Pentagon has no idea where Trump thinks he will get the money for his parade.

Courtesy of the Military Times:

President Donald Trump’s proposed military parade has a potential date and location: Veterans Day in Washington.

But there’s still the question of how it will be paid for.

“When we talk about the options — the composition, the theme, the date, the location, the associated costs — all those are being looked at as part of the options that are being created,” said Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning. “The funding stream is a line that they [parade planners] would have to provide details on.

”No money was allocated for a parade in the fiscal 2019 budget, and none was previously identified in the fiscal 2018 budget, which ends Sept. 30, six weeks before the planned parade date.

The White House budget office has estimated that the parade options Trump is considering would cost between $10 million and $30 million.

Trump also said this:

“But the generals would love to do it, I can tell you, and so would I,” Trump said on Fox News.

But when asked about that:

On Monday Pentagon reporters asked which generals had indicated they would want a parade; Manning said he did not know.

“I don’t know what specific generals told him that,” Manning said.

I'm going to guess that none of them told him that, and that he just made that up like he makes everything else up.

Hope Hicks admits that she tells 'white lies" for this buffoon. He's pathological. We do not have 10 million for education, roads, or health care, but he plans to pluck his money tree (the US Treasury) and throw HIMSELF a big old communist parade. Yeah, boy, he sure speaks for the people...all 28% of his supporters.

I want to know what she considers a "white lie".

I would also like to know who isn't a criminal in this administration.

Actually some estimates are that the cost could be as high as 70 million dollars.

Who's going to pay to rebuild Pennsylvania Ave. and any other Washington streets used to put on this lunatic display?

Let cadet bone spurs pay for his own parade. $10-30 million could be better spent on other items than his ego.

I hope the City of Washington sends Humpty Trumpty the street repair bill! I'd be willing to bet those streets can't handle the weight of most military weapons HE would want to display!

-From a poll that *I* recently read in the Military Times, most military (currently serving and veterans) *hate* the idea!

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/373072-military-times-poll-majority-oppose-trumps-military-parade

One comment I read there stated that the service members hate all the practice that lead up to these parades and the wasted time that it entails. Many more echo comments expressed here and on other sites that they *know* who this parade is truly being given for, all the gaslighting explanations to the contrary being thrown out there.

I personally wrote a scathing letter to the Pentagon letting them know my opinion. I stated that as a daughter of an honorably discharged, now buried with honors veteran, it is a travesty that a multiple draft dodging poseur galavanting around as the "Commander in Chief", it makes me ill to think of this parade actually coming to fruition. My earliest memories include my father sitting me on his lap while he watched Soviet military parades on the news and telling me that when he was in the Army he trained to keep us safe from *them*. We. Do. Not. Have. To. Proclaim. Our. Prowess. To. The. World. To do so would make us look weaker, like a drunk in a bar itching for a fight, yelling "You lookin' at ME?!?!?" How pathetic.

    2. Easy fix.

      Obviuosly no tanks.

Hummers, OK. Maybe dragging some sort of cannon or two.

As for the bulk of the parade?

We have five military academies: Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. I’ll bet they all have bands. So a band and all of the cadets from each academy march, with flags and color guard and rifle drills and such. They practice a lot of this sort of stuff so are a lot more prepared. The Marine Corp band, color guard, rifle team and whatever other flashy stuff they have on hand can bring up the rear.

If they are short on troops, I’m sure some decent military academies in the area would be honored to fill in.

It will be short and sweet.

Seems only fitting that Cadet Bone Spurs gets a parade of actual cadets. Let the cadets get a good dose of the kind of Commander and Chief they will be taking orders from in the next few years.

I’d feel a lot better if the hypothetical parade money would instead go towards things like healthcare and other supports for our soldiers and veterans. I think that would be more helpful to them than a parade.

    OT:

", census records unearthed by the Greenville News show that her ancestor, Hiram Clark Brawley, owned 66 human beings, which were valued at $32,000. That’s about $900,000 in today’s dollars. The family managed the Plantation after his death and his son joined the South Carolina army during the Civil War.

The revelation that a proud neo-Confederate’s ancestors also profited handsomely from slavery was not shocking to black leaders in the state.

“I don’t think she understands the diversity we have in South Carolina and that we’re not all a bunch of flag-waving yahoos,” said a local black church leader, Joe Darby. “When you elevate the Confederacy, you stomp on the memories of those who were subjugated, the slaves. She’s stomping on my ancestors.”

Templeton posted a self-pitying selfie video to Twitter.

“Yesterday, the Democratic Party called me a white supremacist. Because I support president Trump? Or because I fight for Democratic ideals?”"

"NOW with the browning of America and whites about to lose their majority status, we have a new situation for the first time in our history where every group in America feels threatened. A study shows that two-thirds of working class [white] Americans feel that whites are more discriminated against than minorities. And Christians feel threatened. And when groups feel threatened, that’s when they go insular and tribal."

  13. Our military budget is so bloated and even MORE money was given to them they didn’t even ask for, take it out of the military budget. Make them pay for it. They’ll think twice before blindly following a madman.

  14. The military isn’t going to allow any damage to come to the streets of D.C. or any other streets.

They’re smart enough to be able to guide Trump to the option they want.

    Me?

He would get a ‘cadet’ parade but I certainly wouldn’t call it that.

All military academies practice marching, have a band, a color guard and do rifle drills. It’s all quite impressive. I witnessed it at my brother’s graduation from the Air Force Academy. I’m sure the Army and Navy academies have like impressive displays. The Coast Guard Academy may also contribute same or if the parade can get close enough to the coast they can do a Tall Ships display at the conclusion, maybe with some bands on the shore.

The Marines have a band and are quite impressive with their color guards and rifle teams. They can bring up the rear and give it a big finish.

Add a few Hummers with some trailers of guns and a few troops and Trump gets a flashy parade, the streets aren’t trashed and the cost is at a minimum.

Who better to give Cadet Bone Spurs a parade than the academy cadets. It will also give them a taste of who they’ll be taking orders from the next few years.

A Cadet Parade for a cadet with five deferments. Kinda appropriate.

I’m sure they’ll find a way to sell it, even without Hope Hicks steaming Trump’s pants.

When a leader can say he wants that and wants this and the people just complain and do nothing about it, we've crossed the line. Donald Trump is now like Putin, Hitler and Kim Jun Un. Let's look this one in the face and call it what it is. If we let the asshole get away with this one, we no longer live in a democracy.
