Between its “Fox and Friends” morning show and Sean Hannity at night, Fox News has become a haven for those who think this whole Russia thing is nonsense. On Friday morning, Steve Doocy even declared that “the Russia story is starting to fall apart.”
But on Friday afternoon, a Fox host went off on the Trump administration's handling of Russia in a way we've rarely seen.
Here's the transcript:
"We’re still not clean on this, Chris [Wallace]. If there’s nothing there — and that’s what they tell us, they tell us there’s nothing to this and nothing came of it, there’s a nothingburger, it wasn’t even memorable, didn’t write it down, didn’t tell you about it, because it wasn’t anything so I didn’t even remember it — with a Russian interpreter in the room at Trump Tower? If all of that, why all these lies? Why is it lie after lie after lie? If you clean, come on clean, you know? My grandmother used to say when first we practice to — Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. The deception, Chris, is mind-boggling. And there are still people who are out there who believe we’re making it up. And one day they’re gonna realize we’re not and look around and go, Where are we, and why are we getting told all these lies?"
Now to be fair Shep Smith is like an oasis of responsible journalism in a desert of Right Wing talking points over at Fox, but Chris Wallace is right there with him.
And they are not alone.
Here is Fox contributor Charles Krauthammer, courtesy of CNN:
In a column published Thursday night, Krauthammer said that the "Russian scandal has entered a new phase, and there's no going back."
Krauthammer, a Fox News contributor, wrote that he has long been a skeptic of charges of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, but that he was "open to empirical evidence."
Following a revelation this week about emails between Donald Trump Jr. and a business associate who helped arrange a meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer, Krauthammer wrote that the "evidence is now shown."
"This is not hearsay, not fake news, not unsourced leaks," Krauthammer wrote. "This is an email chain released by Donald Trump Jr. himself."
Now Sean Hannity, Steve Doocy, and those airheads on Fox and Friends are simply NEVER going to admit that this president is a liar and that he colluded with the Russian government to steal an election, but for a growing segment of Fox News viewers those facts are starting to become unavoidable.
Back around 98 wingnuts were telling Clinton to resign for the good of the country. Drumpf and crew have committed much more heinous crimes than lying to congress about a blow job.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Dems will try to bankrupt Drumpf by filing one suit after another like happened with the Clinton's.
Lying to Congress about a blow job. Hahaha. Funny.
DeleteBut yeah, light years in crimes, and the threat to the USA. Blow job not so much. Just saying.
Did Ivanka Trump disclose Jared Kushner's Russia meetings, as required on her SF-86 form, to obtain a security clearance?
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/RepDonBeyer/status/886312241083166723
And while they’re on the subject, Democrats are just wondering if Ivanka has updated her own disclosures. Did Jared’s selective amnesia put his wife in jeopardy when she failed to disclose her spouse’s contacts? Because that’s a felony. And if Ivanka was somehow not involved in this Russia mess before, she is now!

I'd be more concerned that when Qatar told Jared no to a $500 million bailout of the Kushner botched NY 600 development they he got Puff Daddy Trump to lean on Qatar. This is on Muellers radar.
DeleteWhose money they owe is the ?
DeleteI'm surprised at Krauthammer.
ReplyDeleteBut I suppose when the dust settles he doesn't want to be on the side of the brain dead douche squat.
In the end Sean Hannity is going to be shown a bigger fool than he already is.
Sean Hannity is riding the big salary and adoration of the brain dead right. He is a despicable excuse for a human being.
DeleteSeeing or hearing Hannity is like stepping on excrement barefoot!

44 years a Republican, 1 year an Independent, today I'm joining the Democratic Party
ReplyDeleteThis was not an easy decision to make. Politics is like one's religion, you just don't change it unless you have a moment of clarity and realize you are on the wrong path. My family's involvement in the GOP goes all the way back to the mid-1850s and the start of the GOP in Illinois.

DeleteThere Is Now Evidence That Senior Trump Officials Attempted to Collude With Russia
ReplyDeleteby David French July 11, 2017 2:24 PM
Donald Trump Jr.’s e-mails are damning.
...As of now, we should have zero confidence that we know all or even most material facts. We should have zero confidence that Trump’s frustration is entirely due to his feeling like an innocent man caught in the crosshairs of crazed conspiracy theorists. It now appears that his son, son-in-law, and campaign chair met with a lawyer who they were told was part of an official Russian government effort to impact the presidential election. The Russian investigation isn’t a witch hunt anymore, if it ever was. *It’s a national necessity.*

Palantir Technologies Inc., the Palo Alto analytics unicorn co-founded by Peter Thiel, apparently wasn't the only venture-backed company at a White House tech roundtable organized last month by President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that OpenGov Inc., a Redwood City startup whose CEO had a prominent seat between the CEOs of Akamai and VMware, is part owned by Thrive Capital — a venture firm run by Kushner's brother, Joshua.

According to records unearthed by the Wall Street Journal, OpenGov is funded in part by the venture capital firm Thrive Capital. Thrive is run by Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and close adviser. According to the Journal, Jared Kushner himself was formerly a board member and investor at Thrive, but sold his stake to his brother earlier this year. Jared Kushner was the primary organizer of the roundtable, known as the American Technology Council and created earlier this year in an executive order signed by President Trump.

4:00 Thanks for posting that. I was going to post a few David French links but haven't been online much.
DeleteDavid French is known best to IMers as Sara and Bristol Palin's ghost writer's husband. Very conservative. Very far right leaning.
He's had several "surprising" articles in National Review which to me seem to indicate he's having a "come to Jesus" moment and is finally "seeing the light" of the blatant lies the Trump White House has been putting out regarding the Trump family and the campaign's connection to Russia.
I see this as a good sign. (though I don't trust that French won't retreat to pro-Trump all the time again)
When you get hard core conservatives pointing out that the WH story line is bogus, we'll start seeing more of the middle of the road conservatives taking notice and turning against Trump and company.
Just because liberals are saying it doesn't make it Fake News.
Just wait till they start following the money....
ReplyDeleteHaha no chit right? Who needs soap operas. Politics
DeleteSo, the traitors are going to try this tactic. Putin must be busy advising Trump and Co.
ReplyDeleteGod, I hate that Trump. He's obnoxious, old, and a liar.
He doesn't love America and neither do any of the Republicans who are letting him get away with this.
There must be enough people in America who can push back on Putin's grandiose schemes. Donald is so obviously a puppet. That bastard from hell.
"...He's obnoxious, old, and a liar."
DeleteI'm hopeful you didn't intend that as it sounds. Being OLD is NOT something that is automatically a bad thing. Just remember that, barring accidents, you, too, will be old!
Kraphammer is still a POS.
