Mike Huckabee is "utterly disgusted" about gay marriage. Gay marriage responds with "Right back at ya buddy."

Courtesy of Raw Story:

On the Saturday edition of his show following the Supreme Court’s decision not to reverse decisions that struck down same-sex marriage bans in five states, Huckabee accused Republicans of allowing judicial activism.

“I wonder sometimes, do we still teach civics in school?” he asked. “Several governors and other elected officials reacted by saying, ‘Well, that’s it. That’s the final word.’”

“Horse apples!” Huckabee shouted. “The Supreme Court is not the supreme being!”

The former Arkansas governor noted that he held “the same view that President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Joe Biden held just until two years ago, that it was inconsistent with nature and nature’s law.”

“But the biggest issue is the betrayal of our Constitution and the surrender to a small group of unelected black-robed jurists who can’t make law, nor enforce it,” Huckabee added “Now, if you believe that men should marry men and women should marry women, then get the people’s representatives to vote for it, the chief executive to sign it, and then have the courts agree with it.”

“I’m utterly disgusted with fellow Republicans who want to walk away from the issue of judicial supremacy just because it’s politically volatile,” he concluded. “Here is my advice: Grow a spine, show a modicum of knowledge about the way we govern ourselves, and lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.”

As I am sure many of you have surmised I am contractually not allowed to agree with Mike  Huckabee. And if I get caught doing so they take back my "I'm a Liberal" punch card and then I have to pay full price for my Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks.

However I am going to risk it by agreeing with Huckabee that the Republicans running for office in this election cycle really need to make opposition to gay marriage a prominent part of their campaigns, and they DEFINITELY need to include it in every one of their TV ads.

I mean it is already a plank in the Republican platform, so why not "grow a spine" and use it to rally the base and show the voters that you and your party are still stuck in the middle ages even though it is 2014?

Seriously, what is more important? Winning elections, or sticking to your principles even in the face of overwhelming support for something which makes your pastor cry?

(P.S. My laugh can't be heard on the internet, right?)

P.P.S. By the way our Governor, Sean Parnell, is essentially taking Huckabee's advice and is planning to challenge the Federal judge's ruling that the Alaska marriage ban is unconstitutional:

“As Alaska’s governor, I have a duty to defend and uphold the law and the Alaska Constitution,” Gov. Sean Parnell said in a press release. “Although the district court today may have been bound by the recent Ninth Circuit panel opinion, the status of that opinion and the law in general in this area is in flux. I will defend our constitution.”

To be clear, Parnell has no problem with National Guard troops sexually abusing women, but two women getting married? Well THAT'S just immoral.

Two hucksters, Huckabee and Parnell are so "small" government, they're ready to dictate who can love who, when and how. While hypocrites have 1st Amendment rights, shouldn't those "rights" stop at another person's bedroom door, hoohah, or winkie?

They obviously do not understand the difference between church government (which is entitled to tell, or suggest to, its members what to do) and public/state/federal government (which is not). It is as though the Constitution never existed to them.

Parnell is AGAIN using taxpayer money and he will lose in the end.

What is wrong w/Alaskans in voting in that jerk? Remember, Parnell is up for reelection and needs to go back to private life and the oil industry!

Good luck with that Parnell, Idaho tried the same. It lasted two days until the appeal was shot down again.

The cons have no problem when the Sup Ct rules in their favor - but get faint when it does not.
I posted somewhere a day or so about people googling Mike Huckabee Skeletons in the Closet. There are a few tidbits there that are quite amazing.

As I was reading some of the comments it occurred to me - Huckabee is not so different from Palin where their families are concerned. Huckabee has some real losers in his family - but he keeps them hidden. On the other hand - Palin parades hers in front of the world. The similarity is how they have both raised dysfunctional children. And yet - both would deny it to their graves.

Mike - the supposed Christian that I've caught in lies on his radio show.

He's the typical Republican - elderly, obese and a pain in the ass. I would never vote for the guy if he actually did run for POTUS (which I sincerely doubt he'll do!).

Huckabee (R) and Parnell (R) are full of Santorum (R). Your laughter was drowned out by everyone else's, including mine. My only concern is the effect their heterosexual marriages have on gay marriages.
For example, has anyone heard of married homosexuals renting a blinged up stretch Hummer, piled the family in on a mission to crash someone else's party?

You know, aside from this topic, he's a pretty balanced man. I person's opinion on it doesn't make them bad. But saying "disgusted" takes it to a new level.

People evolve in their own time. Just because "grandpa" in Northern Mississippi is still racist doesn't make him a BAD person persay. It's all he knows.

No one should ever be judged.

wiki on Huckabee's opinion of abortion:

Mike Huckabee is strongly opposed to abortion, including in cases of rape or incest. He has stated that abortion should be legal only when the life of the mother is at risk. He believes that it would "most certainly" be a good day for America if Roe v. Wade were repealed.

Huckabee would make a raped child have the baby. I am quite comfortable thinking that is disgusting. You have no given no valid reason to think otherwise.

      Dear Mike,
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other specific laws and how to follow them.
      1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord -- Lev. 1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
      2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
      3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness -- Lev. 15:19-24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
      4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
      5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?
      6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination -- Lev. 11:10-- it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this?
      7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?
      8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
      9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
      10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? -- Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Your devoted disciple and adoring fan.

      @ 4:01

Actually, I have to politely disagree with you. "Just because "grandpa" in Northern Mississippi is still racist doesn't make him a BAD person persay. It's all he knows." If he is never exposed to anything besides racism, then your statement is essentially correct. That's called ignorance and is correctable - normally.

But, come on. In this day and age, only someone with his head up his ass has not been exposed to the concept that racism is NOT a good thing. And that makes it STUPID. Stupid people are a major part of our current problem in this country.

I agree with your statement about judging - to a very limited degree; when a person does not judge, that person should not be judged. But racism and all the ideology that goes with it is one of the most massive examples of judging you might ever experience.

Your attempt at reason is quite nice, just way off in the logic department.

Anonymous 4:01: OF COURSE a person's opinions should be judged. Are you saying that Hitler's opinions must be considered just as valid as the Founding Fathers' opinions, because that was all the Nazis knew????

well then you should apply that same logic to the person Sarah steals from...butt butt...then my cash cow is gone...no more tit to suck off...besides dicks...

  12. Uh, Governor Parnell, the law is not in flux. The Ninth Circuit has ruled and the Supreme Court has denied review. Further challenge would be a waste of taxpayer money and not fiscally responsible. Apparently conservative values only extend to the bedroom.

Just one imaginary being. Go figure. How low must your self esteem be to have some imaginary guy decide everything for you.
Oh wait, not for YOU, no for THEM.
Because there's money to be made out of fooling THEM!
Period. A fake, a scam. The Jezus in their own bible would toss them out and possibly even kill them. Yes, you read that right.

As a recovering Roman Catholic (and current agnostic) I always want to ask these evangelicals:
    - do you take the old testament as truth? ('cause if so, slavery and having many wives and all kinds of violence is ok. But if they take that book, then they sin by eating their little shrimps and lobsters, dressing the way they do etc.)

    - or, do you take the NEW testament as truth? If so, Jezus didn't say a damn thing about same-sex love, however he was quite clear about his disdain of the sin of greed, lust for power and general hatred of others.

The bumper sticker saying 'what would jezus do' is actually quite on point. But none of the evangelicals would look at Jezus like that.

Truly, it's quite puzzling to me.
