Thank you to Bob Woodward who said, "That is a garbage document...it never should have been presented...Trump's right to be upset (angry)...— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 15, 2017
This is in response to Woodward's appearance on Fox News today when he said this:about that...Those Intelligence chiefs made a mistake here, & when people make mistakes, they should APOLOGIZE." Media should also apologize— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 15, 2017
You know I think most of us have great affection in our hearts for Bob Woodward based on his work on Watergate.
But these days he seems more and more to be drifting away from his journalistic roots and closer and closer to the kind of conservatism that I think would horrify his younger self.
And the fact that he voiced these comments on Fox News is not lost on me either.
No, if the intelligence chiefs owe ANYBODY an apology it is the American people for not doing more to let them know that Donald Trump was Putin's bitch well before the election.
If they had done that perhaps we would not now be facing the inauguration of a thin skinned man child, whose arrogance and impulsivity threatens our national security and the future of our country.
Speaking of thin skinned impulsivity, Trump also just tweeted this:
That's right folks. Your future president is allowing himself to be trolled by a late night comedy show..@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 15, 2017
As for Bob Woodward perhaps he should take a look at this before he decides that the intelligence agencies are being unfair to Donald Trump.
And this is only what we know so far.Every time I think we've captured all the Trump-Russian links, a new one pops up–need a Wikipedia like effort on this @Parsifalssister pic.twitter.com/uoX6zPrZhC— Adam Khan (@Khanoisseur) January 13, 2017

You want to send someone after me? Pack a lunch, prepare to stay all day, come heavily armed, have your life insurance paid. Write your name and address in indelible marker on your torso so I'll know where to send the remains.

I wouldn't be surprised if loyal American CIA agents talked about not taking a bullet for Comrade Trump.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet they detest Trump's anti American commentary concerning them!
DeleteFuck the asshole! So many throughout our country know he'll never represent them. I predict it won't be long before we hear the cries for his impeachment throughout America!
I am wondering, how the Secret Service is feeling about taking a bullet for him, when he insists on having his own private goons all around him ON TOP of the Secret Service...
DeleteI worry for the long-time employees at the White House. The same people work there through multiple administrations but I fear that the newcomers will never trust them.

The 'long time employees'.... You just nailed the problem with lazy entitled government workers right on the head, and you didn't even know it.
DeleteYou hear that you "lazy entitled" housekeepers and gardeners?
DeleteThe Republicans think you should, um, work for a dollar a day picking cotton or strawberries? Who the fuck knows?
I don't even think they know what they're talking about. They just repeat dumb crap they pick up on Limbaugh or Fox.
Personally, I think every White House employee from the gardener to the Chef to the housekeeping staff should all quit en masse. Let the White House be empty when the Drumpf circus arrives.
You feel justified attacking the honest men and women who have worked in the White House for years if not decades...why, exactly, 832a?

No CIA or SS or any gov agent gonna take a bullet for him b/c they know he deserves it!
Woodward long ago gave up any semblance of impartiality.
ReplyDeleteHe's trying to get in right with the Trump crowd early on, so he'll get some special access and be able to come out with a best-selling book by this time next year. He's in it for the money and nothing else.
That's right. Every time I see him on TV is so so anti- whoever the Dem is that's being talked about, especially the Clintons. And it's Fox where I usually see him. Bernstein is tough on Hillary but he is fair, and when he said what he did for CNN re that dossier story last week, it provided credibility.
DeleteWoodward lost my respect when he came out with his book the Obama Wars, insinuating that Pres. Obama had started the wars in Iraqi and Afghanistan.
DeleteI noticed that during the campaign. He seems to have forgotten how he got his big start - with Watergate. By the time that Trumpgate gets underway, Woodward will be in too deeply with the folks at Trumpland that he'll never be seen as credible again.

It is surely a hallmark of declining mental faculties, that formerly intelligent and sensible people get nuttier and nuttier, and veer more and more to the right. As a person becomes addled they are less able to process new information, and therefore less able to cope with change...and critical thinking skills go out the window. When the degeneration progesses to a certain point, voila, the Tea Party gains another member.

DeleteI noticed that.
Its really bad we have so few journos.
Watching Rachel last night and she is fucking brilliant! I can only imagine if she wasn't muzzled at msnbc!
Trump seems confused by the difference between NBC News and NBC Entertainment. And why is he attacking either one while attacking one specific program? Simply to lay the groundwork, once again, for lack of trust in one network or one news outlet or another. He does it constantly, consistently, in his tweets, in his news conferences --the failing New York Times, CNN, NBC, etc. So that, in the end, the public is supposed to only trust one news source: Donald Trump.
ReplyDeleteNah, he's not that smart. His widdle fee-fees are hurt, that's all.

