Remember today is the day of America's Last Stand. (Well the ignorant, paint chip eating part of America anyhow.) Update!

So today's the day that Sarah Palin, Judge Jeannine Pirro, Rick Santorum, and Allen West, attempt to rally the over fed undereducated folks that make up the Tea Party base.

There will be plenty of raw meat thrown out into the toothless crowd, piles of word salad, and of course deep fat fried bullshit.

According to their Facebook page the venue is set up and awaiting their D-list guests.

America's Last Stand Final set up for tonight's show is almost complete, Sarah Palin has arrived in Knoxville as have the rest of our Very special guests! John Michael Montgomery's bus is about 30 minutes out, and everything is being put in place. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, come out and get them as soon as possible as we have a limited number still available, you don't want to miss this FANTASTIC show, heck even CNN is here, along with FOX News, all of the local television stations, as well as the folks from Breitbart.com, Radio 94.3, and Q100! Doors open for the show at 4:30, but if you still haven't gotten your tickets be sure to get here early!

Let's see, star spangled stage all set up? Check!

A rather pathetic number of Chinese manufactured padded chairs for broad American butts in place? Check!

Sarah Palin in the back stapling her roadkill wig into place? Double check!

Tickets all sold out? Uh.....well....maybe not quite a check?

At least not according to a post a few days ago.

SPECIAL OFFER FOR FACEBOOK FANS ONLY! Buy one, get one FREE tickets! Use code "Palin" at check out.(Offer for GA & VIP Only)

(I believe "GA" stand for general attendance.)

Now maybe I am misreading this, but if you are offering a two for the price of one sale, that does not exactly sound like it is standing room only at this event.

And after what just happened in Mississippi one has to wonder just how enthusiastic the conservatives are about a rally right now. After all there really is not much to celebrate.

(By the way speaking of Mississippi, that son-of-a-bitch is still refusing to concede.)

I don't know how much this JL Production. Inc. and Seveir County Tea Party folks are paying Sarah Palin, Judge Pirro, Rick "Please don't Google me" Santorum, and Allen West in speaking fees, but it looks to me that it is very unlikely they are going to break even.

Which is really kind of pathetic if you think about it.

I mean at least during Custer's last stand there were a substantial number of attendees.

I mean sure they massacred Custer and his men, but at least they bothered to show up.

Update: Concerning the attendance.

It does not sound like they were anticipating too many to show up.

Update 2: And here she is. Such a fashion icon. Don't you agree?

There are still tickets left....and isn't this after they already moved it to the much smaller venue ?

And let us not forget that the venue was changed from a much larger outdoor stadium to the indoor venue. It was said the change was made due to rain, but I checked the weather and there is no rain today.

The real reason for the change is fairly obvious: Sarah is not packing the stadiums anymore. Kind of like a rock star having to play the Holiday Inn. Fame is fleeting Sarah Palin. How is that working out for ya?

Chris McDaniel can stomp his feet all he wants. There is no recourse in Mississippi except for a court of law. They don't do recounts down there. And by the time the case comes up, everyone will have forgotten about this sore loser.

Suck it up McDaniel and face the fact that a whole lot of black folks thought you were a whole lot of crazy and got their butts down to the polls and voted (and they didn't vote for you).

Cochran Vs. McDaniel: The Winner And The Whiner

...To make a long story short, the strategy worked. And now McDaniel and his supporters are acting as if what went down in Mississippi was some sort of dirty trick.

...But the question they really should be asking themselves is this: Why didn't they do the same thing? Why didn't they attempt to start a conversation with potentially persuadable voters? It's not like black voters in Mississippi are radioactive. It's not like there was some barrier in the way of McDaniel making his own case to those voters. As near as I can tell, the McDaniel camp just saw those voters as irrelevant at best, not deserving of a conversation at worst.

...Did the McDaniel camp not have Internet access? Do they struggle to read words? The strategy to win the Mississippi primary is right there. What stopped them?

At any rate, now McDaniel and his supporters are left to howl about how they had to pay the price for their unforced errors, whining about how Cochran managed to exploit his history of constituent service and willing engagement with different voting blocs to win the primary. It's an unseemly end to an unseemly primary, but the simple fact of the matter is that the better politician won. And to be honest, it seems to me that the better man won as well.

