Today's Trump dump. (All things Trump in just one clump.) Update!

"Sure I'm obnoxious. But you're all still talking about me aren't you?"
Do you know how sometimes things start off kind of fun, but after awhile you just want to bang your head on the wall to make it stop?

Oh, what am I saying? We have been covering Sarah Palin for over seven years, of course you do.

So my favorite bit of Trump news was the incredible Rick Perry smackdown:

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has already emerged as one of the GOP presidential field’s most vocal critics of Donald Trump, ratcheted up his rhetoric again Wednesday as he slammed the real estate mogul’s presidential bid as a “cancer on conservatism” and warned that, left unchecked, Trump could be the demise of the Republican Party.

“He offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued,” Perry charged during an address at the Willard Hotel in downtown Washington. “Let no one be mistaken: Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded.”

“Donald Trump, the reality television star, is a great generator of ratings. But Donald Trump the candidate is a sower of division, wrongly demonizing Mexican-Americans for political sport,” Perry said. “He has piqued the interest of some Republican voters who have legitimate concerns about a porous border and broken immigration system. But instead of offering those voters leadership or solutions, he has offered fear and sound bites. This cannot stand.”

Okay that was pretty satisfying.

I'm sure many of you remember that Trump suggested that Perry should take an IQ test before being allowed onto the debate stage, and in fact used Perry as a barometer to suggest that Lindsey Graham was even dumber.

Speaking of Lindsey Graham, he released this video in response to "The Donald" giving out his cell phone number.

Marco Rubio also piled on, but he flubbed the shot by also insulting President Obama:

“I don’t think that the way he’s behaved over the last few weeks is either dignified or worthy of the office that he seeks. We already have a president now that has no class," he said.

Bullshit, the man has more class than can be found in the entire Rubio family.

In other news Trump finally released his actual financial-disclosure report. (Kind of.):

The document, released publicly by the government agency Wednesday, provides an unusually detailed look at the range of the magnate’s holdings. But the disclosure is unlikely to stem the ongoing debate over Trump’s net worth.

Last week, Trump claimed that his net worth for 2015 had reached more than $10 billion. There is no way to corroborate that figure from the document, which requires candidates to list assets, income and liabilities only in broad ranges.

So yeah, we still don't know exactly how much this asshole is worth.

The good news in all of this is that it appears that Trump may have peaked and according to PPP his numbers are likely to level off or even go down from here on.

Even after Trump is finally finished, which I think may not take place until he gets his time on the debate stage, you just know that certain GOP candidates are going to be kissing his ass in the hopes that he does not savage them, or better yet agrees to endorse their candidacy.

Which means that this idiot is going to be a political force in this country for years to come, whether we like it or not.

Update: Big surprise Trump is lying about his net worth

I am enjoying this election season so much. It is just astounding how things are playing out.

      Indeed.
One wonders if there is ANYthing Trump wants or cares about, apart from attention, which he is getting in spades. With Palin, TPTB could yank away the money and trust that she would fall as flat as her chest without the Belmonts. I mean, sure, she makes some noise, but precious few people care anymore, and she clearly isn't running...for anything. If she had been a more intelligent, less psychotic human being, she could have been reined in if they'd tossed her some sort of ceremonial bone. Trump, however, is his own backer, and one can't imagine he's gunning to be Secretary of Commerce or something (nor that anyone would offer him that sort of position). Not much left except to strive to be king, and/or strive to be loud.

Third party run! That screws the Republicans who have treated Trump horribly. I can't help but think it would serve them right. They've been a mess now for years as to their leadership and direction.

And, then we'd get to welcome President Hillary Clinton for sure in 2016.

Look at all the time and money Republicans have spent bashing Hillary Clinton - as well as the media who is also now stating all over the place that Hillary's polls are down, down, down and she might not make it into the primaries! They wish!!!

Jesus H. Christ, do Republicans really think the electorate majority to be retards? Remember, they did (both times!) when President Obama was elected and just could not believe the results. Hells bells! They still don't believe he is POTUS - to include Mr. Trump! (Remember his birth certificate issue as to President Obama? What a joke!)

      Fuck their party!