The last two paragraphs tells you that Trump tweets has power
ReplyDeleteWashington Post
Trump warned Republicans that if the party splinters or slows his agenda, he is ready to use the power of the presidency — and Twitter — to usher his legislation to passage.
“The Congress can’t get cold feet because the people will not let that happen,” Trump said during the interview with The Post.
Trump said his plan for replacing most aspects of Obama’s health-care law is all but finished. Although he was coy about its details — “lower numbers, much lower deductibles” — he said he is ready to unveil it alongside Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
“It’s very much formulated down to the final strokes. We haven’t put it in quite yet but we’re going to be doing it soon,” Trump said. He noted that he is waiting for his nominee for secretary of health and human services, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), to be confirmed. That confirmation rests with the Senate Finance Committee, which has not yet scheduled a hearing...
“We’re going to have insurance for everybody,” Trump said. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us.”
People covered under the law “can expect to have great health care. It will be in a much simplified form. Much less expensive and much better.”....
Moving ahead, Trump said lowering drug prices is central to lowering health costs nationally — and will make it a priority for him as he uses his bully pulpit to shape policy.
When asked how exactly he would force drug manufacturers to comply, Trump said part of his approach would be public pressure “just like on the airplane,” a nod to his tweets about Lockheed Martin’s F-35 fighter jet, which Trump said was too costly....
https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-vows-insurance-for-everybody-in-obamacare-replacement-plan/2017/01/15/5f2b1e18-db5d-11e6-ad42-f3375f271c9c_story.html
The "power" of the same Twitter that is struggling with the weight of fake news and disinformation attacks from paid Russian trolls?
DeleteTHAT Twitter?
Trump has a health insurance plan like he has 20 lawsuits against his victims.
DeleteI sincerely hope the wingnuts believe him, they deserve to.
Traitor orange toad.
Delete"We're going to have insurance for everybody"
DeleteSingle payer healthcare...hmmm...maybe Trump's a Democratic plant, and not a Russian one.
I suspect though that this is a ploy to quickly get in the "repeal" part of the "repeal and replace" without actually ever really getting to the "replace" – the failure of which they can blame Democrat obstructionism.
Any price changes will be MORE, with the excess going into tRump's secret account. This man/child is a flaming idiot. He is borderline Alzheimers, or he has always been "slow" Who would go to Russia, cavort with prostitutes and think Vlad would not be taping and recording EVERY MOVE? The pervert tRump, that's who. Dumbass.
DeleteFirst trump sends the stock market spiraling down with his stupid tweets.
DeleteAlso his bidding on drugs is nothing new, the Democrats wanted to do this years ago and the republicans shot them down.
I think his tweets about the fighter jet didn't affect anything. He just annoyed some people.
DeleteBeaglemom
Health insurance? He don't need no stinkin" health insurance! He's a billionaire (yeah, right), plus the "healthiest person ever to assume the position of president!"
DeleteTrump is about to learn two hard lessons.
ReplyDelete1. Do not pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel.
2. Do not pick fights with the people who have the secrets. Brennan is leaving but the professionals are staying and they are PISSED.
Good friend of mine, long-time neighbor, retired from CIA in 2000, worked as contractor until 2010. His friends still in the Agency tell him they are seething at Trump. You can bet when confirmed info about Trump's Russian whores is developed, it will be leaked.
Of course it will be leaked, and not necessarily by USA intelligence agents. Remember Great Britain and apparently Israel ( who is not too happy about the Russian connection) agencies have the info.
DeleteHaha, Old Redneck, I love your post for the Mark Twain quote. Good one!!
DeleteWhat an ass. Trump said in an interview that he's started off "trusting" both Angela Merkel of Germany and Putin. Not that he was equating them, but it didn't look good. Germany is a strong ally of ours. Not Putin.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who reads the intel blogs and European papers knows that Putin is gunning for Merkel. The neo-Nazis in the other Euro countries are, too, and Marine Le Pen (running for Fr. pres and always looking to get Russia money/aid) is part of it. I think Trump is also gunning for Merkel. He thinks he's so smart as he plays games and looks for ways to punish people who are the real good guys. He doesn't see how much damage his ego games are doing.
Too bad the gop members are too damn DUMB to see thhrough this orange bastard's scam. Maybe they do, but he is distracting the populace while they destroy everything good that President Obama has done. They are too stupid to see that President Obama's ratings are HIGHER than any gop president. He is popular, and they failed at trying to destroy him while he was in office with all their obstructions. They LIKE low class, low morals, low intelligence tRump.
Delete" He doesn't see how much damage his ego games are doing."
Delete------------
I disagree. I think he revels in it. He wants to see his enemies (anyone who doesn't worship him) punished, embarrassed, humiliated.
The accompanying damage is his proof that he succeeded. Any other negative consequences of his actions are either somebody else's fault (like that of the person he attacked) or actually a good thing which everyone else is too stupid too understand.
Enjoy the live entertainment! It won't last..
DeleteAnd the twitter storm continued -
ReplyDelete"Outgoing CIA Chief, John Brennan, blasts Pres-Elect Trump on Russia threat. Does not fully understand." Oh really, couldn't do...
much worse - just look at Syria (red line), Crimea, Ukraine and the build-up of Russian nukes. Not good! Was this the leaker of Fake News?
So .... Trump just accused the head of the CIA of leaking the Russian dossier.
Holy crap he's nuts. And he's getting worse the closer he gets to inauguration. This does not bode well and the Republicans better get their shit together because they have to get rid of this guy before he does something catastrophic.
I don't think the GOP has a Plan B. I think the rest of us better plan on trying to maintain our hard fought gains and our sanity.
DeleteTrumps\'s got serious mental issues.
The problem is that PUTIN doesn't have a Plan B.
DeleteHe was institutionalized for them in the 90's. Too bad we do not have any REAL journalists who would actually dig up the truth. I would like to know how Maleria's parents got visas to come to this country, when they were members of the Communist party in Slovania. Who oulled strings, and was Russia involved in some way? They live at Trump Tower are they also spied on? Maybe the reason tRump does not want to stay away from the place is because he consults with Vlad from there, from his in-law's place.
DeleteInstead of disqualifying him due to "institutionization" they elected him...Good job America... Shake of head...
DeleteWhat are the Vegas odds the Trumps will or will not walk in the parade?
ReplyDeleteIn a bullet-proof baseball hat.
DeleteHe won't. Not matter how good the Secret Service or his private security are, Trump knows he's hated and he is a COWARD. He won't make himself a target for some disgruntled Deplorable who is mad about the wall, that Hillary isn't locked up and is about to lose his healthcare.
DeleteLard ass could not walk a quarter mile. He lumbers slowly onstage at his "conferences" Out of shape scuzball.
Delete3:30
DeleteThat lumbering isn't because he's out of shape, though he is.
That hunched lumbering is the show he puts on to pretend to be humble and one of the people. It's the self-deprecating hunch and shuffle. Aw shucks. You chose me?
He could probably walk a quarter of a mile. *I* could walk a quarter of a mile.
But I suspect he won't. Because to walk would be to expose him to sniper fire. I'm sure that little orange turd is deathly afraid he will be assassinated. They all think the "libruls" are too chicken to do it. Besides, they don't own any guns, right? No, it's his own people he's afraid of. Plus foreign governments. A LOT of foreign governments. I'm sure he thinks China and Russia would target him. Yeah, even Russia. Plus there are so many more. But he'll probably claim the excuse that he is hiding from the public because ISIS is out to get him.
Man, I can't wait until SNL really starts eviscerating him. Saturday was their best yet. But he just can't stop and will write more for them each week. I'm sorry Alec Baldwin doesn't want to miss quality time with his family but I so wish he'd be a regular on SNL. They would have an opener for him every week.

