Best First Lady ever? Could be.

Here is the description of this event from the You Tube page:

UNI students Ian Goldsmith, Tyler Wright and Scott Connerley lead First Lady Michelle Obama and 14,000 school kids in Des Moines in the Interlude Dance. Obama was in Iowa to celebrate the second anniversary of her "Let's Move" campaign.

I have to say that I am becoming more and more impressed with Michelle Obama all of the time.

Could you imagine ANY OTHER First Lady being THIS accessible and down to earth?

Tipper Gore would have been cool!

And while Hilary has a more reserved nature, she was terrific in a different way and has had an incredible impact on the world.

    Michelle is very cool too.

She is a gem and must really be having the time of her life. NO, Nancy would have just stood there and smiled her plastic smile. Rosalyn would have moved about and probably Laura too. Could you imagine Calista doing that? Todd as first dude would be teaching the finer points of moving your hips. Anyone that criticizes Michelle is a fool with egg on their face. BTW Huckabee gave some air time to AndyB last night and it was a disgrace. I love it when they pan the audience, middle-aged white men with angry eyes sitting on hidden pitchforks.

Can you imagine another First Lady that ticks off the right so much? I love Michelle, as does most of the country, and that inspires suvh hatred on the right. Look at the GOP wives, and name one that kids could even relate to, let alone dance with.

We are so blessed to have Michelle Obama as our First Lady. I can honestly say this is the best First Couple ever - well, at least in my sixty-plus years!

Callista qould NEVER get this close to young people. Laura Bush was too stiff, snd Barbara Bush would have scared the kids to death!! Hillary knows how to let her hair down, and has a good sense of humor. Michelle is GREAT.

  10. Well, I guess you would have to be pretty amazing for someone like Barack Obama (a pretty awesome guy)

    to be completely gaga-over you,

as Barack obviously is for Michelle.

    So sweet.

Wow. I admire what she is doing.

I wish my knees could do movement as I could do when I was a kid/teen/younger adult. I'd love to be up there bopping around on that stage.

Yet, it's not about me. I totally applaud her and her message.

It's getting off of our butts and get moving. I can still do it. In my own way. I need to do it too.

She is an inspiration to America and Americans. We can all be better and our best.

Can you recall a First Lady in your lifetime that was so hands on with kids and adults too? Not afraid to get her nails dirty. Not afraid to get involved, whether exercising, dancing, gardening, crafts -- as we've seen others stand on the sidelines and watch.

    I don't -- and I love it!!

"Callista qould NEVER get this close to young people."

    -----------

No one could get close unless they have a bio-hazard suit on. That hair -- the chemicals and fumes!!! Hazardous to your life!!

I've watched this youtube several times in the last few days. It makes you want to get up and go! Fun.

Exercise, not only fights childhood obesity, but is great for the mind. Test scores improve with the right foods and exercise. Also, helps mental health problems.

All around, good initiative, for our country's future. Go Michelle!

A few years ago, Dr. Yvonne Butler was keynote speaker in Alaska at a statewide mental health conference. She has been featured on CNN, PBS, etc. She is principal of an elementary school in GA. She turned it into a sugar-free school ten years ago! Other schools have followed.

At beginning of the school day, the music goes on and the kids dance, before they start class.

She has a toolkit for schools to duplicate her program on her website.

Also, too, FLOTUS is not the youngest one anymore - so, what she does, and how fit she is, is even MORE exceptional!

BTW: A young friend of mine is training for a 1/2 Marathon - and she says it is HARD WORK! Her whole gym is supporting her, and all are chipping in to make sure she does get the training she needs! (Contrary to when Grifter-par-excellence 'ran', w/o anyone having seen her prepare for it...)

Unlike Baldy who riles people up with hate...
FLOTUS is getting people moving! And feeling good about themselves...
These kids will remember this 4 ever!
    FLOTUS is doing good!

Screech/Baldy is just a turd on the run.

7:14 took the words out of my mouth. Eleanor Roosevelt.

I do admire Michelle Obama. And comparisons aren't really fair or apt because they are two completely different women from two completely different sets of circumstances and eras.

But even so, IMO, Michelle Obama is currently no Eleanor Roosevelt.

  29. What a classy First Lady! She really is an inspiration! And her message is so SIMPLE!

    Get Moving!

    What's wrong with that?

The women politicians marry says volumes about them.

Will all the issues I have with Obama, and there are many and some quite serious, his choice of an intelligent woman of quality, and the reaction of babies to him are points that actually rate very high with me as they say a lot about Obama the human as opposed to the Obama the politician/games player that the pubic sees.

She's picked the perfect cause, and she lives and breathes it and it shows.
She did the pushups with Ellen and made it look easy
She learned and did this demanding dance perfectly.

With schools cutting out physical education, the arts, and other programs, she's made this her mission because she knows the dangers of inaction, childhood obesity, and diabetes.

It makes sense and saves money in the long run by preventing illnesses, building bone mass, muscle tone, and self esteem to a generation of kids at risk.

I can't see any of the most recent first ladies better suited and able to captivate kid's interest and motivate them by example as well as she does.

    Go Michelle!

    Obama 2012!