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/26/mississippi-senate-race-mcdaniel_n_5534593.html

The better man won. No kidding. And it becomes more and more apparent by the day. Not to say that Cochran is any great shakes, but the other guy...frickin' terrifying.

OK. I take that back, that was rude. Likely it's a big deal for those who attend, or else why attend. But, there appear to be mighty few attending so better to say this "sparsely attended" event instead of non-event.

Let's say they sold 500 tickets. Even if one gives a generous average ticket price of $75 they would bring in 37,500. Even at $100, they'd get only about 50 grand. Now get the calculators out and divide the 'pot' among the 6 top 'headliners'. Ooooh, After hall rent and poster design costs these stars will be raking in 6 or 8 thousand each.

Now, had they been able to sell all those tickets at the $1,000 Gold level, they'd be talking some real walking-around money. Somehow I suspect not very many of those special Gold tickets got sold.

Please read today's NYT article about the black Mississippi Baptist minister, George Lee, who was the first of his race to register to vote, in the 1950s, since Reconstruction. His efforts to get others to register led him to die in a mysterious car accident. Even though he had lead fragments in his head, the coroner refused to let him be autopsied.
His county, overwhelmingly black, voted for Thad Cochran on Tuesday. Cochran may look and sound like an old plantation owner, but McDaniel definitely was the voice of the Citizens Council that killed Rev. Lee, and their brothers, the KKK.

It just really galls some of these far-right white conservatives in Mississippi that African-American voters made a difference in one of their elections. Didn't Mississippi finally ratify the Constitutional Amendment abolishing slavery a year or two ago too?

And tell me, Sarah, how do you suggest that people "not have kids." Contraception? Abortion? Adoption? I don't think that Sarah should say anything about how to raise children considering that her own daughter, Bristol, was simply hopeless and admitted that Tripp ruled the roost, and always got his away. Funny, Mellisa Rivers gave Tripp a chores chart and he was fine after a week. Too bad that no one told Bristol how to raise her child. OMG, what was Sarah saying???

By the way in the1950's moon pies and RC Cola were a popular working man's lunch, it was a southern thing both made in Georgia. And here's another gem of wisdom from the MILF or Moron I Would Like To Forget, she asked if people have seen the price of meat lately and says her meat is wrapped in fur! so much cheaper to hire a hunting guide and go first class as only Queen Esther can do.

And last but certainly not least [ there apparently is no bottom to idiocy folks] she states "God doesn't drive parked cars" brilliant I tell you! what it means i'm not sure but it certainly ranks up there with Plato and Aristotle, truly a philosopher of our times is Miss Sarah. 74. Did you read the comments after the article? Interesting perspective on the tickets and attendance copied and pasted from the feedback:

Just FYI all, total "paid" and "pre-sold tickets" to this event stood at 390 as of late yesterday afternoon.

Now, if 1200 to 1500 attended this event as one poster states... then someone ensured that the house would look full by hosting the event in a small room and/or by begging folks to attend at no cost, etc.

Bottom line, the event was a huge failure when the estimated attendance was to be 10,000+ and only "several hundred" (about 400) paid to attend so that is a good and accurate description of the attendance number(s).

Again, a huge waste of Sevier County/Sevierville Taxpayer money and time!

Know why the attendance numbers are all over the place? Because promoters gave away hundreds of free tickets so as not to make the rally appear as poorly attended as actual sales would have proven. Here is a copy of an email my wife received with just such an offer. You will note the title of the email advertises the event as more of a concert than a political rally. I have redacted some names and telephone numbers for obvious reasons:

Subject: Opportunity to see John Michael Montgomery & Jon Secada

    Hello,

The Radio Station XX.X FM has given (name of civic organization) 10 tickets to see the former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum and other conservatives at The Sevierville Convention Center 202 Gists Creek Rd, Sevierville, TN 37876 for an event titled “America’s Last Stand.”

The former Alaskan governor and presidential candidate will be joined by former New York judge Jeanine Pirro and one-time congressman Col. Allen West, who both now contribute to the Fox News Channel. Country artist John Michael Montgomery and Cuban singer Jon Secada will provide entertainment.

The event is sponsored in part by the Sevier County Tea Party.

Tickets for the Thursday, June 26 6:30 PM event range from $49 general admission seats to $1,000 VIP Gold access that includes a dinner and meet-and-greet with the guests.