      Love this the best:

"Trolls are skilled at taking advantage of this landscape and making the news cycle feed on its own tail, accelerating the feedback loop and producing particularly large bounces and busts in the polls. In 2012, Gingrich’s whole strategy seemed to involve trolling the media, and he went through a couple of boom-and-bust cycles in polls. In 2008, Sarah Palin, though beloved by Republicans, was brilliant at trolling Democrats and the media. She was extremely popular at first, although her popularity was ultimately short-lived."

The clown car of Republican candidates are doing as much idiotic stuff as they can to be recognized so they may make the top ten for the debate on FOX.

I could get kicked off this blog, but there are things about Trump I like. He has everyone talking that is for sure! No other Republicans answer questions straight on - they all say basically the same thing (bash President Obama, etc)! They are rehearsed and told what the conversation points will be!!

Rubio was an ass saying what he did about President Obama. President Obama wasn't even part of the conversation for Christ's sake. The kid is too young, immature, inexperienced and in over his head as a presidential candidate!

I can hardly wait for the debates. Trump is too smart and too well educated not to be prepared for them. He'll either go down or not - will be interesting to see.

This has gotten so ridiculous CBS evening news is doing a new segment called "Keeping Up With The Republicans" .

The first episode featured The Donald reading out Ms. Lindsey's phone number with the counter video of Ms. Lindsey destroying his cell phone.

While they value the Miss USA and Universe pageants as 0 and his suit brands at $128 million, every little bit hurts.

I'd say his worth is less than the $4.1 billion they estimated a month ago. And dropping by the day.

Shit! I'd love having a net worth of four billion!!!

I especially enjoy the fact Trump is paying for his own presidential campaign and won't be beholding to anyone.

Which is not at all like the many candidates in the Republican clown car. They are ALL bought and paid for!

The lobbyist and some corporations must be so frustrated with Trump. They are paying the big bucks to get the media out there with all the negative about Trump. He is driving them bug fuckin' crazy! Fun to watch as they aren't prepared for this type candidate!

Vote as many Republican folks out of office that you can folks! Across the nation, in your states and communities. They have done nothing but spread hate, fear, evil and nastiness for the past ten years!

Thank you President Obama, VP Biden and your Administration!

  9. Perry wants to 'excise the cancer"? Excise is a kind of tax which isn't something he generally promotes. He probably meant 'exorcise' which is a religious term for getting rid of evil spirits, not a way doctors generally treat cancer.

Perry's use of this word was correct. Also, the verb IS generally used to describe removal of a cancer.

No, you're mistaken on this one. Perry (or more likely his speechwriter) is using the term correctly; his tool is plenty sharp on this one (pun intended :-D).

"Excise" has multiple meanings, including the following:

      ex·cise
      ikˈsīz/
      verb

      cut out surgically.
"the precision with which surgeons can excise brain tumors"

      synonyms: cut out/off/away, take out, extract, remove;
      technical: resect
      "the tumors were excised"

GOP, Not Media, to Blame for ‘Weaponizing’ Donald Trump

The GOP Only Has Itself to Blame for Weaponizing Donald Trump

...The GOP can blame the media all it wants, but the party has no one to blame but itself for weaponizing Trump. It subsidized and encouraged the market for what Trump is now selling. Now the Republicans’ only really hope is that Trump will blow himself up, Herman Cain style. Maybe he will, and he certainly has no chance of getting the nomination no matter what he does. But in the meantime he can keep wreaking havoc. Nine other GOP candidates were onstage at the Ames, Iowa, forum last weekend where he trashed McCain, and no one remembers anything anyone else there said unless it was in response to Trump. The same may well happen at the first national debate on Fox News on August 6, which is likely (because of Trump, and much to his delight) to be the highest rated primary debate in history.

Rupert Murdoch Wants to Stop Donald Trump, But First He’s Got to Rein In Roger Ailes

The mounting problem Donald Trump poses to Republicans is also a mounting problem for the country’s most powerful conservative media mogul: Rupert Murdoch. This morning’s New York Times gives front-page treatment to the billionaire grudge match that has become a major story line in this year’s (already) fractious GOP primary. The piece by political reporters Amy Chozick and Ashley Parker chronicles Murdoch’s intensifying efforts over the past week to blunt Trump’s surge to the top of the crowded GOP field. In recent days, Murdoch has tweeted that Trump is “wrong” and “embarrassing.” On Sunday, the New York Post mocked Trump on the cover with the headline “DON VOYAGE” and featured him marooned on a life raft being circled by a shark. The same day, The Wall Street Journal ran a scathing editorial that labeled Trump a “catastrophe.”