DeleteRightwinger's idea of "good healthcare", go to the ER and hope they erase the bill. Where do these idiots think the money for this is going to come from?
ReplyDeleteSheryl Tribble • 11 minutes ago
We got out of the Army at the same time as a bunch of hubby's friends, and there were three couples (including us) pregnant without insurance that year. Everyone got care, one way or another, and no one was impoverished thereby. Our family's had two emergency room visits that ended up including hospitalizations without insurance as well -- both times we got a bill, but the hospital had information on how to minimize it and worked with us to set up a reasonable monthly payment on it. (Our church actually ended up paying one of them -- chili supper with matching funds, memory serves.)
There were options before Obamacare.
Those without insurance can hold yard sales, bake sales, gofundme, sell sperm, blood, grandma's silver. It will be fine. Lordy.
DeleteThe most amazing part of sheryl's post? She is a church-goer. And, she would be fine with the poor and those with pre-existing illnesses possibly going without medical care. The sheryls are why I no longer have faith. There is no Jesus in tneir hearts or souls. There were options...yep.
DeleteThe Sheryls aren't even Christian. They use Christianity as a sword when they want and a shield when it doesn't go their way. Fucking evangelicals and their fake faith.
DeleteAnyone who says "hubby" deserves to be socked with a huge unreimburseable medical bill.
DeleteSo basically her options are to sponge off of other people. Other taxpayers who pay for that emergency room and church members who paid the rest.
DeleteYes, that's the plan. Be irresponsible and let others pay. Boy, just like Trump.
My soon was out of work for an extended period of time. Unemployment ran out, food stamps stopped. He was very depressed, threatened suicide on Facebook. A friend called the police. He was taken to the hospital overnight. Was there from 11 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. next day. Bills came to OVER $3,000. Hospital turned the bills over to a collection agency. He finally got a job and is paying off the bills. Greatest country in the world? Yeah, right.
DeleteGo to the ER and let the rest of us pick up the bill with higher costs.
DeleteTo the people who think running to an emergency room with no insurance is a good idea, I say you are crazy. Those options available to hospitals also included the hospital absorbing costs but then charging more for everyone with insurance so that insurance rates kept going up. It was not a good thing that people "used" the emergency room unnecessarily. Medicare with a supplement more or less solved that problem for senior citizens. The ACA has been an attempt, albeit with problems provided to us by the GOP, for everyone else to purchase insurance. Now we're likely to lose both. Do you think that showing up in the emergency room knowing you have no way to pay for the services is a proper way to run a country's medical care system? Do you really think that your fellow church members should foot your bills and then have their insurance rates go up? And a spaghetti dinner cannot raise enough money to cover a surgery bill.
DeleteBeaglemom
ERs are required to stabilize a patient, not design and arrange a long-term plan for chronic conditions. ERs are also the most expensive way to provide stabilizing care that might not have been needed if affordable insurance with office visits were available.
DeleteInstead of pouring more money into hospital coffers and doctors and their ultra high end BMW's and Mercedes.... maybe lawmakers need to address why these supposed health care providers feel like they can gouge every last cent out of their customers.
DeleteStart going after the Hospital and Doctors groups. They have had unfettered access to the cookie jar for far too long.
There is no reason for these costs to be so high to begin with.
People like 8:30 think they should be paid what they are worth, but no one else should.
DeleteThey think going to the doctor should be like the check out line at the store. You pay for the 15 min. of time you use. No thought about how many years it took for that doctor to attain that education to be able to treat you or how much money (and student loans) it took to pay for that education.
They think doctors should get paid, maybe what? $20 an hour? So they should only have to pay $5 for their visit.
They probably also think doctors only work an 8 hour shift. Never mind they go home and spend a few hours going over the latest medical journals to keep up with new advances and techniques.
BTW I might say the same about lawyers or teachers. (Teachers even pay for instructional materials out of their own pockets. At least the doctors don't have to buy their own tongue depressors.)
People like 8:30 are those low information Deplorables with no critical thinking skills that can't see the big picture or estimate long term consequences to decisions. You know. Your average Drumpf Republican.
mchalupa you are such a dumbass.

