Mother of soldier slain in Benghazi attack literally blames Hillary Clinton for the death of her son.

For me this is what set the tone for the first day of the GOP convention.

Right before Pat Smith took the stage former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell spoke and he was similarly hyperbolic.

However Smith's anguished condemnation of Hillary Clinton used "weaponized emotion" to attack the Democratic nominee in a way that I don't think any of us have seen before at a national convention.

It was ugly, misinformed, and incredibly unfair.

Hillary Clinton has been thoroughly investigated by no less than nine investigative committees, most of which were led by partisan Republicans desperately trying to find something to use against her in the 2016 election, and not one of them blamed her for any of the deaths in Benghazi.

As for her claims that Clinton blamed the video in private talks with her, Politifact looked into that and found that her version did not necessarily jibe with other family members, but even if true did not mean that Hillary would have been purposefully lying.

However this Pat Smith has been a frequent guest on Fox News and other Right Wing media outlets where her charges against Clinton have grown ever more aggressive and emotional.

Having her speak on the first night of the convention is a clear sign that Donald Trump is prepared to go after Hillary in the ugliest and nastiest way imaginable.

There is a lot to mock with this GOP convention, but we should not ignore the level of rage and and outright hatred toward the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton that is felt by many of its attendees.

My condolences to the Smith family. Pat Smith strikes me as a person who is caught up in the attention her story has garnered. She must embellish and alter it, to keep the spotlight on it. Whenever a story changes or grows as it is repeated, it is usually becoming a fable.

That woman was 'used' by the Republican Party and the Trump campaign and she's too stupid to know it!

The fact she came out - after all these years - and publically blamed Hillary Clinton for the death of her son is beyond belief! I feel zero remorse for her at this particular point in her life.

She is full of total bullshit as is the Trump campaign!

Did she not see the results of the numerous republican led congressional investigations. Oh, that's right, folks like her just discard what they don't want to believe and slurp up the oligarchical propaganda they want to believe. She's the GOP base. Dumb as a stump.

The Thuglicans lined her up for the convention long before Benghazi investigation was finally concluded, but that doesn't matter at all. It's still unfinished in this poor dimwit's confused and aggrieved mind, and no body will tell her any different. They prefer her to be ignorant.

Lawsuit Charges Donald Trump with Raping a 13-Year-Old Girl

In late April 2016, rumors began to circulate online holding that Republican presidential Donald Trump had either been sued over, or arrested for, raping a teenaged girl. One of the earliest versions of the rumor was published on 2 May 2016 by the Winning Democrats web site, which reported that woman using the name Katie Johnson had named Trump and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein in a $100 million lawsuit, accusing them of having solicited sex acts from her at sex parties held at the Manhattan homes of Epstein and Trump back in 1994 (when Johnson was just 13 years old):

That being said, I think Pat Smith would really benefit from grief counseling. She has every right to grieve for her child, but anger like that eats you up inside. The RNC’s First Night Proves Republicans Are Dividing America, Not President Obama

We’ve heard it time and time again. Everything is President Obama’s fault, not his vile, racist, xenophobic haters.

But before anyone with half a brain entertains that idea any further, look at the first night of the RNC. It was a disaster, we all know. Chaos broke out, Republicans stormed out and threw their credentials, Never Trump delegates staged protests and challenged the rules.

But what was even more telling was the vile, racist (blatant and latent) and divisive comments that came from a slew of speakers and representatives:

    (LIST)

...The next time a republican wants to accuse President Obama and the democrats of stoking racial, divisive sentiments, just show them reruns of the first day of the RNC.

In only seven hours, the Republicans successfully demonized (multiple times) anyone who wasn’t a white, male, Christian conservative. It must be a new record.

Ambassador Stevens was responsible for her son's death, plus the deaths of two other loyal, brave men. He received an email telling him to stay in place and hunker down on 9/11. His RSO advised against his 'going to the office'. Too bad, sad, he didn't pay attention. JMO, the RSO should have the final word on diplomatic corps movements, ambassador or not.

    I'm probably wrong to say this . . . but . . .

While I feel VERY sorry for the lady whose son died at Benghazi, he knew what he was doing.

He signed on with a "CIA contractor" -- translation: a company that provides mercenaries. He was making a bundle of money -- $130,00 to $175,000 a year with the first $72,000 tax free, plus bonuses and benefits. He knew he was going into a dangerous place

I was an infantry platoon leader in Vietnam for 9 months at which point I was medevacced with wounds. Eleven of the soldiers in my platoon were killed in those 9 months. After I was able -- and it took me three years to do this -- I visited the family of every one of those 11 soldiers. Some of them were drafted, some enlisted, The pay for an infantry private first class was a princely $155.10 per month.

Her son volunteered for a job that paid 85 times what my soldiers made. I have only so much sympathy.

How about next week at the Democratic party convention the people in charge get Chris Stevens' family members to talk about him and blame the Republicans in Congress for cutting the funding for security? Tell the audience and the millions watching on tv to vote them all out since they don't do anything anyway.

This was the low point for me. They know damn well Hillary could do nothing to stop it. Where were they when the mother of a dead soldier just wanted to meet with GWBush? Crickets chirping then, but now it's Hillary's fault.

"Hillary Clinton has been thoroughly investigated by no less than nine investigative committees"

Darrell "Dimebag" Issa is confident that one more THOROUGH investigation will prove that HRC is the most corrupt presidential candidate/former First Lady/former senator/former Secretary of State since the Earth began 6,000 years ago.

  57. Hillary has less blame than this woman does.If she had stopped her son from joining the military,it wouldn't have happened.

I don't actually feel that way,but it makes just as much sense.
