The conservatives expect us to stay home, the pundits expect us to fail our representatives, and Koch brothers have spent a fortune to convince us that we are wasting our time and the election is already lost to us.
I want to prove all of them wrong.
How about you?
I really do hope, Gryphen, that the American voter is smarter than to hand over the Senate to the GOP. But, what we from other countries have seen coming from the U.S. is a whole lot of ignorance & fear and open hatred for one of the best Presidents you've ever elected (twice); so it wouldn't be surprising if the Party of regression has convinced uninformed Americans to cast their vote for them. A depressing thought, indeed.
ReplyDeleteI know most of you who read here know this, but your elected Congress critter or Senator is not a talking head on FNC! No, there are there to help you! Most peeps in Red States don't have HC or very many Social services. You should. That's why you need to VOTE BLUE.
DeleteAnd if you do you have a Congress critter or Senator that will help you if you need help or Social services instead of promoting a agenda of Kocks, ALEX, ROVE.
Also the NEWS is not the news. The only news that may be relevant is NPR. And NPR is marginal since our stupid congress is always threatening to defund them. Turn the TV off, listen to online Shows like our Friend Kenny Pick or Stephanie Miller show. Watch movies, stuff on netflix or you can find most everything online.
Vote BLUE! Happy Election Day IM'rs!
Lets turn the country BLUE!
Ignorance also comes in the form of assuming that people who vote differently than you are all ignorant or dumb.

Really?
Tell us how voting for REPUBLICAN is a good thing?
There is a saying "Friends don't let friend vote Republican"
smh
7:38, how about brain washed? Huh?
DeleteAnyone who votes for a modern Republican needs their head examined.

Thanks for proving my point 8:04 and 8:10. Ignorance at it's finest.
Delete8:44, my comment right here is not about approving or disapproving what you said or what 8:04 and 8:10 said. My point is more of a question: How can TWO comments that ask questions - regardless of the questions - prove your point? TWO? Really?
DeleteFacts are facts and lies are damned lies and the problem with being indoctrinated by right wing media is that one loses any realistic perspective, so thank YOU, Troll, for further proving our collective point:8:44.
DeleteAwe Aragon- first to throw out the first "Troll" comment.
DeleteThat make you feel all important on the internets?
Get yourself a bowl of ice cream and celebrate!
Leland, no problem.
DeleteBoth 'questions' or comments preclude the possibility that anyone voting republican might actually be informed, intelligent, and/or feel their interests better served with a republican (or maybe independent) ticket. That is ignorant.
If you need further proof, just go read right wing blogs, they are saying the same thing about Democrats.... Can both sides be right?
Being independent- I actually think when the voting drones do nothing but vote the party line, that both sides might be right about the other.
@10:24
DeleteNow you are just being silly and completely ignoring MY question.
How can you POSSIBLY claim that only two points of examples can PROVE your point. ANY science teacher - even someone teaching FIRST GRADE SCIENCE - will tell you it just doesn't work that way.
I will repeat what I originally said: "my comment right here is not about approving or disapproving what you said or what 8:04 and 8:10 said." You have completely ignored what I set as parameters.
I don't give a damn about your original statement (although I have to agree with it)!
HOW CAN TWO REMARKS PROVE YOUR POINT?
Leland, I have polled every 1st grade science teacher in the nation, and 95% of them agree that you might be getting overly worked up over semantics.
DeleteIf it makes you feel better, the word 'display' or 'exhibit' could be exchanged for 'prove'.
Of course you would have to generally understand and/or agree with the first statement in order for that to be meaningful, which you did, even though you don't give a damn about it.
And you STILL haven't answered the question!
DeleteLeland, the question is moot.
Delete85% of sex ed teachers agree your continued beleaguering of your silly point, that has been addressed above, is non-sequitur and getting boring.
Nope. Just fed up with those who are selling us all down the river to benefit the likes of the Kochs. Anyone who would support those who are doing their bidding are doing real harm to this country and its citizens.
DeleteM
I have shared this with all of my FB family! Today is the day we die-hard Democrats have been waiting for (contrary to what the Rethugs believe)! Let's take back our country from those that will do it more harm than good - VOTE!
ReplyDeleteDontHatetheGame
Sent in my absentee ballot two weeks ago!
ReplyDelete-Oz
I'm really tired of the media/conservatives telling Americans that the Republicans are going to win the races across the nation, that the blacks, browns and Asians are not going to turn out to vote, that the U.S. Congress will gain Republican majority in both houses as well as Republican governors are going to win across the nation!
ReplyDeleteBasically, I'm sick of Republicans and the fact they could care less about the poor, are trying to control the voting process across the country and have far too many old, white guys in the U.S. Congress. We need term limits, new, young faces with fresh ideas!
I so enjoyed voting (absentee) and marking my ballot for everyone that was NOT a Republican!
Darn straight! Vote-by-mail here in Oregon, ours were sent in October 18th and not one Republican marked.
DeleteI wish that whichever politicians are elected would remember that they are representing ALL the constituents in their districts. I'm so tired of seeing Koch 'hos licking the boots of their buyers.
ReplyDeletethey are representing ALL the constituents in their districts. I'm so tired of seeing Koch 'hos
Delete***
That IS the problem! They are being paid off by KOCKS and that push their agenda ONLY. Remember when Congress was paid by taxpayer only and had to actually HELP the constituent? That's why we need to Vote blue and get the dirty $ out of politics.
On the front page of our local paper today is an AP article about the huge expenditures in this election's Senate races. Mitch McConnell is quoted about how awful a situation this is. Is Mitch worried about being defeated this time around? If he is (as I fervently hope) he'll whine for years about all that money that went to a Democratic candidate. He'll never mention all of the Koch money and insurance company money he's taken over the years. He'll just complain about all of those out-of-state women who supported another woman battling for all of us.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
What is he whining about? he was the biggest spender
DeleteDone and done! Proudly wearing my "I VOTED" sticker!
ReplyDeleteAnd not a repube check on my page! Further, whenever there was a race that had no Democrat running, I voted for ANYBODY else beside the repube.
I am pretty nervous about Wendy Davis losing and pig castrator winning.
ReplyDeleteI am in a heavy dem state and I will vote but I fear for the results.
So many people are just too apathetic. They don't understand there are very real consequences to voting - and not voting!
People were JAILED to get this right!!!!!!
Gtf off your butt and vote!!!!!
How could you be nervous about Wendy Davis losing? It has been generally accepted she was a lost cause many months ago, never stood a chance at all. She lost before she even started.
DeleteSo many people are just too apathetic. They don't understand there are very real consequences to voting - and not voting!