ReplyDeleteI worry about his isolation. It's as if Barron has no playmates at all. I remember when our son was his age and spent lots of time outside in our neighborhood with his friends. ReplyDeleteTrump is playing such games. He's talking now about lifting sanctions as part of a nukes pull-back agreement. These have been pulled back and there's no way anyone's going to blow up each other. This is just his excuse to lift the sanctions and ignore the reason they were put in place in 2014: the Crimea. He's so kissing Putin's ass on the Ukraine and doesn't give a rat's ass about Putin taking over other countries as long as Exxon can get sanctions lifted for that 64 million acres they want to extract oil from. And because Trump's fans are so dumb, they'll think he's actually done something important and for the first time ever re nukes.
ReplyDelete"As we all know, Donald Trump's tweets have become a potent force in our new era. On the one hand, a single tweet can cripple opponents, activate supporters, move markets, and subsume the news cycle. On the other, they're a window into Trump's wee-hours, unfiltered id. But when his tweets are full of half-truths, distortions, and often bold-faced lies, should journalists treat them as normal presidential utterances, or something else? https://georgelakoff.com/2016/12/15/how-to-help-trump/
"Without knowing it, many Democrats, progressives and members of the news media help Donald Trump every day. The way they help him is simple: they spread his message.
Think about it: every time Trump issues a mean tweet or utters a shocking statement, millions of people begin to obsess over his words. Reporters make it the top headline. Cable TV panels talk about it for hours. Horrified Democrats and progressives share the stories online, making sure to repeat the nastiest statements in order to refute them. While this response is understandable, it works in favor of Trump.
When you repeat Trump, you help Trump. You do this by spreading his message wide and far."
"When you repeat Trump, you help Trump.
In the coming weeks and months, I’ll use this space to provide simple, practical advice on how Democrats, progressives and conscientious journalists can use the principles of effective framing to expose and undermine Trump’s propaganda. Knowledge is power! We must arm ourselves with the fundamentals of effective political communication. We must know our values and frame the debate – and avoid helping Trump.
When you repeat Trump, you help Trump."
