Darren Wilson has resigned from the Ferguson Police Department. Gee, really?

Courtesy of HuffPo:

The white police officer who killed Michael Brown has resigned from the Ferguson Police Department, his attorney said Saturday, nearly four months after the fatal confrontation with the black 18-year-old that fueled protests in the St. Louis suburb and across the nation.

Darren Wilson, 28, has been on administrative leave since the shooting on Aug. 9. His resignation was announced Saturday by one of his attorneys, Neil Bruntrager. The resignation is effective immediately, Bruntrager said.

Nothing at all surprising about this. After all how could this man ever be expected to walk the streets of Ferguson as a law enforcement official after this.

Or walk down the street at all actually.

And why should he keep such a low paying job, rife with the possibility of further interaction with people who so desperately need to be shot, when he can get paid simply to spin his tales on television?

Courtesy of Got News:

A NBC source with knowledge of the #DarrenWilson interview talks said that ABC offered to pay “mid-to-high” six figures for the interview.

The source did not say an exact figure because NBC stopped bidding for it after ABC upped the ante.

Mid-to-high six figures, that sounds somewhat north of $500,000 doesn't it?

Quite a bump up from what police officers typically make, isn't it?

Well perhaps Wilson is looking for a more lucrative job providing analysis on some cable new outlet or something. Hmm, I wonder which cable news station would be so unscrupulous as to hire a man who just may have shot a young man to death in cold blood?

By the way Wilson characterized his decision to quit the Ferguson police force as "the hardest thing I've ever had to do."

Yes so much harder than gunning down an unarmed teenager in the streets. Right?

I smell a ghost-written best seller that will be hailed by the gun lobby as the seminal tale of life in the 21st Century and how Wilson is a hero for standing up against "the Demon."

I hope the guy has good security (for which he can now afford to pay!) because I'm sure he'll have people after him in the manner in which he killed the kid!

I'd not want to be walking in his shoes as I'd be scared to death of what lies ahead! He is going to want to stay off the streets for a long time to come!

    1. If he was as scared as a 5yr old facing the "Demon" he could see, while armed, I imagine he'll be scared shitless by the demons in the shadows wherever he goes, that he can't see.
Hope it destroys what's left of his life.

    2. How do you know Wilson is guilty for shooting Brown? Has it even occurred to you he might innocent? I'm not defending Wilson for shooting Brown because I haven't heard all the evidence the Grand Jury heard.

    3. m baker, and you never will hear all the evidence. That's the whole point of the rigged grand jury produced by the Prosecuting Attorney. There won't be a trial with cross-examinations because, there won't be. And there won't be any trial for Michael Brown because the defendant is dead. So we'll never know whether he was a malicious Hulk Hogan or just a stupid 18 year old doing what stupid 18 year olds do.

    4. Again, making an assumption for something you know very little about? Prove to me the Grand Jury was rigged. How do you account for the blacks who testified and gave the same testimony Wilson gave?

Wilson doesn't need a job. He has over one million dollars now from people sending him money and from what he got from ABC. If he invests it wisely, he can live off of the interest.

So true. I cannot believe the amount of wingnut welfare this guy has generated for killing a teen. Just because he was too terrified to do his job properly. What a sad loser.

Anon 11:33 am, his friends and supporters made no secret of the fact that they had raised considerable amounts of money in support of him. It was widely reported in the news so if you google it, you can find all the links you want.

He'll need all the money he can scrounge to pay for the civil suit he's going to lose.

I hope the Brown family files a civil suit and wins every penny - and then some - of that blood money.

But first, I hope the DOJ files civil rights charges against him and he goes to jail.

Unlikely to be a civil trial. Michael Brown's past criminal history and his parents dirty laundry would all be fair game. Can't ruin that choir boy image cash cow.

"Unlikely to be a civil trial. Michael Brown's past criminal history and his parents dirty laundry would all be fair game."

I was moving then getting settled and didn't keep up on all of the Michael Brown, Ferguson news. What is Michael Brown's criminal history?

What do Michael Brown's parents' history have to do with anything?

I personally don't like the fact that our victims need to be perfect. Michael Brown wasn't a gentle giant. The convenience store video showed that clearly. But that doesn't mean he should be shot dead in the street.

Liz it has long ago been established that you no nothing about everything. And plenty of commenters here know it. Dippy. Yes, in a civil trial all Mike Brown's criminal record could be brought to light, as well as his parental and family issues if it bears on the case.

4:23, are you referring to Mike Brown as a victim? He was an adult criminal that assaulted an officer, struggled for his gun, double backed and charged the officer again, and was shot dead. Mike Brown is no victim.

  6. It might just be me, and it may not be fair, but if they were casting for one of the deputies for a remake of "In the Heat of the Night",this guy looks like a perfect fit right out of central casting.

I grew up in the South and we used to call guys who looked like him "Cletus", as in "check out that Cletus, his family tree must be a straight line", or alternatively "check out that Cletus, I bet he's his own grandpa".

Maybe the $carahPaymeChannel "news outlet" could hire him to provide commentaries.

Oh wait, that's not a real actual legitimate television station. It's just a loser place for the Ol' Pretend Human Being to spout her demented word salad.

'Course, since the $carahPaymeChannel is a loser AND losing endevour, that may be perfect place for ex-officer Wilson.

Hey, EX-office and EX-half-term-quitter-governor - a match made in heaven!

I've seen a TON of comments that begin with "I ain't no racist or nuthin'--but that black bastard had it comin'."

So, my reply has been along the lines of:

Its so easy to sit in our warm comfortable homes, waving a hanky with one hand, sipping a mint julep with other, and tut-tutting about the problem with "the culludz."

Blaming the citizens of Ferguson for reacting to one of their own being gunned down while unarmed.

But the buck stops with who is taking the buck:

Millions of taxpayer dollars have been paid to a long line of people whose job it is, to "MANAGE" such situations. From the Ferguson police chief, up to the state governor, a massive failure to do a proper job, means those millions may as well have been flushed down a giant toilet.

If I was the governor of Missouri, knowing there are huge numbers of people scrapping plans to visit that state, I'd have my head hung down in utter shame.

(Instead, I heard he found a way to say its not anyone on the taxpayer tit in Missouri who is at fault, but somehow, OBAMA's.)

I'm sure the news station that picks him will hook him up with a ghostwriter and book deal. Good luck with that. I'm sure there are plenty of good cops with guns who somehow feel slighted by your actions. Get that blood money while it's still warm. Hard to count those bills when the blood clots them together.
Seriously, do these people have consciences? How can they look themselves in the mirror? And no matter how "good things get" for them, they'll be looking over their shoulders. Bad Karma is relentless and has a long memory.