They are not educated. I was talking to my brother in OR they have the Legalize Marijuana and he says the feds will never change the laws? I said if we had a congress that wasn't a bunch of assclowns they could change the law! He was like, well I don't know....
and he doesn't! He believes what CNN and FNC say. He has no clue about how all this works.
All people who Vote should have a basic class in how our system works so people understand our Congress are not elected to be talking heads on Fox news! They are supposed to help and do what their constituents want, not ALEX or The KOCKS!
I have to add the trolls smh here! UGH! These ignorant voters believe that OBAMA controls everything!?
I've had one person tell me Obama should "Do" something about the Homeless? WTF do you want him to do? "Well 'something" (smh)
It is the job of the Congress to pass laws to help people but they are not. CNN & FOX news blames OBAMA for everything, like he is a fucking dictator!

RILLY?
Funny I just heard on a radio show she is doing VERY WELL!
You must listen to FNC.
You poor thing....
bless your heart.
Yeah well, 8:07, being realistic and using ones brain regarding the obvious conclusion to a race doesn't require listening to FNC, or to be republican etc...
DeleteGet back to me tonight so I can point out what a dipshit you are and laugh in your condescending face.
8:07 Wendy Davis isn't a lost cause. People like you want others to think that so they won't vote.
DeleteYou better get nervous because Wendy may just win. You are obviously scared--and is that you Sarah?
You got me 9:31.
DeleteI am Sarah, Sarah Palin and I am totally obviously scared that Wendy may win.
"People like you" are so smart to figure all that out.
I'll be sure to tip back a beer at Wendy Davis' big win tonight because she is such a lock, thanks for setting me straight.
Yours truly, Sarah Lou
When I wrote at 9:31, I meant that to be directed at 7:35.
DeleteOuch 8:07 AM, ouch. By over 20 points. Ouch.
DeleteWhat radio station is it that you listen to anyways that gives you such accurate info? 90.7 DMFK?

Well 'cause stoopid sarah said so!
She is from the pees right? DUH....
There were all those marines at Valley Forge.

As a woman, I'll credit feminism for my right to vote.
DeleteI vote at the National Guard Armory, now it all makes sense ;-)

DeleteI told every liberal I know that the time change meant that voting was held on Wednesday.
I hope they heeded my advice.

Yes, the pee pond really is that stupid, or don't mind looking so. Hence, their "queen."
Palin is just a nasty thinking person. And she's tacky, too.
Delete8:38. The media doesn't report about Palin and her 'screeds' because she is unimportant and irrelevant. It is not due to any Koch media conspiracy you are dreaming of. Understand this.
DeleteI just got back. Here in Virginia, Mark Warner was a comfortable 9 points ahead of Ed Gillespie, but I wanted to throw my vote on the pile anyway. It would be on my conscience if I hadn't.
ReplyDeleteI went in first, then came back to the car, put my husband in his wheelchair, and took him in to vote too. I couldn't help notice; there were plenty of old people on walkers who made the effort. That's why, I think, we get so many of these insane right-wing conservatives. The old and infirm will get out and vote their fears, but will the young get off their asses and vote their hopes? If they did, in no more than a decade, we would destroy the teabaggers, and put the Republican party on life support.
Ahhh, the Old Dominion! Have traveled back to VA from AK twice in two months, for funerals. Only stayed two days each time but can't wait to get back next fall for a real two week vacation during the fall colors.
DeleteI heard on the radio this morning that they're expecting 53% voter turnout in my county today. That seemed very high for a midterm, but I'd be thrilled to find out that it's true.
ReplyDeleteI may be only one vote, but I did my part to get to that 53%!
Come to think of it, I work in a school which is a polling place, and our parking lot was pretty full all day with voters, even during the work hours. Maybe the predictions were right and there will be a big turnout today.
DeleteI voted up here in NH this morning. I always vote no matter what the polls say.
ReplyDeleteI did the phone thing this am and drove people to and from the polls all afternoon. I was shocked at the turnout this time around! It gave me hope that democrats have really been paying attention. Most of the "car talk" was against the gop, and there WERE choice words for "They came to party and left without their shoes and sunglasses"
