President Trump essentially excommunicated his onetime chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, from his political circle on Wednesday, excoriating him as a self-promoting exaggerator who had “very little to do with our historic victory” and has now “lost his mind.”
In a written statement brimming with anger and resentment, Mr. Trump fired back at Mr. Bannon, who had made caustic comments about the president and his family to the author of a new book about the Trump White House. While Mr. Bannon had remained in touch with Mr. Trump even after being pushed out of the White House last summer, the two now appear to have reached a breaking point.
“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency,” Mr. Trump said in the statement. “When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”
Mr. Trump berated Mr. Bannon for the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama and said the former adviser did not represent his base but was “only in it for himself.” Rather than supporting the president’s agenda to “make America great again,” Mr. Bannon was “simply seeking to burn it all down,” Mr. Trump said.
“Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was,” he added. “It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.”
I love this so much I can barely stand it.
Watching these two arrogant assholes rip each other apart in public is almost like a second Christmas.
I think the last time I took such joy in reporting facts, which backed up what people had believed all along, was when I reported on the Palin Anchorage brawl.
We KNEW that Trump did not expect to win, and that is now confirmed.
We KNEW that he had no plan to implement policies if he won, and now that has been confirmed.
We KNEW that the Trump White House functioned like a badly written reality show full of drama and infighting among the "cast members," and now that has been confirmed.
And we KNEW that this White House would self destruct at some point, and now we are watching that happen in real time.
My only hope is that there is something left of the presidency for the Democrat who is going to be elected at some point to come in and clean up this mess.
Chinese adage: “If you wait by the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by.”
ReplyDeleteI live on the Potomac River where it joins the Chesapeake Day. From this day forward, I'll go out to the end of my dock to watch the Trump administration bodies float by.
So very apt these days.
DeleteCelebrit7y Death Match between these two scumbags and the winner is erased afterwards.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of the book isnt particularly scandalous or illegal, but illustrates the sense of entitlement that these chuckleheads have. Kremlin Barbie thought she would be the first woman president. Yeah right, Vanky!
ReplyDeleteKremlin barbie? Who might that be?
DeleteShe'd be better to keep selling her Chinese-made, overpriced crap. GAWD the entitlement of some people. Maybe she can try hawking shit teas as well. :)
DeleteGet the popcorn! We gonna watch these two tear each other another a hole.
ReplyDeletechips tonight.
DeleteBannon. Wants. A. Legit. Revolution.
ReplyDeleteTell Russia its not happening. It won't erase your collusion a century ago!
DeleteIran will expose Russia for starting it!
I was wondering what started it in Iran.
DeleteThe deal was a good thing was the news!
Someone might have lied to start riots.
Now who would do that? USA or USSR?
Aren't all revolutions illegitimate?
DeleteBannon's new book is "Fire and Fury" and will be published 1/9/18. You'll notice when going on line that they are really pushing Trump books!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet the Amazon reviews section will be a hoot to read! A lot of clever people in this country.
DeleteAgain, bannon did not write the book!
DeleteWolfe wrote it.
Get in the ring assholes!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine? Death match, both huffing and puffing so overweight. Talk about Must See TV!
DeleteYou're right, Gryph, this so reminds me of $arah's excuses. Projection, BUT you're forgiven if you claim you're a "politician" and x-tian. Ten years running, I'm still trying to find that chapter and verse.
ReplyDeleteRemember "Game Change" the movie coming out, and how her team flipped out, ALL LIES, when they hadn't even seen it? Julianne Moore: Emmy. LMAO
Wolff has already been accused of flowering for a "good story," but I'll bet you it's true, else, why the meltdown?
Washington's growing obsession: The 25th Amendment
ReplyDeleteLawmakers concerned about Trump's mental health invited a Yale psychiatry professor to brief them in December.
Lawmakers concerned about President Donald Trump’s mental state summoned Yale University psychiatry professor Dr. Bandy X. Lee to Capitol Hill last month for two days of briefings about his recent behavior.
In private meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress held on Dec. 5 and 6, Lee briefed lawmakers – all Democrats except for one Republican senator, who Lee declined to identify. Her professional warning to Capitol Hill: “He’s going to unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”

duh! you don't need to be a doctor to see trump melting. it is delightful.
Delete‘Bannon was shot on the South Lawn and run over by a tank’
ReplyDeleteHow the Bannon-Trump alliance collapsed.
...The dramatic collapse on Wednesday of the shaky alliance between President Donald Trump and his former chief strategist, Steve Bannon, marked perhaps the most vicious falling out between a president and a former aide in modern history.
But the fireworks capped months of tension between the two, who have repeatedly taken veiled shots at each other through the news media but never attacked each other on the national stage.
On the way to Mar-a-Lago for Christmas, the president fumed about a report in Vanity Fair that quoted Bannon saying Trump had just a 30 percent chance of serving out a full term, but the president’s aides persuaded him not to go public with his frustration, according to two sources familiar with the episode.
That veneer of politeness dropped when Trump saw news reports Wednesday about a book excerpt by the New York journalist Michael Wolff exposing Bannon’s contempt not only for the Trump family but for the president himself.
Bannon mused openly that a Trump Tower meeting with Russians involving Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was “stupid,” “treasonous,” and “unpatriotic.” Wolff also related conversations between Bannon and Roger Ailes, the late Fox News chairman, in which Bannon jokes about Trump’s incomplete understanding of political matters. “He gets what he gets,” Bannon reportedly said.
Trump spent the day seething, telling aides that his campaign chairman is “not well,” and issuing a formal presidential statement declaring that Bannon had “lost his mind.”

