New plan for the newly elected Republican majority in Washington same as the old. Stop Obama at every turn!

Sen Jim Inhofe.
Courtesy of The Hill:

The GOP is preparing to mount a full-scale assault on President Obama’s regulatory agenda, using the party’s strengthened hand in Congress to delay, soften or block contentious administration rules at every turn.

As long as Obama sits atop the executive branch, Republicans’ power to derail scores of rulemaking efforts now under way is limited. But control of both the House and Senate in the next Congress will enable GOP lawmakers to ratchet up their attacks on what they view as overzealous regulation.

“So long as we have this president the federal agencies can go around Congress," said Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) "But we can make it very, very difficult for them."

Inhofe, who is poised to become chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, is certain to take a leading role in the GOP push against regulations at the center of Obama’s climate action plan.

Critics of Obama’s regulatory policies are likely to look to the Congressional Review Act (CRA), which allows lawmakers to disapprove of regulations that have already been finalized and stop them from going into effect.

Inhofe, for instance, says he intends to push such a measure against the EPA’s newly proposed ozone rules, which manufacturers say could cost industry $270 billion in compliance costs during its first year alone. However, the president would have to approve such a measure, which is highly unlikely.

In a nutshell the President is pushing policies that will save lives, while the Republicans main concern is to save money for their benefactors.

Oh and by the way this last October was the hottest on record

You know I try and I try to explain to people the importance of voting in these midterm elections, but so many simply do not understand how much ground we lose when the Republican gain power.

It is critical right now to continue moving forward to explore green energy alternatives and move away from fossil fuels as quickly as possible, and these asshole Republicans simply refuse to acknowledge that fact.

We absolutely need to start preparing for 2016 now. We need to make sure that all Democrats are able to vote and not wait 2 weeks before the election to find out some have obstacles that can't be overcome in time for the election.

One little item from Inhofe's incredible life story:
    "Taxpayer-funded travel
Inhofe has made multiple foreign trips, especially to Africa, on missions that he described as "a Jesus thing" and that were paid for by the U.S. government. He has used these trips for activities on behalf of The Fellowship, a Christian organization.[85] Inhofe has said that his trips included some governmental work but also involved "the political philosophy of Jesus, something that had been put together by Doug Coe, the leader of The Fellowship...It's all scripturally based." Inhofe used his access as a Senator to pursue religious goals.[86]"

Meet the new assholes, same as the old assholes.

Do these freaks really think that ANYBODY any where will ever treat them with respect or take any thing they do or say seriously? What's good for one is good for all. Right nasty old white boys? It's past time to play by your own damn rules. No respect. No civility. No manners. No honor. You give none, you get none.

My biggest fantasy is to scream, YOU LIE!! to every damn one of their faces, after I eat a garlic sandwich.

That's just scratching the surface. Inhofe and his party got their power from those Democrats who thought it was too much of a hassle to get up off their butts and vote. When they wake up and realize they handed their power directly where it shouldn't have gone, they'll be the first to whine and stomp their feet. Here's an idea, vote, get politically active and use your power every chance you get or you'll get the government you deserve.
We take everything for granted, there are countries that would LOVE nothing better than a democracy.

  6. Most people I know care about the kind of world their children and grandchildren will have to live in. I don't know why it's so hard for those people to figure out. So discouraging.

People can worry all they want about what kind of world their children and grandchildren will inherit but really that worry would have been better placed about 100 years ago, before you or I were even an egg in an ovary in a woman that was not yet born. Now is not the time for worry, now is the time to prepare your grandchildren for surviving in a world and an environment that might be very foreign to what they know now.

It's too late to turn things around at this point. Climate change is happening and will happen until 2100 at least, even if we change things now. There will be increased famine, in first, second and third world countries. There will be reliance on manufactured nutrition sources once the farms fail and there is no fodder for meat animals. For a while people will be able to sustain a certain level of health eating the food that we used to feed to our feed animals and then when that runs out things will get real for another 1/4 of the population. Already, by 2050 the reduction in protein sources will have taken most of the stragglers in the third world and will be moving into the second world to kill off millions with hunger and resulting disease and diminished brain capacity to solve problems. By 2075 the first world will see an increase in infant mortality to 30% due to lack of food and clean water. By 2100 we should be down to 3 billion people worldwide, which is a reasonable population for the earth's resources to support. Hopefully people will have learned their lesson about overbreeding and destroying the atmosphere and climate by then, but I doubt it. By 2500 I'm pretty sure we'll be as overpopulated as as dumb as we are now in 2014.

It's time the left put up as much of a bitch and moan fight to the republicans as they press their voters to do!

I mean it. They publically ask their base to call anywhere and everywhere, be it public elected offices, radio stations or tv media to also commenting on internet blogs.

They have this complaining and bitching fear mongering down!

We need to push back and do the same. All of us. Which means they need to hear our voices. It means we need to listen to their bullshit, from their sources and let them have it, hard!

No more nice talk, hit them hard like they hit us.

Just a heads up Gryphen.....it sucks to take the effort to type a comment to your blog on an ipad, only to have it disappear and not be posted. You may want to look into that, it may be why you have few posters.

It's not just iPads! I have had at least 8 disappear. SOME I have been smart enough to make a copy of so I can re-try posting.

For the time being, I will simply read and only once in a heat while try to post something. BTW, it wasn't because of the anti-robo set-up, either. I've lost stuff since.

      @3:29

Yeah? What makes you so sure it's user error? And neither of us said a thing about it being Gryphen's fault. We merely suggested he needed to look into it!

I can't speak for 7:29, but I have been posting here for almost two years and NEVER had this problem show up until AFTER that damned anti-robot thing showed up.

And about that user error? Explain to me how it COULD be when I do exactly what is requested and type in the requested info and I get a message saying my comment will be visible when approved? I have accidentally typed in the wrong info and gotten a totally different message!

Please don't ASSume we are idiots, please.