New PAC wants to fire Trump

A new political group has a message for Donald Trump: No, you’re fired!

The Let’s Fire TRUMP PAC filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to create the political action committee on Wednesday that turns Trump’s famous catchphrase from his time as the host of NBC’s “The Apprentice” back on him.

In order to follow FEC rules that only allow a candidate’s name to be used in an authorized group, the filing notes that TRUMP is an “acronym of Terrible Radicals Undermining Middle Class People.”

Why Donald Trump Truly Terrifies Republicans
It’s not just the threat of a third-party challenge

In years past, Republicans didn’t think of Trumpism as a liability so long as Trump was outside the tent pissing further out. When Trump was busily whipping up reactionary sentiment, indulging birther conspiracies, Republicans didn’t see a “jackass”—they saw an opportunity. They recognized his appeal to a segment of white voters, and concluded it could be put to good use, so long as he marshaled his followers into the Republican electorate. They didn’t call him a media creation back then—they sought his endorsement.

Trump is now inside the tent, pissing everywhere.

Republican voters want Trump as their nominee, but choosing him to represent their party would be akin to political suicide. Trump trails Hillary Clinton 50-37 percent in a head to head match-up. He also trails Bernie Sanders 47-37 percent, making him by far the weakest Republican candidate surveyed, when pitted against a Democratic opponent.

The PPP poll also found that if Republicans choose not to nominate Trump, he could still inflict fatal damage on the party if he decides to follow through on his threat to run as an Independent candidate for president. For example, in a three-way race between Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush and Donald Trump, the Democrats would win in a landslide. In that hypothetical match-up, Hillary Clinton polls 43 percent, followed by Jeb Bush at 25 percent, and Donald Trump at 23 percent.

Republican voters find Trump’s demagoguery appealing. By a 49-36 percent margin they hold favorable views of the bombastic billionaire. However, American voters in general view Trump negatively, with just 29 percent seeing him favorably compared to 61 percent who dislike him.

...Donald Trump operates in a world of absolutes: A world of right and wrong; a world of winners (him) and losers (McCain, Perry, etc); a world of put up or shut up (literally). Trump's world is colored in black and white. There ain't much grey. And what does Trump get for speaking out so boldly without holding back? Public ridicule.

Now, think of conservative evangelicals. In their quest to champion biblical values, their mindset is much the same. It is a world of absolutes. They believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of God. Non-negotiable. They believe there is only one way to heaven and that is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Non-negotiable. They see the world through the lens of spiritual warfare (good vs. evil). And what do evangelicals get for speaking out so boldly without holding back? That’s right: public ridicule.

You see folks; Donald Trump and evangelicals are breaking bread together because there is this common bond that I just laid out above. They like his boldness. They relate to him because when they've been bold about their faith they get blasted too. It's a kinship in a strange sort of way.

I almost lost my lunch when Rick Perry gave his evangelicalesque homily about Donald Trump. His cadence and tone was almost like Ornstein, whomever wrote his speech knows the target audience.
Rubio, what can I say? Go gulp water or something, it's free!!! but don't dare compare President Obama in any manner with Trump, don't even use his name in the same sentence, President Obama;s shed dead skin cells with more substance and brains than Donald Trump could ever dream of buying.
The best was his speech at the wall. "Many Many people, waving flags shouting my name and voicing their support after my private jet landed" Andrea Mitchell reported something close to , "meh, not even close to a hundred" ,
He wore a cap with "Make America Great Again" on his toupee'. We all know how his hair tries to secede from his scalp on windy days. Yeah, Don, build that fabulous wall, and make mexico pay for it.
This guy is even better than herpes, he's single handedly got his nose up the GOP's collective nostrils, while they shit their pants wondering who's next on his hit list.,he's the gift that keeps giving to the Democratic Party.

Third Party? Brilliant Idea. Go for it!!!

I love how the GOP has created this monster and perhaps because of this twisted support they continuously display for "the donald", will subsequently destroy whatever remains of their party. Trump tis merely a wealthy celebrity. If this is their candidate (bwahaha), the President Elect will be a democrat...think Bernie '16.
