As everybody who watches the Last Word well knows Lawrence has been the lone voice reporting that the IRS should not be giving 501 tax exempt status to ANY of these political groups. And now Darrell Issa's Oversight Committee has FINALLY recognized a truth that might just mean that ALL of these Tea Party groups, and even Democratic ones, will soon lose any tax exempt status.There is a murmur on the internet that I had been poo-pooing, but now I think it deserves some consideration. And that is a kind of conspiracy theory, if you will, that suggests that perhaps many of these recent leaks, the IRS 501 leak, the drone strike leak, the leak about the collecting of AP reporter phone records, the Verizon data collecting leak, might in fact be coming from inside the Obama White House as a way of getting these very touchy subjects out into the media so that they can be discussed and the administration can then be "pressured" into doing something about them.
But nah, that's just silly.
I mean NOBODY could be that far ahead of the curve. Could they?
Well at least one MSNBC host was pretty damn far ahead of the curve. THAT MUCH we do know!

Yes, I think there is a very good chance that the leaks came from the White House. Knowing that Issa and the typical GOP ass clowns don't know when to stop beating a dead horse, it was inevitable that the truth would come out about the discrepancy between tax law and tax regulations. The Obama administration is continually criticized by the GOP for doing the same things that the Bush administration did while Bush was in office.
ReplyDeleteI had not heard that rumor before, but I think that it could at least in part if not whole be true. It's high time we start cracking down on the "non-profits". I know it's too much to ask that they crack down on churches directing their parishioners how to vote, but the basic non-profits would be a good start.

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking the same thing. There were murmurs of these 'scandals' for decades, but now, in Obama's 2nd term, they are out in the open, for all to see. I LOVE that the GOP is walking into the net on spying. We have been concerned since Bush's Patriot Act about that. Come on, GOP, shut it down. We don't care who is President; it is wrong. And you will NOT pin this on Obama..he is following the law you loved under Bush and Reagan. So bring it on. And bring on the rest...Obama can survive, and the US will be a stronger nation when you idiots realize what needs to happen..end the Patriot Act. End Citizens United and get all that dirty money OUT of politics. Yes, our President is a master chess player...
