say about him

Rick, why don't you go home and teach your kids some "family values" like forgiveness, compassion, and brotherly love,
and live your holier-than-thou life in private

  7. If homosexuals can't marry because they aren't able to create life by their sexual union...

What about heterosexual couples that choose never to have children?

What about a heterosexual couple that has one partner severely injured, to the point where sex is not an option?

Women who have had hysterectomies due to medical issues?

Point being, being in a committed relationship is about taking care of each other the very best you can as you make your way through this world.

These people who are so quick to shout about the freedom in America are the same people with their noses pressed against your bedroom window and a lengthy questionnaire regarding your sexual habits.

Why? Well how else can we determine how many of your rights we should take away?

    Ya know, for the children...

  9. Our church is openly welcoming to LGBT and anybody else who choses to come. We have many fine members who came to us because of this, also some fine ministerial staff likewise LGBT.

We believe in the here and now, not what comes after we die. We choose to do what we can to be decent citizens and to be generous to others. Peace and Justice, Open and Affirming - our stands on life. We do our best to be a force for good such directions.

Yes, I'm sick and tired of this bullshit, and the Churches blaming "political correctness" and :::gasp::: Liberals! for their prejudices, hate and fear.

    News Flash

Justice and Liberty for all doesn't apply only to Christians.

I can't imagine a God that makes mistakes.

    Anita Winecooler,
Tarring and feathering all churches for the conduct of the most offensive church going assholes is like blaming all white people for the behavior of the most racist pale cousin humping morons. I am a long time Presbyterian, but we welcome gays, lesbians, and pretty much anyone else. Not all Presbyterians are as open as my church, but most are pretty close. Be careful about blaming all Christians for the sins of SOME assholes.

Then you real Christians need to step up and take a stand against the faux Christians. Tsk Tsking and hanging your head while they spread their hate in the name of Christ isn't cutting it.