Interesting that trump didn't call bannon a liar and he did not threatening to sue Wolff and the publishing company like he usually does.
DeleteTrump just hit Bannon with a cease and desist lawsuit. Good times all around : the piranhas are attacking each other.
DeleteWe ALL know that he didn't want to be president but to promote his idiotic self and be famous worldwide. Careful what you wish....he will go down in history as a FOOL.
ReplyDeleteWe’re rushing toward the breaking point
ReplyDelete...'The United States does have extraordinary gifts for self-correction. But we must face the fact that Trump is accelerating us toward the breaking point. No matter how confident we are in our resilience, we should not imagine otherwise. Not even Mueller has a button on his desk he can press to get us out of this without scars.'

This is what you get when the EC elects an "I'll show YOU" megalomaniac and we are ALL going to pay for it.

I like the description of Chumps combover that his mistress/daughter mocks. Scalp reduction island with wooley hair surrounding it. All hair is combed to meet in center, then combed straight back and held down with stiff hairspray. Hat for windy days. Hair color is just for Men. Color varies depending on how long impatient Dump leaves it on.

ReplyDeleteThe loyalty pledge. Everyone has to swear loyalty and "OMG this is even too effed up for me!" Now that's saying something.
ReplyDeleteThe Dotard just tweeted “MAGA”. Must be sitting in bed with a cheeseburger watching his fat orange ass get kicked all over cable news. #Pathetic
ReplyDeleteAnswer me this, dotard: If you were above board, why would you think people were out to poison you? Or are you BEYOND mentally ill.
DeleteEGADS! This peeing match among all these fat laden meatheads is just going to splatter on all of us.
ReplyDeleteWhen again is everyone suppose to bow down to trump?
ReplyDeleteOh right Omarosa has already jumped the ship of clowns.
Gosh, sounds like little donnie is describing himself again.
ReplyDeleteIt does, doesn't it? He projects like crazy.

ReplyDeleteSarah said she got excited when she watched Bannon blow himself.
ReplyDeleteOK. Next time, please don't feel the need to share.

ReplyDeletePutin is still messing with our internet and influencing people's minds according to Rachel Maddow.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this latest Trump and Bannon hissy fight is a distraction? Wouldn't be surprised if it was. I can't see Bannon breaking with his minion.
We shall see. It's like a damned soap opera. And by the way just out of crankiness and no apparent reason, I dislike that Huckabee Sanders woman. I can't stand the way she defends lies. I hope that comes back on her.
Exactly when did bannon find out about this treasonous meeting and when did he call the FBI? Or did he turn a blind eye?
ReplyDeleteHow is Pence going to weasel his way out of this mess? How can he get away with i know nothing? Seems like he would have to know some of this stuff was going on.
Rachel Maddow: New Book Revelations Are An Obstruction Of Justice Nightmare For Trump
ReplyDeleteThe new details continue to build the obstruction case against Trump, but they also increase the likelihood that the president and his GOP apologists will escalate their war on the FBI and special counsel Robert Mueller.

Donald Trump goes into full panic mode
...In the half a day since the Steve Bannon bombshells began landing, Donald Trump has said precisely nothing. His Twitter account has gone dormant, save for a few generic tweets which obviously weren’t written or posted by Trump himself. Trump’s White House did put out a fiery statement accusing Bannon of having “lost his mind” but it’s not in Trump’s usual speaking or writing style. Instead, when you match it up with the tone and rhetoric used by Sarah Huckabee Sanders during her press conference today, it appears she wrote the statement on Trump’s behalf without his input.

Trump attorneys send Bannon a cease and desist letter accusing the former top aide of ‘disparaging’ the president

I beleive bannon is entitled to his opinion.
DeleteTrump is doing this to send a message to other former (or current) employees who would try to "Bannon" him.
ReplyDeleteBut there's no way Trump sues Bannon, for the obvious reason that he'd have to testify and Lord Jesus there's *no way* even *he* is stupid enough to allow that to happen.

This.
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I've tried to do with this feed from Day 1. Find news that was previously reported but since forgotten, and see how it informs the news we're getting today. Big media isn't doing this work itself—so it's left to independent journalists on social media.

So many things we have learned recently were reported at the time, split across tweets and dozens of news sources. But it was all there, reported by professionals. Someone at WaPo should seriously start a Trump/Russia Wiki site for journalists to use a database.

OMG.
Every day it becomes clearer that this man is a narcissistic sociopath.

I'm a nueropsychiatrist. We know exactly what's "off" about Trump. He has severe, debilitating personality disorders that render him a natural-born sociopath. I've worked with #ASPD patients for over 20 years. Trump has ASPD, hence, sociopathy.

Sooo, Trump is afraid of being poisoned so he's eating McDonald's to offset this? Wow! I think we will have to blame McDonald's when the fat one falls over.
ReplyDelete'blame' ?? More like gracious thanks should be offered.

Sarah Hucksliar made me laugh when she said it was disgusting that bannon went after trump's children, like they are minors.
ReplyDeleteDonnie jr is an adult and fair game, especially since he spends a lot of time lying about Hillary. I thought he was suppose to stay out of daddy's affairs while running the family con business anyway!
They also hold top positions as "senior" advisers to the president.

Ha ha ha. Like the Trump "children" need to be protected. Like they are not the worst kind of vipers who've ever walked the halls of the West Wing.
