Speaking of stories finally getting national attention, somebody finally noticed that Don Young claimed to have killed a man.

Courtesy of TPM:

It is suddenly a bit of an open question whether the last person to touch Rep. Don Young (R-AK) somehow ended up dead.

Earlier this month, according to the Alaska Dispatch News, Young's Democratic challenger Forrest Dunbar said that he had put his hand on Young's arm backstage while they were talking before a debate.

“He freaked out. There is no other way to describe it," Dunbar told ADN. “He kind of snarled at me and said, ‘Don’t you ever touch me. Don’t ever touch me. The last guy who touched me ended up on the ground dead.'"

A radio station employee who was backstage confirmed to ADN that she heard Young, 81, saying "something about the last guy who touched me, blah, blah" to Dunbar, who is 30.

So what's up with that?

Well Roll Call wondered the same thing, so they asked him:

He’s flouted ethics rules. Twisted a staffer’s arm. Even allegedly threatened a life, telling his Democratic challenger this fall that the last person to touch him “ended up on the ground dead” — a fact he told CQ Roll Call there was “some truth” to.

Okay enough is enough. If this old son-of-a-bitch is going to openly admit to committing murder and law enforcement both in Alaska and Washington D.C. do nothing about it what does that say about justice in this country?

How hard is it for the state troopers, the D.C. police, or the FBI to walk up to this old fossil and simply ask him #Whodidyoukill?

I'm going to guess that if he's forced to answer, it will be an enemy combatant he's speaking of. He did mention that he served in war, right? That will get him not only off the hook, but will make him a darling of the fanatical war-mongers.

    1. No Young did not serve in a war.

He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957, so he was in the military between the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Besides he said "the last guy who touched me ended up on the ground dead." And we already know that the last time some guy touched Don Young was NOT over sixty years ago.

      Nice try though.

Maybe it was in Reno, just to watch a man die. Don does look like the sort to rip off Johnny Cash.

Gryphen @2:52- I'm not sure what "nice try though" means, but I'm not trying to excuse that senile old fool. I just remembered him making mention that he served. And that he might try to use it.

Guess it's time to call his bluff. He is either a liar or a murderer.

From everything already available on videotape, why isn't this old geezer, at a minimum, being examined for Alzheimer Disease?

The guy is an asshole. I've lived in Alaska for years and have never voted for the jerk. The native population is what supported him initially. His deceased wife was Alaskan native.

He'll get his one of these days!!! Time for someone to deck him when he becomes foul mouthed! Way past time to let him have it!

Ignorance will kill us all. The nurse with NO COMMON SENSE chose to fly all around the country after she had a fever..

@anon at 3:59pm, no a nurse who may have been exposed was told by her employer it was okay to continue on with her trip.

3:59, you also have to remember that she first flew before the other nurse was diagnosed, as well.

O/T: Bristol vs Malala for the Nobel Peace Prize

"Two bright young women dominated headlines late last week. On the same day that Malala Yousafzai, 17, won the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, Bristol Palin, 23, was cited in an Alaska police report for getting drunk at a party and punching her host "multiple times."

Bristol Palin's "heavily intoxicated" behavior had already prompted her famous mother to release a statement describing her daughter as "one of the strongest young women you'll ever meet." Sarah Palin went on to praise Bristol's "work ethic and heart for those less fortunate."

Sounds like the Nobel Committee gave that Peace Prize to the wrong gal. "

    [snicker]

Then Jezebel goes on to line-item compare the young females based upon their memoirs and interviews. Delicious. :) Even the photo comparison is right on.

Yon Dung has never been anything but a bully. Everyone knows bullies are Nature's cowards. Look at the people he picks on - young, virile men who never hurt an old fossil like him any more than they would hit a defenseless child.

Yon Dung picks on women, too. He will be loving the idea that folks believe he might have killed a man.

yeah that is the rumor in the interior...

they need to stand up and toss him out like a tater tot he has become...

that is the problem with folks like this...everywhere!

they are humble and eager to please when they are a peasant among us 'mortal's'...

when they attain power and pull a few stunts and get away with it? they push the envelope and become arrogant...

that is when 'what goes up must come down' plays...

so it's a matter of time...they all fall down in the end!

The native population in Alaska needs to no longer support Don Young! He is not their friend as he has no influence any more in the U.S. Congress and cannot provide them a damned thing!

Why is it the Republican men in Congress and across the country are white, older, moon bellied, angry, self serving, egotistical, blowhards, racists and nasty in personality?

Personally, I'm getting real sick of them and their antics! Time for many changes in the November elections!

    Speaking of asshole Republicans...

Only this one masquerades as *not* GOP

Chuck Todd Takes A Beating In Facebook Chat

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/chuck-todd-battles-facebook-trolls

(and he's pretty much a dickhead on any questions that nail him, acting like they aren't 'serious' questions and only trolling and when he does answer he's snide, sarcastic and not particularly knowledgeable.) And he DIDN'T like being called out on his cheerleading for the GOP, of which he does, while pretending to be neutral, of which he isn't. He's becoming more and more distasteful every time I see him.)

Chuck Todd should lose his new job. Isn't his position suppose to be non-partisan? Suspect he's grown a big head and feels entitled with his newly found position.

Don't expect to see him around very long! Which won't be soon enough!

Don Young the killer, bully and asshole from Alaska serving in the United States Congress!

What is wrong w/Alaskans electing the likes of Don Young, Sarah Palin, Sean Parnell, Frank Murkowski, and Lisa Murkowski? They've really picked losers!!!!!!!

    1. There have been good politicians in Alaska. I can think of Ernest Gruening, Wally Hickel, Jay Hammond, Mike Gravel, Steve Cowper and Nick Begich (father of Mark) to name some past ones, both Democrats and Republicans.

5:52 PM I agree with you about Jay Hammond, Ernest Gruening and Wally Hickel, but that is all. Mike Gravel had a terrible reputation! Plus, I very much like Senator Mark Begich and hope he is reelected in November.

Alaskans have also picked some pretty awful folks that included Frank Murkowski, Lisa Murkowski, Don Young, Sarah Palin, Sean Parnell and Ted Stevens!

'The good people of Alaska want to talk about the issues, not some esoteric inside-the-Beltway process story about whether their representative in Congress murdered somebody.'

From the article. The writer is making light of murder.

    2. I don't see it as making light of anything but Young. I saw it as all good-of course Alaskan's want to talk about the issues! But I also saw it as it's not just "inside-the-Beltway" crap and getting national attention. But, I'm from Georgia, with a huge affection for Alaska ,all my life, don't know why-never been there.
